What if I indentify as a stupid person, what if after people like flyersfan1453 call me thick I start to believe it, what if I´m a stupid person? Then I see someone say: this is stupid, that could be just as offensive to me. How is me feeling offended less valuable than gay person feeling offended for someone using: this is gay?

Incredibly hard decision to make, but I wish the best of luck to @Sharkstrong and @11 Eleven as Toronto will be a great home to them. Obviously the side effect of going all in is that if you don't win it all, the offseason is bound to be a tough one.

So go ahead, make jokes about how Davos is entering a rebuild again because haha it's so funny......but seriously, I gotta clean up the mess I made from trying to compete at the cost of our future

Welp, what can I say I love to trade draft picks.

Haha, for real though @Sharkstrong and @11 Eleven both represent great pick ups for where our roster is currently at. I need to make sure we have some more capable wingers what with having so much centers on the roster currently so Scoringson provides that. And for me acquiring another D via trade was always going to be about getting a top tier player and looking past the Tzuyu era. Fish is a highly underrated D with a fantastic contract who is a awesome example of our affiliate program. Super happy to bring both these members on board and had no problem with the big time offering both because of the consistency, team fit and quality of members coming back and getting to keep cap space to play in the free agency space.

Thanks for the deal @ShawnGlade I wish you best of luck in the draft fields.

With @Beaviss being on vacation this season the All-star game isn't going to be handled in an EA game. I know this may be disappointing to some of you but it's unfortunately the timing of things. However that does not mean that we won't be having an ASG, it just means we need to change things up a bit. This vote will decide every player that goes to the ASG, similar to the way it used to be held.

What is different this time around that I think will hopefully make things a bit more interesting is that we're going to treat the ASG similar to how the NHL does (or at least used to, I haven't watched one in awhile) and split it by conferences since we now have distinct conferences again. NA vs. EU. 6 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 2 goalies will represent each conference and it will be simmed using STHS V2 which has a tendency to make results more...interesting to say the least.

As a note as well, because the conferences might be a bit of an uneven way of doing things (though faster), TPE will not be awarded for this ASG. It's just for fun.

So, vote for your favourites and we'll have ourselves a bit of a different ASG experience this season!

I want to start off by congratulating this seasons Founders' cup champions, the Houston Bulls, on an incredible campaign led by an incredible person. This franchise was one of the aftermath effects of the VHLM expanding and to be honest, still has one cool logo that I want to represent one day. Many great players on the team and amazing members that contribute to this site in more ways than one. Congrats! You are the champions. Moving forward, congrats to everyone else - from GM's, to members, to the mystical, twisted man who sims our league @Devise and the trusty left hand, @diamond_ace. Despite being a little more quiet, you can see growth and strength in almost every spot you look in the VHLM. I have a feeling next season is going to be one to look out for. Until then, congrats on the season - enjoy the awards, likely the crazy off-season both leagues are about to have and keep on making the league a great place to spend time kicking ass doing the shit we love with the people we like.

    Hello  @Members

As some of you have likely noticed by now @Quik went on vacation and has simply fallen off the face of the earth, or at least the face of the VHL. In light of this the former blues and I have convened and decided that's likely time to add a new member to the Blue team to help lighten the load, especially going into the off-season. Quik will remain on board in the event of his return (at least for now) but in order to help keep the site running smoothly we would like to officially announce that @Beaviss is joining the blue team!

At the current moment Beav will continue to oversee the  @Recruitment Crew while he trains up a new head for it in addition to taking on his new commish role.

3rd Annual Unofficial VHL Regular Season Awards – S68
Another regular season has come to a close. That means we can dole out some regular season awards! Welcome everyone to the 3rd Annual Unofficial VHL Regular Season Awards for S68.

Anyway, these awards have been created by me. There is no voting process and they are not officially recognized by the VHL Board of Governors. I wrote silly little descriptions for most of these award names in the original award post. This year I'm cutting down on that junk and getting straight to business. Without further ado, away we go:

The Pylon Award (worst +/- rating) – Sven Hitz @JayF D.C. Dragons
Not surprisingly the winner came from one of the expansion teams. Sven led the league with a -58. D.C. Dragons occupied the top 9 slots in worst +/-.

