TheLastOlympian07 got a reaction from Scurvy in OG members
I hear @Quikhas left us since last time I was here. That is sad because he is one of few members who was here since the beginning. I don't know who exactly is left, I wouldnt even count myself in there because I had just gotten back. I am sure Beketov is the most obvious member and he has let me know that @v.2 is back around, he is an OG member. Not only has Quick left, @Kendrickis more or less gone. Not many people got along with him at times but I have always had a good relationship with ol kenny. There is also @gorlabwho is not an OG member in terms of original member but is def an OG person. Man did not care who got hurt by what he said and even though it crossed the line sometimes, there are times where he said what needed to be said when no one wanted too, and chances are we all wanted to say it. GOATlab just had the balls to do it. @Beavissis also gone? He was the GM of my last player who had over 100 TPE, so that is sad. He helped stick with my player despite not getting the results that were expected. He was a good guy, good ol BC boy as Donald S. Cherry would say. I think this is enough words to count as a taask done. It is sad that these guys have moved on, but who knows, maybe they will be back because I have found my way back. VHL has been a big part of my life from before HS to during HS and even afterwards. Now some new members have come and are going through the same thing I have and I think that is so cool. Victory Hockey League is a place a lot of people have grown up together. One of the first online communities before there was such a thing. /rant

The VHL's World Cup has been apart of league activity since, if I remember correctly, around Season 3 or 4, something like that. It was never a fan favorite and lately it still seems that way. However, let that not deter you from me going through what I could find on this forum. There were quite a bit of dead links but thanks to the game links working fine for the medal rounds (Quarterfinal/Semifinals/Medal Round) I was able to quickly compile this list of who has been placed where. Let's have fun going through memory lane (disclaimer, I could have messed up since I went through this in a night during my night shift 6 pm to 6 am  )

Team USA and Team Canada are you big favorites year in and year out whenever the World Cup comes around. It makes sense because a vast majority of members who sign up make either a Canadian or American player holding the same name as themselves. Team Canada has the most Gold Medals with 7 coming in S37, S52, S54, S56, S62, S66, S80. That threepeat in S52, S54, S56 was a high point. USA is second with 5 which came in S40, S58, S60, S68, S78. If the season ends in 8, it looks like team USA is going to win. The high point coming with back to back wins in S58 and S60. Overall these two nations have also won 15 and 14 medals. USA winning 5 golds, 6 silvers and 4 bronze. Canada winning 7 golds, 3 silvers and 4 bronze.

Team Western Europe and Team World have always been those teams that are always there but fall apart in either the Quarters or Semi's and having to settle to the top two dogs. World has been better than Western Europe as World has 3 gold medals compared to Western Europe's 1. However, Western Europe is in a tie for the most Silver with USA coming in at 6 each. Western Europe has 1 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze while World has 3 golds, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. The big thing for Team World is that they have finished 4th an astonishing 7 times which ties Canada for most finishes in a certain place.

Whichever genius went from calling Scandinavia to Nordic to Eastern Europe while changing Mercenaries to Nordic instead of keeping Nordic in the timeline of Scandinavia, thanks for making it a bit confusing for no reason. Could have just changed Mercenaries to Eastern Europe, but whatever, sometimes the VHL likes to make it confusing just because it can. Either was Scandinavia/Nordic/Eastern Europe has the same number of podium places as World and Western Europe, they also have finished in 6th the most with Mercenaries/Nordic. Mercenaries/Nordic has always been a fan favorite underdog. Mercs/Nords have 3 gold medals and 1 bronze. They are the only team to have never won a Silver medal and in World Cup Bingo the only spot left open. So let's root for a Nordic silver medal to finish up Bingo!

TheLastOlympian07 got a reaction from lil OG z in Regular Season Power Rankings Part 5 (S20-S69)
Here we go again after a 7 month hiatus, here is part 5. This covers the 60's and we see the league grow from 8 teams to 12 in the matter of 4 seasons near the end of the 60's. What a time to be alive.

    1 - Helsinki Titans - Previously 2nd

    3,600 GP - 1,972 W - 1,362 L - 266 OTL - 4,230 P - 10,377 GF - 9,442 GA - 2.88 GFA - 2.62 GAA - 32 Playoff Makes - 18 Playoff Misses - 6 Victory Cups - 0.548 W%

The Helsinki Titans have continued their climb from last edition and the one before. The Titans were previously ranked 3rd and 2nd and have no reached the top with 1,972 wins, 4,230 points, 10,377 goals for, 32 playoff makes and 6 victory cups. The Titans had won 411 games over the 10 year stretch from S60-S69. Helsinki also made the playoffs 8 times in this 10 season span which is a great amount of success. The Titans also managed to win a Victory Cup in the timeframe as well. Overall, the Titans have always been one of the model franchises in the VHL, their standing over 50 season shows it.

