  2. Hello everyone and welcome back to another quarterly report, this go around for Toby Kadachi, it's..... been a tough time for the Russian winger, with just eight points this quarter. Six goals and two assists. This is the worst quarter he's had out of season 92 and 93, there's definitely questions to be asked if Kadachi fits with the team or is being used for the right situations. Adding to that is a record low shots, with just 52, which narrowly beats out the last quarter of season 92 with 53. For hits it's the number we just mentioned, 53, which matches the first quarter as well. Kadachi got most of his points early in the quarter before failing to score in three games, having a two goal game and then went on a skid of eight games. In other words he's recorded two points in 12 games. Other things worthy of note is in game 27 he racked up 19 penalty minutes, and in game 32 he had zeros in every category that we mention, so no shots or hits, only thing worth mentioning is he won two faceoffs and played 21 minutes and 21 second, so it's not like he was stapled to the bench. If this keeps up Kadachi could finish the season with worse numbers than last season, here's hoping that doesn't happen. (word count 227)

  4. Hello VHL goers and welcome back to out first quarterly report for season 93, for this one we're focusing on the Russian left winger, Toby Kadachi. The start of this season for the forward has been disappointing to say the least. It started off with him failing to score in the first five games before finally notching an assist in game six, he'd score his first goal in game seven. Kadachi ended the the quarter with four goals and six assists for ten points, numbers that may seem familiar to eagle eyed viewers. In the first quarter of last season Kadachi put up the exact same numbers. While Kadachi hasn't regressed he hasn't taken a step forward either. If we take a look at his hits and shots they are different though, 63 shots and 53 hits compared to 59 shots and 81 hits. One of those is slightly higher while the other is dramatically lower. It's hard to know exactly what's going on, maybe Kadachi's role has changed or he's just trying to play a littler differently, maybe the coached has asked to cut back on hitting, who knows? It's only the first quarter though so it's too early to jump to conclusions. See ya next time readers. (word count 209)
  5. 1. Not great, 4 points in 12 games, last season Kadachi had 10 points in 18 games, he's looking to finish with like 6 points in 18 games. 2. Very up and down. 3. I'll say United, though not by much. 4. Visit friends I have over there. 5. The beach. 6. Well to dinner of course.
  6. 1. I'd be feeling pretty great if I were you guys. 2. Not entirely, rough start for him. 3. Most likely. 4. yes. 5. Syko, always love goalies. 6. Fire sale I guess, gettin right into the rebuild.
  7. I needed another subject to talk about for a article so figured why not talk about what I hope Kadachi is able to do this season. As a quick recap Toby Kadachi record 13 points in his Rookie season, six goals and seven assists, keep in mind he came straight from the M and joined a rebuilding Seattle Bears team. Kadachi had 91 shots on net and gave 165 hits to the opposing team. In his sophomore season he jumped up by 30 points and had his first 20 goal season, 20 on the dot and 23 assists for 43 points. Keep in mind this was a Seattle team that hit rock bottom in season 92, Kadachi was one of the few bright spots on the team for it's future. His shots on net went way up to 259 and his hits went up to 289. So with that said when am I hoping for the five stats I've talked about? For goals I hoping he can break 30 this season but I'd accept hitting 25 as passable. What makes this a little hard is Kadachi got lots of ice time last season as he was one of the better players on the team so I'm not if his ice time may be taken back a notch or two with more players on the team. His assists so far have slight been ahead of his goals so I think he will have about 30-35 assists by the end of the season, and that should put him in the 50 to 60 point range. Of course I'd love for him to make another 30 point jump but I don't think that's as likely. Finally for shots and hits..... a little harder to guess on these ones but I'll say he should pass 300 for both, I'll say around 325 shots and 350 hits. Can't wait to look back on this at the end of the season be terribly wrong!! (word count 328)
