  2. In the draft lottery, that is. Still have a bit more time to make it to the top of the standing. But the Cologne Express, a team that finished 6th overall out of the 10 teams in the league, have taken the 1st overall pick right out of Toronto or Quebec City's hungry hands for youngsters. A team already stacked with young talent, Cologne saw themselves making a playoff run for a good part of the season until the team poster boy David Collier was traded to Vasteras to close off his career. Vlasis, Linholm, Olynick, World Peace, and Laich will be accompanied by possibly the biggest piece of the missing puzzle to make a this team a real contender. In early predictions for next season, the Express have been seen as a team in limbo. Which means, a team that's not exactly a playoff contender, but they aren't really in a clear and visible rebuilding stage anymore. In the city of Cologne, exuberant fans have shown their exceptional happiness. As if it were a gift from the hockey gods, are praising the league commissioners and GM Schneider. "I never watched the draft in the past, but knowing Cologne will have the first overall pick, I see myself planted in front of my TV with all my other Express fans friends watching the future happen before our eyes," said an Express fan. "I think that this team will definitely benefit from any of the top prospects vying to be the #1 spot. This could be the very player that could bring us to that next level," said Logan Laich at a team event. What most analysts are calling as Mason Richardson's spot to lose at #1, it seems that there could be a reunion in the making. Richardson's agent also represented longtime Express player Kameron Taylor. With Richardson's agent's close ties to Cologne, it could mean that the rookie's transition into comfortable spot on the team may be a smooth process. Many believe that any good team can never have enough defenseman to create that winning formula that lead to championships. Regardless, it seems as if this Cologne team will experience a huge shake up no matter who they take. A #1 overall pick has the potential to become a franchise player. The team in limbo could take their strong roster and add just another ingredient to the mix. The future still shines bright for the hockey team in Germany. The fans are excited. The players are excited. The management are excited. The day of the S40 VHL Entry Draft will be a celebration for the city. Years down the road, the fans of Cologne can see the day of the draft lottery as the day the team turned its fortunes around.

  4. Second half for Everton was dreadful. Barkley's injury stings a lot.
  5. I was never really a fan, and his more modern-day movies were unbearable for me to watch, but after going through his filmography I remembered watching Flubber so many times as a kid. Then I got sad. Rest easy.

  7. Every movie mentioned in this thread so far. Not embarrassed, I'm just not much of a movie guy. I get the "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN ___?" a lot from people.
  8. COLOGNE, Germany Young goalie star for the Cologne Express, Blaine Olynick, looks to have made up his mind on where he would like to provide his goaltending expertise. As of last night, General Manager Alexander Schneider announced Olynick signed a five year contract extension with Cologne. Before this news broke, there was a period of uncertainty in Cologne where they might've been without a starting goaltender. This cloudiness cleared away after GM Schneider told the press there was a done deal between the two parties. The contract extends to the last eligible season of Olynick's career in the VHL. Thus, giving them a starting goaltender for the next five years. Fans felt insulted by Olynick's lack of faith in his team. Citing the slow rebuild process of the team, he expected winning seasons to come much quicker than they are currently. However, the Cologne Express see themselves sitting with the last playoff spot in the European Conference with fourteen wins, tied with the Riga Reign in that column. It seems as if Olynick's loss of faith came a little bit premature after taking a look at these stats. "I was trying to only do what I thought was best for my career as a professional, and in no way was I trying to insult the way the team is run. I love this team, and I love the city of Cologne. This is the place I want to stay for the rest of my career, and I see myself staying here for good," said Olynick in an interview with TSN. After a dismal rookie season, Blaine was looking to improve his play in the off season. He worked with NHL goaltending coaches in order to better his skills and to heal from his first ever grueling seventy-two game VHL schedule. With the added pressure of a losing team and dwindling fan presence at home games, playing games became more of a chore than a treat for him. With the new blood coming into the line up, and the acquisition of Logan Laich provides a leader that can step into Collier's shoes upon his eventual departure from the team. These changes from last season could've influenced his decision to stay in Cologne. "Obviously, the guys that are currently in the team with me have been a huge help in my decision to stay. They're such a collection of characters that I can't see myself playing with anyone else, in a different sweater, in a different town," said Olynick. Since the start of the season, the attendance has been already higher than last season, the mood of the locker room is very positive, and the future looks even brighter for these warriors in green and the city of Cologne. Have no fear, Cologne! Olynick is still here!
  9. COLOGNE, Germany 30.7.2014 Following a dismal rookie season after high expectations and praises, TSN reports that Blaine Olynick has declined to begin early season contract extension talks with Cologne Express GM Alex Schneider. There has been no comment yet from the Olynick's agent nor representatives from the Express Speculation is still swirling around, but Olynick has been wanting to test out the waters with this slightly revamped Cologne team. The general mood of Olynick at the start of this season was disappointed, according to teammates who wish to stay anonymous. It's said that he expected the team to become a playoff team at a much quicker pace than it currently is, and he was promised a winning team by his second year. Regardless, the Express management team are working around the clock to keep their Season 37 1st round pick to stay for good. As the goalie market is as open as it ever has been, this may be the perfect time for a young goaltender such as Olynick to make an unusual move early in his career.

    SSK/BER

Accepted. Probably the quickest trade negotiations I'll ever have.
  11. The Bern Royals are proud to announce StevenStamkos91 (StevenArcehole91) as co-GM of the organization. This summer my activity has been dipping with work and such, and SS91 has proven to me time and time again that he deserves more than an assistant job. This change is effective immediately. Congrats buddy.
  12. FUCK YES MY BRACKET! DIE MANNSHACFT!
  13. Alexis, but this was before I found out he already plays for a big club. I thought he was on a smaller team, like Özil in 2010.
