    1. I feel that we have been very good, possibly the best team I have been on. I'm extremely proud of the team that we have become.

    2. Well, I would have much preferred to win Gold over Bronze, but I suppose that just being there was an honor. I think that it was a great opportunity to show off myself.

    3. No question about it, it's going to be Halifax. Hoping to meet the in the finals, they are going to be the most difficult team I have ever faced in a playoff round. Though we have to make it there first.

    4. I normally stay away from alcohol and partying, so I stay away from the bars. Usually I go home and cook a steak or chicken. Nothing too fancy because it'll usually be late, but I like to get something good in my system before I hit the hay.

    5. Cat person for sure. I like calm animals more. Sure, I might have to clean up a mouse or bird every now and then, but my cats are generally well-behaved. Though don't blame me if my sweater is covered in cat hair.

    6.  Can I say AGM JIggly Gumballs for both of these? There are times where he's one of the coolest, awesome guys out there. Then there are times when he gets drunk and sends me links to hentai. I am getting increasingly more worried as the hentai gets more and more grotesque. I think he might need help.

Breaking news coming out of Las Vegas today as goaltender Drew Minott has announced his plan to leave the VHLM behind,  and join the ranks of the L.A. Stars, at the end of this postseason. Minott confirmed this in an interview (transcribed below) following Vegas's final game of the regular season. Here are Minott's words on the ordeal:

"Hey Minner, Markus Bucyk from the Vegas Harald. I was wondering if you could give us your plans for the offseason?"

"Sure things Bucky, good to have you back after you broke your leg. I actually have something pretty big I would like to announce. I have spoken with GM Josh of the LA Stars, and after some consideration I have decided to make the jump to the VHL after this playoff run."

*Que chaos breaking out from various reporters breaking off from other players to join the Minott pile-on*

"Hey hey hey, calm down. One at a time everyone! You, over there, with the makeshift boom-mic."

"Hi Drew, Vanessa Kimbell from the Toronto Times, I was wondering that spurred on your decision to finally make the jump?"

"For sure, I just feel like I am ready to make the jump. I ain't getting any younger, and I want to play on the best stage in the world and show that so many people putting their faith in me wasn't a mistake. I have time for one more question."

"Hi Mr. Minott, Terrence Paul from the Los Angeles Post. How do you see yourself fitting in to the Los Angeles roster and locker room?"

"Yeah, that's where I have to dock myself some points. I definitely am not going to jump and immediately take the starting role. Even suggesting that would be disrespectful to Doug Dimmadome, the current starter up in LA. I feel like I'm going to be getting my toes wet for a season or two, getting some games under my belt and hopefully showing that me being there isn't a mistake. As for how I see myself fitting into the locker room, I feel like I'm going to fit in nicely. I know we aren't going to be the best team around, but I have always found that being in a bad situation helps you know exactly where you need to work on yourself. I feel excited to be coming up to LA. Thanks guy, but I have to head out now."

Once the news had reached the Los Angeles locker room, one player who knows Minner well had a statement to give. After spending the latter half of S72 together on the Houston Bulls, here is Jiggly Gumballs:

"Hello Jiggs, Jordan Hunter from the Los Angeles Times, after the recent announcement from your ex and future teammate, Drew Minott, coming up to play with the Stars in the VHL next season, what are your thoughts on how Minner will fit in with the team?"

"To me, with how good Doug Dimmadome has been as the new starter for LA. I think Minner can come in and sorta compete for that starting position. I see him and Dimmadome being a great tandem of sorts. Splitting games up between the two and acting as a one-two punch in terms of goaltending. It's honestly just great to see me and Minner reunite as teammates soon."

If we receive any more updates on the Minott situation, we will update this thread.

DreMin15 got a reaction from Spartan in Minner Minute Episode 12: Week of October 18, 2020
Hello everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Minner Minute. Here, I try to answer as many fan submitted questions as possible in a minute. Let's get goin'!

Q: Hey Minner, a few teams have been playing around with the idea of having custom goal songs for each player. If you ever managed to score a goal, what song would you want to be played?