  8. This is another ramble so I can claim for doubles before the season starts tomorrow, I don't really have a topic in mind. Season 93 will be the 22nd season I've played in the VHL across the M or L (I haven't played a season in the E yet). It would be 24th but I took seasons 87 and 88 off to recharge. I still don't know if that was enough at times though, Some days I still find it hard to get myself to actually work on VHL related stuff, I have to be in such a certain mood to work on something to do with the league. I feel like the 18 seasons I played in a row between Hextall and Ori I spent a lot of that energy and creativity for hockey focused topics in that span. Those years took all that want to write hockey right out of me and leaves me more often than not wanting to write about other things. I know I've gone over this topic a few times so sorry for the repetitiveness but I find there's always another way to explain it, another way to look at it. There's now doubt in my mind at this point that I'll take another break after Kadachi's career is done. I really wanted to have a player around for season 100 cause that will be something special but I don't want to make a player that would only play a season or two before I just want to quit entirely. I am at least dedicated to updating Kadachi all the way till the end of his career. Speaking of Kadachi though I was taking a look back at his draft season of 91 to see where some of my fellow draftee's ended up at TPE wise. Seven players were taken ahead of Kadachi despite being one of seven to over 300 TPE at the draft. TPE isn't everything I know but I just feel like the odd one out when six of the top seven were over 300 and the one who wasn't was at 299. I'm not gonna sit here and act like I was miles ahead of others though, I was barely over 300 TPE (301) there were a number of players within 20-25 TPE of Kadachi. Maybe it's because I took a break or maybe it's based on Ori's career that GM's don't place me as high as others. Look I was never expecting to be top five but I was not expecting to fall that far either, I was thinking top ten at least. I get it though that GM's also talk with players/users before the draft and may lock themselves in on a certain player no matter the TPE difference, and I can respect and understand that. Really I just wonder if any of them regret not taking Kadachi when they had the chance. No hard feelings though, I love ya all! Well I just need a touch more for 500... and that will do it. See you all for season 93!! (word count 513)
  9. No doubt early on in the season, if not before it even began the player of the Seattle Bears knew they wouldn't be making the playoffs. Of course they all played with the hope of getting there and proving everyone long but we all knew the chances of that were one in a trillion. Kadachi already had a flight back to Russia booked before the season even ended, "It was a rough season as everyone expected, rebuilds are never pretty and going through one..... it's been tough." Kadachi spent the entire off-season in Russia and even when training camp opened he was still nowhere to be seen. People started to speculate if he wasn't returning, if he was done with the VHL, but with just five days before the season begins the left winger finally showed up at practice. "I made the commitment to this team, to be apart of this rebuild. I just.... needed some extra time for a mental reset, but I'm here now and ready to play." The start of the season is just a few days out and it'll be interesting to see where Seattle places at the end of the season. Kadachi took big strides last season, making a 30 point increase from his first season, he should break the 50 point barrier this season and maybe even be a point per game. Time will tell. (word count 231)

  12. 1. It was a good step forward, breaking 20 goals and such, hopefully next season he can get to a point per game. 2. We were where most thought we'd be in the standings, was a rebuilding season. 3. I am happy for them, they have my fave logo after all! 4. I'll take the boring answer and say Maverick Goncalves. 5. Probably Woods but Goncalves could to, not to big of a difference between them. 6. Probably trading out some of the veterans? I'm expecting another season near the bottom though.
