  1. Not sure I agree. Fong had a fair question to ask in public and he did. Did it come across strong? Yes however he's entitled to ask that question anyways. AJ, you made a mistake and honestly that's huge of you to admit to your mistake. As far as I'm concerned, this is a fair punishment and I hope all is forgiven in here. Now kill it in Houston!
  2. 1. I am doing fantastic! And you? 2. I think we can. We got it within us. 3. I honestly don't know. Maybe a better goalie 4. I haven't no. I'm pretty close. I just want a .920 save percentage. I'm close. In my dreams. 5. Vancouver baby. 6. Don't really care tbh.
  3. 1. Very up and down. Need to find consistency. 2. My glove hand, specifically. 3. So far been up and down. However, I've had some personal things happen recently so I'll be back to full force soon. 4. Probably Olivier Gauthier cause uh...... Ya. I need it. 5. I love to have spaghetti and meatballs the day before. For carbs. 6. Ummmm no. I've been at a funeral actually lol. Not close close family but pretty close in terms of relations but I don't speak to them often.
  4. Hello everyone! It's me, Olivier Gauthier, the goaltender for the San Diego Marlins. I wanted to take a moment to talk about our team and how friggin hot we've been to start the season. We've been 6-0 and this defence has been rock solid infront of me. Now I know what most of you are going to say... "Olivier, it's early in the season..." or "Theres a long way to go". Yeah, I know. However, I genuinely believe that this strong start is going to be key for a positive season. I've noticed that it's given the team some confidence and a lot of the players have a skip in their step. My teammates also have an extra edge in practice as well. It feels like everyone is taking this season seriously. Now as you know, me being a goalie means I have one of the more important jobs on the ice... Keep the puck outta the net boy... And thats what I do thanks to my teammates as well. I've been working extra hard to stay sharp and be prepared in every single game. So far, it's paid off and I'm happy about that. However, we know it's a long season and the hard work has to continue paying off. It's been a pleasure playing in this team though as they have helped me get the strongest GAA and save percentage in the league. As I mentioned previously, the whole team has been playing their hearts out. Some of the players on this team are so talented, I can't wait to see them get to the VHL and become a class apart. The main reason I say that is that we have some strong leaders in this room and everyone has had a part in supporting each other. I've never been on a team with this much chemistry. It helps that off the ice, we've been getting to know each other as well and with the coaching staff. I even learned that we're supposed to pray to some dude named Simon? Who the hell is Simon? Anyways that slightly sidetracked me... Well massively sidetracked me... The Marlins organization has been nothing but first class at honing this group together. Theres a long season to go and a lot of practice and hard work still needing to be done. However, I think if we can continue working the way we've been working and playing the way we've played... We can accomplish some scary stuff. It's going to be a fun season and I can't wait to see the outcome. In the end, I'm just happy that San Diego gave me a shot. I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and I hope you'll cheer us on. Lets keep this going and keep the streak on everyone! We really need the fans to step up and show the opposing team that it will be hard to play us at home and only you can do that for us. Lets go Marlins!
  5. Preseason is one of the most challenging times for a professional hockey player like myself. As a new San Diego Marlin, it's been.... Interesting to say the least. California weather is extremely different compared to what I am used to back in Quebec and just the adjustment to that type of heat has been new for me. The team has done a fantastic job keeping us hydrated and healthy through this weather. Regardless of this weather, it's definitely different to be practicing in beautiful weather like this. Being a goalie is different compared to the rest of the players. It's extremely important for me to build a strong relationship with the skaters just so I can understand what makes their minds tick and what their habits are like. This team has a lot of talented players on it and I am excited to have been drafted into such a fantastic environment. Preseason generally consists of some team building which could also include some hazing. The team got me a few times during training. I think once I had sat on a chair filled with whipped cream and a whoopy cushion. Ironically, some of these pranks have really brought us together as a group. Preseason has been a challenge however extremely valuable for me. I'm looking forward for this coming season, including the opportunity to play with my new teammates. I am confident that all the hard work we put in this offseason will pay off come the season and I am excited to see what we can accomplish as a group together.
