  1. 1. I just think the sim is being unlucky to us. Just stay strong and it will go our way eventually. 2. I’m excited for the VHLE to start and see how smoothly things go, and to have another level of prospects coming into the league. 3. Uh maybe Warsaw because they good. 4. Definitely the assistant coach (lmao) 5. I like the violin. I think it sounds amazing. 6. Well, I do them, but if it is wasting too much time doing them and you feel you could be doing something better, then don’t do them.
  2. So, VHL’s 14th birthday! In honor of that (and 14 extra TPE), I will be writing my updated journey through the one and only VHL hockey simulator (because there are other VHL like some random Spanish thing) I started off this journey through a discord Rock Paper Scissors server I was in. One of the members invited me to the VHL server, where I made a player and got drafted by the Philadelphia Reapers in the S75 VHLM draft. I didn’t do a whole lot that season, but our squad of lots of 250 TPE players drove us to the finals. After all of those people graduated, it was a hard fought season. We went into the playoffs spirits high, but left either first or second round in the playoffs. As I mentioned the first time, I went a long time inactive, and Dmax helped me become more active (thank you so much Dmax again). This was also the season that I got selected by the Chicago Phoenix in the S76 VHL draft. I got traded to the Miami Marauders for a goalie because Dmax wanted me to be on a cup contender team right after S77 began (again thank you). That season was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. Right when I got to the team, I started earning more TPE, but the team was constantly losing by one goal or in OT or SO. It was obvious we had the makings of a team that could definitely win the cup. Eventually, good luck came to us and we became the best VHLM team for the last half of the season or so, ending up 2nd right behind the Hounds. The playoffs was even more emotional. A very close 7 game series vs the Marlins, a three assist game by yours truly led us to round two. We made quick work of the rest of the playoffs from a sweep the rest of the rounds. I got 250 TPE near the very end of the season, so when I got to the big leagues, I had almost exactly 250 TPE and facing people with 1,000 TPE. It wasn’t a very good starting season, with less than 10 points, and close to no goals (if I got one I don’t really know). Our team was very supportive in the locker room, and helped for a easy transition. My teammates have good humor and are fun to talk with (too many 420 jokes though, seriously). We made a good run in the regular season sharing 1st place spots with the eventual winners: Warsaw. I also just singed to play 1 more season with Chicago. I think this has been an amazing experience for me, and I hope to continue until I either can’t from school or because I get bored (which would be a long time!) Thank you for sticking with my story, and thanks to all who have helped me or played with me along the way! Cya around guys! (Yes, the entire story before this line was exactly 500 words)
  3. Well, first season over. Here are my overall thoughts about how my rookie season went. So, going up from the VHLM to the VHL was pretty hard at first. The difference in TPE is so much. You are with people with 1k TPE after being the top with 250. Getting a point is pretty lucky rookie season. (unless you are good just for me) The VHL locker room was also very different than the VHLM one, but the Chicago LC was nice and encouraging (but too many 420 jokes, cmon guys). I fit in nicely with the team, and I’m very happy here in Chicago. If you are a rookie and have questions, just ask the team. Most likely, they will either know or ask a more experienced member that will almost one hundred percent know the answer to your question. Being on the co-first place team, it was obviously a good season for the team. Sometimes the sim just doesn’t go your way, like vs the Bears in the playoffs. Being in an amazing team, you don’t get many chances and you play a support role. Just roll with the punches, earn TPE, and put more into your player. It is also a good idea to stay positive. Try to hype your team up and create a place where the team can succeed. You should also ask the more experienced players to help you with the path your player will take, as some paths are infinitely better than others. (Like me upgrading passing instead of shooting) The first season is just your transition year. Enjoy it, learn about the league, and earn your TPE. (Like I’m making 5 right now) You need to be earning as much as possible to stay on par with all of the young talent in this league and to make you that extra moolah. Learn from your experienced players. Ask them how the VHL works, ask how to be successful in the VHL, because they have been in the league a lot longer than you and know what works and what doesn’t. I can’t stress that enough ASK QUESTIONS. It’s a good way to be on your way to become a successful player and to build a relationship with your teammates. I personally don’t know everything about the VHL, so I should probably do that too. That’s all folks, I’ll be writing a media spot soon. Cya!
