  1. Gus, I’m glad you have gotten the same comfort from the league. I don’t think it matters if it’s online, IRL if the bond is there it should be enjoyed. I’ve enjoyed our exchanges in Gen Chat, and I look forward to plenty more in the future!
  2. The VHL has always held a special place in my heart, and I think this speaks to many others here as well. If you are an active member, max earner, staff member, GM, the league likely means more to you than just a simple SIM league. When I was in high school, I joined up because my best friend was big on this league. I always had a big group of friends, but my group of VHL friends I made also had such a special bond. Unknowingly to the league it helped me get through the best and worst times of my life going through and transitioning out of high school. It was a great escape. Here I am, at 30 in a different part of my life and the VHL is doing it for me again. I have gotten married, and had two children the last 2 years. It has been an amazing part of my life, and it has also been an incredibly challenging part of my life. The VHL has yet again come to my rescue. I have so many blessings, and am so thankful for my life. However, change has never come easy to me. Even good change. Promotions, good life changes have always shaken me and take time for me to adjust and then I get to fully feel the joy. The friendships I’ve established minus Kachur/Horcrux have been amazing here. It’s been a nice way to just kick back, relax and have some laughs for a little each day. Also I love contributing to the league in any way I can. I have not been as active as I was on discord since my daughter’s birth, but I will be again once she reaches a few more weeks and we reach the “established zone” as we had with my son. I hope others have felt this positive effect from the league, no matter what you got going on in your life. This may just be a sim league, but it is so much more than that. Alright 2/2 on inspirational Fan590’s the past 2 weeks, I am done!
  3. A privilege to have you on board Fresco!
  4. We are so happy to have you my man! An offer/discord invites will be sent your way. Welcome to Houston!!
  5. Sam, Come to the side where your player can produce playing with other talented players, AND win at the same time. I strongly believe Velociraptor Greg will give us the edge to win it all this season. Plus you get to join the Houston locker room finally! We got a great group, and I would love to have you join what I’ve tried to help @Moon build! If you want to join the Bulls, rely with #HornsUp !
  6. Fresco, join the team who has all the good beer, and is going for a title shot here in Houston! I promise you won’t regret it! What better way to get your career started with your player playing with good players who will give you good stats, and winning at the same time? If you’re interested in joining @Moonmyself and the awesome squad we have here in the Houston Bulls, reply with #HornsUp !
  7. 1. Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver 2. Pokémon Blue/Red 3. Pokémon Gold/Silver 4. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 5. Halo 3 6. Pokémon Diamond/Pearl 7. Zelda: Twilight Princess 8. Mario 64 9. GTA: Vice City 10. Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth
  8. 1. I did make a media spot in regards to this, it’s a boomer dream team for anyone interested lmao. 2. Considering Eno himself is really the only current active team member, I would be fine with it. All about S83! Unless he trades himself, then we got a new issue. 3. Probably somewhere at a Craps or Baccarat table in Atlantic City. 4. I would replace Eno with a very unique animal. It would be an agile peacock, like a chicken with the face of a monkey and fly! 5. What I honestly think would be a fun team idea is each player represents a company or foundation that wants the naming rights of the arena and have to do a pitch. Eno/fishy pick out their favorite name. I would have to save my proposal for then! 6. This is a great question, very tough. Obviously Zach Arce would be a great help to the offense, his build was great in the SIM system. But I would have to choose Tomas Jenskovic. Ultimate two way defenseman, who was a winner. Would be exactly what we need here in DC.
  9. And then S9, the real Davos legend entered
  10. Thank you Peace! Ya know Shrek isn’t too far off the mark lmao. My son absolutely loves Frozen, it is apart of the morning routine. Can’t get him hooked on the other Disney movies like this one, so looks like I won’t be letting go for a while.
  11. My daughter was born on February 13th, super bowl Sunday. It’s been a whirlwind of emotions, trying to make sure our son feels as included as possible as well as adjusting to life with a newborn again. Fortunately I have still been able to max earn and take advantage of TPE opportunities presented to me in the VHL. If having a one week old and a 11 month old can still keep my VHL interest, it would take a lot apparently for it to be taken away. I’ve been a lot less active in Discord, but that will come back as Aurora gets on a schedule. Just letting the league know I’m still here, well alive and earning!
  12. HOUSTON BULLS PRESS CONFERENCE Week ending on February 27th 1. What do you think of VHL Dream Team being the theme week this season? 2. Who is the clear team to beat in the VHLM so far in your opinion? 3. What is your favorite fast food restaurant? 4. How do you feel about your player’s role on the Bulls this season? 5. Who is your favorite team to take down? 6. In your opinion what is the most useless attribute to update in the VHL?