  6. 1. I think he did a job. We will know if it's good in 2 weeks time. 2. Stand on my head every single night baby. 3. @Acydburnbecause he's got chizzled abs. 4. Who knows really. Could be random. 5. I cba anymore. I used to. Maybe it would be nice if I did again. 6. Picture of my dog, my wife and myself.
  7. The draft was quite the experience. Honestly, I expected myself to go last in the draft considering I don't think anyone actually knew who I was. I haven't played a single minute in the VHLM this past season. Nobody knows if I've progressed at all or not. Nobody knows anything about me. Who is this dude? Is he even a goalie? Who knows really. I mean, I even had to get reminded if I was a player in Ottawa or the equipment manager. If I was the equipment manager, lets be honest.... I would've been an all star at it. Thats how much I was on the bench there. That isn't a bad thing though. Ottawa had their set goalie, had the 2nd best team in the VHLM. Ottawa didn't need me. I was a passenger on this team. It's not a knock that I wasn't good enough to start. It was a compliment that I was even on this roster. I know this. Ottawa was a fantastic team to be apart of. I really enjoy the VHLM and I hope I get to showcase my style and class this season for VHLE and VHL teams to scout me and understand me more. I will be impressive. Mark my words.
  8. Ottawa was a humbling experience for me, personally. I think I deserved to start at least once before I joined them but honestly, I didn't. I was not prepared for the level of play at the VHLM and I'm now ready I feel. I know I was one of the youngest players to join the league. I've been training separately and with the team in order to get myself up to speed. I think I have finally made that mark. I think I'm prepared to make the jump and become a VHLM goalie and in turn become the best VHLM goalie this coming season. Last year, when I was in the juniors, I had the strongest save percentage and was the best goalie prospect coming out of the province. This year, it's time to look at globally where I rank. Which really isn't that high, to be honest. Like sure, in the VHLM I'm one of the coveted goalies to have in the league but in terms of prospect ranking, I'm really not that high up there. I will be though. I'll be competing for a lot this coming season and for future seasons. I'm here to stay and I'm here to be the best goalie I can possibly be. I want to be challenging for trophies every single step of the way and I intend to be meticulous and determined to build a certain way to get that. I know I will move around a lot and not be loyal to a team once I get to the VHL. I want my career to be as positive as possible. Which to me could also mean living uncomfortably. San Diego has been nothing but good to me. We got in last Friday, found a cute little apartment for me near by the training complex. 20 minute walk into training every morning I think will be nothing short but a great addition to my conditioning. Fans have been nothing but supportive as San Diego don't have too much teams to celebrate, specially in the hockey realm. I'm excited to bring some energy back to this team again this season. Specially since the Marlins just came off a championship and won it all. It's time for us to go for it again. Is it possible to be the best VHLM goalie this season? Who knows really. I just feel like the sky is the limit in San Diego under @jacobcarson877 and the rest of his coaching staff. San Diego won last season and theres no mistake if thats the case. You can't just luck yourself into a finals and win. It's well thought out, development plans are followed to a team and players are hitting objectives or even exceeding objectives. San Diego is the best place for me to be right now. I've already had meetings with the player development team and have reviewed footage all the way from my juniors and showing me where I can improve. This is an exceptional place to play in. Lets do this San Diego!
  9. 1. I'm excited. It's finally a chance to show my qualities and abilities. I never got a shot in Ottawa and thats no shot towards them. They're a great organization and I learned a lot in my time there. Now, it's my time to shine. 2. A lot of puck luck, determination and hard work. We can definitely do this if we set our minds to it. 3. Experience and honestly, playing a game. I'm sure I will. 4. Arsenal FC are first in the table so, I'll take that. 5. Probably footie. 6. Oh eggs would be killer. I'm also writing this at 8:30 am right now.

