  1. Maksim Yakolevsky, the Season 74 33rd overall pick, has reached his final season in the VHL, with his mandatory retirement coming up as the season ends. It has to be said that Yakolevsky had not been particulary succesful during his career. As a late bloomer it would take him 3 seasons with four different teams in the VHLM to reach the big league, where his rights were acquired by the London United a couple seasons prior. He barely saw any ice-time during his "rookie" season as was shipped off the following season, as Londons cap became tighter with the acquisition of difference makers. Instead, Yakolevsky found a new home in DC with the Dragons, which he would not leave for the remainder of his career. He would help the Dragons make the playoffs in 3 out of his 5 total seasons there, but unfortunately they never were able to make it all the way. "It has been a long career, hasn't it? To be honest, its about time that I hang them up for good. When I was growing up, all I could think of was hockey, I truly wanted to become a star that could compete with the best of them. Now after several years of the grind that is professional hockey, I have to say that all that passion is gone. At some point you are just dragging yourself through week by week. Now, I dont want to complain. I made a nice fortune over the years by "just playing", but in the end of the day it turned my hobby into my job and I grew to dislike it. You won't see myself back in the scene, at least for the foreseeable future."
  2. “Sometimes things are not great, but decent enough that you are still happy. I guess that is the most fitting description of my current situation.” This was Maksim Yakolevskys answer, when a reporter recently asked him about the state of the D.C. Dragons. Yakolevsky, who had arrived more than two seasons ago, had helped the team to the VHL playoffs during Season 78, continuing on his solid, but not head turning performances in the major league. But throughout the offseason it became apparent, that his best days were already past him. Maksim looked tired throughout the training camp and further reinforced this impression so far this season. “You know, I have played this game since I was 8 years old and always saw me playing it for at least 25 years. But my years in the professional scene are starting to mount and so does the toll on my body. I have tried my best to preserve my health, but in the end we are putting in a an insane workload to get to this level and maintain it for a while. Lets see how far I might be able to push it before my body starts to fall apart.”
  3. We caught up with DC Dragons Maksim Yakolevsky after the Dragons had just ended their regular season with a loss to the Seattle Bears. Yakolevsky had arrived in DC after having parted ways with the London United where he had spent his first season in the pros. “The offseason was quite chaotic, that’s for sure. I enjoyed being in London, but I knew that due to my limitations as a player I would be the first one to go if the cap got close. Well it happened, but I somehow got “traded” to Moscow despite being a free agent….of sorts? Then did not get signed there and thankfully landed here in DC.” Throughout the season, Yakolevsky showed some improvement, but still leaves a lot to be desired. “Honestly, if you ask me if I provided positive value to the team then I would not know what to answer you. I am not a huge voice in the locker room, I am neither the most talented nor the most hardworking guy on the team. I guess if the GM wants me to stick around that speaks for itself? But I don’t know how much value I will be able to provide before my time is up.”
  4. We caught up with the San Diego Marlins Maksim Yakolevsky in which has been a turbulent season for him so far. The Wingman is currently scheduled to join the VHLs London United after the current season has concluded, making this his last run in the VHLM playoffs. Yakolevsky is no stranger to the playoffs, having already participated in the S73 Playoffs with the Las Vegas Aces and the S74 with the Yukon Rush. But at the beginning of S75 he seemingly fell out of favor with the Rush management, seeing his minutes as well as his production plummet in the process. After a short, but gruesome stint with the Ottawa Lynx, where his only ray of light was his four goal game against the Aces, he was picked up by the Marlins. In San Diego, he would rise again as one of the best scorers in the league, helping the Marlins in their seasonlong rise towards the top of the standings. “It’s honestly been a blessing to play in San Diego. I felt at home in the locker room from Day 1 and couldn’t wish to be in a better situation. Now all there is left is to win this years championship.”
  5. 1. SInce I am only semi-active here and just started the first player, I got no clue what to write about a recreate 2. Again, not much knowledge on hockey or the sim engine, so I do not really know what to say 3. Whatever you guys want to play honestly. Just have fun with your own players, thats what sim league are about 4. Burritos are filling up way better 5. I would bring @fonziGG . Either he protects me or I can run away while he gets chewed up 6. Oilers, but thats because they got the only german player I know on the team
  6. 1. We got a good team chemistry and it carries over to our earning. Also that dipshit called fonzi and Spartan knew me from other leagues so they knew what I was about. 2. It will be very close. I think we can put up a good fight against everyone and so do most of the playoff teams 3. Give me 10,000 rats, who the fuck could kill them all before they get swarmed. On top of that, the 5 gorillas. Who wants to mess with a Silverback? Noone wants that, not even a bear. 4. Havent played both in months, beside the differing region. 5. Less money for a cup, though I am more about a chill squad than money or winning. 6. Getting to call @fonziGG dipshit as many times as I want to.
  7. Thanks! Just got no idea what to upgrade but I guess the coaches will help out there.
