  1. I think it would make it less of a headache minus every 4 years when everything resets. I would also volunteer to organise all of that.,I wouldn't mind taking on that headache but I understand what you are saying. I think I'm ok with Dual citizenship in emergency situations. and I understand the TPE, makes sense.
  2. As a fairly new member of the site I have done my best to stay out of complex conversations because well, I don't know the ropes. However, something that caught my attention was the process involving the GM selection process at the WJC. Lots of ideas have popped into my head and I would like to ask the general population what they would like to do. This article is meant to spur conversation into making changes to how we run this site and future development of communication to the new generations. I've been on this site for a couple of months and it almost feels like a caste system. I know my GM and my team. I feel like an untouchable, the people who have been here longer seemed annoyed with anything said by players who have less experience. I didn't even know about the WJC GM selection until days later when I checked my discord. Something that big should be informed to the masses. I'm glad one of my teammates was selected but I would have also appreciated a chance to throw my hat in the ring (despite the lack of experience). So I'd like to address some ideas: The Implementation of Committees: In real life, every country has a committee that selects the country's GM and then the GM picks the Coach. While I would like the idea of implementing a coaching system, that's a topic for another day. So my overall proposal is that every team is granted a committee as opposed to one committee selecting all GM's. These committees will be three people who have played out at least three full seasons in the VHL. It will be a job that is a capped 2 TPE towards their players. To select these committees, I believe there should be an election. A separate topic can be created where a neutral party can hold a press conference for candidates to campaign (would count as Press Conference for the week). Then a Google Doc poll can be created, just like the ones @Josh. has been making for the VHLM Predictions (10/10). Everyone will be tagged in this thread and will be rewarded 1 Uncapped TPE for participation in the election. Candidates can run for multiple countries but can not be hired for more than one. Every Four WJC the Committees can be voted upon once again unless ran unopposed. GM Selection: Once committees have been set up they are then free to select a GM. Here's where things get extra spicey. So for the WJC I propose it to be a complete amateur showcase. That means all GM's being people who have not completed more than one season in the VHL and have zero managerial experience except possibly being an AGM. I think this brings some more fun to the competition rather than having seasoned vets who understand the simming principles. The World Cup these restrictions would be lifted but I would also like to see the use of committees at the Pro level. To entice people to take the GM role seriously I propose the job pay 6 Capped TPE. If the committee decides to move on from the current GM he can be bought out at a price of 3 capped TPE. If the entire committee believes that the GM was negligent in his role, the player must forfeit their next week's TPE. I believe the introduction of a high risk- high reward system would put more of competitiveness into the competition. No Dual Citizenship: I believe players should not have the ability to switch nations until their removal from WJC eligibility. And they must make a one-time selection once they're introduced to the WC. Basically, in simplest terms, I declared as Swiss even though I was born in the U.S. I can not switch my nationality representation until I have been entered into the pro world cup. I believe this prevents stacking and cliques trying to stay together. Have some fun, losing is part of the experience. Forsberg faced Sakic many of times. I like my teammates and my GM but there's some fun to be had going against them as well. The Decrease in TPE Limit: As a VHLM player, my TPE sits at about 145. Not good overall, but decent, considering the amount of time I've been on this site. I've maxed out every week except my first week because I claimed Welfare not understanding the system. However, I will be facing players that are near 350 TPE. Which is completely ridiculous. I believe it should be brought down to 275TPE at least. This will create a more equal playing field for players. A lot of players who are new but have been getting their full weekly TPE are being left out while people on their 3rd or 4th character are hopped up onto the first line. Let other people have some fun. If you're trying to entice new people to stick around, putting them on the back burner doesn't exactly make a great business model. Final Thoughts: These are not the end all to end all. Its to open discussion on how to improve the experience on this website. Some of my thoughts may already be happening too and if they are I'm sorry. Also, I wouldn't mind these principles being implemented into the VHL as well. I like the idea of a GM being fired. Rather than the same people hold power, open the door for others who want to have a chance at managing a VHL team. Have the current GM's or just the long-standing ones be moved up into an owner role where you run operations for a designated amount of seasons unless you "sell the team" to somebody else. Also, have we ever thought about moving the sim system to NHL? Give some visual representation? I understand the difficulty and time consumption as we would need a complete overhaul of the rating system. So for another time then Thank you for your time this has been my TED Talk. 4. Review- Make sure to only bold headings. Would like to see you make it more of a cohesive unit. Maybe talk about the skaters as one section and separate the goalies. Hope to see more of you around
  5. Review- I'd like to become a gm someday. But I like your article, felt very realistic. Good Luck on the rest of your season.