  11. Well, for the most part... I've missed the VHL. Most people know that the VHL was my first league and I came into this league around the same time as some members in here. I played for the Halifax 21st under @Thranduil(pls come back u bum) and feasted with my boys @CowboyinAmerica@Steve@Acydburn@Gaudette and a few others. We went out in the second round with what was a hell of a run with the team. Acyd was drafted to Seattle and I was drafted to Malmo. In my opinion, those were the top 2 teams in the league at that time and for a long time we were competitors. One thing I will mention is that, Seattle definitely prevailed and won multiple cups in that time, whereas we never won anything. Unfortunate really but that was a super fun rivalry to be a part of. I honestly feel like the VHL has lost a bit of that competitive edge since then. Can I pinpoint where it comes from? No, I personally can't and I don't really care to find out what it is. I'd love to see the league return to a highpoint of competitiveness. That would be exciting as hell to have again. I feel like most sim leagues have lost that edge of competitiveness. We need team rivalries to come back for a vengeance. More trash talk in the discord and more trash talk in media spots. GM's talking trash everywhere. I think if we had that, we'd be keeping a lot more members around in general. However, we also need the league to keep in mind that this is all for fun, nothing is personal and this is a hobby. Do not go overboard. Theres tasteful competitive edge and theres distasteful competitive edge. Keep it tasteful everyone. We are a community after all. What else is missing in the VHL? Well, I think a few more things. I will say, I have a feeling that theres too much action with the E. The implementation of the E I think had some drastic side effects that we may not have seen happening. Which includes the competitive nature of the VHL and VHLM. I think how competitive the VHLM was perceived is now no longer there and the incentive to earn like a mad person is kinda gone as well. Maybe we were hasty in introducing the idea of the VHLE or maybe it wasn't the right way to go. I say this, knowing that theres huge great benefits that I still agree is being given, I think the negatives however outweigh the positives. I'm also not suggesting that the VHLE get scrapped either. I'm sure theres a solution between the lines and the BOG will sort it out sooner rather than later. VHL is life. VHL is home. I haven't been consistent here at all. I know that myself. I also know that I may have built up a bit of a reputation as that person that eventually goes IA. Maybe I am that guy, maybe I'm not. But to be honest, the VHL is where I end up whenever I'm hard core into sim leagues. It's my league and it's my home. This community has created so many great moments for me as a dude and I've made plenty of great friends over time. Stay classy VHL and never lose that charm. I'll always return from IA to you lot.
  12. Olivier Gauthier is not a house hold name yet, however, he is someone to be on the look out for. He's been named one of the brightest young goalies to come out of Quebec and there is heavy pressure and expectations for him to exceed. However, if you speak to him, you'll see that he has no issues when it comes to pressure at all. "I've been dealing with these expectations my whole life. I'm not scared to confront my future or my career. Will I succeed? Maybe. Will I be the least clutch goalie in VHL history? Maybe. Who knows? Thats the glory in this all. I obviously want to win and I'm going to win. It just may not be in a traditional sense." Olivier spent most of his days playing junior hockey in Montreal before moving to Quebec City to join up with his new club. This club is what elevated his play to the next level and he is being touted as the best goalie coming out of Quebec. In fact, some VHLM scouts have been scouting him up since he was 15 years old, prior to joining his current club. "I know theres been a lot of hype around me but it's all just noise. Theres lots of great talent around Quebec and in the world. Please, keep that in mind!" I'm extremely excited to bring this guy up here finally as the public hasn't noticed much about him at all yet. He's going to be the best goalie prospect in his draft year in my opinion and thees already some great goalies around his age. I'm excited to see how it all shakes out as well.

  14. We’ve done it before. We can do it again, Eno.
  15. Going to apply on the simple basis that I’d previously held the position before and had to step down for irl reasons. I hold no jobs in the league and I don’t plan to hold any other positions either.
