I'll keep it short and sweet (coming back after done writing this to say LOL). Last season, the loss to Toronto was probably shocking for everyone but it's something in the sims and even real life that we have to accept. Toronto was a good group of members and it was fun to watch their enthusiasms. Moving into this season, we made a few moves and positioned ourselves once again to hopefully make the playoff and chase another championship. For me, we're entering the season with one of the scarier offensive cores going in the league right now, a complete 180 from last season where it was arguably our defensive core. These 3, including many others, have been awesome in the LR but these 3 stood out to me. Tons of people in their bleed the Bears colors and while he is new, Rice is a massive part to the LR and some I trust to help steer the team. The other 2, They're at the very top. Both of them are loyal to the bone and would do anything for the team. I've been very lucky to have both of them on the Bears and while I know a fake letter in a online league isn't much, I'm very happy to reward and show appreciation to each of you.

Damn shame, Lucifer is upset because he lost, but not just because he lost, but because once again inactivity has triumphed the playoffs. Over the years, it's happened time, and time, and time again. Every single season there always happens to be a 'power' team that flies under the radar with a lack of activity, a lack of players, a double and triple shifting method, while those teams that comply with the rules and abide by the rules seem to be shit on and lose. It's a revolving door in the VHLM, something Lucifer and his agent IR have seen too many times in their 10 season tenure now. 
 
So what happens now? Likely the same thing. These teams have been punished, these teams have lost picks, but they continue to do it. Sad reality is, it'll never stop until GM's begin to either lose their jobs, or are forced to bench their inactives in the playoffs as punishment for even having them in the first place when they aren't even supposed to be there. But that isn't up to us, we're just here living our lives and our dreams, but it's truly a sad problem to have, especially with all the poor recruits who missed out on the playoff dream so a team could win some games with half an active roster to barely enjoy the experience.

A month ago, a punishment was handed out to Minnesota for violation of the prime directive of the VHLM: that the league is for retention as a primary focus and the competition aspect is only secondary to that aim. To give credit where credit is due: @Rayzor_7 has done very well to that end since then, which has been necessary from several teams given that we were just recently in the midst of the biggest recruiting drive the site has ever seen.
 
As a result of that recruiting drive, and as his first major action in the role of my fellow VHLM Commissioner, @Acydburn went through the rosters, checking for inactives, comparing the number of claims offered on players, etc. This was entered into a spreadsheet and it was a quite thorough search - the results were that most teams, whether of their own accord or as a result of my multiple warnings and tags in the discord, have either been adequately doing their jobs regarding getting in new players or were fairly close to such a standard (a few with minor abnormalities but the effort seemed to be there). However, a few teams were found in violation, to varying degrees of severity - one in fact was particularly severe, with inactives dating back months while new players were unable to find roster spots. We've reached out to the GMs of the teams in question, and received a reply from two of the three, and after a discussion between the two of us, the following punishments have been reached:
 
Ottawa @DoktorFunk will be deducted a 1st and 3rd.
Mississauga @ColeMrtz will be deducted a 3rd.
Halifax @Dil will be deducted a 4th.
 
These picks will be taken from the earliest remaining picks each team has - for example, Ottawa does not have S75 1st, so will be deducted S76 1st.

So a couple of days ago, @Ricer13 posted on the suggestion thread suggesting that we should push for social media as a form of recruitment with Twitter as the main platform.
So far there's now a team that actually manages the VHLM aspect of the Twitter. Yes there's now a team for posting content regarding the VHLM on the VHL Twitter account. We do plan to post daily content featuring some of you guy's awesome work in the VHL in order to showcase the type of stuff we do here. From graphics, to articles, even some VSN if permitted. So why am I writing this? Well I just want to tell you to simply follow the VHL Twitter and like and retweet. I personally feel like this is has a good potential of bringing in new people and showcasing your great stuff here, and we really want to see this work in order to help the VHL grow as a sim league. By simply just liking or retweeting, we could at least spread the word out that we're a thing and we can hopefully gain new member's in the process. We are seeing if we can make a schedule to possibly see what we can post daily and to not burn ourselves out in the process as well. So yeah, if y'all want, please spread this around the LRs and the VHL to sorta just get the word out. Thank you.
 
Also if you got any good ideas or any sort of suggestions, let us know down below and we can maybe integrate it into what we're tryna do! And again, thank you.

I will apply. I don't expect to get it considering a lot of other people on here have been more active than me and are probably more deserving. However, I think my platform needs to be discussed. The following two pictures cannot happen, and if I am made VHLM commish I will implement changes to fix this including possible draft pick capping in drafts, completely disallowing the trading of draft picks, and re implementing the 2 comments in VHLM Game threads for practice facility approach from last time I was commish.
