I opened this notification expecting it to say something along the lines of "I know, that's why I picked it" - finding out that at the time, you genuinely had no idea who he was, that just makes it better. Guy had so many knee issues it was surprising he could even finish out his time at Oklahoma (although it's a little easier when your running back is Adrian Peterson) but it's still just weird to think of him going from Heisman to no NFL.

I've never used my real name for a player, but it is my GM/Builder name. Two of my players have been from TV shows (Clark Marcellin from Tilt, Evan R. Lawson from Royal Pains), one was a generated name from a soccer game I used to play (Xperteleven - Kerkko Hyvarinen was my star centerback for years), and the rest have mostly just been names I liked, although perhaps with minor references here and there (Vaclav Hrdina was theoretically the son of Jan Hrdina, old former Pens center - Martin Brookside was a reference to Brookside chocolates, which were chocolate covered blueberries, cranberries, and pomegranate bits that were big at the time - Lars Intranquilo was a reference to Tranquilo Barnetta the soccer player, with a pun about the meaning of the word "tranquil" and how Intranquilo was anything but tranquil, hence the In- suffix).
