  1. 1. I believe it was a good trade. Moving out an older forward that might not around much longer for a player that will have at least two seasons on the team during the competitive years is always a good idea. 2. It's always a good surprise when you can grab a 30 goals score to help out in the lean years. 3. Swinging a deal for the 1st overall pick is always impressive, especially when you are in a full rebuild. 4. Always nice when your home grown talent signs long-term. Slater is a quality d-man that will really help the young guys when they come into the league next year. 5. It might be hard with to win ROTY with the current roster, but anything can happen once the puck drops on the season 6. Excited to see what Ninefingers can do as a power forward for the Wolves
  2. Welcome! Hope you enjoy yourself in the VHL
  3. Welcome, hope you enjoy yourself in this nice little community
  4. Welcome, even if you are an Oil Kings fan!
  5. Can’t wait to spend the majority of my career wit you in Stockholm and Van City!
  6. Martin heads to Europe Riley Martin will be heading to Stockholm to play in the VHLE in Season Ninety-Two after a longer than anticipated wait during the VHLE Entry draft. Martin had to wait until the fourth and final round before Stockholm called his name, something that will hopefully inspire the young American winger after a disappointing season last year with the Halifax 21st of the VHLM. Last season with a short bench in Halifax Martin put up a disappointing twenty-six goals and twenty-two points in the seventy-two regular season games he played in, along with the fourth worst plus minus in the VHLM with a minus thirty-three. Martin will need to iMovie in many areas if he wishes to have an impactful role with Stockholm in Season Ninety-two. Goal scoring- With only twenty-six goals last season on 211 shots, Martin needed to work on his shooting ability during the off-season. He fully committed to his the past few week and was able to hit the ice each week working on a quicker release with former NHLer and current mentor to NHL stars such as Connor McDavid, Gary Roberts. With Roberts leading the training for Martin, one would expect Martin to put up better numbers than he did last season in the VHLM. Locker Room Presence- While Martin believes he has a decent presence in his teams locker room over the past year and a half he spent in the VHLM, his agent played him a clip from the VHLE draft where one of the commentators stated he doesn’t respond to messages. While this shocked Martin as no VHLE GMs reached out to Martin and he responded as quick as he could to the three VHL GMs that reached out to him, Martin will need to improve on this perceived notion of him. While Martin tries to hype up his teammates during practice he might have to start looking at engaging with others around the league that he doesn’t have daily interactions with. After being drafted Twenty-First overall expectations for Martin are not very high, but expectations for the rest of the Vikings will be much higher. After finishing last season as the fourth best team in the VHLE, Stockholm is expecting more this season, especially offensively where they currently have eight roster players, compared to the lone defenseman currently on the roster. While the Vikings management are appearing to bank on out scoring opponents each night, they can look toward their Ninth Overall selection Giorgiy Constanza to help out the defense each night, as he showed last season in Halifax, he doesn’t need much of a roster in-front of him to make an impact. We will have to wait and see what this season has in store of the Vikings with the roster assembled over the course of the last few seasons.
  7. Quite a draft night in Vancouver The Vancouver Wolves entered the Season Ninety-One VHL Entry draft with six draft choices in the First Round, including the First Overall draft pick after an off-season trade with the New York Americans. While there was a little bit of debate as to who would be selected First Overall between Logan Ninefingers and George Richmond, eventually the Wolves decided on Right Winger Logan Ninefingers as the top pick in the draft. After picking up two forwards with the first two picks they had, Vancouver then turned there attention to the blue line picking up Vlad Von Carstein and Guntis Gavilrovs with the Sixth and Seventh Overall picks in the draft. When the Wolves returned to the podium for the Twelfth Overall selection the team again went defense, picking up DB IV, who spent last season in the VHLM with the Houston Bulls. The Wolves when then close out their stellar draft by selecting Joe Shmo with the second last pick in the First Round, Fifteenth Overall. While there might be some cap he’ll for the Wolves a few years down the road, the future is sure looking bright in Vancouver with the above listed selection this evening.
  8. 1. I don’t remember the other times I was in the league for the Christmas content, so I enjoyed it. I do remember the VHL Christmas scavenger hunt hunt which I hated so this was much better. 2. Everyone that helps the league tick, from commissioners to GMs to updaters, etc. 3. Trying to make enough money to pay for all the formula the next 4-5 months. Questions: 1. Does Cologne pull off the four peat this year in the VHLM? 2. How many players will break the 100 point threshold in the VHL this season? 3. Will the league see its first 60 goal scorer since Season Eighty-three this year? If so who?
