Hello, VHL. Usually with my VHL.com articles I spend my time doing a quick little blab about random things throughout the league or something silly to get people talking.. HOWEVER.. this week we’re going to go the personal route and let the members in on some things going on in Bana’s life. As I’ve always tried to tell people, the world is different and at times difficult but there’s a lot of positivity left in it and things will only get better. Now, let’s dip into things... because they’re pretty damn big! Let’s start with the biggest???

    1. As a lot know, my girlfriend was diagnosed with a tumor in May, and did a biopsy in June and July (the first one they fucked up the sample). In august we learned she had diffuse large b-cell lymphoma which is an aggressive form of cancer of the blood etc. It was also a good sized tumor.. Pretty scary, difficult times... especially because she can’t get sick and we’re finding our way each day through a pandemic full of anti-mask wearers and angry people lol.. she lost her hair and chemo took a pretty strong hit to her... there was some very rough days for her especially as it went on (and me too, but she’s the one who has it).. but this is not about those bad days, sleepless/sick nights etc..

HOWEVER, oct 31 was their final planned chemo cycle (#4) and then we waited until December 9th for a PET scan etc to see how things are... and based off their findings...

SHES 100% clear.. just needs to check up every 3 months as it could come back etc.. woo hoo!

    2. I’ve quit smoking. Both things. Nah, not crack. Mariguana in September and I quit smoking cigarettes 31 days ago some time today.. I’ve done it once before with Champex (a pill everyday that makes smoking garbage) but this time was cold turkey and I haven’t struggled near as bad as last time.. I’m using money as my main thing but of course health too. Still grumpy days and moments and a few triggers and such for good cravings but I’ve battled through it all so far.

    3. It’s fitting that this is #3 because there’s 3 of them.. but we have 3 Xmas trees up this year. We normally have two. One in the living room area, one in our bedroom... but this year we expanded to the guest bed room.. just in time for more albertan Covid restrictions haha...

Keep doing good things VHL. Stay strong, stay smart and stay safe out there.. remember - it’s not just you going through it all. We’re all on this planet doing what we can to live the lives we want. 🤘🏻

Not putting this in a full fledged announcement because it's optional but still something I wanted to point out. In an attempt to be more inclusive to non-cisgendered members we have added a custom profile field for pronouns which you can find by editing your profile. It will appear under your profile photo next to all your posts so that it's nice and clear to everyone what pronouns they should be using with you. We have also changed the "gender" profile section to be more inclusive in regards to non-binary and gender fluid individuals.

I know this is a minor thing for most but it can mean a lot to those that aren't CIS so we're glad to be able to do it easily for them. As I've said, you aren't forced to use it so if you choose to please take it seriously. If you choose not to then you can completely ignore this and carry on with your day.

    3. Every single day! I like to know how all the teams are doing!
    4. I think the chemistry has been changing as the players earn more TPE, so it was only natural that we would need to find out how they play together best!
    5. MEX is on a hot streak. But I'm sure even they are beatable. It will take for them to make a mistake!
    6. I've really enjoyed the conversation with my team mates, even though I've been quite quiet!

Hoo doggie, what a year it's been! I wanted to take this time for a little update as far as what's been going on in my life! Retail life has been crazy, as I'm working 10 hour days every single day, and that makes it so I'm very tired! I'm trying to set up the Ottawa Lynx to be good next season, but given my time constraints, the amount of work in my personal life, and the fact that we have very few draft picks, it's been made very difficult. We have several players that look like they should be fantastic for next season despite the fact that we won't be able to take advantage of our first overall pick (my bad). But the goal is to build a powerhouse team next season, and that's started out early. To the Lynx that are sticking with me through this, thank you! You all are amazing! If you're a waiver player, you have a bright future and maybe I'll bring you back for next season!

I've been having a good time in Berocka's Howzat Cricket Sim League as well! He runs a good show and it's been very fun so far! Come join the Alice Springs Rabbits! We need more players! If anyone doesn't know yet, any point task from the VHL submitted this season counts for 9 TPE(which is basically max cap over there). Not exactly sure how the championship works, but we have a chance!

I'm incredibly satisfied with how Jolly Greene Giant has turned out so far. I'm looking forward to playing with the Toronto Legion organization and making a name for myself there. Philly has been a delight as well, and has, in many ways, been the best locker room that I've been a part of (excluding Seattle). There may be a little bit of a delay regarding the next Dok and Spyro's League News. The holidays are busy for everyone, and it's no exception to Spyro and myself. If you have any interest in being on the podcast, let me know and I can keep a running list of people who I need to have on as a guest! I'm sure we can go back to regular uploads sometime in the new year, but it's just a nightmare to try to schedule when you work 70 hours a week like I do!

Other than that, life is good! I still haven't had COVID, so I'm thankful every single day for my health. Still trying to figure out what to get people for Christmas, and I'm DESPERATELY hoping my girlfriend happened to secure a Capitals Reverse Retro jersey for Christmas. I got her a Roomba (something she hasn't stopped hinting about) so the ball is in her court now! I'm sorry for the apparent lack of participation in discord conversations or locker rooms. Trust me, I am there, I just don't always have time to join in! I hope everyone is well and staying safe and happy!

DoktorFunk reacted to fromtheinside in VSN Presents: VHLM Week 4 Power Rankings
We have officially hit the halfway point of the VHLM season, and the trade deadline is quickly approaching. While things are still mostly tight in the standings, we are finally starting to see a bit of separation between teams. The Reapers and the Kings continue to wreak havoc on their respective conferences, that much seems inevitable for the foreseeable future. But after them, teams like Saskatoon and San Diego have enjoyed really solid weeks and have gotten some separation from the rest of the field. Meanwhile, there are teams like Yukon and Halifax that are kind of struggling and are falling victim to mediocrity. Without further ado, let's jump into the power rankings and break down how all the clubs stack up.

