I don't disagree nor agree with your statement. That QUE G posted insane number is great. That doesn't mean i have to accept a stupid rule that prevented me to play in the playoff. However, stating that it wouldn't have make a difference is false. Anything is anyone's game with STHS with any change.

Probably the most ridiculous post I've seen on this site today, I'd say this week but I think Beavis has you beat. You and the rest of Quebec want to toss blame around when the blame lies solely with your incompetent GM. I don't see what the big deal is anyway, there is no way Quebec was winning a game against Stopko. Just look back at the last 8 seasons, it's like you guys thought you stood a chance in this seasons playoffs or something which is asinine.

    1. We’re not micromanaging the teams, that’s the whole point. What would you like us to do, post updates for them every week to show if they are doing what they are supposed to be doing or not? It is part of their job and they all know it. We can hardly say “hey, you haven’t played your backup enough” every single week when we have no way of knowing what their plan is and have the same visible information they do. What I will say is that perhaps we could mention it in the trade deadline thread. Just a quick update on where teams are in relation to the rule so they know a few weeks ahead of time if they are in trouble. 2. The rule exists so that teams with an active backup don’t get hurt playing that backup. You take it out the advantage goes to teams who don’t use cap space on a backup and thus fewer goalie jobs then we already have. That doesn’t make sense. It sounds fine for a team with a CPU to say they shouldn’t have to play him but it needs to be universal so that means teams with an active should be able to bench him all season which isn’t fair. 3. As I’ve mentioned several times, punishment for next season could easily punish a team too much or not at all depending on the situation. Having it be this season is the fairest outcome. They broke the rules this season, they pay the price this season. Same as Helsinki did yet none of their players are complaining about it. I don’t understand how this is turning into you guys thinking it’s some kind of corruption of power grab thing. These rules were listed prior to the season with the list of punishments. It was all there for everyone to see and no one had an issue with it until their team was involved. But please, tell me more about how I’m biased. I don’t understand how your GM has accepted the ruling and accepted the blame but you guys are still putting it on the league as if we arbitrarily decided to screw you. There’s no conspiracy, there’s no power hungry elite. Hell, @Quik was punished too. All I see is people fine with the rules until those rules bite them.

This being a rule was fully discussed and Beaviss was involved with it. It's pretty simple to check Games Started in the index, and I did it no problem when I was GM. @Arthur not sure why you have to talk major shit about the VHL being a retarded brother of a sim league, but it is what it is. A lot of the people in the VHL are here because the SHL is a gong show. SHL has far more controversies and immature arguments. This rule is very simple to keep track of. Anybody can start their first 8 games of the season with the backup and get it done right away. I understand the frustration, but I don't thing you're going across it quite right. That's probably about as mad as I was when my 1000 TPE goaltender got beaten out by a 400 TPE one a few seasons ago in the playoffs, posting under .900 saves while the 400 TPE guy had like .930, even though in the regular season my goalie was the best one.

Teams I want to play for

This is of course going to be in no specific order so don't read too much into it. 1. The HC Davos Dynamo - Thanks to good ol Victor, this team has legit been one of the franchises that I actually love playing for. It doesn't really matter who the GM is, I just enjoy the color scheme and the fact that my first real player was there. My first one technically was full VHLM but Davey Jones was a star when he played for the Dynamo. I could see no better fit for Dallas, (Davey's son), than to actually play where his father did. 2. The Moscow Menace - This one seems awesome. It's a brand new franchise and you get to make a mark on a new franchise to hopefully set some records. Plus the upside to this one is that I would actually get to be GM'ed by the young bull himself again, Victor. Kind of seems like a win win here if I am being honest.