  6. Review- I like what you're doing here. Well written. I would suggest adding a picture of one of them not all 5 (Would be too much imo). Also a little salty no Bulls are on this list but I understand why
  7. Review- Good information, I assume you've written the Biography and if you haven't you really should. I would be a bigger fan if you put the stats in a graph or something, make it easier to find. Good luck on your career.
  8. Review- Biographies are the hardest review for me because they typically dull on and have the same basic story. This one was very easy to read. Always like the boy who got inspiration from their childhood heroes. Also entertain the idea of a trade lol
  9. Review- I read the whole thing and just the amount of grammatical errors had me sighing and then I saw your disclaimer. For the first time writing a story in English, it's very well done. For future reference I would put your disclaimer at the beginning of the story

  11. VHL.COM~ Houston, TX By: Gloria Borger II If you have been following my articles on the young goaltender Owen May, you know the hard work he's put into the opportunity to play in the VHL. However, an outsider may not see anything special in the young man. Frustration had been boiling over as of late for May, but this week has seen a jump in overall play. In total May has a .870 save percentage and has a goal against average of 3.33. Nothing that stands out to the naked eye. Those numbers resulted in May being 7th in Save Percentage and 5th in Goals Against Average. May moves up to 6th in save percentage if you remove the tender who has appeared in two games for the Las Vegas Aces. One stat has proved to be in May's favor, Shutouts. While May is quik to credit his defense for the recorded shutouts it can't be said that his influence hasn't been present. Since his outburst at practice a week ago, May has played exceptionally well. Against the Yukon Rush May saved 30 of 33 shots, against the Wild 24 of 26 shots, and against Yukon all 22 shots. It appears as though May's Save Percentage could rise, resulting in his team winning some more difficult games.
  12. Red Bull, the company responsible for top soccer teams in both Europe and America, has chosen a new direction with their advertisements. The Houston Bulls have been RED hot (pun intended). They currently are two points behind second place and sit in fourth tied in points with two other teams. As an expansion team, Houston has definitely turned some heads However, something stands out when it comes to the Houston Bulls. In twenty-six games played, the Houston Bulls have faced the Yukon Rush seventeen times and face each other five more times. Red Bull has reached out to the league and has signed up the two teams for the Red Bull Series. The games will be highly competitive with both teams exchanging blows. The goal differential between the two sides is three points in favor of Houston with nine games being decided by one goal. The Bulls have won ten of the seventeen meetings between the two teams. The series has been a fan's dream. The Rush roster is highlighted by the league's point leader in Hunter Hearst Helmsley. The Bulls have two players on the top ten in points with players Kari Jurri and Maximillian Kirbsson. The three players alone combine for 126 points. The games are high flying and high scoring with the exception of the two shutouts produced by the Houston Defense. In the five remaining games between the two sides, four will be in Yukon while just one will be in Houston. Fans interested in the event will get another chance next year, if unable to make any of the remaining five games. When asked Red Bull CEO, Dietrich Mateschitz, said he planned to keep the series going until he founded his own team in the VHL. In a released statement the US branch had this to say: "We have always been at the front lines when it comes to pioneering the athletic spirit. We have found success in New York and once more want to play a part in North American sports. The inter-continental rivalry has caught the attention of our advisors. We have little experience with the VHL and have decided to test the series as a gateway to further involvement. The Houston Bulls and Yukon Rush have provided the people with excellent entertainment and we want to further the fan experience." The slogan for the event is "Red Bull gives the players a Rush of energy to be competitive". Both teams will wear practice jersey's that modify their logos to the Red Bull trademark logo. As well as participate in a Team Vs Team skills competition in Houston and the final game in Yukon. After the five games are completed, whoever has won the most games (including previous games played) will win the Bull Rush trophy. Each year the winner will transfer the trophy to the other unless consecutive wins are achieved. Tiebreakers are in place for the future, in the off chance that an equal number of games are won between the two sides. This is sure to begin a very heated rivalry.