A: That's actually a pretty good question. I think I would have to play a song that honors my hometown: Memphis, Tennessee. https://youtu.be/jYE-1HfReQo

Q: Minner, how do you think this year's Aces compare to last hear's Bulls?

A: Well, I hate to compare teams that I have been on, but if I had to say one key difference was. I would say it comes down to defense. This year's Aces are a little less Offensively talented (very slimly not as good), but they make up for it a lot in defense. I love the guys and gals from Houston, but they didn't really help me out much on the back end. Here in Vegas, I get a lot more support in our own zone.

Q: Knowing this this is your last year in the VHLM, how do you feel about moving up next year?

A: I'm honestly a bit nervious. There's a very large skill jump there. I don't mean to toot my own horn, but in this league I can say I'm one of the better goalies. Up there, I'm gonna get put in my place very fast. I just need to have confidence and keep moving forward. Do my best.

Okay, thank you everyone for coming this week. If you have any questions, please submit them! Have a good week!

1: I believe it shows that we have a very deadly team. I find it comparable to my experience on the Houston Bulls last year, but with more offense (sorry ex-teammates).

2: I think that it won't effect too much in the end, except for teams near the bottom. I know from my own experience in S72 that a few noobies can help out a team a lot.

3: Oddly enough, I wouldn't say my closest confidant or buddy would be in the locker room. That honor goes to our AGM, Big Jig Gumballs ( @JigglyGumballs ). We don't have a handshake or anything per se, but we talk a lot.

4: Bit late, but I think we're fine as we are.

5: I'm making a big ol' dinner for my family. Any of the guys who are far from home are welcome as well!

6: I barely made it to represent my home country, the good Ol' U S of A. After not making them last year (even missed team World for fuck's sake!) it really motivated me to pull my act together.

    1) Our production has slowed as of late. We're winning one game and then losing the next. What do you think needs to change?

A: I think that we just need to keep playing our game. Every team has a rough streak during a season, we just need to get out of the funk and get back on track.

    2) What do you hope to achieve when you finally make it to the VHL? For those who have already been drafted by a VHL team so far, do you think that you will achieve it with your current team?

A: I hope that I can be a valuable piece to a team, in my case LA, and win a championship. Though in all honesty, they already have Doug Dimmadome, so at best I'll be a backup for a while.

    3) What makes the Las Vegas Aces great as a team? The chemistry? The player's skill?

A: Definitely the chemistry. From what I can see from my side of the ice and the video, the guys seem to have some sort of telepathic link where they always know where the others are on the ice. It's creepy.

    4) Which VHLM team would you consider a dark horse candidate for the Cup?

A: Houston. I was one of the Big Three in S72 there with Jiggs and Patty Laine, if they can get a similar group of guys to recreate with them they have a good chance.

    5) Tea or Coffee? Which do you prefer?

A: I'm disgusted by this question. I grew up in Mississippi. Sweet Tea forever.

    6) What other awards are you aiming for apart from the Cup?

A: No other awards. At the end of the day, only one matters.

Hello everyone, and welcome back to your regularly scheduled episode of Minner Minute! Apologies for cutting it close this week, I’ve been busy! Here at Minner Minute, I’ll attempt to answer as many submitted questions as I can in one minute. Let’s do this!

Q: Hey Minner, how’s it feel to play in Vegas. How is it different to Houston?

A: Vegas has been great! I’m more of the type to stay away from the... nightlife. But I still love this city, and the team has been great. One aspect I can say seems different is the defense. I don’t mean to knock the old group from Houston, but they were full-tilt offense, whereas Vegas is more well-rounded.

Q: You’ve had a strong start to the season despite everything going on. How have you kept yourself in the groove?

A: It’s been pretty rough on all of us, but I’ve managed it pretty well. I just have to keep playing my game. I know what I can do and how well I can perform, so I hold myself to those high standards. I try not to be too fancy out there, stick to the basics and I make it work.

Q: What is your favorite part of Vegas so far?