  9. With the Season Ninety-Two VHL Entry draft on the horizon, many of the players drafted in the Season Ninety-One VHL Entry draft will be looking to make the jump into the VHL this season. Today we will look at some of the players drafted in the last VHL draft to see where they are today and the progress they have made over the course of last season. C. G. Yannick Janser , TPE: 378 (First Overall, drafted by New York Americans and currently signed with New York): The first selection from last years draft, certainly appears ready for his VHL debut in Season Ninety-Two. Janser currently sits at 599 TPE, which is currently sixth best on the Americans roster. Just like in the VHL Entry Draft, Jansen was also selected First Overall in the VHLE Entry Draft to the Vasteras Iron Eagles, where he played in all seventy-two regular season and eleven playoff games with the Swedish based VHLE club. The Swiss both defensive defenseman had a decent season while helping Vasteras reach the Renaissance cup finals, putting up twelve goals and thirty-six assists in those seventy-two regular season games, while also adding in five assists in the playoffs. With huge expectations heading into his first VHL season, Janser will need to continue with his amazing work ethic to ensure his draft position matches his career output. Best of luck to Janser and the Americans in the upcoming VHL season. T. Reingaard , TPE: 395 (Second Overall, drafted by Moscow Menace and currently signed with Warsaw): The best player TPE wise and top rated forward in the VHL Season Ninety-One Entry draft, Thor Reingaard, is coming off his second full year as well in the VHLE after being drafted Sixth Overall in the VHLE Entry draft by the Vasteras Iron Eagles. The Eighteen year old winger put up good numbers in his second year in the VHLE after playing in seventy-two games as a free agent signing with Vasteras in Season Ninety. In seventy-two regular season games in Season Ninety-One Thor put up eighteen goals and forty-one assists, which he then followed up with two goals and ten assists in Vasteras’ eleven playoff games. Another top earner from the draft class, Thors work ethic wasn’t enough to keep him in a Moscow as he was dealt to Warsaw this off-season for a First and Second round selection, which shows how much he was valued by both Moscow and Warsaw. Thor will have his chance this season to show the league is was definitely worth his draft position and the heavy price paid by Warsaw to bring him on board. L. Reingaard , TPE: 349 (Third Overall, drafted by Moscow Menace and currently signed with Moscow): The second Reingaard taken in the VHL Entry Draft Leif Reingaard will look to make the jump to the VHL this season without his family member apart of the franchise. Leif was the second best defenseman in the draft behind Janser, but has proven since his draft day, that he is more than capable of playing like a First Overall pick. In his one and only season in the VHLE with Vasteras, Leif put up an eye popping twenty goals and fifty-three assists in the regular season, while adding three goals and four assists in the eleven playoff games he and Vasteras played in. Leif currently has the lowest TPA of the defenseman currently listed on the Menaces roster, but it will only be a matter of time before he likely becomes the number one defender on Moscows roster. S. M. Moth , TPE: 347 (Fourth Overall drafted by Seattle Bears and currently signed with Prague Phantoms): Moth was the first player from the Season Ninety-One draft class that was traded this off-season, as Seattle and Prague agreed to a trade early on in the off-season, to swap some players and upcoming draft choices. Moon joins a Prague team that has an older core at all positions as no other members of the roster are Season Ninety or Season Ninety-One draftees. Moth spent last season in the VHLE with the Stockholm Vikings, where he put up and extremely successful offensive season, putting up forty-six goals and forty-six assist, which was second best in the entire league. Moon will taking some hardware with him to Prague as his forty-six goals led the league in the VHLE, A shot first forward, Moon will hopefully help lead the Phantoms back to the VHL playoffs in Season Ninety-Two. O. Syko , TPE: 299 (Fifth Overall drafted by Moscow Menace and currently signed with Moscow): The first goaltender off the board in the Season Ninety-One VHL Entry draft, Syko looks ready to jump to the VHL after a stellar season in the VHLE with Stockholm last season. Last year with the Vikings, Syko saw action in sixty-six of the teams seventy-two games where he put up a 35-24-5 record along with a .938 save percentage and 2.42 goals against average. Syko also lead the entire VHLE in shoutouts with an eye popping 7 shutouts in those sixty-six games. Syko also saw the second most shots a giant during the season playing for Stockholm, facing 2514 shots. Moscow currently has another goaltender on the roster, in Joseph Reed, but with Syko already ahead of the Season Eighty-Nine draft tee Reed in terms