    1. Just getting together with friends and family and having cookout. Good wholesome fun.

    2. I'd have to say Stamkos to Nashville, just seems lame that TB didn't sign him and ends up in nashville of all places.

    3. I don't think they've done anything of note yet, like usual..

    4. Doesn't matter because we're going to destroy anyone we play.

    5. I'm pretty happy, I maintained the same physicality and mean streak as last season and shattered my goals and point totals and most important I'm like +67 better that last year!

    6. If Gavilrovs can take less than 4 penalties a game.

    1. I celebrated by doing house work and using my air compressor. Fun times

    2. Stamkos wants to lose the rest of his career, at least he'll be paid nice to be injured and lose now.

    3. No, we signed two back up goalies and a 31 year old defenseman.

    4. Would like to finish 3rd, so we have no opportunity to be bounced in the wildcard round.

    5. Very unhappy. I am going to barley beat my rookie season points total with way more TPE. We made the playoffs, so I guess who cares in the long run.

    6. Vancouver Wolves will go far in the playoffs if we find some consistent secondary scoring.

    1.      Canada Day in Canada as I write this so what is everyone doing to celebrate and if you happen to be a yank than what you planning for July 4th?

During day, hanging out by the pool, probably grilling some chicken for asado tacos, and then once the war zone begins, gotta deal with the dog for the rest of the night and try to keep her calm and seizure free.

    2.     Free Agency: What signing surprised you the most and why?

A lot of signings were long term. That caught me off guard.

    3.     Free Agency: Was your team active adding during the first day? Who they add and what do you think of the players fit?

They got rid of Debrusk.  That’s all I saw.  I’m not sure if they picked anyone up but I certainly hope so.

    4.     Does it matter if we play in the Wildcard rounds or finish 3rd and get a bit of a rest?

We can rest when we are dead, so although it’d be nice to be in 3rd, if we have to kick ass in the wildcard, we’ll do it.

    5.     Overall, how happy or unhappy have you been with your players performance this season? Why?

My player has been a pussy.  Cant fight, cant hit, doesnt sacrifice his body and block shots.  Things are going to change.

    6.     Finish the statement: Vancouver Wolves will go far in the playoffs if ______________.

Rip Wheeler stops combing his hair and gets his Fabio ass on the ice and helps out the team like he promised to.

    3.  Skinner to Edmonton is all they have done. I think he adds some scoring but his best days are behind him for sure

    4. doesn’t matter to me.  I think we are trouble for a long teams.  Would prefer to be 3rd though

The future is looking bright for the Vancouver Wolves.  Two of their prospects, Bollos de Trueno @Thunder and Pierre Marc Bouchard @Gaikoku-hito are currently playing for Bratislava in Europe have secured a playoff spot and have shown that these prospects were a very smart addition by GM @Frank.

    BOLLOS de TRUENO:
This gritty, pass first, two-way d-man has shown he has all the tool this year in Bratislava.  #4 in team scoring with 20 goals 47 assists 67 points, and 13 pp goals he is no slouch on the offensive side.   But what truly makes him special is what he does on his end of the ice.  Constantly given shutdown responsibilities for opposing stars he battles night in and night out.

    Pierre Marc Bouchard:
PMB was a gold mine pickup for Bratislava at #1 in the draft and he has paid off.  40g 57a 97pts so far with 8 pp goals.   He is #1 in points, #1 in goals, and #1 enemy of opposing goalies. With just 8 games left in the season he will no doubt win the scoring race and get over 100 points.

Bratislava has their work cut out for them come playoff time as teams like the always dominant Cologne and Rome will be coming for them.  PMB and Thunder Balls will have to be at their best.

    2. I'd say goalie because if he lets up bad goals then your toast.

    3. "Don't touch my beer."

    4. Yes we will pummel them next time I'm not worried.

    5. We can beat anyone so bring them all on, would be nice to beat Seattle though.

    6. Wow nice vacation, hopefully he gets laid. I'd say definitely Logan Ninefingers is most likely to throw a party because if he gets caught, he's least likely to face a harsh punishment due to his super star future.

    1. A loss is a loss, but at least a game 7 loss there is no shame in the lose in my opinion as you left everything out there in the series.

    2. A hot goalie at the right time can carry a sub par roster.

    3. To be honest I don’t think I said anything unfortunately. Didn’t even see the trade thread when it happened. I guess I’m spending less and less time in the LR and that needs to be fixed.

    4. Yeah, not good for a team that is supposedly a playoff team. We need to bunker down and get some of those shots from more high quality scoring areas.