  13. Review: Really well put together. I really enjoyed reading it. Made me chuckle a few times, I'll give you that. Overall nice job
  14. Review: The season is young, I'm sure things will be better. I would like this article more if it was more professional. Kinda takes out of the role play when the sentences are short and choppy. Overall, an interesting read.
  15. Review: Wouldn't suggest doing this while driving...but props anyways. Overall I think it was pretty well made, some times you kinda lost your train of thought. Made some good points. Would like to hear this from a home mic if you have one. But cheers, keep doing what you're doing.
  16. Review: Not gonna lie, I definitely chuckled at Bjorn Champions. Very fun read. Unsure why the entire last part is in italics though. Other than that and maybe some better paragraph spacing I thought it was great.
  17. Review: Good writing. However wouldn't hurt to put it through a word processor. Some spelling mistakes and weird sentences. Also I like to think that his parents make his wikipedia page and at the bottom write how proud of him they are lol. Overall a fun read man.
  18. Owen May's start to his professional career has been not been a smooth one. In 19 games he's won 11 games with a .864 save percentage and a 3.40 goals against average. While the Buffalonian has recorded a league leading 2 shut outs, he's been inconsistent in the net. May has commonly been a positive face in front of the mic, but the recent form has left May frustrated. After a recent loss to the Yukon Rush, in their home & home series, May refused to comment. May has looked disheartened at practice, failing to respond to any reporters. May also did not appear on his weekly appearance on WGR 550. After yesterday's practice, May finally met with reporters. "I've not been in a good state of mind. My performance on the ice has left much to be desired. I've been avoiding the media because I've been angry and very violent. I didn't want to say anything that may be taken out of context. I've been working with the coach trying to get my technical ability up. I can't help the team allowing six goals a game. Soon I may find myself back in Europe." May allowed an easy goal earlier at today's practice. He let out some profanity before being scolded by his coach. May was leaving practice as he broke his stick over the stanchion. A heated exchange between May and a heckler left a bad taste in May's mouth. "You know, this guy comes and starts spewing some garbage like I don't know how I've been performing. I've sucked, cut and dry. I'm young and I've been working hard to improve. Right now I'm having a rough time mentally and have been on edge. I'm anxious for the next game to try and turn this bad streak around" May's sour streak has still shown promise. Two shutouts have seen May ranked as the third best goaltender in the upcoming VHL draft. May was asked about the poll but had no interest. "It's great that I'm being considered a top goalie but I don't think I've played at a level to get there yet. Right now I'm here to help Houston win not think about my personal desires. I hate to think that I'm costing us games. I've talked to the general manager and he's been trying to reassure that young goaltenders struggle in this league, especially ones from Europe." May hasn't been shy when it comes to the Houston Bulls General Manager. "He's been very helpful, he's one of the best goalies in the VHL. He's been supporting me along the way and making sure I feel comfortable in the league. I can't say enough good things about the guy. I hope to compete against him soon at the world's top level." May since then has returned to Buffalo to practice with Martin Biron. "I'm a little too far to get back to Czechoslovakia, so I'll meet with Marty and work on some more complex stuff. He's a pretty funny guy and tends to cheer me up when I get in slumps. Can't wait to see him and get a little laugh."
  19. VHL.COM- Houston, Texas By Gloria Borger II We've all had that nightmare. We have an important job and the alarm clock doesn't go off, or we forget our pants. Earlier this week, starting Houston Bulls goaltender, Owen May had his nightmare become reality. On his way to the game against the Yukon Rush, Owen May's car got a flat tire and spun out. May was luckily uninjured but was left without transportation May was forced to call for a taxi. However, May's phone was broken from being thrown around in the car. Sitting alone on the highway, May checked his watch...two hours before game time. May begun to panic and started attempting to wave down passing cars. Unfortunately no one would stop. While the Houston Bulls have attracted moderate attention in the rink, the players are relatively unknown. By no means are they superstars in the city that houses such superstars as Jose Altuve and DeAndre Hopkins. However, a pedestrian came to May's aide. Houston superfan Sergio Ramirez, stopped to help May out. May gave Ramirez tickets to the next two home stands and signed gear. May was seen the next day doing punishment sprints. That didn't stop May from being grateful