    Last Week: 1  |  This Week: 1
Another week, and another solid performance by the Kings. Mexico City reclaims the top spot in the Power Rankings for a second straight week after posting a 7-2-1 record in their past 10 games. They are now 6 points ahead of Philly in the overall standings, all while playing in the tougher conference.  While the Reapers are no slouches, in my mind Mexico City is the bonafide top team in the league right now.  @kevinscixKevin Wu has been on absolute fire lately and has taken over top spot in defensemen scoring with 54 points (17G, 37A). Getting that kind of production from your blueline can be what makes an average team a great team, and Wu is doing just that. Meanwhile behind Wu, netminder @Xflexz Markus Emmerson Jr continues to build his case for the Benoit Devereux trophy for league's top goaltender.  Boasting a 31-5-4 record with a 2.31 GAA and a .910 save percentage, it will be hard to see anyone challenging Emerson for this award at this point. Definitely a nice personal achievement before ending his minor league career and going up to Vancouver next season, but I am sure he is more focused on capturing Mexico the Founder's Cup. And at the rate he and his teammates are going, it looks like a  real possibility.

    Last Week: 2  |  This Week: 2
Back for a second straight week at number 2, we have none other than the Philadelphia Reapers. Though they seem to be stuck in the 2 slot for the time being, don't be deceived.... Philadelphia is an absolute juggernaut, and unquestionably the kings of the Eastern Conference. Top to bottom the Reapers are a rock solid team, and despite that they still managed to get even better this past week. Earlier in the week, Philly sent a 1st and a 4th to Mississauga for near max-capped defensemen @McLovin Gustav Hjalmarsson.  The young Swede has exploded onto the scene for the Reapers, posting 11 points (4G, 11A) in only 6 games! Already having solid shutdown defensemen like @DoktorFunk Jolly Green Giant and @N0HBDY Bob Tristian, it made total sense for Philly management to go and find themselves a high scoring blueliner ahead of the trade deadline. Speaking of Philly management, it's also worth noting that the team made top line winger @dariusmarimotoman Darius Marimoto their Assistant General Manager! While his player will be off to Chicago next season, he will still be here overseeing his team. Congrats Bobo!

    Last Week: 4  |  This Week: 3
For the third straight week we have the Sasky Bois moving up in the Power Rankings. Largely thanks to a 9 game win streak this past week, the Wild have really put themselves into the upper echelon of the league. Now sporting a 29-11-4 record, they are in sole position of 3rd place overall in the league by a 6 point margin. The team continues to be led by third year elite goal scorer @dart Florent Vericel. Vericel has already broken the 70-point plateau this season with 74 points (30 G, 44A) which is good for second in the league. Also, with his herculean efforts his week, Vericel cemented his legacy in Saskatoon, becoming the all time leading goal scorer in franchise history. At his current pace, it's just a matter of time before he also takes the record for most points as well. Meanwhile on D, @Acydburn  has emerged as the clubs top blueliner bot in terms of points and TPE. Close behind him is teammate @yevty Silas McFriend who shockingly hasn't even come close to capping out his player this season. Once thought of as a first round draft hopeful, McFriend's welfare claiming has really stunted his player development. Maybe he should worry about himself burning out rather than the people who can constantly produce league content.   Overall, the Wild are really clicking on all cylinders and do seem to be a dangerous team with large playoff aspirations. Hopefully they can keep this momentum going all the way into the playoffs.

    Last Week: 3  |  This Week: 4
After swapping spots this week with Saskatoon, the Marlins find themselves down a spot at 4. This should be attributed more so to the Wild's hot streak rather than San Diego playing poorly. In fact, it's quite the opposite. Over the past 10 game span, the Marlins posted a very tidy 6-3-1 record, taking 13 of a possible 20 points. While its been alot of "Core 4" (Endrizzi, Red Lite, Kaberle, Prout) showing up on the scoresheet, this week saw nice contributions from other places as well. Recently acquired winger @Nepto Maksim Yakolevsky has found some good chemistry with 2nd line center @Nikdandrea34 Nikolas D'Andrea and it has really shown over the past week. The Marlins have been averaging about 4 goals a game in their past 10 so  it's nice to them getting solid offense night in and night out to accompany their great team defense. The team is full of players who have developed a ton already this season, and the Marlins are looking poised to contend come postseason time in a few weeks.

    Last Week: 5  |  This Week: 5
For the second consecutive week the Las Vegas Aces are locked into the 5 spot which is somewhat fitting as they went 5-5 in their past 10 games. Pocket 5's isn't the best, but it's a respectable record for Vegas who is in the uber-competitive Western Conference. That fact compared with the fact that they took a game off the Marauders is what gave them the edge this week over Miami. I feel like this probably could be where Las Vegas ends up for most of the remainder of Season 75. While the Aces don't smack you in the face with any overwhelming offensive power, they are just a very sound hockey club that should always be competitive. They are defensively competent and are a very well managed team. It's hard to say whether @JigglyGumballs AGM Jiggs and @Spartan GM Spartan will stay the course and roll the dice with their current players, or if they decide push all their chips into the center of the table and go all-in and acquire some help offensively to put themselves over the top. Does Spartan want to take the VHLM throne this season or will there be teardrops falling from his face after disappointing run in the playoffs. Time will tell.