    5. We’ll play anyone, anytime and anywhere.

    6. No one’s in charge, it’s a free for all…… Hookers and cocaine for all.

Another week closer to the playoffs and there is a lot to talk about in the league.  Trade deadline is here so curious to see if what teams will make some moves for those elusive Founders, Renaissance, or Continental cups. Not sure what I want to chat about but might touch on the upcoming draft and throw out a Tough Guy Tribute.

    DRAFT
Just checking the standings, it looks like most likely LA could get that coveted first overall selection.  The Stars have some talent in their prospect pool with players like The Phantom of the VHL @Hogan, Wally Lose @youloser1337, Pombo @samx, and Erik Thorvaldsson @Tetricide.  But they are in desperate need of a goalie to go with some of these great players. Could they take a goalie at #1?

Enter Roger Eagles @Greg_Di.  Currently the highest TPE player eligible in the draft and a proven name in the VHL.  Eagles is big and even more impressive is he skipped his VHLM season to face better competition. Eagles is currently 16-16-7 with 1 shutout on a struggling team. With the trade deadline looming I wonder if Eagles will be re-located for the playoff push.   Now for the upcoming draft I think if LA gets the #1 pick, grabbing a max earning goalie could be game changing for the franchise.

    TOUGH GUY TRIBUTE
Many times, the role of the physical player gets a bit overshadowed in the VHL.  Players who hit, fight, and take long minutes in the penalty box don’t get the fanfare of the goal scorers or playmaking geniuses.  This season a few players have separated themselves.

Tord Yvel-NY @Trazan- This first gen defenseman has a league leading 9 fights this season with only 95 PIMS.  Shows you that Yvel doesn’t hurt his club with overwhelming minor penalties but will drop the gloves at the drop of a hat to help his club.  The fact that he is putting up decent numbers 8-37-45 doesn’t hurt as well.

Kronchy Kardashian @Garsh- This Warsaw defenseman is #2 in the league with 7 fights and #3 in league with 162 PIMS. Added to this he is over a point per game and a big reason for Warsaw’s success this season.  7 PP goals, 146 hits, 95 SB KK can do it all.

Guntis Gavilrovs @Girts- Vancouver’s massive Dman has 5 fights on the season and is #2 in PIMS with 179 and #7 in hits with 185.  Girts will fight anyone!  Teammates in practice, opposing team’s mascots, his GM, and personal friends like Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ.  He loves it and I look for him to set PIM records in the VHL for his career.

Tommy Sleeves @dasboot– Another dman who has 5 fights and leads the league in PIMS (235) and hits (291).  Guaranteed to get 300 hits this season which is super impressive for a defensive player.  With 21 games in the season Sleeves has a chance to break the top 25 PIMS all-time.  Da’Brickashaw O’Neal is in the 25th spot with 265 PIMS in Season 12 so Sleeves needs just 20 PIMS to tie.

Callum Gary Yanick Janser @Daniel JanserDaniel -NY- Another dman who can hurt his opponents physically or on the score sheet.  #4 in PIMS (147) and has 5 fights on the season (2 fight wins).  65 points in 53 games along with 101 SB and 168 hits CGY shows why he was drafted first overall by NY in S91.

    Honorable mention:

    Fradin McGryer- @Fradin99
    Wann Kerr @VattghernCZ

Vancouver Wolves hulking sophomore defenseman Guntis Gavilrovs is putting together strong season with a +19 rating, 185 hits, 103 blocks to go along with 32 points and 5 goals through 53 games played. He's playing a similar style to his rookie season in terms of physicality and blocks but is on pace to break his points total from a season ago. While Guntis is not exactly lighting it up offensively yet he is improved since last season and that's an area of his game he plans to focus on more in year 3 and 4 in the VHL. He's still a bruising mean physical force on the blue line as he ranks 2nd in penalty minutes with 179, has 5 fights and is 8th in hits with 185 checks to the body and  numerous hits to the head. His strong mean physical play has been a major help to Vancouver who is currently firmly entrenched into 3rd in the NA Conference with a record of 30-15-7 for 67 points, which is the 6th best record in the entire VHL through 53 games. Pretty cool. The Wolves are definitely s playoff team and cup contender this season and god help the opponents who have to face Gavilrovs in a 7 game series. He's going to absolutely abuse everyone out there with viscious hits to the body and large Latvian forearms to the head. Honestly, he can't wait to get his first taste of the VHL post season. First he has to finish strong in the regular season and try and sneak up the standings, he plans on being a little more disciplined in the final 19 games and hopes to add a little more offense as we approach playoffs. One thing is for certain, Guntis Gavilrovs is quickly developing in a beast for the Vancouver Wolves.