A: That’s tough to answer. It’s a combination of things really. My teammates and the team staff are amazing, the atmosphere is so energetic it feels like we’re in the middle of a thunderstorm sometimes, and the fans give us more love than we could ever ask for. Playing here has been a blessing for me.

Okay everyone, that’s gonna wrap it up. Thank you for this week’s questions @Spartanand @JigglyGumballs! I look forward to hearing your questions for next week everyone! Until then, have a good week!

Okay everyone, that’s gonna wrap it up. Thank you for this week’s questions @Spartanand @JigglyGumballs! I look forward to hearing your questions for next week everyone! Until then, have a good week!

Despite recent tough losses to the Mississauga Hounds and Ottawa Lynx, The Las Vegas Aces have pushed up to second place in the Western Conference, shoving Yukon down to third. This doesn't make a ton of sense; the Aces have only won against really weak teams recently and have oddly fallen to teams such as the two mentioned above and the Miami Marauders. Let's not take away too much credit, though. Vegas has seven wins in their last ten games, grinding out Ws against teams like Yukon, Ottawa, Houston, Philadelphia, and San Diego. This is creating sort of a conundrum, as the Aces seem to be losing to some important games and winning like crazy at the same time. Maybe it's just like that to me, anyway.

Let's use some time now to shine the spotlight on some key players. I'm going to name some less known guys instead of the usual top scorers.

-Drew Minott @DreMin15 Goalies don't get a ton of attention in this league, so I want to give our guy some love. Minott has put up astounding numbers, with a .88 save percentage and a 2.13 GAA. He keeps us in games, and I want to give him a shout out. We wouldn't be winning without you

-Angel Wachiure @inflastud With not nearly as much ice time as the big times(Rush, Reynolds, etc.) Wachiure has had to adapt to their 2C role, and they've flourished. 9 goals and almost a point per game while also helping out on the defensive side of the puck. One of our valuable gems, for sure

-Matt Thunder @Matt thunder Probably the most underrated player on our team with the possible exception of the player below. He has an incredible 26 points while being a beast defensively.

-Roseann Petal @Psanchez55 THE most underrated player on the Aces. Petal is a revelation on the ice, with an astounding 28 points and 45 hits while also being defensively sound.

I think it's about time that these players got the recognition they deserved. Hell, Thunder and Petal are some of the leading scorers on our team and they don't get mentioned a lot. I'd also like to let @Spartan and @JigglyGumballs know that we all think you're doing a great job and we have our full trust in you. In correlation with this article, I'd like to congratulate you on acquiring these magnificent players.

The most exciting VHLM game of the season (so far)