  13. It's never a surprise to see former VHL players come and visit during the playoffs, a lot of them still feel a strong connection to the league or to a specific team. For Jonathan Ori it seems he still has very fond memories of playing for the Titans, the team he spent the most time with. "Unfortunately the team never made the playoffs while I was there, despite that though I still really enjoyed my time there. The crowd us always great, had a lot of great teammates there and the GM and AGM were some of the coolest guys I ever knew. I wouldn't change that time of my life for anything." Ori's best productive season did come with the Titans, in season 82 he recorded 22 goals, 70 assists for 92 points. This was right before the VHL made some rule changes to bring down scoring in the league. Still Ori was above a point per game for his last three seasons. After his time in Helsinki Ori spent two seasons with the Bears and his final season with the Dragons, where he record his second best point totals, his only 30 goal season with exactly 30, 56 assists for 86 points. His career totals are 576 games played, 158 goals, 412 assists for 570 points. As for Helsinki this season they managed to eek out against Moscow before barely loosing to the Untied in 8 games. 17. Hello VHL viewers, the season is over and we await the playoffs to begin, which means it's time to check in on fourth quarters for players and how their numbers added up at the end of the season. Today we cover the Russian left winger, Toby Kadachi. Kadachi saw his fourth quarter match his second in terms of points, notching 12. Instead of 6 goals and 6 assists it was 5 goals and 7 assists for him. His scoring was fairly consistent, never going more than two games without a point. Most notable is that in game 59 of the season for the Seattle Bears Kadachi had a hat trick. For shots it was a quarterly low 53, his hits came back up by 10 to put him at 70 in the 18 game set. Overall for the season this gave him 289 hits and 259 shots, both numbers we expect to only get higher for next season. Kadachi in game 71 managed to bank goal number 20 on the season, making for what is hopefully the first of many 20+ goal season, he had 23 apples to go with the 20 goals for 43 points, a jump of 30 points when compared to last season. Chao for now readers, we will see you all for the next season!! (word count 219)

  20. Greetings VHL goers, sorry for the wait on this third quarter report, we know we are well into the fourth and final quarter of the season now. Better late than never as they say, today we are looking at Toby Kadachi, the third quarter was more of struggle for the Russian than his second or first quarter, only recording nine points in the 18 game set. He had five goals and four assists. We failed to record a point in the final game of quarter two and that would follow him for the first three games of quarter three, from there he would keep his scoring more consistent, never going more than two games without scoring a point. However what's most jarring is a lack of multi point games, he had zero this set. It was a lot of one point games for the winger. His game fell down elsewhere too, he only landed 60 hits this quarter, the lowest so far for him. His shots didn't drop by to much, going from 75 down to 72. It is understandable if Kadachi is feeling frustrated, the Bears have been at the bottom of rankings for some time now and perhaps his causing him to grip his stick a little too tightly, we'll just have to wait and see how the final games play out and see what improvements the Bears can make for next season. (word count 235)

  22. Hello hello readers, welcome back to our second quarterly report, we've made it back to the Seattle Bears and are once again looking at Toby Kadachi. He's had a slight increase in his production for the second quarter of the season, putting up 12 points compared to the 10 from the first 18 games. His assists have stayed the same at six but he scored two extra goals to bring it up to six as well. In 36 games now he has scored 10 goals, 12 assists for 22 points. Kadachi was also more consistent with his scoring, never going more than two games without a point. He had one game where he scored three points and had a three game goal scoring streak. For shots Kadachi doubled down, having 75 shots on goal in the 18 game set, that averages out to about four shots a game! His hits came down a little but only by three, 78 is still averaging over four hits a game. Game 31 was a big one for the Russian forward, scoring a goal, having six shots on goal but most notably delivering ten hits that game, a career high for him. Until next time readers!! 24. Hello hello and welcome to our first quarterly report of players for the season, for this post we are focusing in on Toby Kadachi. Last season he put up 6 goals and 7 assists for 13 points in his rookie season. As Kadachi came in rather early and considering the position of the Seattle Bears it is understandable his numbers wouldn't be great. For this first quarter of this season he's nearly equalled it. Putting up 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points. That said it has not been a smooth ride, while Kadachi got off to a rather hot start with 6 points in five games he failed to record a point in the next seven games. He had 4 points in the last six games of the quarter. In all of last season Kadachi recorded 91 shots on nets, so far this season he's already up to 59. For hits he's almost got half of what he had last season, 165 in S91 and 81 in just 18 games into S92. There is no real pressure on Kadachi for this season and probably the next as the Bears are still building back up, this season will hopefully be bottom of the barrel for the franchise. Catch you next time VHL goers!! (word count 214)