    Previous Winners:
S67 - Piotr Jerwa and Nethila Dissanayake (-34)
    S66 - Bryce Zhields (-49)

Since i’m a TPE whore, I wanted to do the article for theme week. What better than to talk about the team that I was the AGM for, for about half a season.

The Halifax 21st were one of the expansion teams in season 65. They finished that season in the second position with 46 wins, 22 losses, and 4 overtime losses for 96 points. In that season they made it all the way to the cup finals but managed to lose to the Minnesota Storm 4-2. That’s not a bad season for the first season of the 21st. This can be attributed to current superstars such as Julius Freeman, Teegan Glover, Basabara Moose, Dimitiri Volosenkov, Jet Jaguar, and Cody Smith. The issue with the first season, even though the 21st had a bunch of future superstars on the roster they had to go against names such as Codrick Past, Denver Wolfe, and Orion Slade.  As a matter of fact, the 21st have made the playoffs every season since their inception.

They don’t even do anything for that as far as I’m aware. Pretty sure we just set it up that own conference and own division = 8 games and other conference = 5 games so divisions do nothing but give us an easier way to look at things.

As for the actual poll: I voted no for a simple reason, the sample size. This is a single season and while it is a particularly unbalanced one that’s not normal. We’ve had crossover playoffs the last 2 or 3 seasons and it has never come up because usually the conferences kinda sort themselves out balance wise. Just so happens that this season the top 4-5 teams of the league were all in one conference. It’ll happen now and again but on the whole that won’t be the case.

    ECN's "VHL Now!"
    14th Edition "Playoffs are here!"
Welcome back to your ECN coverage of important things happening around VHL and this time we will be looking at playoffs and first games we have seen already played between teams who have graciously made their way into playoffs.

Quite surprisingly, every team that we see in playoffs have had truly competitive series. We are currently 4 games into Playoffs and 3 of the series are tied at 2-2 and only one series has 3-1 score.
Seattle and Toronto are still keeping up the same competitive nature they had in regular season. With series 2-2 and very similar on-ice performance, we see a battle of a young and flourishing team battling against hardened, older team that has all the tools to win any match-up. The question here will be who’s goaltender will win the series for them, either the best young goaltender in VHL Rayz Funk or highly praised goaltender JB Rift?

Calgary and Vancouver are series that probably not a single person thought will go this way. After Calgary sent their star player Diljodh Starload to Vancouver they seem to be performing better as they not only finished season on a better pace then they had at the start of the season, but they have seen to found their way at being a tough team to fight against on the defensive end. Again, another series that will be decided on a single question – will Vancouver be able to crack the shell the shell of Brick Wahl and make their way past the team they have faced 2 playoffs in a row?

Davos and Malmo match-up is interesting, yes, Malmo on paper has the better roster and they are clearly the favorites for the cup win, that being said, we can not lay off the idea that Davos could completely destroy Malmo and be victorious in the end. Here Davos will have to rely on their star goal-tending and offensive capabilities that we see from players like Jake Davis. Who knows, maybe their secret weapon Gritty will be the one to lead the team to the next round?

Helsinki and Riga match-up is probably the most interesting one considering how much star power is surrounding both teams. Helsinki and their fantastic duo in Julian Borwinn and Kronos Bailey have kept everyone on their toes after they have continued their fantastic play we saw in regular season. For Riga it is the question of whether or not their amazing and experienced forwards in Rauno Palo and Ryan Kastelic will be able to push for multi point games and be as effective on the offensive end as their opposing team.

All in all, we have to wait and see who will be going out of the first round and who will be getting their chance at winning the prize everyone wants to get – Continental cup! Will they be current champions Vancouver Wolves or will there be a new challenger who will hoist the cup and have the bragging rights for the next season.
