Thanks for the talks @Frank welcome to Chicago @Frank
  3. Red Gaming and Baby Bob have both been excellent surprises this season. Very impressed with them. As of this Bob is now in third but I definitely think he could take the lead before seasons end - the guy has been on fire. I do not think I believe in it but I love it as a genre for a show/movie. I think the number of teams the NHL is currently sitting at is very good. They even have some teams they could look to relocate before they decide to expand at all. I'm not sure I have a good answer for this one. I think the VHLE system has some fairly major flaws but both leagues also have their merits. I am a huge fan of spicy food. I could absolutely crush some hot wings right now.

  5. S84 Chicago Phoenix Team Captains The Chicago Phoenix have reached a new point in our rebuild where we are finally looking to become true contenders. Taking such a young team to the playoffs, which I'm not sure anyone in the league expected, and even having some playoff success took great leadership from our group of captains and for that reason we will be running it back with the same group. Please welcome your returning Chicago Phoenix team captains! Team Captain: Bo Johansson @Shindigs Alternate Captain: The Board Game Clue On Skates @MubbleFubbles Alternate Captain: Scotty Sundin @fromtheinside After last season's tremendous success I could not be happier to welcome these three back as our team leaders.
  6. Heh this one is on me. I saw the notification like five minutes after you picked and thought to myself 'I'll think about this and come back to it in a bit', oops. D - Erlantz Jokinen F - Baby Bob

Too bad that team didn’t accept an ultimatum from a team that had to move a player.

Hey @Baby Boomer welcome to Chicago! I accepted this while away on a trip so I couldn’t give you a proper welcome but I’m super glad we could add you to the squad. Hoping to do big things over the next few seasons here.
  14. @youloser1337can you add me to the ping list? I should start doing this stuff.
  15. Getting drafted into the VHLM should be fun - can't wait to go through the draft process as a player for the first time in a VERY long time. From a general managers perspective I really liked it. It was fun to watch players come up with different builds rather than the same old with the old system. Should be fun to see it evolve. Miss Vickie's Jalapeno is probably my favourite of all-time. So good. 1. Let's say you get asked to play one song at a party - which song are you choosing? 2. What is your favourite part of the VHL off-season? How about your least favourite? 3. If you had to choose one team that you think will win the championship in the VHL next season who would it be?
  16. Karl Pedersen Speaks on Junior Showcase, Potential Move to North America Karl Pedersen is a new on the block prospect who is making some waves in the VHL scouting circles. Originally Pedersen was not planning on making the jump over to the VHL and was hoping to play in some exclusively European hockey leagues but when he was selected, rather unexpectedly, to play in the Junior Showcase tournament he started to pop up on scouts draft boards across the VHL and its affiliated leagues. The imposing Danish goaltender, measuring in at a hefty 6’5 and 233 lbs., played a very solid Junior Showcase tournament on his way to leading the team to a fourth place finish. While he almost certainly would have liked to have had a better result he had the following to say about the experience. ‘It was really great to get exposed to that level of competition within the Junior Showcase Tournament. It truly is the best of the best when it comes to young hockey talent and I think playing in it has definitely opened up some opportunities down the line. I’ve had some scouts coming to my practices and some teams in the VHLM and VHLE have reached out to me. It is definitely an exciting time for me.’ Pedersen has played many games for the Danish Junior National team While many scouts are saying that Pedersen is a very raw prospect they are excited to see what he can do when he makes the jump over to the VHLM next year. As it currently stands there are a couple of other top end goaltending prospects, in Matt Murdock and Henry Tucker Jr., that will be vying to be high picks next season. From there it is up to whichever team selects Pedersen to turn his raw talent into something more polished and VHL ready. ‘I cannot wait to get onto a team and get into their training facilities.’ Pedersen said when asked about where he could possibly end up. ‘Here is Denmark hockey definitely has some interest but it is obviously at a completely different level once you can get into those pro level training programs. I don’t really have any preference on where I would like to end up in the VHLM but I am very excited about making the move over to North America. I’ve never been over there and while it won’t be the best being separated from my family I know that if I can make the VHL my family will be very well taken care of.’ As it currently stands Pedersen is looking like a possible top five pick but has some tough competition ahead of him. On the official TSN rankings they have him currently ranked as the seventh best prospect and the third best goalie. While goalies have been in very high demand within the VHL in recent times there is quite a crop of young netminders coming through the rankings that are looking to make an impact on the league sooner rather than later, and Pedersen may need to step up his game if he wants to be considered one of those types of prospects. Be sure to tune in to the VHL, VHLE and VHLM entry drafts which should all be happening this week if you want to see where Karl Pedersen, as well as many other top prospects, will start their rise to the top of the VHL.