of TPE, we foresee Syko playing the maximum amounts of games allowed for starting netminders in the VHL this upcoming season. J. Schwarzer , TPE: 303 (Sixth Overall drafted by Chicago Phoenix and currently signed with Chicago): Schwarzer was selected by the Chicago Phoenix in last years draft after amassing 303 TPE prior to the draft night. Schwarzer was passed up many times over on during his previous drafts in the VHLM and VHLE, where he was selected twenty-ninth overall and sixth overall and Chicago wasn’t willing to make the same mistakes those franchises that passed up on Schwarzer made in the VHLM(29th) and VHLE(6th). Schwarzer played last season with the eventual Renaissance Cup winners, the Cologne Express, were he put up a post per game with thirty-five goals and thirty-eight assists. Schwarzer continued playing well into the post-season as he accumulated five goals and two assists in Colognes’ nine playoff games. Chicagos fans and management can only hope that Schwarzer can bring that winning attitude to town and help the Phoenix back to the promise land in the VHL. G. Ironhide , TPE: 340 (Seventh Overall drafted by Helsinki Titans and currently signed with Helsinki): When the Helsinki Titans strolled up to the podium with the Seventh Overall pick, they were feeling great about the possibility of selecting the fifth highest earner in the draft. Ironside comes from a great player agency, which makes the fact he fell to Seventh Overall even more puzzling. After being selected by Helsinki, Ironsides reported to the Stockholm Vikings who selected him in the VHLE Entry draft the same year, Tenth Overall. Ironside showed his offensive prowess in Stockholm last season putting up thirty-five goals and forty-seven assists in seventy-two regular season games. While during Stockholm playoff series, he also added five assists in six games. Ironside now joins a team in Helsinki that shocked the VHL last season by making the Continental Cup finals after making the playoffs on the last day of the regular season, and the Titans brass hope that Ironside can help them get back to the finals again for a second straight season. R. Panda , TPE: 288 (Eighth Overall drafted by Riga Reign and currently signed with Riga): Red Panda is next in the list after being selected by the Riga Reign with the Eighth Overall pick in the draft. The second goaltender selected in the draft, Panda is expected to compete for time in net with incumbent starter Henry Tucker Jr in Season Ninety-Two. Panda spent last season in the VHLE with the. Bratislava Watchmen, where he was the backup. Panda appeared in thirty-three games last season as the teams backup, posting a 11-10-4 record along with a .928 save percentage and 2.91 goals against average. Now with his focus turned towards the VHL, Panda will likely need to wait one more season before he takes over the starting role with Riga. D. Vidarsson , TPE: 283 (Ninth Overall drafted by Vancouver Wolves and currently signed with Vancouver): Another goaltender was next off the board as the Vancouver Wolves selected Vldarsson with the Ninth pick on the draft. Vladrasson had an outstanding season with the Rome Gladiators of the VHLE last season, including a league leading thirty-nine wins, and 942 save percentage. With those two lead leading statistics there is a very good chance Vladarsson could be taking home the Season Ninety-One Orion D.H. Chester award for the leagues top goalie at the awards ceremony this upcoming week. After a stellar performance this past season Vancouver is thrifty have the youngster joining the club this season, and hope he can continue his dominate ways in the VHL T. Allard , TPE: 279 (Tenth Overall drafted by D.C. Dragons and currently signed with D.C.): Allard is the next man off the board after the D.C Dragons made him the Tenth Overall selection in the Season Ninety-One VHL entry draft. Allard is another member in the draft class that helped the Cologne Express win their this straight Renaissance Cup. Allard has a decent regular season for the Express last year as he put up fourteen goals and twenty-nine assists in the teams seventy-two games. Allard then turned up his offensive game in the post-season as he put up a pout lee game performance with three goals and six assists in the teams nine game playoff run. As of writing this article, the Express have yet to officially call Allard up to the VHL, so Allard might be returning to the Express for another season in Season Ninety-Two before joining his VHL club. L. Collberg , TPE: 280 (Eleventh Overall drafted by Chicago Phoenix and currently signed with Chicago): Next in the list is the second draft pick of the night in the First Round for the Chicago Phoenix. After dipping into the forward pool with the first pick, the Phoenix decided to help shore up their defensive corps by drafting Lionel Colbert. Collbeeg is another member of the Renaissance Cup winning Cologne Expeess last season, where he had a very impressive offensive season. Collbeeg played in all seventy-two regular season games for the