    Kirby

No game time this year for Kirbsson

He was a late arrival to the VHLM but it seems the season is over before it even began for Swedish new boy Maximilian Kirbsson. Saskatoon are out of the play offs, and so, to the dismay of fans around Canada, Kirbsson will not feature at all this season! Something interesting to track will be where his future actually lies. A dispersion draft that is upcoming means that Kirbsson may never end up taking to the ice at Saskatoon... quite a crazy thought considering! We managed to speak to him briefly after practice: ”Yeh I’m very disappointed. Coach told me that I was slated to be starter at Center, and I was ready to go man. But hey, the league decided to block it, and so be it. I will live to fight another day and I’ll definitely be pumped for next season, where ever that may be”. We also went on to ask Kirbsson about what he will be working on this off season: ”I’ll definitely be trying to improve defensively. It’s obviously important to be able to defend better to be an all arounder. Other than that, I guess a bit of scoring too. Everyone knows me as an assist king but being a dual threat Center is definitely one of my main aims going forward”.

Fair ruling, fair punishment - lot´s of comedians in this league. Equally fair to say that we could have been playing better offensively if Arthur was in net? No slobby rebounds that kept the play going, no penalties that could have been caused soon after bot failed to control the puck etc etc? Or why teams decide to play their bot goalies only the minimum required during the season if they are this good?

How about Rayne and Jones? Two defenders who are retiring, their last chance in playoffs sabotaged by individuals who are drunk with power and who run around on their high horse and dish out whatever penalties they feel is right. Is that fair? How about other players in the team who put in the work to be active in this league, but their chances in playoffs were sabotaged? I don´t care what you people say on what could have happend and what happened with the actual games and the numbers, I want the number one goalie in net over a bot goalie in the playoffs. This punishment reminds me of how someones big brother will not tell to the parents about what the little brother did as long as he does something stupid, ´hey little bro, go roll on dog shit or I´m telling´, the big brother gets to have his fun and little brother looks equally silly with dog poo all over him. Whatever the little brother did, is not as bad as the bigger brother forcing the little one do something like that, no real lessons were learned, just negativity.

I mean, most rules regarding punishment have gray area. If you box yourself in by making it completely black and white then there is no room to adjust for extenuating circumstances. That’s not to say that cases will be treated differently, but that obviously there can be special cases that require more or less punishment than the norm. For example, if Beaviss or myself were to screw up again next season, it’s entirely possible that more than just playoff games are the punishment. At at the end of the day, GMs all knew that if you made the playoffs and broke the rules, this would be the punishment. It’s not even like it was inconsistent, I suffered the same fate, and I’m a commissioner. As much as Arthur may want to believe the punishment isn’t laid out clearly, his GM knew the consequences and while Beaviss thought he met the minimum, it was easy enough to verify before the end of the season.

The fact you jump straight to mixing a homophobic insult into your chirps is sad and really only self deflating for you. The legendary Robbie running out of insults to throw, starting to reuse the same material kids have been using since the 80's? Shame I wasn't around here in your prime, but then again legends are usually more disappointing in person; not even worth my time and effort, enjoy your last player on VHL.