    Last Week: 6   |  This Week: 6
Just like the Aces, Miami slots back into the same place they were last week, coming in at 6 for the second straight week. And although they didn't move up in the Power Rankings there is a ton of positives to take away here for Miami. First off, they went 7-1-2 in their last 10 games which is incredible in it's own right, but even more so when you point out that they took games off BOTH the Mexico City Kings AND the Philadelphia Reapers. The only thing that kept them at 6 was the fact that they finished up their week with a loss to the Aces. Though the Marauders stumbled for a week or so, it seems they have snapped their funk and are back to their winning ways. I think it's a safe bet to lock them into second place in the East for the end of the season. Come playoff time, should they match up - the Marauders could give the Reapers a run for their money, having beat them on multiple occasions now this season. It would sure be fun to watch @RedSus Cabe McJake go head to head with former teammate and linemate (and FUTURE TEAMMATE in Riga!!) @tcookie25 Addison McLaren. It would be a marquee matchup to be sure if it ever happened. Speaking of Mr McJake, the Irish phenom seems to have regained his scoring touch. Leading the team offensively over the past week, McJake has reclaimed a spot in the top 5 for league scoring with 62 points (34G-28A). Not far behind him is teammate @CosmicStorm Peter Louis II who is sitting two back of McJake at 60 (27G, 33A). Louis III, defensemen @chikn Chicken Wing and goaltender @thadthrasher Thadius Sales will all be looking to get their second consecutive Founder's Cup before the trio all graduate to the Big Apple next season with the New York Americans.

    Last Week: 7  |  This Week: 7
Coming in at 7, we have the Halifax 21st who call this spot home for the second week in a row. This is another case where I don't see alot of movement one way or the other for Halifax. I think they are clearly better than the bottom of the pack, and even Yukon at this point. But while that's great, I still don't consider them to be on the same level as a Las Vegas or Miami. All things considered, the 21st's season really depends on two things. One is if management decides they think they can make run, in which case they would need to add a couple pieces this week before the trade deadline. But more importantly, I think that Halifax only gets as fast as @Dolant Dolant Fertitta takes them. It sounds a little short-sided but all things considered, Fertitta is carrying that team super hard right now. He leads the league in points with 77 (40G, 33A). He is the first player to break the 40 goal plateau this season and is 6 ahead of the next closest scorer (McJake). It really depends on how Halifax management wants to play things. They could sell Fertitta as a rental and fetch a high price, or they can roll the dice and make some moves to see if they contend.  It'll be interesting as Halifax does have a few really great players, but in my personal opinion they are still a few players short to truly contend with the big hitters in the M this season. I will say that I'm surprised at how competitive Halifax has been this season. It's been a very nice bounce-back season for them this year.

    Last Week: 8  |  This Week: 8
It's been another week of mediocre results for the Rush. Coming in 8 again this week, mediocrity has kind have been the theme for Yukon this season. It seems like the club is constantly taking one step forward and then two steps back this season. While beating teams like Miami and Las Vegas were positive, they also dropped contests to Houston and even Minnesota. The club took a really big hit to their hopes of contending this week when top pair defenseman @greywolf139 Derek Redmarsh decided to up and retire his player mid-season,  leaving the Rush high and dry on an already thin blueline. Rush management were obviously disappointed with this news, as they just felt they were shoring up their defensive deficiencies with the waiver pickups they've made over the past few weeks, But with disappointment comes opportunity as  top VHLM @Juice Kristof Welch will get top pair minutes on defense for the remainder of the season with wily veteran @GoliathusTee Pee E II. Under E's tutelage, Welch is going to get a real opportunity to show what he is capable of to all the VHLM scouts who are licking their chops at the thoughts of potentially scooping him up in the S76 VHLM Dispersal Draft. With the trade deadline looming, it seems as though Yukon will be sellers. Perhaps teams missing a piece of two could come knocking and a deal could be made?

    Last Week: 9  |  This Week: 9
Well the while table has officially been thrown in Houston, and it's a shame because they had a young hungry team that was chalk full of potential. Unfortunately, like the Rush, Houston also had an abrupt retirement happen to them this week when their top line center @Retuperkele Luukas Lilja decided to call it quits. This one really came out of left field as Lilja was actually a pretty solid TPE earner and was reportedly fairly active in the Bulls locker room. This really dampened any chance the Bulls had at sneaking into a playoff spot this season and contending. With exception of @domg5 Dominic Gobeil who will be graduating to the VHL next season, most of the club will be back next season and I predict the Bulls to do some serious damage come puck drop next year.

    Last Week: 10  |  This Week: 10
Now we are moving into the teams that are in full rebuild mode and for the most part their rankings can be interchangeable.  The Hounds have confirmed as much after a pair of trades this season saw them net 3 picks for the S76 draft and 1 for the S77 draft.  The prospect watch continues though as @Sljppers Erin Esurance and @Jolline Eeli Rantanen continue to put up huge rookie numbers with 47 and 45 points respectively. It's great to see these young players seizing their opportunities and really putting themselves on display for the whole league to see. I can't wait to see where they end up next season! Who knows, with the way Mississauga is accruing draft picks, one or both could end up back with the Hounds for their sophomore stint.

    Last Week: 11  |  This Week: 11
More of the same this week for the Storm. But I can't say much as they somehow managed to salvage a win against my Yukon Rush squad. After looking through their team's roster activity there still isn't alot to get excited about but there are at least a couple bright spots. @Max12 Maksym Jankowski has been developing nicely and should prove to be  a useful player next season for the Storm. Also in net, @Hello Hi Hello continues to earn at a steady pace. Look for him to be Minnesota's keeper again next season.

    Last Week: 12  |  This Week: 12
Ladies and gentlemen, another week in the books, and one more win for the Ottawa Lynx! This one came versus their basement dwelling rivals, the Minnesota Storm, in a convincing 7-2 THRASHING!  In that fantastic win, Lynx star prospect @IHateBobNutting Phillip Stein erupted for a 2 goal, 2 assist performance. Games like this are going to do a ton for Stein's drafts stock in the VHLM Disperal Draft. If him and his fellow rookie teammates keep grinding and getting better, the sky will be the limit. Like the dynamic rookie duo in Mississauga, these players in Ottawa have a golden opportunity to get top tier ice time and show people what they can do this season.

