  1. @JardyB10@BladeMaidenThank you for the mention and the podcast in general, I enjoyed listening to it! I feel like some people assumed my intention was to tank my value for whatever reason. Considering I know maybe 4 people on this entire site, I'm not sure what lowering my value would have possibly done. Though I will say it was interesting to see who replied and how they replied, puts into perspective how the "best people" club is ran in VHLM. This right here "League expectations and behaviors codes for players looks like" is so dumb, I just can't... I'm sorry that I didn't sit on my hands and not make a statement about it? Going to my GM or my MIA AGM would have done what exactly? Got me traded? Sweet, does that solve the dead locker room? Does that solve locker rooms not welcoming new players? Btw the answer to both of those questions is a very hard NO. Instead I took my issues public and hey I got a discussion going about MIA locker rooms. Sorry that didn't follow your players code
  2. April 9, 2021. The Houston Bulls came into this season with almost a new lineup. The team of old, dominate, cup contenders all long gone. To the big leagues of the VHL. Players left behind? About 3. Germano Henchoz, one of the last players to return for his final season in the VHLM. We caught up with him to see how he's been handling such a drastic roster and culture change. Interviewer: Germano thank you for speaking with us today, I know the Bulls this season have gone very under the radar and haven't really done many interviews this season. Germano: Oh its no problem, I always love talking to the media when I have the chance. unfortunately this season has been hard due to internal reasons. But I'm not one to air dirty laundry. Interviewer: Could you perhaps give us a tiny bit of info on the inside of Houston this season? Nothing too crazy, just enough for the fans to see the behind the scenes? Germano: Ahhhh I mean I'm not sure its my place, but ehhhh why not. Our locker room is pretty much a wasteland. No one talks to each other, seems like we just show up to our games, either win or lose then everyone goes back to their own social groups. I recall going out to a team dinner once with the team, and that was just to welcome all the new players in. I don't even know whose our captain this season. At least last season when a new player not in the "clique" talked and was ignored, we at least we're gunning for a cup. This season seems like no one speaks to each other at all. Interviewer: Wow that seems like a pretty toxic environment! Do you think the blame should fall on the entire team? Or perhaps something else. Germano: I mean, of course you can blame the players as a whole. But honestly, Id put most of the blame on the management team here in Houston. RJ seems like an okay guy, but I think I've talked to him once in the last 2 seasons I've been here. Hex hasn't shown up in weeks, I'm pretty sure his office is just storage for old electronics now. We have someone named Venus? I think, I don't really know. I believe they are helping and trying to do their best to keep things together, but that's a pretty lofty goal at this point. Interviewer: Well Germano, it seems like you got a lot off your chest here, perhaps we can switch topics to your personal stats? Or perhaps what it means to play infront of the Houston faithful. Germano: Honestly the Houston fans have been nothing but love since arriving here. They've been the only people that have shown love through highs and lows. And without their support, I wouldn't have been able to survive here as long as I have. My point totals this season have all been because of the support they've given me this season. Without them, I'm sure Id be stuck on the 3rd line again, leading the way in certain stat categories, especially in the playoffs where I felt I should've been given way more playing time. But that's a story for another day. Interviewer: That's weird Germano, it almost sounds like this is some sort of goodbye to the fans here in Houston? We know next season DC will be calling you up, but surely you'll be finishing your season here in Houston right? Germano: I would like to be traded, yeah. Tough as it is to come to that conclusion there's no other alternative, you know? Interviewer: Wow! That seems like such a 180. Is there anything the Bulls could do to change your mind? No, I just want them to do the right thing. Well not the interview we we're expecting here with Germano, but uh thank you for tuning in. 658 words, good for 1 week. @Hex Universe @rjfryman
  3. Hello and welcome to the latest edition of Going Deep, I'm your host and NUMBER 1! VHL and VHLM report Billy Bonkers. I sat down with start prospect Kristof Welch of the Toronto Legion. And by sat down, I mean I found him in a bar, don't worry about it. Anyways, enjoy! (1729 words) Bonkers: Before we get this interview started Mr Welch, why don't you tell the audience a little bit about yourself. Welch:For sure, Mr. Bonker! I'm Kristof Welch, a newly drafted member of the Toronto Legion selected #5 overall in the latest VHL Draft. Despite being behind in overall skill so far compared to my other Legionnaire defenseman, I'm a top-4 defenseman for the team. I'm overall very new to the league, but to be drafted this high in the league and by Toronto, I am enthusiastic and ready to be apart of the cornerstone franchise being built here. Also on top of this, I'm been approached to be the new Assistant General Manager of the Mexico City Kings in the VHLM, and although I didn't personally pursue the job and instead was pursued, it is by far the best decision I've made. It's amazing being apart of a