    1) The Toronto Legion are on a fairly hot start with a record of 7-3-2, do you think this'll level out as the season advances?

    2) Chad Magnum has seventeen points in just twelve games. What do you think is contributing to his offensive success this early?

    3) Jaxx Hextall has been absolutely magnificent so far -- how could the Legion help lessen his workload so he doesn't fatigue?

    4) League offense is up quite significantly compared to the last half a dozen seasons. Do you think expansion is the cause for more offense league wide? If not, why?

    5) Our rookie, Joseph Gainer, still has an opportunity to climb back into the top ten race (he's tied for tenth). Any advice you'd like to give, or words of encouragement as he seeks the top rookie award?

    6) In a scale of one to ten, how involved would you say the management team is with their players?

    1. I honestly can't say, I have a really good feeling about this team, I think we can stay hot throughout the whole season.

    2. I think I've finally figured out VHL defenses, and I grew a lot stronger over the offseason, so I can really bully my way around the rink this season.

    3. That was definitely an issue for us last season, as I think he just ran out of gas in the playoffs, but I don't blame him; he carried us in the regular season. I think we just really need to tighten up in our own zone in order to lighten his load.

    4. Definitely. And to be honest, I prefer it this way, it reminds me of the old-VHL.

    5. Just keep plugging along man, your time will come. It can take awhile in the VHL but your hard work will pay off.

    6. Hmm, 7 maybe? I'm not complaining though, I think the interaction is at a good level, for me personally at least.

    WE - ARE - LEGION

    1) A new season is upon us! Are you excited to be playing hockey again?

Absolutely, especially with everything that's going on in the world with the virus right now, it's a miracle no VHLers have gotten it yet.

    2) How do you think the Legion will fare this upcoming season?

I think we will build on the unexpected success of last season; our core players have only gotten better since last year.

    3) Who do you think will be the Legions' leading scorer?

If I was a betting man, I would put money on either myself or Killinger to be at least a PPG or better.

    4) Toronto was in on a few free agents, but ultimately we didn't land any active ones, any thoughts on that?

Same old VHL story, big FA's usually don't want to come to teams seen as underdogs by the rest of the league, and I'm completely fine with that, as we've really built from within since I've been here.

    5) Joseph Gainer and his shot at top rookie. Do you think it's possible?

Definitely; he has all the tools to make it happen, the only thing that remains to be seen is how well he gels with his linemates.

    6) If there was one thing you could guarantee -- besides awards and a championship -- what would it be for yourself?

Hmm, I'd say getting inducted into the HoF would be a good consolation if those other two were unachievable.

    DRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAFT DAY!

    1. The Toronto Legion only picked one player -- center John Merrick -- in the S73 VHL Entry Draft. What are your thoughts about the most recent addition to the Legion?

    2. Despite GM Peace trying to move into additional rounds of the draft, he was unable to do so -- how do you think this will impact Toronto in the future?

    3. How 'hyped' were you about the S73 VHL Entry Draft?

    4. John Merrick will be joining the Legion in S74 with a projected rating of over 400. How will this impact the S74 Toronto Legion?

    5. Who was the most surprising player drafted in the first round?

    6. Were you surprised at any of the prospects that were ranked fairly high but continued to slide through the draft, if you paid attention at all?

    1. I think it's a good pick, I know there were rumors that we were going to trade the pick, but I'm happy that we kept it and drafted a quality young player instead.

    2. I don't think it will hurt us too badly in the short run since most of our core is in their prime right now. When guys like Merrick eventually join the team it will be a free addition to an already talented squad.

    3. 0% hyped. I barely pay any attention to the VHL in the offseason.

    4. Like I said, he'll be a welcome addition to an already talented core, I expect him to become a stud for us in a few seasons.

    5. I honestly have no idea, I can't even name more than two players who were taken in the first round off of memory.

    6. Same answer that I just gave to question number 5 haha, I paid no attention to anything draft, or offseason, related. I just focus on the needed break from the VHL.

Right to the point! ... Right?

    1. The draft lottery results were just released and Toronto drafts fifth. It's a pretty high native pick, are you excited that your team gets a good pick and made the playoffs?

    2. How are you enjoying the off season so far?

    3. What are you doing to prepare for next season?

    4. Expansion draft could hurt the Toronto Legion -- among other teams -- so which team do you think expansion will hurt the most?

    5. Coke or Pepsi?

    6. Burrito or Taco?

    1. Definitely exciting; we went into the season thinking we were going to be a lottery pick anyway, so coming out of the season with the next best pick ain't too shabby.

    2. I'm enjoying it a lot; I typically disassociate completely from all VHL goings-on in the offseason and I think that really helps better me for the upcoming season.

    3. Like I said, I usually take time in the offseason to decompress from the season, and that's what I\m up to right now.

    4. I honestly couldn't tell you, because I have no idea who is available; I do like that we are expanding though, as hopefully this  will allow the league to return to a typical 6F-4D format.

    5. Neither, I don't drink soda.

    6. Burrito, easy. Next question.

    1. How do you personally feel about Toronto being eliminated by a score of 4-3 in a game seven where the Legion lead 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 after two periods of play?

It definitely hurts. We really had it and blew it; playing defense in the playoffs is harder than offense imo, and holding leads in the postseason just comes with experience.

    2. Who do you think was our best playoff performer?

Is there any question? Elmebeck led us on and off the rink.

    3. Do you think the time is right to start selling assets for talented and established VHL players, or do you think management should stay on course for their game plan? [Competitive by S74?

I'm not part of management, so I'm not too sure if what I think means much on this topic; I'm not sure of the contending status of other teams in the conference so I really have no idea.

    4. Toronto was down in this series 2-0 before winning two in Toronto to tie it up. What was your reaction at the buzzer in game four, when this best of seven series became a best of three?

It was a sense of relief almost, like a breather. We realized that we could hang with just about any team in the league if we could hang with the Wranglers.

    5. Similarly to the above... what was your reaction when Toronto won game six to force a seventh game?

Elation. We knew we had a good chance to win if we could go the distance.

    6. What were some of your superstitions or pregame rituals during the series?

I'm not a very superstitious player, but I definitely wasn't walking under any ladders or spilling any salt after a win.

  6. 1. So those last eleven games before the victory... what do you think went wrong? I honestly couldn't tell you, we were on a roll and it's like the wheels just fell right off.

    2. Would you say it was poetic we won against the team chasing us to end the free fall? I think so; we're still in the hunt and beating them was the first step to righting the ship.

    3. Do you think we remain in a playoff position with our lead over Vancouver just a single point now? It's gunna be tough, but I think we hang in there.

    4. How disappointed are you in TOR G? 2-8-0 in his ten games he gets credit for... I don't even wanna talk about it. He failed us when we needed him the most.

    5. Do you think we go on a winning streak now after gaining some confidence against Vancouver? Beating the Wolves certainly doesn't hurt, so hopefully this is the end of our crappy play.

    6. If we make the playoffs (we will!) how do you think Toronto fares against Calgary? Without a doubt, it'll be an uphill battle, but anything can happen in a seven-game series.