Well that concludes Week 4 of the VHLM Power Rankings. We are just under a week away from the trade deadline and it really should be interesting to see if any teams try to make a splash. Philadelphia beat other teams to the market by making an early splash and getting themselves a max TPE defenseman. Will other teams follow suit to keep up or will they trust in the players they have and stay the course without giving up any additional assets? Are teams like Miami or Saskatoon going to stay hot and dethrone their respective conference leaders? We will have to see, it'll take quite a bit of doing, but it isn't impossible! Until next week, thanks for reading!

Answer ANY 6 for 2 TPE!
    1) The hottest topic that’s been common throughout the VHL community, everyone talking “Who is going to be taking home the Founders Cup”. Lots of LRs in the Pros say the Reapers other say theres NO WAY, what would you say to the doubters?

    2) The Reapers have decided to hand out a team MVP, that will be passed on by each user in the LR after the daily sims, what should the team use as “MVP Trophy”? a Cape ? a bloody Scythe ? a Wrestling Belt ? Give us ideas ?
3)How often do you check the VHLM Standings?

    4) The Reapers went on a impressive 11 game winning streak including a win putting up a 10 piece, what has caused the recent surge in success on ice ?

    5) This weeks power ranking had the Mexico jumping above us for the #1 spot after their 5-3 win last week along there 9 game winning streak. What is it going to take to beat MEX and prove we can consistently?

    6) Its pretty much mid way through the season, most of you will be in Philly for another season , while other graduate, the majority will be returning reapers ❤️ tell us your favorite part of living in Philadelphia?

    7) The reapers are 2nd in league PP% and PK% by just a hair and pretty much tied with 1st. What are the reapers doing differently this season to keep these numbers so high?

8 ) In 29 game this season we’ve scored 140 goals already! With 9 players nearing a point per game what has been the secret to the reapers onslaught and balanced scoring throughout the whole roster.

Another week of sims has come and passed and the ever-changing landscape of the VHLM continues to take shape. This week the battle for M supremacy heated up even more as Mexico City and Philly both continued winning at torrid paces. We also saw Halifax regain some of their S74 form as they had themselves a solid week, while over in the Western Conference, Yukon experienced some struggles and now find themselves clinging on to the last playoff spot. It was another eventful week of sims, so without further ado, let's start breaking it down!

    Last Week: 2  |  This Week: 1
Almost half the season in the books and finally there is heir to the Power Rankings throne! The Kings are truly amongst VHLM royalty this season, currently boasting a pristine 23-4-3 record which is good for first in the entire league, edging out the Reapers by a mere 2 points. This two point discrepancy is not the reason I put them over Philly though. These teams are awfully close in mostly every aspect you can think of, but the reason I gave Mexico the edge this week is because they actually beat Philly head-to-head this week by a score of 5-3. I would even go as far to say that the Kings and the Reapers are 1A and 1B but for the sake of fairness crowning a clear winner, I gave it to Mexico this week.  Offensively @jhatty8RJ Thatcher and @youloser1337Justin Lose are the teams one-two punch providing 17 and 16 goals respectively. The team continues to get solid offensive support from their second line also, and longtime VHLM journeyman defenseman @LefLopKing Kruul sits amidst the top 5 d-man scoring. With 7 of their players sitting at the 200+ TPE mark (and another 3 knocking on the door), the Kings are poised to make a solid run for the Founders Cup this season. They are unquestionably the best team in the Eastern Conference and this week, they are #1 on our list!

    Last Week: 1 |  This Week: 2
For the first time all season, the Reapers find themselves looking up in the Power Rankings! Like I mentioned while recapping the Kings, this could easily be flip-flopped as both these top 2 teams are total powerhouses in their own right. While I may go as far to say the Kings are a more complete team overall, the Reapers are right there with them and I think they pack more of a punch with their top end talent also.  The top line for Philly continues to reap offensive benefits as the top line of McLaren, Bouchard and Marimoto are ALL in the top 5 for scoring right now. At this point, there seems to be no stopping that line. What's even crazier is some of the supporting cast that's been developing in Philly this season also! @EynhallowIsau DaMoose has been a top TPE earner the past few weeks and it's starting to show! DaMoose just surpassed his point total last season with his 28th point of the year. Last year it took him 52 games to get 27 points, so you can see the progress this player has made. Also many people may overlook @CrazyCaityCatCaitlyn Catowize since the numbers aren't jumping off the page at you. This prospect is playing a depth role because she's on a LOADED Philly squad, but make no mistake, this will be a player to watch heading into the VHL Entry Draft and VHLM Dispersal Draft next season! And rounding things out is the rock-steady @Greg_DiTom Eagles.  This S76 recreate is developing at a rapid pace and it proving to be the D-man Philly needed him to be this season.

    Last Week: 6 | This Week: 3
The biggest jump up in the Power Rankings this week belongs to the San Diego Marlins. The Marlins enjoyed a red-hot week of sims and have went 7-2-1 in their last 10 games, including a victory over the powerhouse Philadelphia Reapers.  While @ProutCowboy Prout and @fromtheinsideScotty Kaberle continue to go 1-2 in defensemen scoring leaguewide, @Jonessee27Nero Endrizzi and @TateRed Lite have carried the core of forwards on the team with 38 and 40 points a piece. GM @InstantRockstar identified the teams lack of scoring depth yesterday and went out and acquired @Nepto Maksim Yakolevsky from Ottawa. This marks the second consecutive week Maksim has been traded but this could prove to be a massive addition for the Marlins. San Diego fans are hoping that by bringing in Yakolevsky, the team can finally spark some offense on their second line. Getting some production from their offensive depth could really put the Marlins over the edge and maybe even push them in "contender" status. The have elite scoring. They have a defensive core that is second to none, and goalie @MSO94 Michael Olson has started to show some signs of improvement after a slow start to his season, posting 2 shutouts in the past 7 days.