team that has a great future here with an amazing General Manager in Hylands that wants more than anything to make this team a contender year after year, and I want more than anything to be help be part of his foundation for this team. Bonkers: That's great stuff! I'm sure my fans... I mean YOUR fans are happy to know a little bit more about an up and coming star such as yourself. That's also incredible to hear that people around the league look at you as almost like a pillar of the community already! Seems like you're a very squeaky clean kinda guy. Now I'm sure you've ever seen my interviews before, psh what am I saying, of course you have! I'm the number 1 reporter in the VHL world! So I'm terrific at really going deep with my guests and uncovering things about them. Don't worry though, I'm not trying to cause any issues with teams.. haha.. So, lets be honest here.. Toronto... They haven't done amazing this season. Currently sitting at 12 wins in 38 games, that doesn't really seem like a good environment for a prospect of your caliber. How are you handling your first season in the show? Welch: The fans are what makes the game itself, Billy! I think any true VHL'er knows this in their heart even if they want to become an eventual Hall of Famer! I don't think I'd call myself a squeaky clean type of guy though, I'd just refer to myself as a team first guy and I think that's why the Legion pursued me in the draft over higher skilled guys at the time. They knew I'd be here from start to finish, and by my own pursuit that'd definitely what I'd want to have happen. Oh, you are going deep without a doubt! You are correct, Toronto isn't having the brightest of seasons in regards to the points and standings, however I'd say they are having the brightest season of all in regards to the future. Did you know, Billy Boomer, that Toronto's core is all within a few seasons of each other in regards to when they started their career? Myself, Scotty Kaberle, Jolly Greene Giant, Frank Funk Jr., Lester Greene, Klamasteris, and now newly acquired Gunnar Odinsson. This is the start, not the only, of the new core of the Toronto Legion and I couldn't be more happy. The environment is the best I can ask for as we all know that we will do our best to stick together to the end here in Toronto, and we have an amazing locker-room due to this. Although I won't get as much ice-time as if I was the best and only prospect for Toronto, I feel like I'm doing the best I can with the time I'm getting and I'm no slouch on either the defensive or offensive end. I do wish I was doing better overall, but I can't say I'm ashamed of what I've done thus far. Bonkers: Billy Boomer? How dare you young man, I'll have you know I haven't had to dye my hair in almost a month now! I'll let this comment slide, but watch yourself in the future! You don't wanna get on the Bonk mans bad side. I do like your answer though, very team first and I think fans all over the league can appreciate it too. Do you feel being on a shallow team such as Toronto affords you chances to mess up on plays? Really sink your teeth in and learn the game? Some say losing yields more learning opportunities than winning. Welch: Dye your hair? I didn't think old men dye their hair as much as you, but at least you stay good looking! Definitely not, if anything I feel the most comfortable here than in any other situation. Ask yourself, would you rather grow alongside other hard earning players that will also help you improve/put up points or rather play with declining vets? I want Toronto to be an amazing team and I want to be apart of the core that makes this team good, and to know there's other relatively recently drafted teammates that are as hard working as me alongside myself puts me in the best situation possible in my eyes. Bonkers: You know what? I can't even argue with that statement. Being able to grow with a young core like Toronto can definitely be a bonus for you and the rest of the younger guys on that team. Speaking of bonus.... Lets talk about the night life in Toronto? Sound good? okay cool. Toronto is known to have a pretty crazy night life especially if you're someone of stature. Now playing for the Legion and it being hockey, how have you been enjoying that side of Toronto? Do you and teammates like to "bond" if you know what I mean. Welch: Billy Boomer giving up an argument? I think you're losing your touch a bit bud, I thought you were a strong and guns-ho interviewer? Night life in Toronto, eh? Well I can't give out too much information, definitely in these COVID-esque times, but us guys in the locker-room keep in touch and definitely have fun one way or another, but the only way to find out is if someone joins the locker-room itself! I'm not sure what you mean by bond, but we keep up with each other. The best thing I can say about each person in the locker-room is that we all have similar goals in mind. We are all team-orientated and positive for the future of the Legion. Bonkers: Kristof you don't seem to know who you're in the presence of. That's alright though. There's a rumor that you left Hungary under mysterious circumstances. And that you may be older than you say you are. There's even something out there saying that you had to falsify some documents to come over here to North America. What do you say to these rumors? Welch: I actually don't, to be honest I've only heard a few things here and there about this Boomer guy, comes off as quite the boomer overall. I cannot confirm or deny any assumptions about my age, mostly due to the hilarity that someone will doubt my age, but I'll say that my age is what my age and I'll continue to laugh at the