  4. 1. I would want to see a young player with good growth to become a Chicago player. I don’t really have specifics. 2. I think we just have to fill in the TPE holes with TPE made back from those players, or maybe other players stepping up and taking a bigger role than last season. 3. COVID-19 has taught me that family is very important. It has also taught me about how unsanitary we are as humans. Like COVID only spread because we weren’t getting the germs off early. 4. I would want the jerseys to be a red and orange fire background with the golden beautiful Phoenix in the middle. 5. If I had to chose last season, I would rather go into the VHLE because it is just a better transition and the TPE jump is far less. 6. If I was GM I wouldn’t really change anything. We got a nice squad that definitely could’ve won the championship, but if I was forced to, maybe just some players with the positions that we need some fortifications in.
  5. 1. The series against the Bears just felt awful. A sweep never feels good and we had so many close games, you just felt it easily could’ve went differently if the sim was nicer to us. 2. I do! As a matter of fact I’m in Chicago (funny) right now. 3. I think we just need to grind that TPE back for the some people that will get the TPE decline some seasons and just improve our players like a regular season, just slowly get better (or fast). 4. I really don’t know the way the draft works in the VHL, and I didn’t pay attention to the lower half of the standings (because we weren’t there), but imma guess just the last place team in the standings. 5. Team MVP would definitely be Lee Xin. That player popped off so hard this season. At one point, he was top 6 in all categories (literally just looking at our LC lol). But he did really well this season and pushed our team to Co leaders at the end of the season. 6. I like the idea of the VHLE, and the teams and logos, I like them. I would never consider GMing any of them, I wouldn’t have the time to GM and also, I feel I would rather actually be on one of the teams then GM. One of the worst problems from VHLM to VHL is the difference in TPE and TPA. I go from maxed out player, top prospect, destroying the competition, to literally happy if I get 5 points a season. It is good when you look at our team. Being experienced and good TPE make the team better, but I think there should’ve been a league in the middle earlier. (But ty commissioners of the league)
  6. So, this is basically a journey of me throughout the league. Maybe this is self-centered, but I have nothing else to write about. So, I'm in a discord league, the Rock Paper Scissors one, where someone tells me about a cool hockey league. I accept this new invite because why not. So I ask him a bajillion questions about starting up, doing PTs, whatever. I then make my player (spend some TPE on fighting because I'm stupid), and get drafted by the Philadelphia Reapers, and end up winning the cup the first season. My first season was very uneventful, as I was pretty inactive, and just went along for the chip ride. Next season, a lot of our players graduated, and we are left with a solid young squad that can be good in the future. In my second year with the Reapers, I had an inactive streak of just over 2 weeks, and almost got dropped. We lost early in the playoffs, and I was sad, probably because I'm overly competitive and not repeating is a little sad, no matter what team you are. Right after my third season in the VHLM, DMax, my GM, asked if it was ok to trade me to a title contender. I reluctantly said yes, but it was sad leaving my original team that took a chance on me. Now, I want to take a break and talk about DMax. He is an amazing person that really helped me get where I am today. One of the channels in his discord, is a building guide, and tells you where you need to be to become a good, solid VHLM player. I mainly based my build around that in the early days, and DMax got me motivated when I was down, brought the good times to even better times. When I had my over 2 weeks of inactivity, not even clicking two buttons to claim practice and welfare, we just calmly asked for me to do those, as I would have to get dropped otherwise. He didn't get mad, just asked for me to do it. I want to say thank you Dmax, for all you have done for me and other player who were on the VHLM Reapers. Now, my one season in Miami. Wow, this was a crazy season. I come into Miami, a team that is well suited for a deep playoff run. In the middle of the season, the sims were just not going our way. We often lost by one or in OT or SO. Those were the bad times. Rockstar and Tina, the GM and AGM were very positive throughout this time, and I later realized that Rockstar's wife was in the later stages of pregnancy this entire season, and I thank Rockstar for helping managing a team while going through this. We re-adjusted the lines, but the main game changer early in the season for me was a junior review of all of the VHL team's VHLM players. Going into S3 of my VHLM career, I was pretty bad TPE wise, and MattyIce said, "Sportsboy57 is progressing slowly, so he could be called up to the VHL in S79." This for some reason set me off, and I became determined to grind TPE, and get called up as fast as I could. I then did Trivia and PCs every week as well as practice and welfare. (not much but an upgrade for me) After our bad luck, we went on an absolute TEAR. At this time, we were best in the league, putting up W10s and W8s for streaks often. By then end of the season, we had over 100 points. We had a playoff opening series game 7, where I had a 3 assist breakout game to help us win. After that, we steamrolled everyone else, including the regular season best team Mississauga. It happened, we really won, but my story isn't done here, no no no. After this season, I got on the WJC USA team. A big shock for me, but I knew then and there I was a good prospect. The WJC went ok for USA. We weren't supposed to be good, but we got 4th, so close for getting that bronze. Here I would like to say thank you to Rockstar and Tina for the wonderful season I had in Miami. You guys were really great, posting the PCs, and staying with us when it was getting tough. I was with you guys just under a season, and I can tell you guys are really great people and GMs. Now, finally we are near the present, getting called up to the VHL. It was a happy experience, to know that my time in the little leagues are done, time to aim for the big prize now. So far, I am on a thriving Chicago Phoenix team, with funny people and a good GM. The transition is very hard though. I went from having the most TPE possible to almost the least, and having people with 1k TPE on my team is great, but it just shows how the challenge will be ahead of me. No one will really see this so this is more like a time capsule for myself, to remind myself of the VHLM days and the early challenges of VHL. I hope I continue my pace, and become an asset for any team, but for now. GOOOOO PHOENIX.
