  11. Michael Fletcher’s official statement on joining Prague today after a rough offseason: It’s official and honestly, I’m happy to be in Prague. I’ve learned a little bit about the league now and I’m super excited to try and bring a cup to here in a few seasons. I like the people there, Doom, Gobeil, brock, the GM diamond are really chill. I’m excited to be in a place where I have a chance to play one day and maybe be a starter. Right now my plan is to continue to focus on the VHLM and Saskatoon where we can hopefully win a championship to. I’ve been working on my player and am super excited for this upcoming season. I think I have a real chance to be a top goalie in the minors this season and help compete. I’m lookin forward to building chemistry with my teammates and just vibing throughout the season.
  12. 1. You guys did Gucci. Thanks for taking Dragon 2. All the goalies falling, like that was pissin me off though lol 3. I did and we all saw how that went 4. Size. I guess that's important for the engine thingy. 5. Haven't moved up yet, still in San Diego. I'm gonna miss the beaches. Do they got beaches? 6. Chicken and Feta cheese pizza. You have to try it.
  13. On Chicago/Prague: After a long offseason I was finally drafted first in the VHLM draft to Saskatoon and then that Monday to the Chicago Phoenix. I had, had conversations with a few teams both major and minor about what I would be doing and what my future would look like. I spoke with friends in the league about which teams would fit me and what they thought me going to SSK and I was happy to be a part of the franchise. We can’t always find the perfect fit though and Chicago and me just didn’t mesh. I wasn’t really approached by anyone there and honestly, after speaking with the gm I wasn’t comforted by the strategy which is why I asked for a trade. It is my hope that there are no hard feeling from them and one day I’d maybe like to return under different circumstances. It was important to me that I’m getting a chance to play in a more certain future and that has led me to Prague. Thank you diamond for trading for me and I hope to give your franchise the boost into the future that wins cups. On Leaving the SWHL to Return: I liked doing that stuff but it was hard to get it put together so I’m glad to be back to doing VHL stuff. On the VHLM Season: My goal is to win the cup in the VHLM before @IamMoose does. I think saskatoon is a really great team with cool people in the lockeroom and together we got this. I’ll be in a position to win and maybe compete for some trophies and that’s pretty dope.
  14. As the draft approaches I am starting to realize that Moose & Rockstar may not be able to get me in this draft. While I’m sad about this, I have decided to really give effort to keep playing beyond what my original plans were for the VHL. I want to thank Moose/Rockstar for the time they gave me in San Diego. I know we didn’t win a lot but we tried. For those looking in the draft for a goalie I have this to say. I’m a hard worker, I may not always get the max amount of points but I try my best to do as many as I can. I love being a goalie and want to be a starter. I may not be on Discord much but I’m still active and want to play for a team that’s chill. My stats aren’t great from last season but I still think I can be a top goalie here. You want Dragon, get Dragon and I’ll make you famous.
  15. Michael Fletcher has opened the SWHL on fire, posting a 4-0-1 record with a 1.80 Goals Against Average and 1 Shutout. His Bakersfield Barons are in sole possession of first in their conference and sit second in the league behind Fresno. Fletcher also boasts 2 assists on the season, an added utility that has helped Bakersfield get going on the rush, something they lacked the previous season. In his first outing, Fletcher was able to pick up a hard fought win versus the Henderson Lions in a 3-2 game where Fletcher saw 17 third period shots, stopping 16 of those and holding on for the victory. He was easily the first star after that period alone, and while the Barons were able to secure three goals, they struggled to maintain possession for much of the contest. His second outing was much better for the team, outshooting the Crush (Santa Ana) 25-6 in the final two periods of play and collecting a 4-0 victory, Fletcher’s first shutout in the league. He followed that up with another strong win, but a little rough on the scoresheet, surrounding 3 goals in 5-3 win versus Riverside and bringing him a 3-0 start to his SWHL career. Thr run would end there however as he would drop the next game 4-3 in a shootout to the Scottsdale Suns. In the fourth and as many games of the season for Fletcher, the Scottsdale Suns rolled in and put up 2 goals in the first ten minutes of the game. While Bakersfield managed to respond, even going up 3-2 with 11:06 in the third, it was a well-placed shot that beat Fletcher with 3:00 to go in the third to tie it up. In what was Fletcher’s worst game in the SWHL thus far, he did manage to keep the net clear for overtime but gave up the critical goal in round seven of the shootout to end the Baron’s run at three. Following the loss, was a back-to-back night with the second half behind Scottsdale being Tucson. Tucson scored early, putting them up 1-0 for majority of the game but Fletcher’s game would solidify there and the bleeding would end as Bakersfield rounded up the next 4 goals to win 4-1. Fletcher had an easy night following the first period and after 5 games is sitting comfortably as a top goalie in the SWHL. Fletcher would go on to talk about not only his first five games for the Barons but also the draft and his focus for next season. “I’ve spoken with a few [GMs] about the draft. You try your best to focus on the games in front of you but it’s difficult. I want to give a team the best chance to win and I’m focused on building towards that.” “I’m happy with the start here. We’ve got 9 out of 10 points so that’s the right way to play. These guys are at a level where you hope to get that game experience from them and we have so far. It’s a good group and I think we can go far.”

