I don't know how one beats locker room chemistry, there is no physical form to hit?

2. Jason and VLG are both very high up scoring lists and have proven to be our top 2 offensive juggernauts - do you feel that will be enough to do good in playoffs??
Depends on a lot of circumstances - can it be? Yes. Will it be? Won't know until the games get played.

3. City of Washington recently released a statement saying that their favourite sports franchises are Wizards and Capitals. How important it is for Dragons to make it into that Top 2?
Poor Nationals, they win a World Series and less than 5 years later the Wizards are preferred to them.

4. Backup goaltender Geoff Bezos has been stellar this season, do you feel that if things go sour, we need to give him few more starts?
If things go sour, it's because he's gotten too many games, tbh.

5. Ben Laas and Justin Adolfsen have both already appeared in Viking Brandy commercials and the brand says their sales went up 23% after those commercials aired - do you feel that more of our players should go and start working with Dragons main sponsor?
Yes, work with all the sponsors and we can start a Prime series about the Dragons and make Wrexham FC a thing of the past

6. Mark Calaway and Ryuji Sakamoto have both been incredibly influencial for our squad this season, do you feel their presence in the LR and do you think that resigning both Calaway and Sakamoto is important for our franchise?
I think HR would get involve if I felt their presence, but keeping them on the team is probably a net positive!

2. Probably not, playoffs definitely have less offense and teams will be figuring out how to shut them down. Need our secondary scorers to step up.
3. I don't think it matters, the Dragons are definitely playing for the European market.
4. It's definitely an option, but more of a last resort.
5. Probably not, Lass and Adolfsen are just really sexy, if we put Geoff Bezos in there no way he's selling anything.

I've not paid attention to the league for a few seasons, riding the bench as a back up is demanding work, so I've got no clue if this is true or not, but per OD, FB is bad at his job so I'll disagree.

2. Jason has recently got into trouble after he was carried out of a nightclub by assistant GM Ivo Willems, some local news outlets have called it a 'disgrace to the sport of Hockey' - what do you think about this situation?
Who is Jason? That's neither here, nor there, really - the real disgrace is media reporting on this. Back in my day, a guy would show up hungover and it'd be reported as flu like symptoms, and everyone would just carry on as normal.

3. After long deliberations Viking Brandy brand has signed a 5 season sponsorship deal with D.C. Dragons. Few local breweries and alcoholic bewerage brands are calling this a 'traitorous move'. Do you believe our team should sign Latvian/Danish owned alcohol brand or should we focus on something more local?
Whatever pays the bills, baby.

4. It has been reported that D.C. Dragons have widely been rated as the potential 5th Seed in NA, making playoffs. Do you think it is a low/high rating for our team?
Yes.

5. In a recent interview Keita Kourou was called a "untallented and weak player" by anonymous player of Calgary Wranglers roster. What is your reponse to that claim?
DC has two goalies better than Calgary's starter, so my response is git gud.

6. Lucas Grey recently returned to our roster and attended the end of the Training camp after spending some time away with their family. His response to question 'If he is ready to play after not working on his hockey game all of the off-season' he responded by saying 'I am not only ready, I am better that ever!' Do you think having a confidence like that can inspire the whole LR to play and perform better?
Confidence is key in sports. If you go in with anything less, you've already lost.

So I'm not really caught up on league happenings lately, but this is a fantastic way to end that long-winded speech about disregarding league policy and putting other members' well-being at risk. A+
 
BTW, whether or not you believe in second chances, if people are perma-banned, it's usually for a reason, and whether or not you feel that's right, doesn't give the ability to unilaterally make that call. To say you have no regrets, even after being presented evidence that this member was banned for very specific reasons...that's a yikes from me dawg.

So I'm not really caught up on league happenings lately, but this is a fantastic way to end that long-winded speech about disregarding league policy and putting other members' well-being at risk. A+

I like to set lofty goals, so my biggest goal for this season is to play in a game AND win it!

Delete the VHLM and VHLE. Expand the VHL and just have everyone play in one league. Has the added benefit of removing all these bloated commish positions, too!

@Victor isn't a GM anymore, so I'll go with his protege in @Spartan . He learned from the best, so I can't imagine anyone's better in that department now.