  13. It is that fun time again in the VHL, theme week! My boomer ass is going to put together a very boomer-like VHL dream team. I come from S9, so I have seen a lot of great players go through the VHL through some of the decades. I’d love to say I will not be putting any bias in my dream team, but I totally will. Here is the boomer all-time dream team. Beketov-Brooks-Arce Jacobs-Campbell-D. Funk Bentz-G.Jonsson-Slobodzian Buncleworth-Heidt-Fowler Jenskovic-Henman Labatte-Kendrick Schultz-Beukeboom Devereux CAL-G Line 1/Pair 1: Beketov-Brooks-Arce Jenskovic-Henman Two playmakers, 1 goal scorer. It may be better than the original. Although Kevin Brooks had more assists in his career than goals, Brooks was a goal scorer at heart falling just short of 400. Beketov and Arce were dedicated playmakers. With Beketov and Arce’s superior passing skills, and Brooks laser shot there is zero doubt this may be the most devastating line the VHL could ever see. That Zach Arce guy is one of the most underrated forwards to ever play. He won two MVP’s and led the league in scoring twice for a reason. With them would be the defensive guru David Henman, and clutch two-way defenseman Tomas Jenskovic. Henman had quite the habit of shutting down the league’s top forwards in the golden era. Jenskovic on the other hand was shutting people down and putting the puck in the net at critical times. Those S11 and S14 Davos championships are in large part to Jenskovic and goaltender Benoit Devereux’s play. Line 2/Pairing 2: Jacobs-Campbell-D. Funk Labatte-Kendrick What is this, Scotty Campbell the great one on LINE TWO?! That’s right we are keeping it interesting. The 600 goal scorer would boost fellow 500 goal scorer Dust’n Funk‘s skill set tremendously. Funk was apart of a very successful Riga Reign era, which he was a top, if not the best goal scorer during that time. Mesh that with the balanced power forward Carl Jacobs. This line would skate circles around opposing lines. It would essentially force an apposing team to play a defensive forward line for 25+ minutes a game. They also named the Best Defenseman award after Sterling Labatte for a reason. The guy was a complete menace, absolutely merciless with puck handlers. Also over 700 career points is not too shabby at all to have on the ice with elite goal scorers. Pair him with fellow defensive stonewall Joey Kendrick who is from the same time period and this is just a recipe for success. With a line of pure goal scoring and shut down defense, who would go up against them?! Line 3/Pair 3: Bentz-G.Jonsson-Slobodzian Schultz-Beukeboom A goal scorer (Bentz), a playmaker (Johnsson) and a balanced player (Slobodzian) walk into a bar, what happens? A lot of beers are being served up, that’s what. Matt Bentz had a knack for finding the back of the net for the Wranglers. He has always thrived when paired up with a dedicated playmaker. New York Americans legend Grimm Jonsson was just that. Jonsson rallied over 800 career points with nearly 500 being assists. Brett Slobodzian is one of the most famous names in VHL history. He had a near identical balance of goals and assists in his 600 point career. Add in power play specialist, and one of the most low key HOFers Blake Beukeboom, and the Madrid Thunder’s first ever draft pick Adam Schultz on the helm, how could you go wrong with this as your third line and third pairing? Beukeboom and Schultz would be a clear first line pair anywhere they play, so to have them as your third pair speaks volumes. Line 4/ Goaltenders: Buncleworth-Heidt-Fowler Devereux CAL-G Jardy is getting a shoutout twice in one paragraph! He is the owner of Jardy Buncleworth and CAL-G (not to be confused with the AI CAL-G). Both were Calgary legends, and both would be big impact players on the VHL Dream Team. Cam Fowler was a grinder. Not only did he record just shy of 750 career points, he also recorded over 1400 career hits. Last and not least on this line would be from the early Riga Reign Empire, Layken Heidt. Heidt was the literal center of the Reign production train. Plug him in between a power goal scorer, and a balanced grinder and you will see the best 4th line the league has ever seen. It is crazy to think they would even consider being a “last line”. I consider Benoit Devereux the best backbone goaltender in VHL history. He was completely dominant his first 4 seasons in the league, no one could touch him. Devereux has made his mark in Davos. CAL-G was also a 300 win goaltender, and has also raised the cup. When you also post up a career GAA below 2, what lore could you ask for? Devereux with CAL-G backing him up, you will see maybe one goal getting behind either of them a game with the team in front of them as well. These are my mad scientist ingredients for the ultimate VHL dream team. Although the league has changed drastically since the golden era of the league, this team would still wipe the floor with any other roster thrown on the ice. Factoring in meta, I would like to pretend it wouldn’t exist if any such sim happened. This is because many of these guys had at least 80-99 passing. At the time in the earlier ages of the league, passing was essential and updated to a higher attribute than scoring for those desiring a playmaker. What would happen if we pitted the golden era HOFers against current day VHL All stars/HOFers? Modern day players would have to go toe to toe with original sim legends such as Scotty Campbell, Kevin Brooks, and Sterling Labatte. Not to mention the iconic, legendary Zach Arce! Benoit Devereux alone would be the deciding factor in my opinion. Defosse did such an A+ job with that build. It would be very fun to see, maybe in the future when there is no meta. Words: 1,008 For weeks ending in 2/27 and 3/6
  14. There has been a big circulating question around the league that has just been a giant elephant in the room. Does the VHL cover up scandals to avoid bad PPR? There has been some serious suspicion with the orgins of the VHL’s metavirus that continues to plague it’s simulation system. There is evidence our own simulators have infected the simulator with the virus to tilt results. The blue team has denied all allegations of course, but is this just a bit cover up? The Malmo Nighthawks are also under fire after reports have released of the team having a “frat” culture the last several seasons. These reports that caused mayhem around the league have suddenly gone quiet. Does the VHL have a PR damage control team that dusts charges under the rug?
  15. HOUSTON BULLS PRESS CONFERENCE Week ending on February 20th 1. What should the punishment be for the next person to write about a Houston winning streak? 2. Do you feel Houston has lived up to expectations this far? 3. What team is the most satisfying to beat in your opinion? 4. What did you think of this year’s Super Bowl? 5. What is your go to drink? 6. Where do you think the Bulls can improve going forward?
  16. No one more deserving, congratulations Sam!!
  17. Dil has always been nice to me, I like him. He also has done some great work with the portal, and has been a big contributor to the league in general.