    Last Week: 5 | This Week: 4
Moving up for the second consecutive week is the Saskatoon Wild. Going 5-4-1 in their past 10, the Wild are starting to find their form. Florent Vericel and Steve Eso continue to lead the way up front but @coochimanVivek Weiner and @dshervill"Big Daddy" Braxton Hunter  continue you to develop nicely in their sophomore seasons. Meanwhile back on D, to nobodies surprise,  rookie prospect @Acydburn Battre Sandstrom has really started to make his mark on the club. He has been the Wild's better D-man thus far, leading in points as well as plus/minus. Among the returning blue-liners @yevtySilas LaFriend seems to have regained some of that rookie desire he had from last season, posting 31 TPE over the past two weeks and eclipsing the 200 TPE milestone. On the flipside though,  @GeckoeyGeckoGabriel Johnson has in my eyes been a disappointment this season. Last season Johnson was the cornerstone of the Wild's blueline and yours truly was lucky enough to play alongside him in my rookie season. Johnson was the player I strived to be like. He was in a prime position to cap his player in Season 75 and completely dominate all year.  While he has 23 points which is not at all bad, he could have been that piece to put the Wild over the top this season. If he took some time away from Summoner's Rift and hit the gym for some training, he could still be a huge player wherever he plays. Luckily, the Wild are getting lots of contributions elsewhere to make up for it. In net, @DragonFire420 continues to improve weekly.

    Last Week: 4 | This Week: 5
Another week, another spot lower in the rankings for @SpartanSpraytan and his Las Vegas Aces. The past week has not been great for the Aces. The club managed to go 5-5 in their past 10, with one of their losses coming at the hands of the lowly Ottawa Lynx (yikes). On top of the humiliating loss, they ALMOST lost a second contest to Ottawa, and they also dropped a contest to the Mississauga Hounds. Of their past 10 games, 6 games were against bottom tier teams in the league, so going 5-5 is really not much of an accomplishment. Despite all this, I still do believe Las Vegas is one of the better teams in our league. As mentioned in previous weeks of the Power Rankings, the top 4 defensemen for the Aces is unrivaled in the VHLM. Offensively @SimmerDown99Connor Sim has emerged as Vegas' trump card this year. Having just passed the 200 TPE mark, Sim has led the way with 19 goals for the Aces. Vegas is really going to need him to keep up his breakout season if they want to remain in the mix for the Founders Cup. Perhaps the Aces management will be looking to acquire a forward before the deadline to help bolster their offense?  Despite only putting up 18 points, sophomore @NordinKelly Power has also developed nicely this season as a dependable girinder type forward. Along with his 18 points, Power has amassed an amazing 111 hits already this year, along with 44 PIMS. Opponents know they can expect a rough night at the office when they roll into Vegas for a game against the Aces.

    Last Week: 3 | This Week: 6
Our biggest fall in the Power Rankings this week goes to the reigning, defending champions- the Miami Marauders. First off, I will take part of the blame for Miami's plummet to the 6 spot. I put them at 3 last week, and maybe that was an oversight on my behalf. But regardless of whether I had them at 3 or 4 last week,  they have certainly experiences a little bit of struggle over the past week.  While they did go 6-4 in their previous 10 games, many of those games were against weaker Eastern Conference opponents. The offensive has been sporadic as of late for Miami. Six of their last 10 games, the Marauders have only mustered 3 or less goals. And while they did post a couple of 7-spots in that 10 game stretch, it does seem as though Miami has hit a bit of a speedbump on their road to a title defense.  After coming out of the gate absolutely white-hot, the tandem of @RedSusCabe McJake and @Jayrad28Ryan Ryker have really slowed down as of late. Ryker especially comes as a surprised. As a forward I had pegged to have a monster year, the young right-winger has dipped below the point per game mark and it's also worth noting he just claimed welfare for the first week of December. At one point Ryker had been a top earner so I was surpised he claimed welfare, especially since he is so close to being capped out for the season. Another thing that Miami might be lacking is some real depth at the center position. This is no surprise as many teams in the M this season are short on good centremen.  The Marauders also could use some depth on defense as the TPE dips off pretty hard after @chiknChicken Wing and @Martin BradacMartin Master (both of whom are having decent campaigns). But if there is one thing that I- and the rest of the VHLM community knows- it's not to ever count out @Ricer13GM Ricer and his team. There's still plenty of time left to rectify some of their issues and all things considered, they are still a very formidable opponent. They also have the advantage of playing in the East, so they should be lock for a playoff spot.

Last Week: 8 This Week: 7
Up one spot this week to number 7 is the Halifax 21st, ran by noted uprising-thwarter @Dil. Despite the man's hate for AGM's everywhere, he does a pretty good job of fielding a competitive club in the VHLM. As the saying goes, you're only as good as your best player, and that is especially true for this club.  @DolantDolant Ferititta continues his dominance of the minor leagues with 49 points in 30 games, which is just one off the pace for tops in the league (currently held by @tcookie25 Addison McLaren).  While the 21st have some decent support pieces,  I feel the Boatgang is in the same boat as the Marauders. Not alot of talent up the middle. Though their top man in between the dots is @StamkosFanEmpty with a respectable 180 TPE, he isn't putting much effort into developing his player, and after him there isn't much too speak of on the depth chart unfortunately. I guess the real question is will Dil be a buyer or seller at the trade deadline. Does he try to play the Miami role and maybe sneak into the playoffs as a low seed and make a run? If so he will need to add a piece or two at the deadline. On the flipside, Fertitta could fetch a high price as a rental player for a contender and Halifax could stand to replenish the cupboards a bit and refocus on next season. It should be interesting to see which way Halifax goes, because at this point it literally could go either way. Only time will tell.

