  1. Where was the favoritism? I mean one of the ROTY nominees (not funk) was literally on the awards committee
  2. Back with the third edition of the season! The most important news of the day presented by VSN. New York AGM Job The New York AGM job is still taking applicants. It likely will not be around for much longer, so apply quickly! VSN Highlighted Article of the Day Today, VHL Historian @Victor unveiled his top 10 all time duo's. It is an interesting read that I certainly would recommend if you have some time on your hands. It all was stemmed from the duo of Edwin Preencarnacion and Podrick Cast throughout the S60s, which ranked second on the list. I won't spoil anymore, go and read it. VSN Highlighted Graphic of the Day Credit to @gorlab for making this VHL Sims Today, we had more divisional games. Even though it is still early in the season, look at last years standings. Second place and sixth place were separated by three points. Every game is important in the modern day VHL, so early season wins aren't to be overlooked. Today, Seattle took a big 5-2 win over their division rival, chasing Brick Wahl from the game early. Ambrose Stark had three assists and John Frostbeard had two goals in the Bears win. The Americans upset Toronto with a 5-4 victory in a well rounded effort. 11 Americans had points in this one, and Walter Clements two goals led New York to the win. Malmo and Riga also picked up two tight victories on divisional rivals, as Michael Johnson continued his solid play for Malmo, and Ryan Kastelic keeps on scoring for Riga. Moscow still sits ahead of Riga even after today's loss to them. VHLM Sims How about the Yukon Rush? Despite having a fairly lackluster roster, they sit in first place in the VHLM. They picked up another pair of wins today, beating the Hounds and Lynx. The Bulls are right on their tail though, as they beat the Storm in a 3-1 win. No goalie, no problem. The Aces have still been able to win games despite not having a goalie on the roster. Their shootout win against Mexico City is evidence of this, as the computer goalie made 20 saves in the win. The Saskatoon Wild keep sliding down the standings. With back to back 5-1 losses today, it looks like they will miss the postseason once again. That's it for today's article. Each day I will try to add a different element to the articles to keep it fresh, and today it was the article/graphic highlight of the day. See you tomorrow for the next daily article!
  3. how tf was Peace not taken already lol
  4. G- Michael Johnson @GustavMattias
  5. Wait... I actually won? How did my garbage team win
  6. Damn the thread is going off right now. (69)2
  7. No don't worry, I didn't forget! Amid reading To Kill A Mockingbird for English, I remembered I had to write this. So without further ado, lets look at todays biggest news. New York AGM Job After Dil re-signed from his AGM duties, current NY GM @Esso2264 is looking for a new AGM. Apply quickly! VHL Sims Today's VHL sims has less to cover, but easily the craziest game of the day happened with the Legion and Dragons. It was a 9-1 final score in favor of Toronto, as Peace and Tzuyu had 4 points each. Both expansion squads lost both of their games today, and DC is particularly playing horrible. With a goal differential of -32 in only eight games, they look like they could have a worse inaugural season than Moscow had in S65. The Malmo Nighthawks defeated the HC Davos Dynamo in a huge divisional matchup, with Matthew Materazo scoring two goals in the win. Helsinki beat Riga in another huge divisional game, as goaltenders Kallis Kriketers and Alexander Pepper each had stand out performances in the 2-1 win for Helsinki. The up and coming Seattle Bears have had a nice start to the year, with a 5-3 record so far. The loss to New York today was concerning, but beating Calgary was a big win for the young squad. The Wolves went 2-0 today with wins over Toronto and New York. VHLM Sims The surprising surge of the Yukon Rush continues, with wins over Halifax and Saskatoon today. Houston finally lost it's first game, losing to Philadelphia 4-2. Philly has struggled so far, despite the talent on the roster. The Minnesota Storm had a nice day, with two wins today. Both of those wins were against notable opponents, as they defeated both Las Vegas and Halifax in the two wins. The wildest game of the day happening in Las Vegas, where the Aces trashed the Marlins, scoring 10 goals in the win! Jeff Tates had seven points, and Benny Graves had six points. Eight players on Las Vegas had two or more points. This game propelled Tates to number one in the league in points, and Benny Graves sits in third place. Thats it for today's edition. Tune in tomorrow for another edition!
