  1. Jakub Izacky isn’t a name you’ve probably familiar with, unless your from the small town of Litoměřice, where the young star has been tearing up the Czech League 1, the second highest level of hockey in the Czech Republic. Izacky lead his hometown team HC Stadion Litoměřice in points last season with 37 goals and 41 for 78 points in 52 games, 6th in league scoring and 1st in Rookie scoring across the league. The young star display fantastic speed, skating, hands and offensive vision when VHLM scouts watched him compete in a few games for Czechia in the national Under 17 championships, where he had 2 goals and an assist in 4 games. At the end of the Czech season Izacky got called up to HC Kometa Brno, The Parent Team to his amateurs team, to finish out the season as they were missing the playoffs by a wide margin. In the first game Izacky had a goal, a beautiful wrister from the slot which had fans on their feet. Izacky played well, but with 3:32 left in regulation Russian Defender Olag Rubnishki boarded Izacky from behind, leaving him unconscious on the ice, a scum ensued, and Izacky ended up being tripped over and almost stepped on while laying motionless. He was taken to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with a Concussion and fractured C1 Vertebrae. Izacky ended up making a full recovery, but decided to take his talents away from the gruesome Czech leagues. VHLM Teams now have full availability to make offer an offer to the young star, who is very eager to stay playing as soon as possible.

  6. Kevin Killing it so far
  7. Born in the small town of Bathurst, New Brunswick, Kevin Kirkpatrick was often in the shadow of his Older brother Nick. 3 years his Junior, Nick was a phenom as soon as he touched the ice. Kevin, was not. Nick ended up playing on a lot of Kevin’s teams, and was most times, the best player in the team, which led to frustrations and some jealousy and eventually Kevin quitting hockey. Years passed, Kevin joined other sports, including Lacrosse, Track and field, and Rowing. After joining Highschool he was eventually persuaded into joining their last placed hockey team. He started off slowly, but after training with his brother and his teammates in his spare time for a few weeks, his game improved drastically. He developed into a strong two-way forward, dominating both ends of the ice, and helped his minor team reach the playoffs. Even though they got pounced in 5 games, He had a pretty impressive stat line from that season and playoffs. GP:48 G:38 A:43 P:81 Playoffs: GP:5 G:7 A:4 P:11 Not only was he a dominant offensive force, his Defensive game, Particularly his back checking was most noticeable, as he was a key part in breaking up lots of plays past the redline, taking lots of pressure off his weak defence. He eventually was asked to play Quad A Bantam, He continued to impress scouts and coaches alike, Potting 67 points in only 34 games. He missed a fair chunk of the season due to the National tournament for team NB, where he was a 3rd liner. He only gathered 3 points, but played a prominent defensive role. His team play got him noticed by many scouts, and before long he was getting calls about potentially declaring for the VHL draft. Kevin had his fears however, as his brother Nick had already gone down that road. Nick Has a solid stint in the VHLM, but burned out very quickly and ended up moving overseas to find work. He ended up in some trouble, but managed to get home safely. Those series of events rattled Kevin however, and he resisted declaring for the VHLM without consulting friends and agents and considering his options. Ultimately he ended up signing with The Ottawa Lynx. Kirkpatrick wanted to stay in Canada to be closer to home, and signing with Ottawa was a clear cut decision. Word Count: 402
  8. Also first question glitched and wiped..so 1.MVP Is usually always the goalie!! Hard to say because I’m new but it looks like we actually have 2 solid tendys!
  9. Thank you for all the offers btw! Analyzed and thought hard, but as a Canadian, and a former Prague Phantom, it’s hard to say no to the Ottawa offer, but thank you nonetheless!!
  10. As a former Prague teammate, it’s hard to say no to unlimited mins!! Sign me up!! #GoLynxGo!!
  11. Atlantic Canada bantam hockey star right winger Kevin Kirkpatrick has declared for the VHLM in a recent interview with sports journalists Doobie Roobie, Kirkpatrick Accumulated 67 Points in 34 games this past season, and many GM’s will likely be eyeing him up. Kirkpatrick plays a strong 2 way game and can shift between both wings. He’s a bigger frame and definitely has room to grow into it. His conditioning report from last years trading camp blew away lots of scouts for a 15 year old, and he hasn’t slowed down one bit, overall he’s a fantastic athlete, competing in Rowing, Disc Toss and when his coach made a comment about his skating weakness, he trained with the town figure skating team. Kevin also has been training with his older brother Nick Kirkpatrick, a former VHLM player who burned out in the pros and fell into obscurity in European Leagues. He was arrested in Russia a few months back for creating a Vladimir Putin Parody Channel and sentenced to Siberia, but he was recently seen back home so it’s believed he Jason Bourned his way out of there, More in that to come when details are available though. Kevin has stated he’s excited about about the opportunity, but likely won’t sign right away until he mills his options.

