  1. 1. I’m extremely happy with how we’ve started the season. We look like a true contender and are the strongest team in the M right now. 2. I’m happy with my performance. I’m producing well and hope to build on that by becoming more versatile as well. 3. Somewhere around a point per game would be nice, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I fall just shy of it. Hoping for the former. 4. 5. MISSISSAUGA!! 6. Ironhide for sure. He’s been absolutely undeniable. He’ll contend for league MVP.
  2. 1. I expect us to compete right out of the gate. We want to win in Mississauga, and we will do our best to make that happen. 2. I wouldn't say so at this time. 3. We're a deep group that wants to compete, so anyone on this squad could wear the 'C.' It's hard to decide, as I still need to become familiar with everyone in the locker room. 4. My favourite artist is probably JPEGMAFIA, but my favourite song right now is THANK GOD by Travis Scott. 5. Which Hounds player is most likely to lead the team in PIMs? 6. I've read somewhere that gasses leave Earth annually and are making the planet way lighter, but on a relative scale, it's unnoticeable.
  3. Assuming this is still active: Player name: Erik Finck II Render name: Matt Grzelcyk Preferred colours: Team colours for the Mississauga Hounds Extra details: Preferrably wearing #19 if you can do that
  4. I was told I can use any press conference for my weekly 2 TPE so yea! 1. He sat back and enjoyed watching hockey while preparing for the Junior Showcase. 2. I would have joined earlier so I could have participated in games this season. 3. I'm currently participating in the Junior Showcase. Go Steel! 4. I hope that whatever GM/AGM drafts me does their best to create a positive team environment and is open to supporting their players. 5. I'd go with an apple. Healthy and tastes good to boot. 6. Either of the Spider-Verse movies or The Iron Giant.
  5. 1. I hoped the Hounds would go a bit farther than they did, but shit happens. It was still a positive year for Mississauga. 2. I might head out to Sweden for a few weeks before taking time to prepare for the draft. Feel like some meatballs will calm the draft nerves. 3. I hope to make my VHLM debut next season, wherever that may be. 4. I like this system. It makes the attributes feel more relative to the rest of the league and makes individual upgrades seem more impactful. 5. Sweat, probably. Hopefully. 6. Callum. I'm fairly positive he can be heard from outside the building entirely.
  6. Erik Finck II is an 18-year-old left-shot LW eligible for the S91 VHL Entry Draft and the S90 VHLM Dispersal Draft. Finck II grew up in a small town in Northwestern Ontario, where he began playing hockey at five years old. Finck II originally planned to follow in his father's footsteps and become a defender. However, he elected to develop his offensive skills first and foremost, ultimately making him ideal at the wing position. Finck II's first significant step into organized hockey began when he joined the Ottawa Jr. Senators of the CCHL as a 16-year-old, 2-3 years younger than most of the league's players. He recorded 173 points in 110 games, earning him a significant role on the Carleton Ravens men's hockey team this past season. In 26 games with the team, Finck II recorded 38 points, good enough for the top spot on his team. Rather than opting for another year playing at school, Finck II opted for the VHLM draft with the hopes of eventually being selected by a team in the VHL. Finck II's pass-first playstyle can be attributed to his father, Erik Finck, a former VHLE defenceman who prioritized developing his puck-moving strengths alongside his highly-touted defensive ability. He retired from the sport very early in his promising career for personal reasons, which has since motivated Finck II to increase his work ethic and force his way onto the radar of VHL, VHLE, and VHLM general managers. He has stated that he models his game after Mark Scheifele, Leo Carlsson, and defender Matt Grzelcyk: "I feel as though I play with a pass-first mentality and frequently scan the ice to anticipate play before it fully develops. I hope to continue working on this skill to put myself in a position to surprise people in the pro leagues. I want to be versatile while also being able to dominate alongside my team." Like his father, Finck II has already demonstrated his leadership skills, most recently captaining the Carleton Ravens in his freshman season. He often expresses his desire to fit in with a roster to create a positive environment that survives and thrives: "I want to be a leader. No matter where I go, I hope to gel with my team and encourage every player on the roster to be upstanding and respectful. That's how you create a winning environment, on top of being a talented team." Finck II grew up primarily watching the Boston Bruins of the NHL, citing his primary influences as Zdeno Chara, Patrice Bergeron, and David Krejci. "The effort those players gave every night was something I always found admirable, something I hope to replicate," he said. "You see those guys giving it their A-game whether they're up by five goals, down by five goals, or tied, and it's hard not to love what they do." Finck II, growing up in a small town, had to cling to the mentality these players had in order to impress and get on the radar of scouts outside of his region. His immense knowledge of the game led him to consider pursuing a career in sports journalism, which subsequently allowed him to understand how to be noticed by scouts and how to put his name into the public eye. He was, and still is not, a flashy player, making it difficult for him to be noticed on a national or provincial scale without affecting his overall play. He let his numbers speak for themselves, which eventually garnered him the opportunity to play for the Ottawa Jr. Senators across the province. While hesitant, Finck II was further motivated by his father's retirement from hockey to continue his family name in the hockey world. At 6'0" and roughly 194 lbs, Finck II already has the frame to play in the VHL. However, he claims he is still far from being prepared to play in the VHL and will need time to develop his skills in the VHLM and, eventually, the VHLE. He feels he has more to give on the physical side of the game and wants to impress scouts by rapidly improving his skating and off-puck skills. He has no preference for where he plays and expresses his willingness to buy into any situation: "I would consider myself a loyal player. I want to win, but I won't unjustifiably leave a team or force my way out. When selected in the draft, I want my GM to be happy with the pick when it happens and many seasons into the future." Finck II hopes to be a draft selection that is highly regarded in hindsight and wishes to one day play for a team in the VHL, whether as a star player or a depth piece: "Wherever I go, I want to win. I want to help a team win a championship. It's as simple as that."
  7. 1. Get familiar with the players on your roster and ensure that your group is creating a positive environment. 2. I hope to make a great first impression in this league, whether that's with the Hounds or elsewhere. 3. Dawg. Short and sweet. 4. Insects are freaky. I'd probably kill it if it got too close. They're on the better side of all insects, though. 5. What's Forrest Gump's password? 1forrest1. 6. Howdy Doody. No doubt.

I got lots of scoring while being able to upgrade my defensive ratings. 4. I'm confident in my performance, but I can see Akio Suzuki be the team's MVP this postseason. 5. I'm likely going to be heading to the VHLE with the Bratislava Watchmen. 6. I have been. Since my team is out, I predict Tampa Bay to 3peat.
  11. 1. I think it can always continue. We’ve got the depth to perform. 2. If we keep winning, anything can happen. 3. Absolutely. Anybody who can draw into the lineup will be a factor for future games. 4. The Hounds have HEART! LFG! 5. I love the bone of destiny. It’s a good way to build locker room chemistry. 6. Somewhat. I love that Krejci and Pastrnak are together again but I’m rooting for Canada.

  14. 1. I'd hope to build my defensive stats while also being a productive defenseman. 2. I believe it'll be a much better year for us. We've got lots of young talent and plenty of new players who are willing to stay active. 3. I'm aiming to build a shutdown defender who can pass and skate well. I'm balancing my TPA pretty heavily so I'm solid in every aspect. 4. I did not. 5. I've already been drafted and I'm excited to see how they do this season. 6. Boston Bruins!
