A Brief Look Back

Callum Sinclair - 2nd Overall

As far as goaltending goes, Callum Sinclair, drafted by HC Davos Dynamo, seems to be arguably the best one out of this draft. Taken at 2nd overall, Callum has a heavy load on his shoulders. In the VHLM, he was a member of the Turku Outlaws before entering the big leagues, where he lost in the Semi-Finals to Bratislava in 7 games. In the VHL with Davos, his rookie season was decent, going 26-32-6 with a .903SV% and a 2.88GAA, with 3 shutouts in those 64 games. They failed to make the post-season in Season 42, but the Dynamo had lots to look forward to. In Season 43, he had a record of 37-20-7, .914SV%, 2.19GAA and 9 shutouts, playing 64 games once again. Qualifying for the playoffs that season, the Dynamo lost to the Cologne Express in 5 games, where Sinclair posted a .907SV% and a 2.46GAA. Callum probably wished for better numbers against Cologne, but they had a very strong team. Last season, Callum had his best season so far in his career, going 41-19-4, with a .914SV%, 2.20GAA, and 5 shutouts. In these recently ended playoffs, HC Davos took the Stockholm Vikings to a close 7 game series, where Callum had a save percentage of .922% and a goals against average of 2.32. They lost in that final game 3-1, but Callum will hold his head high for next season.

Wolfgang Strauss - 3rd Overall

Wolfgang Strauss is a 3rd overall draftee of the Seattle Bears, who was a Founder's Cup winner in the VHLM in Season 40. Although he was not a crucial member on that team, he did give the Bratislava Watchmen a ton of depth. Wolfgang was a member of the Turku Outlaws in Season 41, although they did not have the success which he had in the season prior. Coming into the VHL as a rookie in Season 42, he scored 20 goals and added 17 assists, for a respectable 37 points with a +3. The uprising Seattle Bears did not qualify for the playoffs that season, but it was the next one where they surprised everybody. In Season 43, Strauss upped his production and posted 28 goals and 24 assists, for 52 points. On top of that, he was a +26 and the Bears made the playoffs as underdogs. Wolfgang Strauss was a part of that great run in which the Seattle Bears won the Continental Cup, where Strauss had 8 points in 16 games. Quite an accomplishment for a sophomore. In that off-season he was brought over to the Quebec City Meute, but then was traded to the Helsinki Titans where he split the season. In 72 games, he scored 39 goals and added 40 assists for a total of 79 points, much better than any other season he had played. Wolfgang and the Titans did not make the post-season in Season 44, but the Titans are looking in good form heading to the future. Strauss may have found a home in Helsinki.

Content 3/3 - When looking at the practice hours from these two guys, they seem a little underwhelming compared to other drafts... but at least the production is up there? Keep up this series, it's certainly a good read!

Grammar 2/2 - Looks good to me. I expect that from the head graders anyways. :P

Appearance 1/1 - Everything needed is here.
