  3. Another regular season has come to a close. That means we can dole out some regular season awards! Welcome everyone to the 2nd Annual Unofficial VHL Regular Season Awards for S67. I’m not really sure if I should call these the 2nd annual seeing as the previous awards were only handed out a couple of months ago at the end of S66. How many seasons do we go through in a calendar year, 4, 6, 8? Should this be called the Quadannual (Septannual, Octannual) Unofficial VHL Regular Season Awards? I don’t know. Is that even how you describe an event that happens multiple times in the same ye

    Elmebeck looking for USA

Yes, it's off center. Defence. Tennessee News: What's on your short term list looking like you will be a top 10 to 20 draft for S68? Fredrik Elmebeck: I really don't know, I am hoping for an American destination, but who can tell. TN: Whom? FE: Who. TN: So who do you see as your biggest rival? FE: For the draft? There are a lot of more skilled defencemen than me, but the only only one above me from this year is probably the erotically charged @Esso2264, we have no sexual relationship though. TN: What? FE: Just a play on his name instead of making a joke on circumcisio

    ELO and the VHLM

So if you haven't already seen my previous articles on ELO and the VHL, go look em up now, there's four of them. The first explains my basic methodology and some of the terms that I'll be referring to here. I've completely overhauled the formulae and adjusted it to work for both the VHL and VHLM, so I'll dive a bit more into the changes I've made here assuming you've already got a basic understanding of ELO and the VHL. First, a fun graph: This is ELO tracked from S67 Game 1 in the VHLM and tracked across the entire season. Each team starts at 1000 and gains and lo

  6. Following an amazing draft by the incomparable @Banackock, the Seattle Bears suffered a disappointing back half to their season, barely (bear-ly) missing the playoffs after a few close defeats. There is hope though, as the young team had several statistical leaders among its crop of players. A quik breakdown of the Bears' core in S67 for players drafted S66 or later: Acyd Burn @Acydburn - Top 50 in league-wide goal scoring, Top 25 in league-wide shots, Top 50 in league-wide Powerplay Goals, Top 50 in league-wide Points per 20 minutes played, 5th overall in Rookie Scoring

  7. Holy crap guys. I’m hyped, like super seriously hyped. I’ve come a long way from the country. We made the playoffs. Really we outclassed everyone. There are lots of good teams in this league, but in the regular season we were the best. We were number 1. This team is just amazing. But it’s playoff time. I never ever thought I would make it this far. I figured I couldn’t hack it or wouldn’t like being a backup, but wow. What a season, what a team. I love these guys. Everyone gives 100% I know I’m rambling, but I’m stoked. I’ve also spent some time talking to a few general manage

  10. Adrienne hopes expansion teams will be in lottery Condor Adrienne is a weird person, but that is something new. After shouting the whole season about having Malmo and Moscow as his main targets he has shifted his targets over the last weeks. With the announcement of the incoming expansion Adrienne would love to the first pick in franchise history for either of the new franchises. After having talked to both the expansion GM’s he would definitely be on board for joining them despite knowing that he will not win with them anytime soon. But there might be one small issue and that

It's that time of the week again ladies and gentleman, I am here to grace you mortal beings with a beautifully written 150 word article about... VHL.com articles. Now, I think that VHL.com tasks are great, simple tasks that you can do to earn a quik 2 tpe. There are many forms of it, it can be a podcast, simple graphic, or even a 150 word article, such as the one you are currently reading. My problem is with people expecting a lot of effort, for just a simple task. If we take a gander at: It states that: I can assur

Spirits are quite high, however, as the team looks to ways to keep its young talent ahead of the upcoming expansion draft. The Bears, more than any other team, are banking on the development of it’s young stars and their continued success. Most of their pieces have proven themselves to be excellent in their rookie season, with strong Rookie of the Year contender Rayz Funk being the standout of the group. “Rayz can be hard on himself sometimes,” says team

