Hey Bobby, name really rolls of the tongue haha. We could really use ya on Minnesota. The Storm were the Cup champs last year and want to keep that success rolling. You'd also get second line time right off the bat so thats awesome too. I'm sure our GM @Eudaldkp would love to have you. Let us know if you wanna join the Storm!

As Jenton said, we would be thrilled to have you on board! We are looking for another Dman to fill our lines and I think this would be an amazing opportunity for you to learn the ropes in the VHL and grow your player, while playing lots of minutes and having a big role in our team. Come join us @Bobby Bummhole

  2. Welcome @ViknegarI'm Minessota Storm's GM, we're the defending champs this year. We would love to have you on our roster, and unlike other teams, we can offer you meaningful minutes from the start while you grow your player. It's gonna be an amazing season and we'll have it tough competing for the championship, but with the additions of players like you we can do it! Sign with us for a 1,5M contract and the amazing opportunity that Minnesota can offer you. You just have to quote me saying "I accept".

PD: You can have 2nd or even 1st line minutes with us;) quite nice huh?

  3. Before all of you come for my throat with the knifes, this is just a post to give some insight to new members or basically anyone that might be interested in what the thought process is behind the scenes of a VHLM team.

So, what do you need in order to win a VHLM cup? A lot of assets mainly. The M works in a way where assets are super key, since every season we have a dispersal draft where every player that hasn't been drafted goes to another team, picks are essential if you want to win a cup. On top of that, every player that is over 200 TPE will be going up to the major league, and you rarely find players that stick with the team for more than one season.

But assets aren't everything, you also need to pay a lot of attention to the new members. Surely, the active members rate per new members must suck, but every once in a while you can find a gem and if you can find them at the start of the season you will have in your hands a 150+ TPE player that you basically got for free. However, with 11 teams, the competition for free agents is harder than ever, and you must be quik and very active to snag those new players that keep joining in.

Okay, so, amass assets and recruit free agents, is that it? You could say so, but obviously there's more. You also need luck, and that is no joke. Your first round pick that was looking like a stud might have real life problems and go inactive. That goalie that you thought was for sure going to be the best goalie in the M for the season might get called up to the majors. Your high pick might be an idiot and get banned. There are so many things that can and will fuck up your season... that's why I mentioned the luckyness aspect. Not to talk about the randomness of StHS, and that in a 5 or 7 game series basically anything could happen.

And last, but not least, trading. Trading is essential for the M, since lots of assets come and go during the season and picks are traded almost weekly, you need to be in constant search of trade partners that might benefit your present or your future. It is not easy to sell your assets at the perfect moment to get the maximum value that you could, because the conditions of the season might not be the best for it. You may have a star center (whom next year is going to go up) in a tanking team, but you have to consider that if the other competing teams have also a star center, his price might not be what it would normally be.

To close this article, I would like to give some insight into what I think the right steps are for winning an M championship. Firstly, you need to consider yours and the other teams assets. Based on that, you can choose which season you want to compete. Basically, get as many assets as you can for that season and work your ass to get good free agents. The season in which you choose to compete you go all in, it doesn't matter if you only have a 4th pick in the next season, as long as you win the championship it is all worth it. Bitches and money come next

  4. The league has been doing an amazing job in the past two seasons since I joined. Since I joined, the M teams went from 6 to 11. I remember when I first joined I was like damn only 6 teams, a bit lame... huh but now here we are, with 11 teams and more depth than ever. It has really been a joy to be part of this project and I have to say up to this day my favourite thing to do in the VHL is without a doubt GMing my M team :)

I know it's not your usual VHL.com article but I just wanted to share how happy I am that the league is progressing, and honestly it's kind of nuts given how old it is, but how would you know? The portal looks nice, the forum looks dope too and it has one of the best league interfaces for updating, what else can you ask for?

Anyways, I wish that this trend continues and I want to thank everyone for their job, especially the Recruitment team, our commisioners and all the GMs and AGMs that make this place what it is:)!