  7. 1. Just ride it out, or if you are feeling lucky, mess with the lines a little. In Miami (VHLM) last szn, same thing happened, and after we rode out the bumps, we were the best team in the VHLM. 2. If you mean league by VHL I can’t be newer, if you mean any league then I would say to keep steadily earning TPE, and to keep your DF up high. 3. I would want whatever the community wants, I just joined in S75, I have no idea what to really do at all. (I’m only going 3 questions this time because I have no idea for the last 3 for what to put there)
  8. me wamt to be able to get that sweet tpe (I'm saying add lol)
  9. 1. I don’t watch NHL and I’m like 99% sure the Kings aren’t in the playoffs so idrc. 2. I am good at playing the board game (and I guess app but I don’t have it) RISK. 3. That would be myself 100%. I would be the guy to bet against myself then lose. 4. I call the police because I’m under 21. 5. I have been in the LC and the team for like less than a day so I wouldn’t know. 6. It’s definitely Chicago every winter (no joke)
  10. Don’t know if I’m supposed to do this but congrats to all of you drafted, and hopefully you all can repeat!
  11. 1. The thing that surprised me the most was that we went into a game 7 in the first round! 2. For me, it would be wild. Mostly because of the shift from a bottom team to a chip contender. (The trade from Philly ofc) 3. For me, it is Alexander the Great. I haven’t payed to much attention, but almost every game I see him on the 3 stars. 4. I am good with a retool as a fan, because I too am graduating! Keep going, and you will get that next Founders Cup win! 5. Mine would be electricity, so much of everyone’s life now. 6. I’m spending my Mother’s Day going to a baseball practice, and then spending time with family. P.S: Guys, it was a wild ride, but I’m glad I got to spend most of my final season with this S77 Marauder team! I look forward to seeing you all in the VHL. Farewell guys!
  12. 1. I feel especially after this week’s 6 TPE tomorrow, we will surge forward and carry our momentum forward, especially if Hounds lose out. 2. I would rather play 21st because Hounds were dominant in the regular season, too dominant. If I remember correctly, we won a better ratio vs 21st than vs Hounds, so should be a nice matchup. 3. I think Mashy has been tearing it up, but in the playoffs, I think I have been putting up a dominant performance, with my passing build showing off what it can do. (t Also I scored 3 assists at game 7 just saying) 4. I can take this experience into VHL and a user in this league by knowing that an early season underdog doesn’t have to stay that way. Earlier in the season, no one thought we would be in contention for even being in the finals, but here we are, sweeping 4-0 in the semifinals, and taking the first finals spot. 5. I don’t really watch TV that much, so I can’t tell you. 6. Of course, I love fast food, especially that sweet and only in the west In-N-Out we have.
  13. 1. I think our series vs. the Marlins is going to go well, as our regular season record vs them points at. I do think we will need to stay strong though, bigger upsets have happened. 2. I think it is either cup or lose to the Hounds. We have proven we can beat them, and if we can, this is truly cup. 3. HELL YEAH! Of course we can, playoffs don't change us or the other team, we will keep dominating. 4. I don't really know any team's roster, but if we can keep them from scoring, that would be great. 5. I haven't had olives in a LONG time, but when I did, they were ok. 6. Not right now, I know I will prob be ok, but right now I don't want to take the risk. It looks fun though.
