  1. Moving on to our newest, but quickly becoming among the most valued awards, the Frederik Elmebeck Trophy. Named in the honor of Frederik Elmebeck, a wonderful man who engaged our community with incredible passion and positivity before he was taken from us all far too soon. This award is to honor the lasting legacy of Elmebeck by recognizing the member who best served the VHL community. This season, the nominees, as selected by you, the VHL community, are: @bigAL, for his energetic leadership with the World Juniors Championship, along with his podcast, donations, and work with the V

  4. The awards presentation is nearly over, but I just wanted to drop in and say thank you to those of you who nominated me for the Frederik Elmebeck Trophy! I'm so honored to have been the designated winner of such a prestigious award, and I deeply appreciate the grace this community has given me as I approached it with a new and scary topic. I hope to see the league continue to grow in this direction of inclusivity in the coming seasons!! Thank you again! I'd also be crazy to overlook the huge impact that my fellow nominees have had on the community in the past season. Congratulation

  5. Let's start off with our new champions! Looking back, the Malmo Nighthawks had one of the most unlikely runs to the top in VHL history. Moving Lewis Dawson at the trade deadline especially didn't seem like a move a team looking to win a Cup would make, but the results speak for themselves. With the legendary Condor Adrienne in his final season, the likes of Ray Shields, Chris Hylands, Marshall James Frostbeard, Guy Saskamoose, and Grekkark Gyrfalcon rallied together to go on an incredible run, defeating Warsaw and Moscow on their way to take on another expansion franchise seeking their first t

  7. That just about does it, folks! With the conclusion of this awards show, the 75th season of the Victory Hockey League will unofficially come to an end, as all eyes will shift towards the Season 76 VHL Entry Draft. It doesn't seem to matter how many times it's said, it still boggles my mind to think that we've now completed 75 seasons! It says a lot about the faithful dedication and commitment that this community has, and it's truly special. Don't want to delve too deeply into that, however, as a very special article commissioned by a @WentzKneeFan036 is on the horizon and will give this subjec

  9. Great players dominate the regular season, but a true legend shines when everything is on the line in the playoffs. Tonight, we recognize the MVP of the S75 Playoffs with the Daisuke Kanou Trophy! Although coming up on the losing end, DC Dragons goaltender Stone Wolski @DollarAndADream was stellar in net, with a .929 save percentage and 10 wins. Grekkark Gyrfalcon @Sharkstrong was equally strong, putting up a .927 save percentage and 12 wins. Ray Sheilds @Zetterberg led the eventual champions with 28 points, including the Cup-clinching goal in Game Six, while Chris Hylands @Hylands scored 14

  10. The VHLM delivered another great batch of rookies in Season 75, but only one can be the Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy winner! Awarded to the player deemed to be the top rookie of the year, we had four rookies who really made a case for themselves this season! Rhynex Entertainment @Rhynex Entertainment led all rookies in Season 75 with 89 points, making a dangerous duo with fellow rookie Gary Rush @G_Rush on the New York Americans, who also put up 85 points of his own. Riga's rookie netminder, Calvin Harvey @Mrpenguin30, put up a stellar season, turning a Reign team many believed to be a door

  11. Next up, we'll stroke the egos of the league's general managers, or at least one of them, with the David Knight Trophy, awarded to the top General Manager of the VHL. Geoffrey Dee @JeffD elevated his Chicago Phoenix to the playoffs for the first time, with some slick trades resulting in a near-Cinderella type of run. Ryan Jubis @Jubis successfully re-tooled the Calgary Wranglers back to the top of the standings with a Victory Cup season. Roger McWolf @McWolf used some big moves to immediately make his London United a contender as they reached the playoffs for the first time. In what became a t

  12. Up first, we have the Alexander Beketov Trophy, annually awarded to the league leader(s) in assists. This season, the top three frontrunners finished just three assists apart. Toronto Legion defenseman Ziarie Anigbogu @ngine4 had a massive breakout season, finishing with 68 assists after scoring 11 points as a rookie. Dagmar Havlova @diamond_ace , in her first season with the Warsaw Predators, admirably attempted to be the first forward since Kronos Bailey in Season 68, but with a nice 69 assists, fell just one short of doing so. But capping off his career in style with a VHL-best 70 assists i