  13. VHLM Prospect Matt Kozun recently declared for the Amateur draft. The Drummondville Quebec native has been a sensation this season for the Voltigeurs this season, making a tremendous jump from High School. He’s played 46 Games this season and recorded 58 Points, including 34 Goals. He has a strong offensive drive and smart instinct that make him lethal in the offensive zone. His back checking could use improvements but he’s showed this season that he’s a tremendous fast learner, Going from healthy scratch to Top line minutes in a matter of weeks. Biggest Strengths Skating He’s a very fast and fluent skating. He claimed once in an interview his coach made him do weeks of Figure skating to work on his angles, or he would be cut from the team. It’s easily one of his best skills now, and he’s probably one of the better young skaters declaring for the draft. Shooting He has an absolutely lethal shot. He got primary power play time in the late stretch of the season and would park in Ovechkin’s office and rip wristers, he scored 14 of his goals on the power play. Puck Handling He’s showed stick handling skills of a Veteran. He’s won a couple shootout games for his team this season with a little DoSiDo, and brought fans to their feet. He rarely looses the puck and can hold off defenders when making a rush Biggest Weaknesses Physicality Kozun is mainly an offensive player, Not a strong physical power forward by any means. He does have a tendency to get pushed off the puck by bigger defenders when he can’t out-skate it puck handle them, which isn’t much of an issue right now but could be in the big leagues. Defensive Coverages Like I stated above, Kozun is an offensive player, so he isn’t relied on much to play in the defensive zone, but as he grows Coaches will demand more of that, so he will have to learn. He has been caught pinching when trying to cover defenders and made a couple bad passes when I def pressure in his own zone. Kozun is declaring for the draft a little late, so there’s not many scouts that have a report on him, so he will probably slip late in the draft. His Agency has produced a couple decent VHL players in the past in Alex Pearson and Ryan Ryker, so he could potentially be a steal for a VHLM team this week when the draft is held.

  15. The Upcoming VHLM season is going to be an exciting one to watch. Many exciting top prospects like Brandon Skuin, Brandt Fuhr, Pheobe Bridgers and Igor Molotov will be dominating the league in this upcoming season. One player who has been plying u see the radar, is 16 year old Ryan Zilbert, who recently declared eligible for the VHL from his high school team. His stat line over the past 3 season has been quite impressive. He has lost several games these past years due to COVID or Injury, But this season he was the only player on his team to play the whole 51 game season. 19-20 GP:23 G:17 A:15 P:32 20-21 GP:42 G:34 A:42 P:75 21-22 GP:51 G:68 A:23 P:91 Zilbert is known for his shot, This past season his team fell apart with injuries and he didn’t have much help, hence the low assist totals. The next closest goal scorer was Keegan King with 17. Zilbert also is not afraid to get his nose dirty, Racking up a couple fights this past season standings up for his teammates. He didn’t exactly win either fight, one of them ended with a nasty black eye and crooked nose, but he returned for the very next game, and still showed tenacity. Scouts should keep their eyes on Zilbert, as he just signed with the JayRad player agency today as well after declaring for the VHLM. The agency has a semi decent track record, with their best player being Prague Phantoms Retired fan favourite Alex Pearson.

  19. Former VHL Player Alex Pearson has been Released from Black River Road Penitentiary On Wednesday after the Crown dropped 3 Charges of Drug trafficking and a Weapons charge. He is still facing a Minor charge for Possession. While in the VHL Pearson Was drafted by the Helsinki Titans, and was one of the first picks by the Prague Phantoms in their expansion draft. He played in Prague for his Entire VHL Career, Becoming Team Captain, Leader in goals, and eventually his number hung in the rafters. Person was Arrested A Couple Years back After the bar that him and Former teammate Seabass Perrin @Seabasshas been operating was Raided and a Undercover illegal Business was found, Which Pearson was charged for. He disturbed the case on a Number of grounds and it seems things have gone his way.