    Last Week: 7 | This Week: 8

In a week that saw the Rush go 5-5, they fall yet another spot to 8. Their 5-5 stint is sort of a microcosm of their season thus far. A team that has potential to do well, yet is mired in mediocrity. When you really boil it down, Yukon is one of a few teams who are victim to the uber-competitive Western Conference. Even last place Houston is on a three game win streak and there are literally no easy games within those 6 teams. While it is great for parody in the league, Yukon execs are pulling their hair out trying to figure out how to come out ahead in this juggernaut conference. Both player acquired via trade this season have yielded positive results for Yukon. @Jake Sumner has potted 17 goals and 30 points, meanwhile just a week into his Yukon stint, center @TenZiKevin Sterk has posted 17 points (5G, 12A) in just 13 games. Meanwhile team captain @GreenGatoVick Fairchild continues to show why he wears the "C" as not only does he lead the team with 35 points (11G, 24A) but he also has been a max earner every week since joining the Rush. Meanwhile back on the blueline, @GoliathusTee Pee E II continues to lead the team as their top defenseman, however, young rookie prospect Kristof Welch has came onto the VHLM scene like a bat out of hell, already at 129TPE in his first few weeks in the league.  While only putting up 7 points in 20 games, don't be deceived, by my estimation this blue-chip rookie is going to have an incredible career and is already the talk of the S75 drafts. On the last line of defense, goaltender @Kloxified continues to develop in preparation for his callup to Chicago next season. He is having a stellar season and the Rush will need him at his best if they plan on doing anything in the playoffs this season.

    Last Week: 10 | This Week: 9
We've made it all the way to number 9, and Houston is the first team to hold at their original position from last week. That just goes to show how close things are this season with so many teams jockeying for position amongst the standings, and Houston really is not an exception to that either.  Although they didn't get out of the 9 hole this week, Houston rides a 3 game winning streak going into the end of the week, with the last of those 3 wins coming against the #1 ranked Mexico City Kings. They also just barely were edged out by the Kings at the start of the week. This is yet another example of just how tight things are this year. Left winger @domg5 Dominic Gobeil continues to impress in his second year campaign, tallying 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points, which leads all Bulls players. Fellow winger @WebberjJon Webber is also having himself a solid season. Perhaps he should share some of his secret training tips to brother @WebberPPaul, as John is 11 points ahead in the Battle of Brothers Webb.  There is still plenty of time for this Houston team to keep developing. This team is almost exclusively made up of sophomores, so it's essential that the Bulls' players are working hard to earn as much as they can. If the whole team commits, its very possible for Houston to secure themselves a spot in the playoffs this season. And even looking forward, it seems like many of the players will be eligible to come back next season. Perhaps the Bulls are looking towards season 76 to be a dominant team, in which case one could speculate if Gobeil is moved before the deadline as he will mostly be going pro next season. Regardless, Houston is definitely an interesting team worth keeping tabs on.

    Last Week: 11 | This Week: 10
Flip-flopping with the Storm this week and coming in at number 10 is the Mississauga Hounds. Sadly, 10th is the highest I think the Hounds will end up being on this list the rest of the way.  Having posted an 11-17-1 record thus far, it's clear that the focus for the Hounds needs to be on the future. That being said, there are a pair of draft eligible wingers on this team that are most definitely worth keeping an eye on.  Finnish left winger@JollineEeli Rantanen has come strong out of the gate having already accumulated 125 TPE in just over 2 weeks! Seemingly inspired by Finnish countryman the Finnish Flash,  Rantanen has focused mainly on speed and scoring so far in their development. It's definitely paying dividends as Eeli has 38 points in just 29 games. Not to be outdone, teammate @SljppersErin Esurance has also come into the VHLM guns ablazing, earning 127 TPE in roughly the same timeframe as their teammate. Double E has opted for a more balanced build but has still has produced at more than a point-per-game pace (15G, 14A in 27 games).  Esurance has also jumped to the top of the TPE leaderboard this week in the early going, already posting a very impressive 35 TPE. These two are prime candidates to be high first round picks come draft time in the offseason.  While the S76 draft class may not be as robust as last season, there is surely no shortage in quality players to choose from, that's unquestionable.  Hopefully these two left-wingers keep doing what they're doing! Great job guys! As for the Hounds, look for them to potentially be sellers before the trade deadline and recoup some assets heading into the draft.

    Last Week: 10 | This Week: 11
Swapping places with the Hounds this week, Minnesota comes in at 11. While the season started on a somewhat high-note for the Storm, they have since went off the rails and seemingly are at the point of no return.  While they have done a decent job at signing some rookies off waivers, none of them have been notable earners like the aforementioned rookies on Mississauga. Are the Storm unlucky or perhaps there needs to be better leadership amongst the team to help get the young guys going. I'm not in the locker room, so it's hard for me to say. Of all the players on the roster, last week none of them did a 6 point media task and only 4 of them amassed 10 TPE or more. Not being a competitive team might happen from time to time, but it's truly unfortunate when a whole roster of players IN THE MINORS (where it's the best time to develop) are hardly doing the bare minimum.  Do better Minnesota.

    Last Week: 12 | This Week: 12
Well, Ottawa won another game, so that's good right? We all know this season is a write-off, but unlike the Storm, there are a few positives this week for the Lynx. Aside from beating the Hounds 4-3 over the weekend, they also got another point against a strong Las Vegas team, just barely losing in a shootout. Ottawa slowly is building their roster up also, this week signing another defenseman, which brings them to a total of 2! All kidding aside, I am excited about a recent waiver pickup Ottawa made. Left winger @IHateBobNuttingPhillip Stein has been in the league for less than 2 weeks, but he will surely be cracking triple digits TPE this week, which in turn will allow him to gain his First Gen Bonus. Getting over 110 TPE in under 3 weeks is great progress. He has contributed some quality content and is on pace to be a high end pick in next season's draft. Keep up the great work Phil.