  20. After a tough year in San Diego, Michael Fletcher will spend his offseason in SWHL as a member of the Bakersfield Barons. He officially signed on and will play in likely a starting role with the squad as they look to bounce back from a tough season as well. The second-year league will play forty games and will conclude with a eight team playoff featuring the top four teams from each conference. “It felt right to me. I spoke a lot with him [Moose] about it and he thought it would be a good way to shake off the stink from this season. There’s plenty of offseason project leagues that guys in the VHL go to when they have time and I figured I’d find mine as well. This just felt like the right move and we’ll see where it goes. I know the draft is coming and I’ll be watching what these guys do in the postseason but right now I’ve gotta be better so I can avoid a repeat of what’s happened this year.” Fletcher finished the VHLM season with only nine wins and was third worst in goals against average. He played a on a very talent deprived Marlins squad this season, being left to die on many occasions but still picked up some quality wins and three shutouts on the year. His play was visibly better towards the end of the season as a more functioning team was put around him, though they were unable to do much to climb out of the hole the season brought. Fletcher had this to say about his time in San Diego and a possible return in the Dispersal Draft, “I’d love to come back. Moose and I have been friends for twenty years or so and I’d love to come back and give him a chance to win if he’d have me. I know this was a bad year and he told me as much before I signed in San Diego so I knew a little bit of what to expect. Admittedly I thought more would come during the season but I’m just chilling, it doesn’t bother me. I honestly don’t know where I’d go if not San Diego. No one knows me and I don’t use discord enough. So I worry I won’t get to play.” Fletcher and the Bakersfield Barons will begin their regular season on Friday and will matchup with defending champions in Glendale first. They will have a roster of fifteen. Fletcher when asked about winning a championship in the SWHL had this to say, “It’d be cool. It’s a small league but anytime you win it’s nice. I just want to get better. I know it’s not the most fun answer but I’d like to get better so I’m a bigger threat in the pipes for the VHLM next season. So I’m just finding ways to do that. I know that the league is different and more unofficial but it’s content for me to deliver and get more out of my player.”
  21. Michael Fletcher - G - 6'0 191lbs. OVERVIEW Michael Fletcher was born in Detroit, Michigan and has played goaltender on and off since he was 10 years old. At just about 6’0 and 182 lbs, Fletcher is an average to small frame goaltender who relies heavily on great rebound control to keep his team in games. He is considered a Hybrid/Stand-Up style goaltender and uses that old school style to throw off opponents as well. He is a 1x champion in his adult league of Fraserland Hockey and joined the VHL following two years away from the sport. JUNIOR YEARS Michael Fletcher began playing hockey with best friend Kevin King as a youth. Fletcher, not being the same level of passion for hockey as King was always a great goaltender but lacked the consistency to keep playing, often taking long periods away from hockey. As a member of The Crush during his youth, Fletcher recorded over 30 wins and was a player of the week twice and nomination eight times. Fletcher would take time away from hockey, becoming a football player in middle school and high school as he played three seasons with the Oakwood Owls as a linebacker/receiver, recording 7 sacks in his second and most productive season. He would help lead the Owls to a championship game but ultimately fell short in the endeavor. After almost four years away from hockey, Fletcher returned to the game, playing 3 seasons with the Flint Freezers and even bringin Kevin King back to hockey. They would come short in their first season bid to win a championship, and Fletcher would take time away from hockey to heal an injury to his back but returned for two straight title wins before King would announce his intentions to join the VHL. Fletcher would again leave hockey to pursue other interests. LIFE OUTSIDE HOCKEY Fletcher would prosper in a life outside hockey, pursuing passions as a streamer, occasionally competing in gaming tournaments, and helping produce music for young stars on social media. Fletcher would leave Michigan, purchasing a home in South Beach, Florida where he would begin work on a production studio for music and arts. Unfortunately, the project failed to recover following the hurricane and he was forced to relocate back home to Michigan, where he instead, would begin work on his rebuilding his vision. DECISION TO JOIN THE VHL Fletcher has said he hopes to use his career in hockey to help facilitate his passion in music. Fletcher joined the VHL and was signed by Kevin King of the San Diego Marlins to be their starting goaltender for the 74th season of the VHLM. Fletcher made the decision to go to the VHL/VHLM after discussing it at length with King over several seasons and made the jump just before the start of the season. It’s said Fletcher plans to play a full VHLM/VHL career to earn enough money to help open his studio so he has that prepared for post-hockey life. “Music is a passion for me. It’s where I want to be, I like hockey don’t get me wrong, but music is the ultimate goal.” PERSONAL LIFE Michael currently resides near Detroit, MI and is as of this writing unmarried. Fletcher has said he hopes to maybe one day have kids and settle down in a long career as a producer. He normally wears #63 as a nod to his middle school football and wrestling. He has one sister and a cousin who also plays goalie but is not affiliated with the VHL. Fletcher is a big supporter of marijuana and is very outspoken on its benefits and legalization worldwide.