  20. Well, it's that time of the year again. The playoffs are upon us, as eight teams will battle it out for the leagues 67th Continental Cup. Last year, we saw the Helsinki Titans dominate and win it all, but this year has the Toronto Legion in that position, and seeds two through six are separated by only three points. Lets look at the series that pins the defending North American Conference Champion with a team that many predicted would win it all this year. Back for more

Another up and another down. "Classic Da Trifecta move." "It's no surprise he did that." "Over under 3.5 seasons in the VHL before retiring." All words that have been said before but still don't phase me. I know exactly what I do when I decide to retire early then recreate again. I know I have the same people who will say that same song and dance over and over again and I am content with those words. See when you are in the same position that I am in, you get used to it. Oh well, I am who I am and nothing will change that. I have never been one for long careers which is probably why I try to s

  23. @Beaviss There is a pretty important typo - you have to edit "Defenceman" to "Defencemen". Because you are using plural form for forwards and goalies but decided to go with singular for defencemen.

  24. The Music of the VHLM By A. Simon-Cowell-Type Part 7 Welcome back to The Music of the VHLM! This is the 7th installment of this series, and our second-to-last team. Mexico has come and gone through our looking glass, and today we are moving on to a team that many think might make a deep playoff run this postseason. Of course the regular season has finished, and at the end of it all, one team stands apart from the others; but in 4th place. 25. Hans Gruber was drafted 28th overall by the Wolves in the S66 draft, and had a hard time adjusting to his limited ice time. In 72 games, he scored 8 goals and added 21 assists. Not terrible for a rookie, but he did what he could with him minimal ice time. This season, Gruber was promoted to the 2nd line and had the chance to play with the league leader in points, Rauno Palo. Gruber scores 22 goals and had 23 assists for 45 points. This was all done with limited playing time, only seeing the man advantage as a spare. The successful season could put GM Beaviss in a hard spot, as he has a number

I think we have the edge, @FrostBeard has a keen sense for tactics, @Dalton Wilcox is in the top of the league, we have a very good defense and @Strooper99 has been awesome in goal and has hit a peak for the playoffs. 3. @JeffD without doubt. 4. I was actually surprised they overtook Philly Pepper and Minnie Dorm, so it's actually hard to say, Looks like their first two lines have some punch. But yeah, I am surprise

The Titans acquired their 40th win of the season; a decisive 6-1 win over the leagues last place team from New York. This week will mark the start of the season 67 playoffs where Helsinki will receive a buy into round two where they will face the winner of the Menace and Reign. Should The Titans move past their eventual opponent, they would successfully achieve their fourth consecutive finals appearance. Helsink

  35. So, as a former expansion GM myself (albeit for a different league), I thought it might be fitting to throw down some of my thought process as I looked to establish the Houston Bulls. Now, the approach to building a good VHLM team is far different from that of a VHL team, but I think some of these points still hold valid through the transition. Now, enough talking- here are some of the main points I think of when starting a team from the ground up. 1) Branding Now, anyone who has ever seen a post of mine knows how important this is to me. The number one thing I wanted when I f

How do you prepare for this matchup? 2 Who on the team needs to step up his game if we want to make it to the 2nd round? 3 Among the other teams in the playoffs, who do you think has the best odds of bringing the S67 Founder's Cup home? 4 In the same vein, if you followed the VHL season, who do you think has the best odds of taking the S67 Continental Cup? 5 Do you embrace or deny the rumours that say the

    Who is Eno Rama?

Who is Eno Rama, the VHL GM? Well, no one knows, so I won't speculate. What I'll talk about instead is what he symbolises as he is now promoted to the role of VHL expansion GM. Over the past week I have been working on compiling a list of when the league's current members joined the league – the results are quite interesting and will be used in a Media Spot in the near future. But the key point is Eno was one of the first new members who started this league's renaissance in the 60s. S62 was the first big first-gen draft with guys like ShawnGlade, Josh, SlapshotDragon, among others, but S63 was