As we move past the opening third of the season, I’d like to highlight the most exciting VHLM game of season 74 to this point (we’re currently at game 168).
Game 74 - Yukon Rush vs. Las Vegas Aces
Does the sim know that this is season 74 and that it should make game 74 special? Did the players of each of the teams sub-consciously know they should go all out for this one for that same reason? Whatever the case may be, this game was an evenly-matched back and forth battle ultimately requiring an extra shootout round to end it.
    1st Period
The game opened with Yukon registering the first 3 shots on goal. Las Vegas goalie Drew Minott @DreMin15 had their talent on fully display by making 2 quick saves from an initial shot fired by Daddy Derek @DirtyDerek and a rebound attempt by Pistil Stamen @DMaximus. Yukon’s offensive momentum was slowed by a charging penalty assessed to Fat palloon’s @UnkemptCL4PTP hit on Chris Reynolds @Crstats23. The ensuing powerplay led to nothing of note for Las Vegas, a harbinger of their poor special teams play this game.
Once 5-on-5 play resumed, Las Vegas sprang to life, scoring 3 goals in 54 seconds! The first Chris Reynolds 8 (Rhynex Entertainment 13, Gary Rush 11) at 6:48 resulted from an offensive faceoff win by Reynolds, who replaced and ejected Rhynex Entertainment @Rhynex Entertainment and a great passing sequence between 4 different Las Vegas players. Ultimately the puck landed back on Reynolds’ stick who fired it past a sprawling Yukon goalie, Kloxified @Kloxified. The second goal, Rhynex Entertainment 5 (Roseann Petal 12, Gary Rush 12) at 7:20, saw a chaotic sequence with the puck bouncing and bodies flying everywhere. Reynolds fired a shot which was blocked by Tee Pee E II @Goliathus. Rhynex Entertainment grabbed the loose puck and fired it on net. Kloxified redirected that to the corner where it was picked up by Gary Rush @G_Rush, who quickly passed it to Roseann Petal @Psanchez55in the high slot. Petal made a quick touch pass to Rhynex Entertainment on the right side of the goal, who easily fired it home into the open net. This goal was a direct result of the Aces’ hustle and strong puck movement. They showed they weren’t done yet by scoring again, Joakim Lund 3 (Its Gucci 8, Matt thunder 10) at 7:42. Yukon was obviously off-balance by the previous two goals because Vegas basically steamrolled them from the center ice faceoff until they slammed it home for their 3rd goal. All 5 Las Vegas players touched the puck with Joakim Lund @Bouncyelf picking up the puck after a Fat palloon block and sliding it into the Yukon goal.
Yukon GM @MexicanCow123 realized his team was reeling and gave a quick speech to lift their spirits. His efforts worked as Yukon came out and fired right back a Vegas, scoring their 1st goal less than 2 minutes later, Jeff Odinson 4 (Lucifer Olivier Leveque 14, Daddy Derek 6) at 9:41. The scoring play began with a Kloxified save of a Chris Reynolds shot. Yukon defenseman, Lucifer Olivier Leveque @InstantRockstar retrieved the rebound, passed it to Jeff Odinson @GoldGear88 in the neutral zone, who carried it into the Vegas end. Odinson fired a shot tipped wide by Daddy Derek. Both teams crashed the next, scrambling for the puck. Ultimately Leveque controlled it, passed it to Odinson, who fired it home for Yukon’s first goal.
Less than a minute later, Yukon was presented with a great opportunity to make it a one goal game as Aces defenseman, Chase Crosby @Wreckeningtook a penalty for hooking. Yukon was able to register 2 shots during the powerplay. Both we controlled by Minott. Credit to Rhynex Entertainment for winning 5 faceoffs during this penalty kill. That puck control and some unforced errors by Yukon kept the score at 3-1.
The period continued in a back and forth manner without either team dominating control. The Aces had a 2nd powerplay opportunity during the opening period thanks to a Nolan McNalley @Nemcnall1 hooking penalty. They fared slightly better than their first powerplay, getting 2 shots on goal. Kloxified handled both and prevented Las Vegas from having any serious scoring opportunity.
The only other note-worthy moment is the unfortunate sequence where Aces winger Nicholas Sunderbruch @NickSunderbruchtook and missed 4 shots in the sequence of 6 seconds:
19:20 of 1st period - Shot by Nicholas Sunderbruch.
19:20 of 1st period - Shot Hit the Post.
19:22 of 1st period - Shot by Nicholas Sunderbruch.
19:22 of 1st period - Shot Misses the Net.
19:24 of 1st period - Shot by Nicholas Sunderbruch.
19:24 of 1st period - Shot Misses the Net.
19:26 of 1st period - Shot by Nicholas Sunderbruch.
19:26 of 1st period - Shot Misses the Net.

Rumor has it that he secretly replaced the official puck with this:

The period ends with the Las Vegas Aces up 3-1. Shots for the period were Yukon Rush: 11 Las Vegas Aces: 13.
    2nd Period