My Thoughts on joining a new League After hearing the boys talk on friday/saturday nights about this simulation league they were playing and hearing how in depth their conversations were I was intrigued to find out more. For one reason so I could be involved in there conversations but also to see how it all worked. I joined a few weeks ago and was waivered ( I think that's the word) to the Saskatoon Wild. My first thoughts on the league were how overwhelmed I was looking at everything going on, discord, forums and a portal! In depth indeed! Through my first few days i h

  17. Next up is the Kevin Brooks Trophy, awarded to the player(s) who led the VHL in goals. However, this season there was only room at the top for one, who separated himself from the pack with two more goals than the competition. Chris Hylands @Hylands was a driving force for the eventual Continental Cup champion Malmo Nighthawks with 44 goals, good for third in the VHL. Toronto's John Merrick @Steve just edged him with 45 goals, falling two short of the league leader, Guy Lesieur @KC15 of the DC Dragons! After Mikko Lahtinen led the league with 61 last season, individual scoring leveled out again

John Merrick - Mikko Lahtinen - Andrew Su Condor Adrienne - Jeff Downey Stone Wolski Making the leap from the All-Rookie Team to the All-VHL First Team is John Merrick @Steve, who only led the VHL in points with 107 to accomplish that feat. He's joined by Andrew Su @Da_Berr, who scored 106 points and was the offensive leader of the Vancouver Wolves. Mikko Lahtinen @Beketov earns First Team honors for the second straight season, as dropping nearly 100 points and repeating as Scott Boulet and Scotty Campbell Trophy winner will certainly do that for you. Winning this trophy is not only huge for a goaltender's Hall of Fame chances, but it awards major bragging rights amongst the tendies as well. Season 75 saw four goaltenders rise above the rest of the pack, and are your finalists for the Aidan Shaw Trophy! Ajay Krishna @Hooperorama had a career season, and aims for further accolades with a Shaw Trophy. 26. One of the most prestigious awards in the VHL, the Sterling Labatte Trophy has been awarded to the player deemed to be the best defenseman in the VHL. It's virtually a prerequisite for any defenseman looking to achieve immortality in the VHL Hall of Fame, and we have another tight race this season, with three finalists! Will Condor Adrienne @OrbitingDeath win his third Sterling Labatte Trophy and further cement his Hall of Fame legacy? Jeff Downey @JeffD is hopeful that his last season will wrap up with a Labatte Trophy after years of being a bridesmaid with VHL awards. Erik Killinger @Peace

  27. On the other hand, the Jake Wylde Trophy is a tremendous badge of honor for the gritty blueliners of the VHL, recognizing the best defensive defenseman in the league. It certainly looks like playing in your own zone was, "in," in Season 75, as we have a whopping six finalists for the award! A pair of New York Americans, Markus Schauer @Plate and Shawn Andrei Zyuzin @TheLastOlympian07, complemented each other very nicely with their different styles of play. Jeff Downey @JeffD makes another appearance tonight, since it turns out he was also pretty stellar in his own zone, along with being an Ale

Hello guys, these last day were hard for me and of course i was feeling a little bit sad, but to cheer me up I choosed to help someone, and maybe someone that was in the same situation as me, so as the drafts are near, here my personal message to the last picks of the vhl/ vhlm draft, as I was a late draft pick too. but let's go back to the my speech. So as you might or might not know, my player ( Matt Thunder, i know hard to tell right?) was a last round pick in the S73 vhlm draft (Las vegas), and he was a second round pick in the S74 vhl draft (RIga), not good i know, i bet that i

  34. Scotty Kaberle came into the VHLM in Season 74 as a relative unknown. His humble beginnings in Saskatoon proved to be a great launching pad for Kaberle, as he acted as a sponge and just soaked in all the coaching and information he possibly could from his coaches and managers. He really hit the ground running and by the time the Season 75 draft rolled around, Kaberle was making rumblings across both the VHLM and the VHL as a player who was developing at an elite rate, and perhaps he was someone who could move up in the draft. Sure enough,at pick 11, Toronto traded up as they felt they had to s