    Hunter Wagner Rookie Profile

Name: Hunter Wagner Age: 19 Position: LW Height: 71 in. Weight: 180 lbs. Birthplace: Paderborn, Germany Short Bio Hunter excelled early on with his skating and hockey abilities, and tore through junior leagues with ease. It wasn't until he reached his teen years he began to struggle, as players began to match his skill. After some time to reflect, he realized he needed to apply himself if he wanted to succeed. Putting down the Playstation controller, he doubled his efforts and it began to show. Winning one regional championship and begin named to the U18 all German all-stars was an honor for him, and after being scouted he decided to declare for the VHL draft. Strengths Shooting Accuracy - Hunter has always had a good shot throughout his young career so far, and his wrist shot is deadly. Through his late teens, Hunter had season with more than thirty goals in roughly twenty games, and had a deadly accuracy rating of over forty percent from the slot, and nearly the same from the circle. His accuracy earned him many double teams, which did cut his chances dramatically, but helped his team in the long run win many games. If you're looking for a sniper than Hunter is your man. Teamwork - Hunter has always been good on and off the ice with his teammates. Though he tends to be quiet, he speaks up when needed, can listen or lead, and has a great hockey sense of anticipating his teammates actions. He can move into position to body block, or screen, or read a pass before it's made, and is good at assessing and assisting teammates with plays, talking over what could have been done from both ends, and making sure next time, everyone is ready to make he big play. Speed/Agility - Hunter has always been a fast an agile skater, able to outrun his opponents easily on the ice, and earning breakaway or odd man rush situations due to his ability to react and reach speed faster. His ability to be so agile also allows him to avoid contact often, creating situations where defenders are taken out of a play due to a missed hit or checking opportunity gone wrong. His quick skates keep defenders on their toes often, and keeps Hunter in the back of their minds as a big threat. Weaknesses Strength - Hunter may be agile, and lethal in his shooting ability, but he's not the strongest guy on the ice. When contact is made, he can be removed from the puck and put on his backside a little too easy for his liking, and though he plans to work on that, it is a sore point to his game. Due to this fact, he does have an above average turnover rate compared to many players, which, despite his speed and ability to get back into the play, leads to scoring situations for the opponents .Penalty Shots - Despite all his scoring ability, the task of reading a goaltender in a one on one situation is difficult for Hunter. His final season in his last league, Hunter went an abysmal three for thirty on penalty shots in practices. Luckily for the team and himself, the league only had three penalty shots all season and none of them required his stick, but counting on him to make the big play to finish a game in a shootout would not be an idea to be fancied. Checking - Hunter isn't one to make contact with a defender. His checking ability is lackluster, and he's not great at fore or back checking either. His physical abilities seem limited to accuracy, and skating, so being able to dislodge the puck from his opponents by force is not a strong suit, and should not be relied upon. Projection Hunter will likely make a strong sniper for teams looking for a strong scoring presence, and can be dangerous on the powerplay unit as well as any even strength situation. His lack of physical ability beyond speed may hurt him in some situations and limit any penalty killing situations, but regardless, he will be a good locker room presence for teams that draft him, and will likely have a good time with his slick sense of humor.

@Arthur I totally understand your frustration but this is something that was discussed before, and @Beaviss was fully a part of the conversation when deciding the punishment. GMs are aware that if you make the playoffs, a failure to start a second goalie means the second goalie will make up those games in the playoffs. The other language is in case a team that misses the playoffs fails to meet the requirements, they aren’t getting off without any punishment, or if there’s repeat offences (which, this is the second straight season Quebec has failed to meet the minimum) As much as it sucks that you missed the games, at the end of the day it wasn’t the difference in the series. Unless you were going to post 2 shutouts, goaltending wasn’t even the problem. Hell, I was hit with the same punishment and @Sonnet wasn’t allowed to start our first game against Riga...

What kind of fucking backward ludicrous punishment is this? This whole rule is a fucking joke with punishment being subjective. No shit everyone i know talk about the VHL as the retard little brother of sim league. There's no reason the punishment fall only on the GM when the simmer can possibly mess up as well. Beaviss mentioned the simmer failed to upload Quebec's line for THREE FUCKING DAYS. Jesus, i know full well it's not hard to import lines in the sim engine. There is no reason this should have gone for three days. Why isn't the simmer responsible of fucking over GMs as well like that? Fuck, being a simmer and hating a team, maybe i wouldn't want to play a back up goalie if the punishment they can get is to NOT PLAY THEM IN THE PLAYOFF. IT'S THE FUCKING PLAYOFF. What's better to fuck over a team that preventing them to play their starter. I'm highly surprised no one actually commented on this. Like no one care because that's one less team in the playoff? can't wait it fucking happen to them because this is ridiculous. That's the first league i see actually punishing a team in the playoff for something so fucking useless as back up games. I get you guys want to show you are 'serious' about your backup game but this is clearly not the way to go. Why do you feel the fucking need to punish a player that didn't do anything because a simmer was too incompetent to load game and a gm smart enough to check the difference between game played and game started? Thanks for nothing asshole because that's what you just did. As well as fucking my team over in playoff on something they don't really control, since the simmer can do whatever the fuck they want at anytime, it seems. Shit those backup game didn't even matter in the standing. This is basically a big joke. It's like you decided to nuke japan after Pearl Harbor. If this is a way to fix your league's goalie problem, i mean you almost suceeded to free a starter job. On that, i would recomand you to go listen to a specific song of Lily Allen because that's the only thing this league deserve. hopefully this end up in copy pasta 😎