Yukon came out fired up and it showed. They stormed down the ice, fired off 6 shots that either hit the post or missed the net, yet somehow managed to maintain control of the puck the entire time. Lucky number 7 worked in Yukon’s favor as their 7th shot taken in this sequence found its way into the back of the net bringing the score to 3-2, Pistil Stamen 3 (Muffbeav 7, Daddy Derek 7) at 0:58.
Las Vegas watched that sequence go down and said “what you can do I can do better” and reciprocated with a similar sequence of their own, rattling off 6 consecutive shots including 1 saved, 1 blocked, 3 missed, and 1 goal.  Roseann Petal 2 (Rhynex Entertainment 14, Gary Rush 13) at 4:45. 4-2 Vegas.
The remainder of the period was uneventful. Las Vegas had another shot-less powerplay from a Maksim Yakolevsky @Neptohooking penalty. Las Vegas returned the favor with Roseann Petal committing a hooking penalty of their own shortly before the end of the period. Yukon fared better on their powerplay, notching 5 shots on goal in the 2-minute span. Minott and the Aces stood strong and the score remained the same.
The period ended with Vegas leading 4-2. Shots for the period were Yukon Rush: 8 (19 for the game) Las Vegas Aces: 9 (22)

    3rd Period
As mentioned in the 2nd period summary, Yukon started this period on the powerplay which helped them start off on the right foot by aggressively attacking Las Vegas. Their attack ended with Yukon’s Jim Allen @jimmyallen93taking a slashing penalty. Vegas had their best powerplay of the night, getting 3 shots on goal. It would have been more if not for Fat palloon blocking 2 shots during the penalty kill. Las Vegas’ offensive momentum was ended by a penalty of their own, holding on Chase Crosby. Yukon had one great scoring opportunity with two quick shots on goal in succession. Minott was able to save both.
Play was relatively benign until a Chris Reynolds hooking penalty at 11:18 of the 3rd period put Yukon on the powerplay for the 4th time of the game. Vegas did well for the opening minute of the penalty kill, clearing the puck deep into the Yukon zone a couple of times. A quick breakout from Kloxified to Stamen to Odinson to Muffbeav @.sniffuMled to a great finish from Muffbeav, Muffbeav 6 (Jeff Odinson 9, Pistil Stamen ? at 12:38 (PP). Las Vegas: 4 Yukon: 3.
You could tell the tenseness in both teams as play locked up for the next couple of minutes, until, stop me if you’ve heard this before, a Las Vegas penalty (Matt thunder @Matt thunder for kneeing) led to Yukon goal. After the penalty, Stamen won the draw in the Aces end, moved the puck to Odinson, who found Bobby Wyman @Lefty_S standing near the goal. In a wild sequence, Wyman fired a couple of shots wide, his teammate Daddy Derek recovered the puck and fired a shot of his own wide, that shot was recovered by Wyman who fired another shot, this one making it past Minott and into the net to equalize the score, Bobby Wyman 3 (Daddy Derek 8, Jeff Odinson 10) at 15:28 (PP).
The tenseness continued as both teams went all out to generate offense in the last couple of minutes of regulation. Las Vegas had a great opportunity that forced a big save from Kloxified on a Nicholas Sunderbruch shot tipped by Its Gucci @frescoelmo , shortly followed by a Chris Reynolds shot hitting the post. Yukon had a strong sequence of their own with Daddy Derek firing a shot on frame saved by Minott who was unable to secure the rebound. Alek Andreshnikov @PuckPushers slammed the rebound off the post, got the puck back and was stuffed by Minott on his second attempt. That rebound fell at the feet of Bobby Wyman, who just missed the net with his attempt. All of the action caused Vegas defenseman Joakim Lund to commit a hooking penalty with less than a minute left in regulation. Yukon’s powerplay chance started with some good puck movement, but a Stamen turnover allowed the Aces to clear the puck down the ice and survive until the end of regulation.
The period ended with the score tied 4-4. Shots for the period were Yukon Rush: 14 (33) Las Vegas Aces 7 (29)
    Overtime
With just over a minute left on Lund’s penalty, Yukon started the overtime with a 4-on-3 advantage. An opening faceoff win by Rhynex Entertainment and a timely pass interception by Roseann Petal helped Vegas kill the penalty. Yukon was able to register their only shot in overtime in the waning seconds of the powerplay, a nice passing sequence ended by a solid Minott save from a Stamen shot.
From then on Las Vegas dominated the overtime frame. Holding the puck in the Rush’s end for much of the period, Vegas fired 4 shots on goal. All of the shots we saved and secured by Kloxified, not allowing any rebounds or follow up attempts.  The 5-minute overtime came and went with no scoring, which means we go to a shootout.
Score still tied at 4-4. Shots for the period, Yukon Rush: 1 (34) Las Vegas Aces: 4 (33)
    Shootout
Kloxified stopped two consecutive shots to clinch the win for the Yukon Rush.