I was gonna tag Fong but idk wtf his username is now lol, but he loved that name too 😆

1. I'm most looking forward to playing alongside newcomers Ronan Lavelle and rookie The Mediocre One. I think it'll be a great season with the new faces, including rookie Murdock kicking off his career as a starter.
2. I really liked one of @Quik's old players, or at least I think it was his. ACL Tear, just a great name.
3. It's a weird mix of busy and boring. Some days felt like they were super chaotic and I was spending more time than I wanted around the VHL. Some days felt like the canary in the coal mine was about to go off. Either way, glad to be starting the season in just 2 days.
4. I think Warsaw usually gives us a bit of a challenge, though it's been mixed in recent seasons. Sometimes we smash them, sometimes they smash us. We'll find out I suppose.
5. Pie, I don't like cake icing. I'd go with a nice apple or cherry pie.
6. Sidney Crosby is back to being the default answer since John Marino was traded to New Jersey.

We move on to arguably the most important position in hockey, but first, we will honor the player who gave their name to this trophy and someone who played the last hockey of his career this season, Orian D H Chiester IX. Remember Istanbul's Cinderella story? There were two reasons why. Geoff Bezos and Fuukka Rask. Some teams struggle to find a worthy netminder, but Kurt Janser had two and the luxury to trade one mid-season. Looking at the nominees' statistics, two of them stand out. Geoff Bezos and DJ Fire Dragon had very similar seasons, but while DJ played for the record-breaking Express, Bezos' season wasn't as "easy". Could this fact help or hinder any of them?

1) A lot of big changes the past week!  What surprised you the most?
I...uh...hmmmmmm...I'll say that I'm most surprised gas went up $0.20/L over a 4 day span last week. That was pretty shocking, since it was holding at ~$1.30/L for a while.

I'm going to go with Leduc, unless we can get someone to change their name to Pedro then I wouldn't bet against Napoleon exploding.
 
3) What music are you hoping New York incorporates for practices this year?
Give me some mother fucking ragtime when we hit the ice!
 
4) Favorite pre-game meal?
As a goalie, who will be getting maybe 15-20 games this season, gotta say my pre-game meals will include a lot of beer and chicken wings. Ain't nobody going to be knocking Aug out of games.
 
5) New York will have alternate jerseys this season; what's your pitch?
Gimme backwards trucker hat wearing Raybans selfie in a pick up truck guy as the most American mascot there is. Bonus points if you can stitch in a "Don't tread on me" phrase somewhere in there.
 
6) Did you follow any of the drafts live?  What were your thoughts on the presentation?
I did not, but I do follow Draft Kings, and did you know you can make live sports bets during the action, right up to the final whistle? Hockey, basketball, football, the opportunities are endless (and so are the fucking commercials)

The year is almost over which means it's time for everyone's favourite time of year in the VHL, the holiday celebration! From the charity drive to the auctions to the free TPE everyone loves the holidays in the VHL!
 
This year, we've chosen The SickKids Foundation for our Canadian side and St. Jude's for our American side. These are, of course just our league-supported charities. As always, you are free to donate your funds to any registered charity anywhere in the world and count it towards the auction and our total numbers; all we ask is a screenshot proving the donation (though please remember to react ay personal information). 100% of the money raised by the league will be donated to the two organizations, and the VHL will not take any cut. On top of that the league has decided to one-up ourselves this year. After our first three charity drives have been huge we've decided to match up to $1000 when the final donation is put in. That means if the league donates $2500 total we'll put the donation up to $3500!
 
In addition to the Donation Drive, we will also kick off our Charity Auction and 12 Days of Christmas. How will it all work? Essentially the same as past years, but here are the exact details for each portion of our holiday season for 2022:
 
Charity Drive: December 11th - 24th
Starting right now, members can begin donating. Whether you do so through the league, by donating HERE, privately to either organization, or any charitable foundation of your choosing (receipt proof required for donations made outside the league), it will all count towards the overall contribution from the league.
 
From that overall contribution, the league will match donations up to $1000 CAD, and add that to the donations through the league, splitting the total contribution (money donated through the league + the league contribution) equally to both organizations.
 
Please post all confirmations of donation, including Paypals through the league, auction wins, and private donations to THIS THREAD. Any donation of $5 CAD, or more, will result in an automatic personal reward of 2 Uncapped TPE + a Full Free Week (12 Capped TPE), as well as an entry to each of the first 3 tiers of the 12 Days of Christmas Raffle.
 
Like last season as well we will be accepting blood donations in the charity drive. Blood is in high demand all year round, but especially at this time. Give the gift of life to someone. If you schedule and follow through with an appointment to donate blood that will count the same as a $5 donation and have the same rewards outlined above and below. For proof just post a photo from during your donation, it doesn’t need to include your face if you don’t want it to, a shot of the machine or your arm or whatever is fine, we’ll take your word for it.
 
As this is the season of giving, members may also donate on behalf of one other user.