Expnasion mock draft from Riga GM

Less useless intro shit, more actual talk. My take on an upcoming expansion draft right down below! CALGARY WRANGLERS Protected players: (S58) C - Jasper Canmore (GM player) (S62) D - Cayden Saint (S62) D - Lando Baxter (S62) C - Oleksiy Revchenko (S63) RW - Wlodziemierz Zajaczkowski (S64) C - Mark Gebauer (S64) RW - Diljodh Starload (S64) G - Brick Wahl It's not hard to predict what Bash is going to do. S63-64 are pretty much auto protected since letting them go would be a suicide. The only potential question could be about Saint and von Moltke. But the defenceman has more TPE than the guy who was terrorizing goalies back in his VHLM days. They are both inactive, but at Cayden still has more potential. I'm not even sure if any of S62 players will stay in Calgary for a long time (maybe except for Revchenko). But for now, it's easy to name protected players and I believe Bash already figured it out without our mocks. MOSCOW MENACE CHOOSES: (S62) LW - Karl von Moltke Obvious. Karl is way younger than McKnight who only has one season left. Victor picks him and will hope that Alec is coming back at some point. This player will never become a VHL star though and will serve as the second line player for Moscow unless he indeed comes back. QUEBEC CITY MEUTE, soon to be VANCOUVER WOLVES Protected players: (S60) G - Tristan Iseult (S61) D - Samuel Gate (S61) C - Beau Louth (GM player) (S61) LW - Marvin Harding (S62) C - Rauno Palo (S62) LW - Jake Davis (S63) RW - Jorgon Weyed (S64) D - Jagger Philliefan Quebec is another team with almost all obvious picks. Can you imagine Beav not protecting Gate? Or Harding? Or Palo? Yes, he still can't count to 8 and this could screw his team chances in an upcoming wildcard series. And yes, he will protect all of high TPE guys. I also imagine Toby Fitzgerald is not going to be the 8th guy being protected: he pretty much went inactive and never bothered to add these banked TPE to his build prior. The harderst question here would be Philliefan or Nathan N? But I believe the answer is easier than we could've thought. First of all, Philliefan is a defenceman and Quebec-Vancouver will definitely need one. Also, Nathan has less TPE. I think I don't need to explain why Beav won't protect Mulligan despite of a solid TPE ammount. This build just isn't it and this team doesn't needs another hitter. MOSCOW MENACE CHOOSES: (S62) LW - Konstantin Mulligan I was thinking for quite time about it. I won't be surprised if Victor will take Nathan instead. He isn't the most active TPE earner. However, he is two seasons younger and looks like he will have a better build. But now the question is: can he become a franchise player for Moscow? I don't think he would be able to take this role with his current TPE earning pace. And with Vic fully emracing the tanking mode, he is just going to take Mulligan simply because why not. And he has more TPE and such things. HC DAVOS DYNAMO Protected players: (S61) D - Alvaro Jokinen (S63) LW - Randoms (S64) G - Finn Davison (S64) D - Piotr Jerwa (S64) LW - Elias Dahlberg (S64) RW - Pat Svoboda (S64) RW - John Madden In other cases, Jokinen might have been an iffy player. But any questions about him are automatically deleted when you check whose player he is. I don't think Shawn will risk to fuck up his relationship with Ahma. Other 50/50 question is about whether to protect Jerwa or pick other interesting prospect, like Dan Baillie. At the end of the day, Katie Warren is a forward and pulling a Helsinki in a rebuilding team by playing with 7-8 active forwards might not be the best choice. So Glade will keep a defenceman and hope Maj will consider about returing to his previous activity. MOSCOW MENACE CHOOSES: (S64) RW - Dan Baillie Wcats was drafted by Riga in last draft. The same team Podrick Cast is playing for right now. And the Menace GM definitely knows 'Cats activity and will make an obvious choice. It's also possible that Dan may become a first line player next season. It