 Part One

Last week I took a look back at the Season 41 Entry Draft, and in that article I featured three players. Those three players have become iconic pieces of their respective teams, and those players were Niklaus Mikaelson, Jack Kowalski, and Gifford Shock. Now in the second part of this series featuring the 41st draft, there are a few more players I want to inform you about.

Going 9th overall to the Stockholm Vikings, defensive centerman Rift Pajodcast was a decent pick-up that Stockholm was looking to fill the second line on their rebuilding team. This was not in his destiny, however. Pajodcast was traded over to the Seattle Bears, where he found himself a nice home for a few seasons. In his rookie season as a Bear, he scored 11 goals and added 48 assists to give him 59 points. This was a pretty decent achievement for a rookie on the Bears squad, which included a 54.5% winning percentage in the face off circle. For a first year, those are astonishing numbers for taking draws. On top of that was his 75 blocked shots and a miniscule 23 penalty mistakes. Rift made himself known as a great defensive centerman in the VHL. In his sophomore season, his production lessened going down to 35 points, including 8 goals. He was not expected to do anything amazing offensively, so that statistic was nothing to dwell over. His face off percentage rose even higher that year, rising up to 56.9%. Adding to this was the fact that he did not take a single penalty in Season 42, which is quite impressive. Last season in Season 43, his point production went back up to a decent level, earning 12 goals and 28 assists for 40 points. He was also a positive in the plus/minus column for the first time in his career, having a +26. He also rose his face off percentage even higher, up to 58.2%. His penalty minutes last season also were held down to only 12, showing discipline on the ice consistently in his first three seasons of action. Rift Pajodcast and the Seattle Bears went on to stun the league and win the Continental Cup as well, giving him his first championship. He was one of his team's MVP's with 14 points in 16 playoff games. In the off-season he was then traded over to the Cologne Express, where he remains today.

Teuvo Ruutu - 4th Overall

Taken at 4th overall was draft pick of the Stockholm Vikings, and that player is defenseman Teuvo Ruutu. Teuvu went straight into the VHL after the draft in Season 41, and put up 20 goals and 47 assists, which gave him a steady 67 points in 72 games. Being close to a point per game as a rookie is a big accomplishment for a player. He also showed a physical presence with 200 hits and even laid down for 98 blocked shots. In his second season, he scored 33 goals, including 36 assists for 69 points, improving on his first campaign. This Finnish defender crushed his opponents with 299 hits in Season 42, and established himself as a destructive foe on the ice with a huge offensive upside. In Season 43, he moved from defense to the right wing, and picked up 21 goals along with 39 assists. This was his worst season yet with only 60 points, but for the first time he was a positive in the plus/minus column, with an impressive +46. He had 233 hits, and even helped his team out with 8 game winning goals. In that post-season, Stockholm was taken out of the playoffs by the Cologne Express. Now this season, Teuvo was traded to the Toronto Legion, and is producing respectably with 9 points in 14 games so far.

Jakub Rhinehart is a 6th overall selection of the infamous Seattle Bears organization. Much like previously talked about Rift Pajodcast, Jakub had his rookie season straight out of the VHL Entry Draft. In that said season, he scored 11 goals and added 48 assists, for 59 points, with 75 blocked shots adding a defensive side to his game. In his sophomore year, he improved on those numbers, scoring 35 goals and adding 32 assists, for 67 points. Additionally, he was a +3, improving greatly on his -38 in the season prior. He fired a whopping 390 shots at the net, and went from 44 hits in Season 41 to 242 in Season 42. Last season, he put up 33 goals and 29 assists for 62 points, five less than his season before this one. Although he had less points, he made big strides in the plus/minus department with a +27, and put up 344 shots this time around. On top of that, he raised his physicality with 264 hits, the biggest milestone of his career. In that off-season, as mentioned in Pajodcast's section, he won the Continental Cup with the Seattle Bears. He managed 6 goals and 5 assists in that playoff run. This season, Rhinehart has remained with the Bears organization and is producing quite well with 13 points in 14 games. Jakub is an interesting player to monitor at heading forward.

Content 3/3 - I always love reading (grading) this series of yours and I can't wait until you get to S44. For this one, I felt it was interesting that Ruutu had his worst year offensively once he moved to forward.

Grammar 2/2 - Solid, but the first few sentences of the first two players were shaky.

Appearance 1/1 - Yeah

Final 6/6