Express putting up seventeen goals and forth-six assists, while in the post-season he added one goal and six assists in the teams nine playoff games. While Collberg currentl has less than 400 TPE, which would make him eligible for another VHLE season, Collberg appears on the Chicago roster on the teams player page and will likely made his VHL debut in game one of the upcoming season. Mina , TPE: 296 (Twelfth Overall drafted by Riga Reign and currently signed with Riga): The Riga Reign would again step up to the podium with the Twelfth Overall selection after last picking up Red Panda with the Eighth Overall draft choice. Like Chicago the pick before them, Riga would pick up a defender to help the team out, picking up Mina with this selection. Mina would go onto play in the VHLE after the draft for Bratislava, where he played lights out on a team that would end up missing the playoffs. Mina would put up twenty-one goals and fifty-one assists in the regular season, which was third best in the league amongst all VHLE defenders. Mona will join the Reign this season as the teams third best defenseman, but should quickly become the number one defender on the team by seasons end. S. Moth , TPE: 292 (Thirteenth Overall drafted by Warsaw Predators and currently signed with Warsaw): Next in our list was the first pick of the draft for the Warsaw Predators. The Predators continued the recent trend of going defensive, by selecting Sunset Moth. It appears Month isn’t quite VHL ready this season and will look to spend another season in the VHLE, after spending last season with the Rome Gladiators, which will be his third season in the league after signing as a free agent with the Bratislava Watchmen prior to Season Ninety. Moth and the Predators hop the third time will be the charm and he’ll joint the club in Season Ninety-Three. T. Kadachi , TPE: 301 (Fourteenth Overall drafted by Seattle Bears and currently signed with Seattle): The only player selected in the First Round to play in the VHL in Season Ninety, Toby Karachi was the next selection by the Seattle Bears. Kadachi played in all seventy-two games last season for the Bears posting six goals and seven assists. Kadachi now with a full VHL season under his belt will look to build off those numbers in his second full season in the big leagues. R. Kagamine , TPE: 255 (Fifteenth Overall drafted by New York Americans and currently signed with New York): Next up is Rin Kagamine who was the second last pick in the First Round by the New York Americans. After being drafted by New York Rin spent last season in the VHLE with the Oslo Storm. Rin put up decent numbers on a team that didn’t do much last season as he put up fourteen goals and forty-five assists in the Storms seventh-two game regular season. Although he is under the threshold of TPE to play another season in the VHLM, the American brass has called Rin up to the big club to make his VHL debut this season. G. Mattias , TPE: 229 (Sixteenth Overall drafted by Seattle Bears and currently signed with Seattle): The final pick of the round went to the Seattle Bears who selected winger Gustav Mattias. Mattias spent last year in the VHLE with the Vasteras Iron Eagles where he put up five goals and seven assists. While the numbers didn’t jump off the board for those who follow the league, the youngster from America worked his tail off each night and has earned the right to jump into the VHL this season. Matthias and the Bears brass hope that hard work will pay off this season on the scoresheet. 2,381 Words claiming for weeks: January 1-7 January 8-14 January 15-21 January 22-28
  10. Happy New Year and welcome to @Bleekus. Hope you enjoy your time here.
  11. Congratulations to both hires!
  12. Player Spotlight – Wayne Shotzky Wayne Shotzky joined the VHL on November 11th, 2023 after his player agent @Kenamatic signed the papers to have the Canadian born winger added to the pool of eligible players for the Season Ninety-Two VHL Entry Draft. Shotzky would quickly join the Mississauga Hounds of the VHLM for the remainder of Season Ninety-One, where he played in thirty-four regular season games for the Hounds. Shotzky quickly impressed VHL fans and scouts in his shortened VHLM season as the twenty year old put up sixteen goals and twenty-four assists in those thirty-four games. Shotzky and the Hounds were able to make the VHLM playoffs last season, where Shotzky impressed again with two goals and two assists in the six Hounds playoff games. As a first generation player in the VHL, Shotzky has been progressing nicely, picking up 6 TPE each week since joining the league. While he has left some TPE in the board, it’s always hard as a first generation player to be a max earner week in and week out, but of course we would be willing to help the youngster out with ideas for an easy 2 TPE VHL.com article, or point him in the right direction for the frustrating trivia questions each week. Regardless if he does become a max earner or not, we wish Shotzky all the best as he hopefully finds his place in the VHL community.