I'm sorry for the formatting of these, we basically have no tools to format tables in the post and they didn't maintain their table integrity when I copied from Microsoft Office. Any advice for that is helpful. I feel like this is a new issue because I copy tables in my unofficial award ceremony post without issue, granted that is from google docs and not Office.

    Summary
A really fun back and forth game where both teams took control. The total attempts in the game reflected in the Corsi totals is in the top 10 of all VHLM games so far which means this was an offensively driven, back and forth, exciting game. Add to that it had an exciting overtime and a shootout going into an extra round and you have the most exciting game of the season so far.

DreMin15 got a reaction from Laine in Minner Minute Episode 10: Week of September 27, 2020
Hello everyone, and welcome back to Minner Minute. Normally I would take user questions and attempt to answer them in under a minute. But as most of you know, the show has been on an unofficial hiatus or the past month. I feel like I owe not only my readers, but also current and future teammates an explanation.

On September 2, my family was forced to evacuate our home due to the Oregon wildfires. I still made it to the games and practices, can't miss games with my new team (especially when they traded for me), but I have been spending as much time as I can with my family trying to hear from firefighters if our home still stands. We lived on a mountain, one that was blocked off by police while firefighters worked tirelessly to save the homes of us and our neighbors. It wasn't until the 14th that we were allowed back up. And thankfully our home made it. Our storage shed, however, did not. Which had most of my gear from my playing days in Houston. The only souvenirs I have from that time now are my jerseys, which I had framed. We are now moved back in, the fires are long gone and they skies are clear of smoke for the first time in nearly a month. Our wellhouse, that was shared between us and two other neighbors, was gone. So things are back to normal except for having water delivered to our tank.

I will attempt to go back to a normal schedule on this site, but I cannot guarantee anything. The stress has been great and I might not make a week or so. I apologize in advance to anyone who has expectations of me. However, I will still be making it to games. I won't let down our fans in Las Vegas.

Speaking of that, I suppose I never got to say goodbye to my fans in Houston after the trade. Thank you for accepting me and showing me how great a fanbase can be, Houston. It meant the world to me. And thank you to my teammates, for supporting me throughout both the transition and the past month. It has meant the world to me.

I will be returning to our normal scheduled Minner Minute next week. Please send in your questions for next episode. Thank you all, and have a good day.

Welcome back everyone, to another episode of Minner Minute. Here, I will attempt to answer your fan-submitted questions in a minute or less. I'm your host, Drew Minott, let's get started!

Submitted by User: SkyHye: Hey Minner, this season has obviously been siginifigantly better than last season. What do you feel has changed in order for the team to find success this season?

Well I feel the answer to this is fairly obvious. We've thrown together an amazing group of people this season. Not to discount the folks from last year, but you can't argue that the team from last year is better than this year's. We just didn't have the numbers or talent last year to put up a fight. This year, however, we've added almost an entire team to our roster, with mostly Knighty, Grapey, and myself being the ones that were leftover from the dismantling of last year's team. I feel that this year's team not only has the skill, but has the personalities to find success.

Submitted by User: WikiFiki: Hey Minner, in your off time, what kinds of things do you like to do?

Well, I'm a bit of a nerd. I like to play a lot of video games, I like to read, and I like to write. I'm kind of a weeb, though to be fair half our team is. I've been playing Civ6 on my laptop when we're on the road, and when I'm home I'll play games like Persona 5, SCP: Secret Lab, and Rust. I also enjoy cooking a lot, I've actually received culinary training back in my highshool days and want to open a restaurant after my playing days are over.

Thank you for coming to this week's episode. I'm glad that you decided to join me this week. Leave some questions down below for next week's episode, and goodbye!
