Well, it makes sense. I mean, off the top of my head, the top goalies in the league have similar GAAs, right? So if one faces 15 shots per game, one faces 20, and one faces 30, the guy who faces 30 per game has a better save percentage. I think this is more evident in the VHLM where Threencarnacion had the highest save percentage (.908) a few seasons ago with a 3.08 GAA and only 21 wins in 70 games. Conversely, DeGrath had a 1.41 GAA (best in the league) with only a .899 save percentage (5th in the league) with 51 wins(also best in the league). Shots against you ask? 2357 for 3ncarnacion, 980 for DeGrath. 

edit: I know it's only .9% difference but that's 5 spots that particular season.