    2 - New York Americans - Previously 1st

    3,600 GP - 1,968 W - 1,390 L - 242 OTL - 4,196 P - 10,423 GF - 9,526 GA - 2.90 GFA - 2.65 GAA - 31 Playoff Makes - 19 Playoff Misses - 6 Victory Cups - 0.547 W%

New York drop from the perch on top of the list for the last two editions now. They find themselves in 2nd behind the Titans albeit not by much. The Americans have won 1,968 games making them just the 2nd team of the original 8 to have over 1,900 wins. The Americans struggled a bit winning 'only' 335 games over this span and making the playoffs 'only' 5 times. This is considered a down period of time for the franchise. This shows how far ahead they were of the rest of the league in edition 4 when they had a .561 win percentage now that has dropped down to .547 for this edition. The Americans did also manage to win a Victory Cup though as their 6th Victory Cup has them tied for 2nd.

    3 - Riga Reign - Previously 5th

    3,600 GP - 1,875 W - 1,464 L - 261 OTL - 4,034 P - 10,069 GF - 9,485 GA - 2.80 GFA - 2.63 GAA - 34 Playoff Makes - 16 Playoff Misses - 5 Victory Cups - 0.521 W%

Riga had a good 10 seasons rising from 5th to 3rd with 1,875 wins. The Reign are the 3rd and final team so far to reach 10k goals scored doing so in Season 69. The Reign also hold the distinction of making the playoffs the most out of all the reams with 34 makes or 68% of the time from S20 to S69. Riga won 419 games over the course of the 60's which is most over that time frame, even more than the Helsinki Titans. The Reign vs Titans of the 60's was quite the rivalry. Over the span of 10 seasons, the Reign also won the Victory Cup one time brining their total to 5.

    4 - Vancouver Wolves - Previously 3rd

    2,808 GP - 1,456 W - 1,125 L - 227 OTL - 3,157 P - 7,921 GF - 7,437 GA - 2.82 GFA - 2.65 GAA - 26 Playoff Makes - 13 Playoff Misses - 5 Victory Cups - 0.519 W%

Vancouver (previously known as Quebec City Meute) has dropped just a single spot from 3rd to 4th but are not far behind the Reign with a 0.519 W%. The Wolves have won 1,456 games to go along with 5 Victory Cups which has them tied for 3rd with 2 other teams. The Wolves have a great playoff record too making the playoffs 26 times in 39 seasons for a 66.7% make percentage. Vancouver managed to win 377 wins over the 10 season span for a total of 37.7 wins per season. The Wolves also made the playoffs 8 times in this span which ties them with for most makes in a 10 season span with Helsinki and Riga.

    5 - Toronto Legion - Previously 4th

    3,600 GP - 1,791 W - 1,526 L - 283 OTL - 3,882 P - 9,762 GF - 10,167 GA - 2.71 GFA - 2.82 GAA - 29 Playoff Makes - 21 Playoff Misses - 9 Victory Cups - 0.498 W%

Toronto are a very interesting team, they have a sub .500 win percentage (0.498) but have the most Victory Cups by a wide margin with 9. So that tells me when Toronto is good, they are REALLY good but when they are bad they are quite bad. The Legion have made the playoffs 29 times compared to 21 misses. Over the course of 10 seasons the Legion were able to win 312 games which is not bad but it doesn't hop off the page either. Toronto is a weird team, they allowed more goals than they scored, they have a sub .500 win percentage but have the most victory cups, interesting times in TO.

    6 - Cologne Express - Previously 7th
    1,944 GP - 951 W - 847 L - 146 OTL - 2,051 P - 5,132 GF - 5,211 GA - 2.64 GFA - 2.68 GAA - 15 Playoffs - 12 Playoff Misses - 0 Victory Cup - 0.489 Win %

What's this? The Express move up in the standings despite not playing? Weird 10 season span in the VHL for sure, The Express despite not winning a Victory Cup sit 6th with a 0.489 win percentage and 951 wins. The Express made the playoffs 15 times and missed 12 during their existence, sucks to see them go, maybe they will make a return one day.

    7 - HC Davos Dynamo - Previously 6th

    3,600 - 1,755 W - 1,571 L - 274 OTL - 3,801 P - 9,576 GF - 9,745 GA - 2.66 GFA - 2.71 GAA - 31 Playoffs - 19 Playoff Misses - 5 Victory Cup Wins - 0.488 Win %

The Dynamo are in a current fall from grace falling all the way down to 7th after being at the top a few editions ago. The Dynamo sit behind a defunct team in these power rankings just 0.01 behind the Express. The Dynamo have 1,755 wins to go along with 31 playoff makes and 5 Victory Cups, they have been pretty successful over the years but with just 317 wins over this decade, the Dynamo are in danger of falling towards the back end of the VHL landscape. The Dynamo also made the playoffs 5 times paired with 5 misses as well showing off their mediocrity.

    8 - Malmo Nighthawks - Previously N/A

    288 GP - 139 W - 126 L - 23 OTL - 302 P - 817 GF - 861 GA - 2.84 GFA -  2.99 GAA - 2 Playoff Makes - 2 Playoff Misses - 1 Victory Cup - 0.483 win %

Malmo are one of the new teams on the block coming in just 4 seasons ago. With the league expanding, the Nighthawks have come as far as 8th with a .483 win percentage and 1 Victory Cup in their short lifespan. Malmo has 139 wins as well as making the playoffs 2 times and missing 2 times. Overall, for them to come this far in such a short period of time makes one hopeful for the future of this team.