conspiracy theories about it. I like my goulash as much as I like the Toronto poutine, but I'm here to play hockey, boomer-boy. Bonkers: Well, I'm sure the truth will come out eventually. Whether you're lying or not, haha. One more question for you . You mentioned you're now an AGM in VHLM. How has that been overall and do you think management would be something you'll pursue further in the future? Maybe for a VHL team at some point in your career? Welch: Overall my career in Mexico City as an AGM? Without a doubt, the funnest and most stressful time I've had at the same time. Taking a job like this is no joke and no one should go into it thinking it's an easy responsibility. But I went into it hoping that I could find and sign a guy similar to me coming into the VHL as one of my career goals, and I found a guy like that in @vat. This guy is an absolute treasure and lock for a 1st round pick in the upcoming draft. He's worked his way to become a max capped player and I couldn't be more proud. Future management wise, I could not see myself go further than being besides Hylands side. This man has taught and been there for me every step of the way so far on my management journey and my next goal is to help get him and our team a cup. VHL is a distant far-shot and I only want to go to a VHL team in a management opportunity when I'm ready as well as when I've had success at the VHLM level. Bonkers: An eye for talent too? Wow seems like you're just a jack of all trades! I respect wanting to take it slow, though back in my day if you said you weren't ready, usually that just blacklisted you from ever climbing! I'm sure that wont happen here though, ya know the VHL and VHLM has gotten really soft. See I remember in my day the boys were smoking and going to bars every night. Now all you guys do is read stuff on your flip phone and date girls with colored hair. BAH, Well Kristof it seems like our interview has come to an end. Don't worry, I wont tell anyone that you're in a bar drinking under age, I was a young hot shot once too ya know. Could've made the VHL if it wasn't for my bum knee. I wanna thank you for sitting down with me and answering my questions. And oh, since you're a big hot shot player in the VHL, you'll take care of my tab right? *Rushes to leave* Welch: BILLY!!!
  4. Hello ladies and gentlemen of the VHL and VHLM, I'm your host and top sports reporter Billy Bonkers. For my first episode I've decided to interview current defenseman for the Houston Bulls and prospect for the Calgary Wranglers, Germano Henchoz! Please enjoy me going deep Billy Bonkers: Germano its great to meet you! Thank you for appearing in my first media piece. As you know I'm the top sports reporter in the world, I'm sure you've heard of Billy Bonkers? Germano Henchoz: Uh thanks for having me man. I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea who you are. If anything, Houston wanted me to talk to some reporters just to let fans know what I'm about. Billy Bonkers: Oh, well now you know the legend of the Bonk man, VHLs number 1 reporter! Germano Henchoz: I immediately regret taking this interview... Billy Bonkers: Germano first question! Being a prominent player on the Houston Bulls, do you get special treatment around town? Germano Henchoz: I wouldn't say I get special treatment. Though if I have a good game and I walk around town I do get a few people telling me how great the team played and stuff like that. Fans in Houston and pretty rabid fans for hockey. I always thought this was just a basketball town, but its clear the Bulls have a huge local fanbase. Billy Bonkers: Fans are definitely paying attention to the Bulls this season! What do you think the biggest reason for the teams success is? Germano Henchoz: Well definitely our coaching staff plays a huge part. Making sure we've studied enough tape on the teams we're playing. Who to focus on and stuff like that. The lockerroom is a good place aswell. Everyone on the team seems to be super friendly and no drama is always nice. A team that works together tends to win more, and its nice there's no egos on the team. Billy Bonkers: That's great Germano real great. But let me ask you a REAL hard hitting question.. You're a young handsome guy, European and everything. The ladies here in Houston must love you, especially the ones in those UHM "gentlemans clubs" Germano Henchoz: Uhh I guess our fan bases has a lot of female fans, but I wouldn't say that they love me or anything like that. As for the gentleman clubs, sometimes you just want a big booty girl named Diamond to shake her butt in front of you ok? There's nothing wrong with that and if you think anything more of that I'll sue. Billy Bonkers: Germano you got me all wrong! I'm not trying to expose you or anything, look its Houston after all, many sports athletes enjoy the night life here. There's nothing wrong with it . Germano Henchoz: I'm just not trying to build a reputation of being out every night. Its always the team first, and my life second. I wanna win and this group has a real chance of going all the way. Billy Bonkers: Don't worry Germano, we all understand. I have 2 more questions for you if that's alright? Ahhhh I'm sure its alright! Is Diamond your go to girl? Germano Henchoz: This interview is over... Billy Bonkers: Welp fans, Germano has just stormed out of the interview HIGHLY unprofessional and I'll be speaking to his agent and management team right away! Unreal! Anyways, thanks for being with us tonight, and I hope you enjoyed our episode! Maybe one day we'll have Germano back and we can continue going deep. Until next time, this is the VHLs number 1 reporter! Billy Bonkers, signing out.
