    Real sad hours PC

    1. After a hard-fought series, the Bears come out ahead in Game 7. How do we feel about the series?

    2. With the season officially over, it's golf season. Who's the best golfer on the team?

    3. Is it better to lose to the cup champs or watch the team that beat you also lose it all?

    4. What do you want to improve in the offseason?

    5. What are you most excited about for S70?

    6. How was everyone's New Year's?

    Nothing sad here.

    1. I mean you have to feel good. We picked up our regular season games and then went on to game seven overtime with Seattle. Sure, maybe we could have been in the finals now, but we did a proper showing.

    2. Wood chopping, golf is for sissy's.

    3. I kind of want Seattle to lose, but I don't think they will. So yeah, I want the guys who beat us to be beaten. Add LeGrande to that.

    4. I'm going against the grain, I'm putting points into Leadership and Discipline. Roleplaying.

    5. Just this team growing. We still seem to have good picks too. My hope is that this will be a long-running, top-contender franchise from now on.

    6. Uneventful. It's kind of arbitrary isn't it? Doesn't even line up with the winter solstice.... But yeah, it was... normal.

    4) New York Americans (+1527)

Not far behind, and almost as impressive considering their trades, is NY. Solid drafting starting to pay off with a bunch of S68 guys all sticking together.

I like the wording of that. And yeah, I think we have a couple of really good seasons ahead of us.

It's getting colder... good thing we can warm with the finals.

    1. By the time you answer this we may have either won or lost the finals. How do you think we did over the playoff?
    2. Peace will be moving on to Toronto, is he set up for immediate success there and/or how do you believe he will do?
    3. When Peace leaves I will probably apply for the GM-ship here, if you're staying down would you be happy with that?
    4. Who are some members that deserve GM jobs in the league? VHLM or VHL. (cheekily assuming I do)
    5. How do you think as a team we can improve for next season?
    6. The VHL's first annual christmas charity drive was a resounding success, with the league members meeting our donation goal within a few hours. Have you claimed your free doubles week yet?  (Everybody gets one, regardless of donating or not)

I'll apply. I have been interested in becoming a GM since I started, and an AGM could be the thing I need.

Viper has been consistently involved and a positive and active influence in our LR (both when I played with him in Houston, and now when he's at Saskatoon) and I'd love to see him getting a chance, I'm sure he'd make both San Diego and the VHLM proud.

A lot of people had predicted it would be an easier win for Seattle, but New York played brilliantly for six games and brought the series to overtime in game seven. We're meeting up with their defenceman Fredrik Elmebeck who had both a good season and playoff, though invisible in game seven.

Victory Associated Press International Division: How do you feel?

Fredrik Elmebeck: Good... and a bit deflated. I'm proud we did so well, obviously we were only one goal from going on to the next round, so it's mixed feelings.

VAPID: We were surprised to see this was your first playoff, you were a name thrown around from the middle of your first season and I guess I just assumed you had more playoff experience.

Elmebeck: Well, when I started in Houston we were in a heavy rebuild and so I joined just the season before they dominated VHLM and won the cup, and S68 with New York was also the start of a rebuild. But yeah, I take a lot with me from this series, and if nothing else that New York will be a contender in future seasons from now on.

VAPID: New York had a bad start to the season.

Elmebeck: Yeah, but I think everyone but one kind of knew we would work through it and persevere; and I think we did that with our pickup in the regular season, and now just barely losing in OT. Great things await in the future.

    VAPID: Plans now?

Elmebeck: Chopping wood. It's a bit like golf, but useful.

  6. Yukon did well to go to the playoffs, but got decimated in the few four short games played. Saskatoon made number of each game with the closest game ending 7-3, and they have now earned a nice New Years and gold break.

Next up for Saskatoon is Mississauga Hounds (Edit: Philadelphia Reapers or Halifax 21st it seems) who in turn also beat Ottawa Lynx with ease. These two teams who ended the regular season first and second should prove to be quite the match-up where maybe (or maybe) there won't be a clean win.

Best performers so far in the league has mostly been from Saskatoon with 6/10 of the top points leaders from SSK, the trio of Encarciantion, O'Quinn and DeYeeto still dominating the defensive output, and with Lafontaine with an impressive .936 save percentage. The only outlier really has been Kyle Andersen in Philadelphia Reapers.

The rest of the playoffs will be interesting to follow; will Saskatoon continue to dominate as much as they have during the season or is there any chance for an upset or close series with any of the awaiting contenders?

    Happy new year, happy playoffs!

    1. Was sweeping Yukon expected?
    2. Any thoughts on the next round for us?
    3. Surprised by either the VHLM or VHL playoff results so far?
    4. If you are aware, involved or affected by the Calgary drama, any comments?
    5. VHLM only has 11 teams now, let's say we could add a 12th to keep numbers even - where would it be situated and what would its name be?
    6. Did you have a good holiday break?
    7. Any presents of note - given or received?
    8. Do you scoff at the sales between Christmas and New Years or do you splurge in the "sales"?
    9. Plans for New Years?
    10. Resolutions for New Years?

Edit: 11. Have you broken your resolutions yet?
