I agree with what you guys are saying, I've changed it to gold rather than yellow. I think it's a lot easier to read now. Thanks for the feedback!

This is great, the only thing I would suggest is changing the yellow font that is used a couple times.  I had to highlight over the text to see what it said.

    1. How do you feel about being a part of Vancouver Wolves organization?
I'm excited to finaly start playing for the wolves after spending some extra time in the VHLM.

    2. How do you think you will perform at the VHL level compared to the Minors?
I expect that my numbers will go down quite a bit, but hopefully I can still contribute to the team

    3. What skill set do you possess and how will they help team?
I am a skate/pass first kind of guy on a team full of shooters.  Hopefully I can enable others to score

    5. Having a lot of star power on our team, which teammates do think are going to be our Captain and A’s for S71?
I don't know the order but maybe Wolfe, Freeman, Jagr.  I think Scott and Downey would be good choices as well

    6. Having some new faces on the team means the lines will most likely see some changes. Who would you like to have on your line if it was your call?
In terms of raw skill I'm the weakest person on the team I imagine I'll will be paired with Louth.  In front of us Wang, Meyers, Wolf maybe?  I'm not sure, we will have to play around with lines to see what works and what doesn't.

    10. If you had to pick 3 current roster players that are the “franchise faces“ of our team, who would they be?
I duno if I could pick 3 guys, the roster has been pretty consistent since i was drafted.

A few months ago I got a setup going in WMMA5 for a yearly, 16 person tournament. I've been planning on getting 10 seasons of history into the game and then integrating it into the VHL, and with me being on self-quarantine from gallbladdervirus, I figured now would be as good a time as any to get this off the ground. There won't really be any user interaction here, fighter progression and all that is taken care of by the game, you're basically just sticking your chosen name on the fighter you get. Anyways, if you wanted to know some more about how I run this, here:

This will be a when-I-feel-like-it kind of thing, where I'll sim and post results (maybe fight logs, at the least a short summary of each fight) whenever I get around to doing all that. If you wanna be in this, just fill out the form below. I'll randomly assign the first 32 people to sign up to a male or female fighter and they'll assume whatever history that assigned fighter had built up to that point.

An understated forward for most of his career, Arroyo was a first-gen in what was a barren period for that type of player. Drafted by a budding powerhouse in Calgary, Arroyo was overshadowed by some other Hall of Fame ballot mainstays (and some inductees) like Norris Stopko, Mats Johnsson, Keaton Louth, and Jasper Canmore. However, he played a key role in their 3 straight cup final appearances and Continental Cup win in S62.

It was after the Calgary firesale that he secured his place in the Hall of Fame, by taking a leadership opportunity in Toronto and using it to become the best forward in the league, at the same time as leading a middle-of-the-pack Legion team to a surprising back-to-back championship. Arroyo then had a quieter end to his career but finished with very respectable regular season and playoff career totals for a worthy induction for @omgitshim.

We see a lot of defencemen moving to forward and vice versa in the modern VHL so it's fitting we have got our first modern position switch HOFer for them to look up to. Generally, to get into the Hall of Fame with a split career, you need to really excel at one of the positions. Fortunately for Kovalchuk, he did exactly that, being one of the dominant defencemen of the league throughout his first 5 seasons in the league, winning every trophy available to that position as the quarterback of the high-octane early 60s Seattle.

Given how few HOF defencemen we see these days, it was a disappointment for many including myself to see Kovalchuk switch to forward when he returned to the Bears with a few seasons to go in his career. Still, his output on defence was enough to push through as a first ballot inductee. Certainly coming back to captain his original team to a cup (and then win another one) helped elevate his slower end to his career. All in all, at last GM sacrifices did not derail a standout career for @Banackock.

Now onto the Builder. So it's a double induction for Bana! He can rub people the wrong way sometimes, including myself, but there's no denying that this is a guy who wears his heart on his sleeve and has done huge amounts in his main roles for Seattle and for the VHLM, but also for the VHL at large through sheer activity and enthusiasm. He's the longest-serving VHL GM currently, and the longest ever in the role for the same franchise, as well clocking up the miles as VHLM Commissioner in what has often been a volatile role. I'm not going to lie, I voted against him being inducted just yet, but mainly because I like inducting people after their main body of work is behind them - with Bana I feel he still has more to give.

Either way, a worthy inductions. Congratulations again @Banackock

The Daisuke Kanou Trophy is awarded to the most valuable player during the VHL playoffs. Similar to the Scotty Campbell Trophy, the Kanou focuses on those players who have what it takes to perform in the clutch moments of a playoff run, and who are instrumental to their team’s postseason successes.

Always a hard decision, it is difficult to pinpoint which player is most deserving over such a small sample. Two brilliant players received votes and one of them won it in a true landslide.

    HC Davos Dynamo Receive:
    RW Derek Eriksson

     D.C. Dragons Receive:
    S71 VAN 2nd

    Analysis

Things were getting a little crowded on the D.C. Dragons’ roster, so, when you have an extra forward that is talented enough to see ice time but doesn’t have a place on your squad, you shop him. The Dynamo still have the cap space to make some more moves this off-season, so adding some offensive depth while it is available on the market is a big plus.