  5. 1) Its been calm, no real meetings with any teams so I'm just focusing on improving as a player. 2) I've watched most and there's definitely been some great games. Would have love to see Finland in the finals but the States is just too good. I'm usually 100% Canada will always win, but this game is gonna be difficult. 3) Definitely think Colorado is gonna come out and dominate. Another year under their belts and they only get better with age. Hoping Byram makes the team and we can really be a powerhouse. 4) I don't really snack during games tbh, just a bottle of water is usually what I'm having. Though I'll say Regular chips are goated with Sour Cream right behind them. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. 5) I'm gonna go with Philly, but with the Rush out I don't really care who wins. 6) Hmmmm no target, just trying to earn as much as I possible can!
  6. 1) Hmmm obviously everyone wants to win and make it through, but there always had to be a loser. Unfortunately we weren't built to take on the Reapers and I wish them nothing but the best moving forward. 2) I guess im not a hot commodity as I haven't had any draft interviews, but thats ok. Id like to play with @Juiceagain as I think he fits my playstyle and we could grow as a dpair together. 3) Usually like to hang out with friends and just go over the year together. This year will be much different and I'll probably just be spending it with the people in my house. 4) Hmmmmm, I think meeting my girlfriend was the best memory I had this year. She's pretty great and I'm really excited for our future together! 5) Shit I hope so haha. A step towards more normal would be fantastic. I miss being able to play Rec sports, go to the gym and see my friends whenever I wanted. 6) Just to continue doing what I'm doing. I'm starting a charity in 2021 and I'm gonna try and build that up the best I can!
  7. I actually really dig this kinda thing. Reminds me of other leagues that kinda go for a newspaper view. Just bringing sim closer to a real life thing. Definitely helps immersion! More things like news paper clippings and even shows are needed just to keep things fresh, I hope to see more of this kinda media in the future! 10/10
  8. Really impressed that you were able to change the goalie equipment so effortlessly, really looks like he rocked that setup. Though id say maybe change the background so that it seems like the goalie is actually there? The style and what you were going for is super nice, just seems a bit funky with how high res the goalie is and the backdrop not being as much. Its still great though for sure 7/10
  9. 1) Still early in the season. Getting proper line combos is a fine art and takes time. I feel once we get chemistry going the lines will be clicking up and down the lineup. 2) I mean, championships will always be more important. That and if you're a winner, you get paid more... 3) Well if I'm to win a championship I feel eventually id have to go through one of if not both of them. I wanna play the best every night to see where the Rush and myself stack up! 4)I play in an EHM league with a a few players from here. They talk about this league a lot, so I figured id give it a shot. 5)Uhhh too many to just narrow down tbh. I'll throw NHL 21 and LoL as 2 of my biggest atm. I was playing a lot of COD at one point, specifically warzone. 6) Anyone who believes pineapple belongs on pizza should be on the streets like the animals they are.
  10. 1) Its always nice to be on a strong and successful team. I think its a great situation as a rookie to come in and just learn from this talented group. Not crazy to think we can't finish as one of the top teams, if anything.. I'm counting on it. 2) Though I'm still learning about the league, the Reapers sound like a real dominate team. Big upsets like that aren't huge but anything can happen in the world of hockey! 3) Back end is always very important, so its incredibly hard to choose just one, but I'll go with Tee Pee ll. Hes in a spot, I hope to be in myself one day. 4) Definitely think I can improve my skating and hockey senses. More work in the gym and studying top players is on my schedule and I hope to improve quick. 5) Anywhere. Its not about where you get drafted really, its what you do with those opportunities. With that being said, I don't have a preference for whenever that day comes, I'll just make an impact no matter what. 6) The last few years I usually spend the holidays with family and run a bit of a charity drive as well. With Covid this year it looks like Christmas with the entire family is out of the question so I'll just be raising money and donating toys + dinners to families in need.
  11. I cant pass up the chance to play with @Juice. I accept your offer #FeelTheRush