Another week of Power Rankings in the books. This week saw a whole lot of movement and turbulence in the rankings. As we've said numerous times over the past few weeks, this season is insanely close and it really is anybody's ball game this year. I'd consider Mexico City and Philadelphia the clear-cut top two, but after that, spots 3-10 are wide open for the taking. We are closing in on the half way point in the season and there are definitely more questions than answers. I imagine come trade deadline we could see some movement from teams trying to get themselves over the hump and legitimize their championship chances. Until next week, keep earning that TPE and keep improving! Cheers!

I owe a huge apology to @MexicanCow123, @fromtheinside, and the entire Yukon Rush locker room. Last week I completely forgot to include their team in my report. I won't make any excuses for that and I sincerely apologize!

Week 2 in the VHLM S75 has come to an end and there were certainly some exciting changes. We saw trades happen between Yukon and Ottawa early in the week, and then last night at the end of the week between San Diego and Ottawa. Many teams across the league signed waiver players, hoping to add to their chances for the Founder's Cup!

League standings have fluctuated greatly over this last week, and the only team that saw absolutely no move was Ottawa.

Just like last week, each team will have an Offensive Star, Defensive Star, and some awards. This is based on weekly performance, not current team or league leaders.

Some of you suggested that I switch up the awards, however I'm going to stick with the awards from last week for each team. HOWEVER, if you think of an award that a player deserves to get make sure you tag them in the comments with what that award is. Don't forget to include why they get it!
*Teams are presented in order of League Overall Standing

    Mexico City Kings (22-3-3)
    GM - @Hylands AGM - @rory
Offensive Star - While not necessarily scoring the most points for his team this week, this player brought in 26 points over 17 GP. Setting up his team with 16 assists, this week's Offensive Star is Magnus Verlander @Jbeezy76!

Defensive Star - Mexico City's defensive was incredible this week, blocking 108 shots together (this isn't including their offense who blocked shots either). However, one player stands out. Much like last week, this player continues to block shots, lay out some massive hits, and be the teams leading points earner for defensemen. This week the Defensive Star is King Kruul @LefLop!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Hulk Hogan Jr @Beaviss with 29 SB. Hey, brother!
Rule Breaker Award - King Kruul @LefLop with 22 PIM

    Philadelphia Reapers (22-4-1)
    GM - @DMaximus AGM - @Spence King
Offensive Star - This player certainly made their presence known on the ice! Bringing in 30 points and delivering 66 hits, this week's Offensive Star is Addison McLaren @tcookie25!

    San Diego Marlins (18-8-1)
    GM - @InstantRockstar AGM - @IamMOOSE
Offensive Star - This was a tough decision to make. Two players stand out the most with 23 points each. However, only one of them delivered more hits and took on more penalties, and that would be Nero Endrizzi @Jonessee27!

Defensive Star - This defender once again finds themselves being the Defensive Star for San Diego. With 22 points, 42 hits, and 39 SB we HAVE to give this to Cowboy Prout @Prout!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Cowboy Prout @Prout with 39 SB
Rule Breaker Award - We have a tie between Cowboy Prout @Prout and Phil The Rock Johnson @Phil both with 24 PIM
Snow Plow Award - Cowboy Prout @Prout with 42 hits (Jon Strider @Strider just missed it with 41 hits)

    Saskatoon Wild (16-8-3)
    GM - @Doomsday AGM - @a_Ferk
Offensive Star - With the team's highest +/- for the week at 10, scoring 24 points on 19 assists, and holding one of the lowest PIMs of 2 this week, we have to go with Vivek Weiner @coochiman

Defensive Star - Two defenders stuck out this week in Saskatoon. Both brought in about the same number of points and have a very similar +/-. While Gabriel Johnson @GeckoeyGecko blocked an insane 27 shots blocked, Battre Sandstrom @Acydburn  was busy laying down 29 hits. With that in mind, one player was able to score 2 GW goals for the Wild while also keeping a relatively low PIM of 22. Congratulations to Battre Sandstrom @Acydburn

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Gabriel Johnson @GeckoeyGecko with 27 SB
Rule Breaker Award - Logan Moore @drewowo with 37 PIM
Snow Plow Award - Braxton Hunter @dshervill with 71 hits

    Las Vegas Aces (15-9-3)
    GM -  @Spartan AGM - @JigglyGumballs
Offensive Star - There is one clear winner here for the Las Vegas Aces' Offensive Star of the week! Racking in 19 points, with only 4 PIM and a whopping 21 hits, we have to go with Angel Wachiure @inflastud!

Defensive Star - Coming in second place as far as points go, with 16 earned, this defender kept a cool head with 12 PIM and even made sure to block 18 shots! Congratulations to Chase Crosby @Wreckening!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Matt Thunder @Matt thunder with 24 SB
Rule Breaker Award - We have a tie between Joakim Lund @Bouncyelf and Kelly Power @Nordin both with 26 PIM

    Miami Marauders (15-12-0)
    GM - @Ricer13 AGM - @Zetterberg
Offensive Star - While many may have expected last week's Offensive Star, Cabe McJake @RedSus to keep his title this week, we have a change! This player brought in 20 points, kept a fairly low number of PIM at 12 and even delivered 22 hits. Congratulations to Nathan Perry @tinafrombobsburgers!

Defensive Star - This defender did not score the most points as far as defenders go for Miami. However, they have the second highest number of points for a defender at 10, 31 hits and even blocking 16 shots! Congratulations to Martin Master @Martin Bradac!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - We have a tie between Chicken Wing @chikn and Franz Ferdinand @-_____- both with 20 SB
Rule Breaker Award - Wayne Rooney @Ingusk3 with 30 PIM
Snow Plow Award - Ryan Ryker @Jayrad28 with 46 hits

    Halifax 21st (13-13-2)
    GM - @Dil AGM - @Riley_Couture
Offensive Star - Again, this player shows Halifax that they are a points earner. Bringing in 28 points and having the team's highest +/- of 12, this week's Offensive Star is Dolant Fertitta @Dolant!