depends on other off-season acquirements by Moscow, but one thing is clear - they won't pass on this guy. HELSINKI TITANS Protected players: (S62) C - Dan Montgomery (S62) LW - Vesto Slipher (S63) G - Alexander Pepper (S63) D - Sidney Crosby (S63) D - Jesse Wilson (S63) LW - Julian Borwinn (S63) RW - Vaydar Odinsson (S64) C - Kronos Bailey (GM player) Quik might be one of rare GM's who will like an expansion draft. His team boasts of a serious depth, but that can't last long and some players will need to go regardless. I think this list protected players is 100% correct. Montgomery isn't that active like he was supposed to be, but Helsinki will need a center. Also, he still has more TPE than his draft peer in Paolo Nano. Joey Boucher is another active player going unprotected, but he is still behind other forwards and there's nothing he can do about that, sadly. MOSCOW MENACE CHOOSES: (S62) D - Paolo Nano I believe Moscow won't take much defencemans in an upcoming off-season so this pick could make sense. Paolo is another ex-Riga player so it also could play a part in this pick. The main reason why I'm seeing Paolo being taken by the Menace GM is he's more consistent than Joey. Also, he is a bit more active in boards. NEW YORK AMERICANS Protected players: (S62) G - Ismond Kingfisher (GM player) (S62) RW - Roctrion King (S63) D - Joseph McWolf (S63) RW - Dan Wilinsky (S64) D - Ryan Sullivan Jr. (S64) C - Joel Ylonen (S64) C - Ryan Zabby (S64) RW - Matthew Materazo Why this Materazo dude reminds me of Marco Materazzi? Oh right, very similar last name for some reason. Anyways, he is one of players than I put into the protection list. He seems more active and promising than either Eric Parker, Anton Adwin or Sven Hitz. Another interesting question concerns Scott Shawinganen. He has more TPE than Zabby or Matthew and his performance is telling us he is feeling nice in the Big Apple. Also, Zabby is hardly a center at this moment. But these are only positives about Scott. There is pretty much one reason why protecting him wouldn't make much more sense than Zabby or Materazo. The S63 sixth overall pick is basically inactive right now. It won't take a lot of time for Zabby to dump Scott out of a 2C position. And Matt_O is simply active and more promising than other S64 send downs or Scott. There is always a chances that Corn could come back and at least start to claim a welfare, but will it be much better for NY then? The answer remains unclear even in this case. MOSCOW MENACE CHOOSES: (S63) C - Scott Shawinganen Yes, Moscow is not going to compete for some time and they would need an active youngsters. But are Parker, Hitz or Edvin good enough for that? Erik will graduate to the VHL league, but won't make a big impact regardless and isn't a first pair defence material even for an expansion team. And other two won't be called up. So why just not to take a decent player even is he's inactive. Scott will make sure Moscow won't suck completely. SEATTLE BEARS Protected players: (S60) LW - Veran Dragomir (S61) G - Roger Sterling (S61) D - Robert Malenko (S61) LW - Matt Thompson (S61) RW - Sergei Kovalev (S62) Vyacheslav Smirnov (GM player) (S62) D - Maxim Kovalchuk (S64) C - Gucci Garrop Bana has an intersting choice. Either to approach the easiest way and protect Garrop or adding some spice in this off-season and not let Komarov to just spite Goon. However, it's more smart to save Gucci. He can try to have fun and not let a Russian defenceman to his home, but Goon might just to stay at 199 TPE and continue to bank them to make a counter spite. Will Seattle be interested in a defenceman who might even be worse than Thunderfist? Especially when next season might be the last competitive season for them. It's just better to take Garrop and try to end it on a high note. MOSCOW MENACE CHOOSES: (S64) D - Evgeni Komarov Enough said. The Russian is drafted by a Russian team. Goon is happy, Seattle will have a better D line, everybody are happy. End of the story. RIGA REIGN