As far as the Season 43 Entry Draft goes, one could argue that it was quite a deep one. While it has only been a couple of seasons since, it is not difficult to judge some of these players' capabilities already. One of these players is a man drafted fifth overall to the Stockholm Vikings, defenseman Francis York Morgan. In his rookie season, he opened up his VHL career with the team that drafted him, the Vikings. He had a very respectable season with the Vikings, putting up seven goals and 20 assists for 27 points. To add to that, he was a whopping +64 in the plus/minus column. It definitely helped that his Stockholm Vikings team had the best record in the VHL that season, but that is not to discredit Morgan's abilities. In his second season, he followed up his 27 point campaign with 43 points, and eight of them being goals. This time around, he had 165 hits and 83 blocked shots, showing he has a physical side to his game and is not to be reckoned with on the ice. In both of those two seasons, the Vikings were taken out in the Semi-Finals by the Cologne Express, despite having great regular season records. In the off-season of Season 44, Francis York Morgan was traded to the Quebec City Meute, where he remains today. Quebec is a rebuilding team, so this season in S45 they are not expected to win any sort of award, but Morgan has been playing stellar for them. We are almost at the end of the season, and right now Francis has hit career milestones. He has scored 13 goals and dished 43 assists which gives him 56 points, all three of those being career milestones for him. To add to those statistics, he has laid out 147 hits and blocked 109 shots. While the hit total is not a new mark for him, 109 blocked shots is and he has steadily improved in that category over his first three seasons of VHL action. I have followed this player's career since his VHLM days, and I consider him to be one of the better up and coming defenseman in the league and already a premier player.

Jorma Ruutu - 8th Overall

Jorma Ruutu is a left wing pick-up by the New York Americans in this draft, and has gradually turned into one of the Americans' best players. Although being drafted in Season 43, Jorma did not make the jump to the VHL until Season 44, and he had a fantastic rookie season. He scored 21 goals and added 43 assists, giving him 64 points, including 142 hits giving him a tenacious side to his game. You can probably think of the guy as a more offensive minded Jarko Ruutu, who played in the NHL. New York was taken out of the playoffs in S44 in five games by the Calgary Wranglers, and Jorma was the best American in that post-season. Ruutu led his team with seven points in a losing effort. This season in Season 45, Jorma has picked up the pace and improved his game, with 32 goals and 45 assists this time around. No sophomore slump for this man with 77 points. Approaching the playoffs soon, it will be interesting to watch and see if he will be the one leading his team once again, as they are one of the teams expected to have a good shot at the Continental Cup.

Content: 3/3 - Nice piece continuing your review of certain players from the past few drafts.  I like your own personal perspective on both of these guys, it adds another layer over an otherwise 'read-and-write' article from player stats.  Nice work.  ~640

Grammar: 2/2 - Pretty good overall

27 point = 27-point (marginal)

season in S45 = year in S45 (sounds kind of funny, just a suggestion)

Appearance: 1/1 - yes
