  6. vs The battle of 2 letter city names, the battle of Conference. This week we have the Washington DC Dragons and the Los Angeles Stars, located in the North American conference. Both Expansion teams, lets see which Expansion decided on the better Logo and branding for their team. When a league makes an expansion you need to make sure the name and logo are top notch and some of the best in the league, you want to draw new eyes to the Franchise, you want to draw new sponsors and sometimes even old fans. So let's start out with the Los Angeles Stars. Borrowing from Dallas in the NHL however Los Angeles does it better. You can clearly see the L and A with an Inset star as the slash in the A. the logo is simple but that's not a bad thing here. The Black with silver reminds me of another Los Angeles team, which I think was intentional. Familiarity is a good thing with Branding, this Logo is easy on the Eyes and looks great on a jersey. The only issues I have with this logo are the Blocks on the top of the L and bottom of the A, they also could have been smaller, reworked into something else. They Pull the eyes away from the center of the logo which has the star. As we talk about this star I feel there could have been more detail. For example a Los Angeles Skyline in the star, or something else then a solid Silver. Maybe a gradient, or the words Los Angeles. The star needs Texture. Overall I like the Logo. It's Solid and works for what the team needed, Simplicity. Now we move onto the DC Dragons and this logo is nothing but pure beauty and sex. Frankly this might be my most favorite Logo in the Victory Hockey League. Maybe near the top, just looking at the logo quickly it confused me why they went with a Slithering S shape for the dragon. Then I took a closer look and couldn't help but smile and sit looking at it more. What I noticed made me appreciate the logo that much more. The Letters DC are separated by the word Dragons. The top of the Dragon looks to be in the shape of a D and the bottom of the dragon looks to be in the shape of a C. The shape and size of the font is used beautifully, it fits well for the Theme and flow of this logo. The logo looks AMAZING on a Jersey or banner. However there are issues. For one the Dragon itself is mushed and blends together some details that are hard to find on first glance. For example if it wasn't for the bottom Jaw of teeth i wouldn't be able to see the bottom of the Jaw at all. It's just a bunch of Brown. You also have a Circular dragon then the Text sticks out an inch or so. I also don't really like the fact that the tails start to cover some of the text. However, that is just some nitpicking on my part. I have the Dragons winning this one. Both are good logos and both are amazing for expansion teams that make you excited to see them. But based on personal preference I like the Dragons logo more. Next Match up: Riga Reign Vs. Cologne Express (577 Words)