Defensive Star - It was a tough decision this week as far as a Defensive Star goes. Two defenders stood out with almost the same number of points and hits. However, one of these players was able to earn 17 points, have a +/- of 6, deliver 29 hits and block 23 shots. This week we select Rick Osman @dylanjj37!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Clinton Giftopoulos @Thranduil with 30 SB
Rule Breaker Award - Javad Kamkar @Parriyah9374 with 30 PIM
Snow Plow Award - Ramarod Ramirez @Ominous with 42 hits

    Yukon Rush (11-12-4)
    GM - @MexicanCow123 AGM - @fromtheinside
Offensive Star - The offensive player we decided to go with this week was able to not only lead the team in points with 20, but they also delivered an impressive 35 hits and even blocked 9 shots. While it was a close call, we decided to go with Vick Fairchild @GreenGato!

Defensive Star - One defender in Yukon has shown they have a great 200-foot game! This player delivered 13 assists, scored 3 goals, and made sure to block a whopping 29 shots! We've selected Tee Pee E II @Goliathus as Yukon's Defensive Star of the week!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Tee Pee E II @Goliathus with 29 SB
Rule Breaker Award - Vick Fairchild @GreenGato with 20 PIM
Snow Plow Award - We have a tie between Michael Schmidt @Kmatt and Vick Fairchild @GreenGato with 35 hits

    Houston Bulls (11-17-0)
    GM - @rjfryman AGM - @MattyIce
Offensive Star - There is only one player in Houston who deserves this week's honor of being their team's Offensive Star. With 24 points and 40 hits this week, we have decided to give this honor to Dominic Gobeil @domg5!

Defensive Star - This week's Defensive Star for Houston not only served up 7 assists, but they have the best +/- for the team at 6 and they blocked 25 shots in total! Congratulations to Not A Player @Nope488 for retaining the title!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Usilov Valentinovich @Usilov Valentinovich with 34 SB
Rule Breaker Award - Zachary Sirois @Zach386 with 36 PIM
Snow Plow Award - Jared Carter @jaredc7 with 58 hits

    Mississauga Hounds (10-16-1)
    GM - @ColeMrtz AGM - @Bacon
Offensive Star - This player is the only one to have goals in the double digits, scoring 11 this week. They also lead the Hounds with 18 points and have 1 of 2 of the GW goals. Congratulations to this week's Offensive Star in Mississauga, Eeli Rantanen @Jolline!

Defensive Star - As far as defenders go, only 1 shines bright! This defender leads the team with 12 assists, has the team's lowest PIM of 4 and even blocked 17 shots. It's clear that the Defensive Star for the Hounds is Gustav Hjalmarsson @McLovin!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Feenixx Rising @FeenixxRIsing with 34 SB
Rule Breaker Award - Erin Esurance @Sljppers with 23 PIM
Snow Plow Award - We have a tie between Dan Dan @MMFLEX and The Blob @JorgTheGoat03 both with 49 hits

    Minnesota Storm (8-17-1)
    GM - @Rayzor_7 AGM - @Mr_Hatter
Offensive Star - Leading Minnesota with 19 points and the most assists at 12, Minnesota has one player who continues to push for offensive movement in their games, and that is why this week's Offensive Star is once again Joseph Sharkton @TheOGShark!

Defensive Star - While there doesn't seem to be much defense going on in Minnesota, one player seems to be attempting to propel the Storm forward. Not only did they block 44 shots, but they also have 15 points this week with 10 assists. Congratulations, once again, to Ron World Peace III @stevo!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Art Yemis @SofaKing with 48 SB
Rule Breaker Award - Markuss Puhovs @VOID Stiles with 28 PIM
Snow Plow Award - Art Yemis @SofaKing with 41 hits

    Ottawa Lynx (2-24-1)
    GM - @DoktorFunk AGM - @DarkSpyro
Offensive Star - This player was traded into Ottawa at the beginning of the week, made their presence known, and then was traded away to San Diego. In that week this player scored 13 goals and delivered 10 assists. This player demonstrated a desire to help Ottawa move forward. Congratulations to Makism Yakolevsky @Nepto and good luck in San Diego!

Defensive Star - It's hard to tell if Ottawa is taking the old saying of "the best defense is a good offense" too literally. Whatever it is, it isn't working. However, one player continues to strive for success, despite their team's current standing. Mustering up 8 points, delivering 25 hits, and attempting to help his poor goalie by blocking 30 shots, the Defensive Star in Ottawa is Chester McCork @mcjosd. Congratulations!

Wanna Be Goalie Award - Chester McCork @mcjosd with 30 SB
Rule Breaker Award - We have a tie between Ishmael iqbal @mcsquishy (currently released) and Rei Guy @Reeeee with 16 PIM
Snow Plow Award - Philip Stein @IHateBobNutting with 29 hits

    Goalies
Instead of providing awards to each team's goalies, since there are normally only two options per team, we are going to highlight one goalie per week who holds the best SV% for the week (must play a majority of the team's games). The goalie with the highest SV% for the week will be awarded the Brick Wall Award.
*we were evaluating GAA/week but the amount of time it would take to figure that out is way too high

Brick Wall Award - This goalie not only captured 1 SO this week, but they also continue to come in clutch for their team! With a .912 SV% for the week, we have to give this week's Brick Wall Award to the Philadelphia Reaper's starting goaltender, Jacob Carson @jacobcarson877!

    League Overall
Only leading Philadelphia by two points so far, the Mexico City Kings took the lead this week with 42 points. Winning 9 games in a row, the eyes of the world are now on Mexico City. Will they be able to hold their #1 position? It's still too early to tell.

Last week we wondered if Ottawa would be able to get something other than "0" in their win column, and they did! Now, with 2 wins, Ottawa leads the league in most losses and goals against! Morale continues to be low in Ottawa, but there has certainly been a lot of movement with trades and releases. It's clear that this season is one of rebranding and growth for Ottawa. We are left wondering, what's next for the Lynx?
