The Minot fans have been treated to top-knotch hockey this entire season, with the team performing well. The main focus on the team this year has been to load up with as much offensive talent as they can get while not even bothering improving their defense or goaltending. While it has been an exciting brand of hockey to watch, the fans were treated to something extra special when they looked into the stands at a recent home game.
 
Up in the stands was none other than pop sensation, Katy Perry. She had a little bit of time to burn while on her current North American tour and had decided to take in a Gladiators game on the weekend. What may have been even more surprising than her being there was the players jersey which she was wearing. Katy Perry had decided to invest in the captain himself, Jakob Linholm.
 
Linholm has been having a good season this year for the Gladiators, scoring 82 points in 44 games this season. Linholm has recently been seen partying it up with a bunch of the party animals from the NHL. Him, along with Tyler Seguin, were seen at a Katy Perry concert recently and he apparently caught her attention.
 
"Yeah I noticed that she was out there but who wouldn't? She is kind of a big deal in the world right now and were glad that she is a fan of the Gladiators. It's also pretty cool that she decided to wear my jersey to the game today. I hope that she didn't spend too much on that jersey tho because she is going to need to buy an Americans one for next year."

Effort: 2/2 - Pretty solid for a non-graphics guy
Look: 2/3 - I think it looks pretty good for a non-graphic guy.  The stock work is a little bit over the place (the stars don't really work on the right side), but the render placement is good and the blending is decent.  You have the rule of thirds thing down with the render, however the text should go up about 20 pixels or so (should be more in the center of the sig here.  I think a more simple text would work (like an arial or a myriad pro)  Try bold/black and play with the character spacing.  It could also use some lighting and adjustment layers (but those are a little more advanced)

It's the weekend, people probably had better things to do. 

I wasn't posting 6000 words when NY was cursed and not winning despite having great rosters in the playoffs. Certainly different since they did make the playoffs, but league parity also wasn't as deep back then. It's just a sim at the end of the day. It sucks when things don't go great and I do feel empathy toward you guys since you do have a good active team. But again, so does most of the league. Things go bad for a season, a sim or whatever? Bite the bullet, suck it up and move on. 

No offense Toast but Seattle isn't that much higher in overall than the other teams. Like 1 or 2? I really think you guys underestimate league parity to be honest. It isn't just New York and Riga. The fact that the Bears specifically act like their roster on paper is consistently the best roster in the league is rather laughable. It's a good roster. Davos is a good roster, Toronto, Quebec, New York, Riga. The "they aren't that talented" comment to me shows how out of touch you really are with the league right now. So many teams with quality goalies, 400+ TPE players, star power spread out all over the league. 

Boys, it's bad enough we lost. It's even worse that it was to Cologne. But 5-0? That ain't cool guys. That must never happen again.

We play them again next game. This time, we're going to show those Krauts how to REALLY play hockey. I want ten goals. Let's beat their asses so badly that Chekov hits the showers early, then make COL G regret ever being born. We will make the kaiser weep!

Now boys, let's go kick some German ass! Onwards Davos!

Ottawa Makes a Move
 

 
Ottawa, Canada – Not much has gone right in Ottawa so far in Season 37. Although the team wasn’t expected to finish higher than 3rd in the North American Conference, few hockey pundits believed that the team would be as bad as they have been so far. With only 2 wins and 4 points to their name in 27 games played, the Lynx are 2nd to last in the entire VHLM. While 4 points is usually bad enough to land a team last in the league, the lowly Brampton Blades have done even worse than the Lynx. Although they’ve only played 26 games, they currently have 0 points. With the team performing this far below expectations, it’s no surprise that Ottawa has begun selling off its active players. The first skater to be moved was recent 2nd round pick Chris Raymond. The Lynx put out the following press release:
 
          "The Ottawa Lynx have traded forward Chris Raymond and the S38 Yukon 2nd round pick to the Minot Gladiators for the S39 Minot 1st round pick and the S39 Yukon 2nd round pick. Chris was a professional both on and off the ice during his time in Ottawa. The Ottawa Lynx organization wishes him luck in Minot."

Well the cat is out of the bag. We are happy to welcome our Assistant GM's player, Chris Raymond to the team. It took a little bit of talking but he was worth what was paid for. Now let's continue chasing the cup.