    9 - Calgary Wranglers - Previously 8th

    3,600 GP - 1,732 W - 1,631 L - 237 OTL - 3,711 P - 9,813 GF - 10,526 GA - 2.73 GFA - 2.92 GAA - 28 Playoffs - 22 Playoff Misses - 4 Victory Cups - 0.481 Win %

This once proud franchise has seemingly fallen by the wayside as they now sit 9th in the power rankings after season 69. However, the Wranglers made a huge strides these past 10 seasons going from 0.464 winning percentage to 0.481 winning percentage. The Wranglers managed to make the playoffs 7 times while missing 3 times while also winning 395 games, which is almost 40 per season the past 10 seasons. The biggest thing that stands out is their 2 Victory Cups in the 10 seasons which has them winning the most Cups in the past 10 seasons. It has been a fall from grace but the Wranglers seemed poised to making it back to their dynastic ways.

    10 - Seattle  Bears - Previously 9th

    3,600 GP - 1,683 W - 1,536 L - 291 OTL - 3,667 P - 9,801 GF - 10,262 GA - 2.72 GFA - 2.85 GAA - 27 Playoffs - 23 Playoff Misses - 6 Victory Cups - 0.468 Win %

Seattle is another franchise that has fallen on hard times and seemingly ran in circles trying to rebuild. The team has turned it around as of late raising the win percentage from 0.448 to 0.468 in the past 10 seasons, that just shows how far behind the team was though before this last decade. The Bears also tied the Wranglers in Victory Cup wins with 2 while also making the playoffs 7 times and missing just 3 times. DA BEARS also won 392 games over this span which is 39.2 per season. The Bears have a long way to go but have trending in the right direction finally.

    11 - Stockholm Vikings - Previously 10th
    2,736 GP - 1,216 W - 1,317 L - 203 OTL - 2,632 P - 7,020 GF - 7,772 GA - 2.57 GFA - 2.84 GAA - 16 Playoffs - 22 Playoff Misses - 3 Victory Cups - 0.444 Win %

Stockholm falls one spot thanks to Malmo joining the league and pushing them down a notch. Stockholm was a tough luck franchise as no one wanted to play for them because of their losing imagine as Vasteras and anytime they looked like it would turn around it was fall just as fast. The 0.444 winning percentage and 1,216 wins aren't great and their 16 playoffs makes compared to 22 losses also don't look great. The Vikings have 3 Victory Cup wins though, and no one can take those away from them.

    12 - Moscow Menace - Previously N/A

    360 GP - 154 W - 171 L - 35 OTL - 342 P - 1,104 GF - 1,249 GA - 3.07 GFA - 3.47 GAA - 2 Playoff Makes - 3 Playoff Misses - 0 Victory Cups - 0.428 Win %

Moscow haven't had the success Malmo has had so far despite being in the league 1 season earlier than the franchise. In 5 seasons, the Menace made the playoffs 2 out of 5 times while winning 154 games for a 0.428 win percentage. Not much else to be said in a small sample size.

    13 - Prague Phantoms - Previously N/A

    144 GP - 52 W - 78 L - 14 OTL - 116 P - 387 GF - 528 GA - 2.69 GFA - 3.67 GAA - 0 Playoff Makes - 2 Playoff Misses - 0 Victory Cups - 0.361 Win %

Prague is one of the newest teams in the VHL as they are now at 12 teams with 2 defunct teams. The Phantoms haven't been able to breakthrough like their other expansion cousins in Malmo and Moscow with 0 playoff makes and 0 victory cups with just 52 wins in 2 seasons.

    14 - D.C Dragons - Previously N/A

    144 GP - 45 W - 90 L - 9 OTL - 97 P - 286 GF - 474 GA - 1.99 GFA - 3.29 GAA - 0 Playoff Makes - 2 Playoff Misses - 0 Victory Cups - 0.313 Win %

Finally we have the Dragons from D.C who have gone the regular route for a expansion team and thats the slow cook. The team has won just 45 games in 2 seasons with 2 playoff misses and 0 victory cups. The Dragons have a 0.313 winning percentage as well, they prop up the league power rankings so far.

Yes, yes, we have another TheLastOlympian07 player, yes we know he will probably go inactive once again. However, there is always an aura around a TLO player that maybe this time, he will stick with it and become a decent player. The likes of Shawn Muller and Shawn Gretzky seem like years and years ago and in VHL time that was about 15-20 seasons ago. So yea, it has been awhile since I have made a decent player worth anything. However, I like to think I am a good locker room guy and bring some intangibles despite never breaking through as a member who makes constant players who time and time again go in the 1st round and are franchise altering players. I usually make those players who are complimentary pieces which a team needs just enough depth to get over the hump. However, here we go again, let's see where this goes. Maybe for once in years I will stick with this player in a take 2 of sorts and make something of myself that the newer generation of VHL members don't know about.

It was all the old faces that I saw when I came to check the site out, that made me want to try again. I feel a little motivated after a break. Missed the VHL, the VHL has always been a constant because here we are going strong after almost 80 seasons. Crazy times indeed.