  8. I was gonna take him but ok. D- Jagger Philliefan @ItsMcLovin
  9. Welcome @Quietknight! I am the Las Vegas Aces GM. I can confidently say the Aces have the best roster in the league. We only need one thing: a goalie. We want you to be our starting goalie. You can be the starter on the best team in the league! You won’t get that opportunity anywhere else. Good luck making your decision, but I hope you choose Vegas! If you are interested, quote this offer and say “Accepted” -Matt O
  10. The VHL and VHLM season is underway! This is a new series that will be posted everyday during the season, with a run through of that day's sims, and other news. Today will be a combined edition of 9/14 and 9/15. Sims The new season is finally here! However, it started in strange fashion. After @VHL Games decided not to post the games, good guy @GustavMattias posted Games 1-20 for both the VHL and VHLM. Calgary and Moscow have started strong, both tallying five wins already. Calgary's biggest win came against the Vancouver wolves, where they won 4-3 thanks to Joel Ylonen's 4 point night. Moscow beat Calgary later that day in a 2-1 victory thanks to Owen May's standout performance. The two expansion teams didn't get off to a great start. The two teams have a combined one win, with Prague defeating the Reign 3-1 in their first ever game. The most notable individual performance came from the reigning MVP Rauno Palo, when he dropped five points against DC. It was a great game for the entire Wolves team, as they won 6-0 that game. Matt Thompson, who made a big move by signing with the Nighthawks, has exploded onto the scene. His goal of reaching the 400 goal plateau looks like a very achievable goal, especially after his hot start to the year, with five goals in six games. VHLM Sims We start with controversy in the VHLM world. Self proclaimed S+ tier clown @Matt_O, who also serves as the Vegas GM, had Bruce Grimaldi playing in the first five games of the season, despite him being called up to the VHL. He insists it was not done purposefully, and it was a misunderstanding. He had this to say about himself: "I did not leave Grimaldi in net purposefully. When I made lines, they were sent in before he was called up. After he got called up, I thought he would be automatically removed from the index, but I was wrong. This morning I sent in new lines, but the new sims had already been posted." Some GM's are unhappy about this. @Nykonax and @GustavMattias called for his head. "You filthy lying cheater! Should be fired" -Gustav, Hounds GM "You cheaters win?" -Nyko, Kings GM Enough about the Aces, lets look at the Bulls! The only team left that hasn't lost a game, their spectacular start has been propelled by Soren Jensen's nine points, and Sean McGee's elite play in net. Trailing right behind them are the Kings, who have only lost one game, which was too the Bulls. The Reapers on the other hand, have not been looking good. After a really good draft, some thought they could compete for another title. After Fang Flashback was called up to the VHL, they are left with young goaltender Mark Davis, who hasn't been good. His 0.786 Save Percentage and 4.62 GAA has really held the Reapers back. Who should you take in Fantasy? With VHL Fantasy underway, most drafts are into rounds three and four. Who should you eye in those rounds? Well, I have a couple of players that you may want to take a look at. Jerry Garcia- D, Malmo Nighthawks Last year, Garcia had 40 points, a respectable total. He also finished with 130 hits and 163 blocked shots, a total good enough for second in the VHL that year. His 203 Fantasy Points last year is a great D2 total. Last year, Joseph McWolf had 245 points, and he is one of the best, if not the best, defenseman in the game. I expect improvement from Garcia in the points and hits column, and he could he would be a great pickup to fill out your defense. John Madden- F, HC Davos Dynamo Madden has started the year off very well, with 10 points in his first six games. Last year he had 66 points, but he has improved in every year of his career. Fantasy owners must hope he continues to buck that trend for him to be a viable option. His hits are underwhelming, but his blocked shots are pretty nice. Lets look at Matt Thompson, who has won many Scott Boulet Trophies. Besides his first two seasons, he has failed to hit 50 blocked shots since then. Madden had 57 blocked shots in his rookie year, and 34 in S67. Both are very good totals for a forward. I could definitely see an 80 point campaign in the works for Madden. Thats it for today's 9/14 and 9/15 round up, I'm your host Matt O, and we will see you tomorrow.

  12. Welcome to the league @Parani! I am the Las Vegas Aces GM. We just started the season, and we can confidently say we are continental cup favorites. Of course, we have one issue; goaltending. Our goalie just went up to the big leagues, and we no longer have a goalie. You can be the starting goaltender for a cup favorite! While other teams have advertised themselves as cup favorites, it is safe to say the Aces have a much better talent pool. All we are missing is a goalie, and you can be the solution! If you are interested, quote this offer and say accept! -Matt O
  13. Actually? I should of realized with Hooper, but didn’t realize DeYeeto was around
  14. We return with part THREE of the VHLM draft review. Read part one here, and part two here. We looked at the Kings, Hounds, Aces and Marlins in part one. Today, we will be looking at the Wild, Lynx and the Storm. Saskatoon Wild Draft Class: Nate Telker (C)- 26th overall Fabio Jokinen (D)- 38th overall Sade Taika (RW)- 51st overall The Wild will follow up a season where they missed the postseason with another season that will likely end in a postseason miss. The Wild have very few assets to work with this season, with a really poor defense. Fabio Jokinen is a solid defenseman, but his low TPE total as a top pairing defenseman is concerning. They have two players above 100 tpe to work with, and both will likely be on the first line. The Wild don't look great this year, and unless they make some big moves, they will likely miss the postseason. Best Pick: Nate Telker at 26 Ceiling: 8th seed Floor: 11th seed Oslo Storm Draft Class: n/a They had no picks in the first four rounds, but will rely on Virgil Ligriv and returning players to carry the load. After last year's playoff run, they are in a transition year. Without any top end S69 picks, it seems they will have the next couple seasons to figure it out. I expect them to be able to make the playoffs this year, but not do much at all unless Ligriv can steal a series. Ryo Yamazuki II and Jaxon Walker will be the stars of the team, compliment with Mac Hooper and Danny DeYeeto as the key inactives to the team. Minnesota has a pretty solid team based on returning members, but their room for growth is very limited due to the inactives. Expect a good, not great, season for them. Ceiling: 4th seed Floor: 6th seed Ottawa Lynx Draft Class: n/a The Lynx had absolutely zero picks this year, trading everything to try to make a run in S67. That was successful, as they won the Founders Cup. Unfortunately for them, it looks unlikely for them to repeat this year. While the team is still solid, the team has next to no room for growth. All the actives have either hit or almost hit the cap, while the other high tpe guys are inactive. They don't have a goalie, which could really throw a wrench in their plans. Aamon Grim and Finnegan MacBurn are the only actives on the team, and they both have already reached the 200 TPE cap. They will rely heavily on their top lines to keep them in games, with little depth and no goalie's posing a big problem. They are a similar team to Minnesota, but you take away the star goalie. Ceiling: 4th seed Floor: 7th seed Thats it for the VHLM Draft Review series! Thanks for sticking this one out. We will see you tomorrow with the first edition of VSN's Daily VHL report!