Derek Eriksson, my child, slipped just out of the first round in the S70 draft and spent his second season in Philadelphia, but he is now ready to play on a VHL roster. Davos is probably looking at one more season at least before serious contention, so that makes this a timely pickup that allows them to test the rookie out in a variety of situations.

As far as D.C.’s haul, Vancouver’s second-round pick isn’t high-value, but it certainly has a chance of producing a good player. After making the playoffs for the first time as a franchise, it would be nice to see the Dragons start making moves for now, and I’m not sure if this falls into that category.

Altogether, this looks like a swap of bottom-line players, but both sides seemed to think they could do better than what they currently possess. It will be exciting to follow Derek Eriksson’s progress this season, but if Davos makes the playoffs in S71 it will be hard to call anything of their moves from this off-season a loss. For D.C. look for more moves as they try to assemble a roster that can contend for the top of the North American Conference.

     Get-to-Know the Players

    Derek Eriksson

After playing his rookie season with the Philadelphia Reapers, Derek Eriksson was retained by the team in the S70 draft. That is always a good sign when a team’s GM sees something in a player he’s familiar with that makes them want to reach a little bit to hold on to them.

Eriksson’s first season was a productive one with fifty-five points in sixty-two games. He also set a theme for his entire VHLM career, shooting percentage. Derek has been very efficient on offence through his first two seasons, improving to forty-eight goals on three-hundred twenty-two shots and ninety-eight points.

If Eriksson is looking to improve, his 200-ft game could use some help as he is sometimes a bit invisible in his own zone. It will be interesting to see if he gets any ice time in special-teams situations this season, as he consistently produced in that role for the Reapers.

    Xavier leFlamant

The pick acquired by D.C. became Xavier leFlamant, who will be entering his second season in the VHLM. He played alongside Eriksson on the Reapers last season and will be to the Philadelphia Reapers' roster in S71. leFlamant is an exciting prospect, but he still has work to do in the minors. However, look for him to make waves in his new leadership role, maybe even turning the Reapers into a contender.

    1. How did you spend your offseason?
I always go home to Finland to visit friends and family.  Normally I spend more time there but I'm searching for a place to call my own in the Vancouver area now.

    2. If you could own any all-time record in the VHL (if you don't already) which would you like to own?
It would be cool to have the record for hits.

    3. In honour of the new age for the VHL (S70's) what would you like to see for our Alternate jerseys? (logo, colour sheme, patterns, etc etc)
I don't even know what it was before but maybe a throwback to whatever the team used before moving to Vancouver (assuming it's different, I have no idea)

    6. A lot of players around the take "hometown discounts". Do you think there a solution to make contract earnings more meaningful?
I'm sure there is but it's complicated.  All the stuff with money would need to change.  This includes the store items, store prices, salary cap.  It can also effect how many spots are available for people to play if people are not just taking the minimum.

    7. If you had to pick an MVP for our team this season, who would you nominate?
Probably HHH.  He tied for the team lead in points while also having far and away the most hits on the team while also not seeming to take to many penalties despite all the hits.  I think you can make cases for 3 or 4 of the guys though.

    8. What are your player's plans for next season? (S71)
Well I'm finaly going to be joining the VHL propper and play with the big boys.  So just getting used to the next level.

Garsh reacted to Greg_Di in COVID-19 and the All-Star game
The COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is spreading all over the world and almost all major sports organizations have postponed or cancelled their seasons. The VHL has decided to keep operations open for the time being.

The VHL just recently wrapped up their 70th season so no games are scheduled for the time being. The only game that will be happening soon is the All-Star games and according to all league sources that game is going full steam ahead. The VHL will be taking all steps necessary to make sure the event for the fans and players are safe.
With regards to next season, the league anticipates no rescheduling or postponement and all league officials expect the season to start on time.

We spoke with Greg Eagles regarding this news and the upcoming all-stars game.
“ You know, I don’t think our league is that worried right now, the season has just wrapped up and the last thing to do is the all-star game. No one from the league has been infected by this virus and none of the fans have either” Said Eagles “ The league officials and our team officials are doing everything they can to make sure everyone is safe”

“I am looking forward to competing this season in the all-star games and I know every other player selected is also excited to participate “ Eagles continued “ It’s going to be a fun filled affair for everyone and we encourage all fans to come out and support your favorite players”
Many health officials are worried that the league and players are sending to wrong signal to fans. Most countries are now banning public events which feature 250+ people and encouraging people to stay inside and avoid all social gatherings. With Eagles and the league still encouraging people to come out to the games….they may be putting everyone at risk.

Health and Country officials are pleading with the league to postpone the game until at least the pandemic is more under control but the league is not budging.

“ We have a great game planned for everyone, we spend a lot of time and effort organizing this so we will continue as planned “ a league official said “ The fans can decide for themselves if they would like to come out and watch or sit at home and watch on TV. That is completely up to them but the show will go on no matter what. If fans attend the game they will be in for a great game, autographs from their favorite players and multiple prizes to be won”

Some of the prizes up for grabs to the fans are a brand new 2020 Corvette C8, season tickets to each teams games, cash prizes and hockey memorabilia. Prizes will be raffled off and all proceeds from the raffle will be donated to a charity that is to be decided at a future date.

It is to be seen if this event will lead to any cases of the virus and if it does could it have an effect of the start of S71?