Protected players: (S61) C - Mikka Pajari [?] (S61) C - Podrick Cast (S61) RW - Edwin Preencarnacion (S62) LW - Ryuu Crimson (S62) LW - Leph Twinger (S62) D - Shawn Glade (S63) D - Ryan Kastelic (S63) G - Kallis Kriketers (GM player) I assume this is what majority would think about when they were making or will make their own mock protection list. And if I wasn't Riga GM, this would be my guess. I mean, there is nothing surprising about that, right? All of them are more or less active and consistent at TPE earning. The most intrguing question for some members is Pajari or Peace. It's indeed hard to figure it out who is going to win this mini race for being protected. Peace is two seasons younger than Mikka and his TPE earning rate is definitely better. However, Mikka has a positional edge over Rylan: he's a decent 2C. The next best center in Riga could be Curtis Gary. And while he has a decent activity so far, 250-260 TPE might be too little for having a good rookie season. It's just even second line centres these days has more than 350 TPE and this is not good news for this youngster. Will Riga find a similar level but younger C, the situation turns 180 and Rylan is protected. At this moment it's unclear as hell, but the position saves Mikka despite him being two seasons older. Perhaps. MOSCOW MENACE CHOOSES: (S63) RW - Rylan Peace [?] Victor will gladly take a Riga player and it won't even matter who. I think he will be happy with taking any of Riga player at this moment, whether it's Rylan, Mikka or even one of Kisshan/Blake. The Reign has a lot of interesting players and I will have the guts to tell yall that Riga is going to give the best player out of the non-protected ''draftees''. TORONTO LEGION Protected players: (S58) RW - Adam Warlock (S59) D - Luc-Pierre Lespinau-Lebrunette (S59) LW - Ewan R. Lawson (S60) LW - Oyorra Arroyo (S62) G - Johnny Havenk Carisson (S63) LW - Chace Trepanier (S63) D - Tzyuu (S64) G - JB Rift (GM player) The last team in this article and this was kinda easy. Why Warlock instead of other player, like Bronstein? I feel like Devise will prefer to have a forward because Arroyo will need at least some support after Irosnide leaves Toronto. Stevo isn't really active and not even being consistent with claiming a welfare. Neither is Green. But like I said, being a forward saves him from being exposed. Also, Carisson will finally become a starter since Rift will be too raw for the big league now. MOSCOW MENACE CHOOSES: (S61) D - Lew Bronstein Nothing else to pick. There is only Lavar Ball left and he's inactive as hell and isn't holding any value. Taking a younger semi-active player is a much better choice. PROJECTED MOSCOW MENACE LINEUP AFTER AN EXPANSION DRAFT: LW - C - RW Mulligan - Shawinganen - Peace [?] von Moltke - CPU - Baillie Komarov - Nano Bronstein - CPU Nixon* *Let's be honest, nobody else will need a goalie. Moscow needs a goalie. Nixon is the best S65 goalie at this moment and it's safe to say he will become the Menace player real soon. So here it is. An article about an upcoming expansion draft and even their potential lineup. Again, eveything can change and it's not certain Pajari will be protected instead of Peace or probably someone else. But I feel like this could be more or less accurate. Can't wait for this off-season to start. That's it and I'm not out yet. 6x4+6=30 TPE goes to Kallis 28.01 - 03.02 = 12 TPE 04.02 - 10.02 11.02 - 17.02 18.02 - 24.02

Throwing a border around this render would give it a more aesthetic and finished look I think. Not much to critique on this as its just a stick pick with a logo swap. Pretty good placement of the logo and even though that's the logos color, I'd probably try to change its color to match closer to the orange on the jersey. Nice touch with the pant logo as well. Be cool to see some filters, fonts or something more to the SIG thrown in. Dont know what else to say about this but I would like to see more time and effort spent on this as I know you have some gfx skills!
