Hello everyone,
 
Not gonna bother with a members tag on this, if you see it then great, you will be rewarded for that. If you don’t then…. Well why am I writing this because if you don’t see it how can you read this part?
 
Anyway, today marks 5717 days (that’s 15 years, 7 months, and 26 days if you’re curious) since the VHL opened its doors. What a random number you might say, why does that matter? Well if I do the math, and I have, I was born 5717 days before the start of the VHL. Given that I joined on day one and have been here ever since that means today marks the official day that I have been in the VHL just as long as I was outside of it. Is that a stupid thing to celebrate? Probably but that won’t stop me; so please let me indulge in a bit of sentimentality for a moment.
 
When the VHL started I had not yet completed high school, I had never had a girlfriend, hell I had never kissed a girl. I was a lonely nerd turning to the internet to find something to do; and I found it. The VHL was not my first sim league, wasn’t even the first one I joined ran by the people who ran it, but it was the first that felt different and felt like it had a good chance of surviving which so few at that point had done. I found a community here. I cannot honestly say that everything went perfectly or that my start in the VHL was without fault; I very nearly left for good within 2 months, but I stayed. I have now not only finished high school but university and going on 10 years working post-schooling. I have now not only had a steady relationship but a wife and two children, a life. All the while the VHL has been there, constantly evolving with the times sure but present. Over 5 years ago I took up the mantel of commissioner. I did it not because I thought I was necessarily the best person for the job but because I thought the league needed something, it was in trouble and I didn’t want to see it fail. I like to think that in these 5 years of growth I have at least stalled that failure.
 
5717 days likely means nothing to any of you, just as that paragraph likely means nothing to any of you, but it means something to me. This league, this place, this community has been a standard in my life for longer than most anything else. I’m not going anywhere right now, that’s not what this is, but I did want to mark the occasion because this league does mean a lot to me.
 
So if you’ve made it this far feel free to take 5 uncapped TPE for your troubles, on me. I’m not sure the insane total I’ve had over the years (probably over 10k by now) so 5 for everyone that I bored with this story should suffice as a thank you for being my weird extended internet family.

As many of may know, I took over the Mississauga Hounds after @N0HBDY followed @Alex' sirene call to the VHL. A quick glance at the roll call and the picks available for S82 told me that we were not going to be competitive, regardless who would get the job as a GM. 
Deducing that we would need to heavily rely on waivers to fill the roster, I asked @Ricer13 to make a catching graphic for our waiver pitch (I suck on graphics). The ones who know Ricer, will not be surprised that he jumped at the opportunity to help a fellow man. This is what he created:
 

 
So I was ready to throw pitches at every new creates that came our way and try to get as many as humanly possible. Later the same week I was advised that my application for Mississauga GM had been accepted. So I had the next challenge at my hands: to find an AGM. After thorough thoughts I opted for @Ente2997 and the deciders were soft skills, chief amongst them a common mother tongue and living in the same time zone, which certainly helps with communication.
Once I was appointed GM, I decided to tear everything down and trade what little (and late) picks the Hounds had in S82 for S83 picks in order to make a new start in the next season. During the season, I decided to 'sell' five of my more active and promising talents in order to acquire even more picks as the S83 promised to be a deep draft class (courtesy of Rob talks Hockey). These five players were Mean Machine, Adison Bond, Leandro Gonçalves, Hunor Solyom and Jesse Markov. And I could bring back Big Bob, whose rights were still with the Hounds, but he was released due to RL time constraints and consequential inactivity.
We did try to compete and the Hounds are the team which was most successful in regards of picking up new waivers (at least last I checked). Probably due to a combination of me being able to promise top ice time and the fancy graphic displayed above. Alas, my inexperience, STHS/RNJesus and an almost all rookie core made it difficult to be consistent and competitive against teams who had a more mixed (or even stacked) roster composition. I think we did not too bad, considering the circumstances and had the odd upsets against nominally way stronger teams. The spirit of the players were unbroken as far as I could tell.
So not unexpectedly, we ended up at the bottom of the league, which helps us with the draft of course (unfortunately no first round pick) in S83 and I hope to bring back as many of S82 Hounds as possible/available.
 
This was my short summary of my first season as a GM. 
 
Have I made questionable decisions? Of course, I am still learning.
Could I have done better in terms of player retention? Probably, yes and I will endeavour to do so.

1. i dont have anything special i think we have a pretty decent team
2. he's been good so far i think we needed a D and we got THE D we needed
3. great game that's for sure we had a bit mad locker room chat after the first period and we got up and won
4. of course he's amazing he's gonna get a few more for sure
5. I think we can rely on him everybody is good but he's outstanding
6. It wont be easy but i think there's noone in the league that wont be able to keep us tight

8. I have tons...My team is putting too much pressure on me etc. but i can deal w it

1.Of course play their heart out everyone needs to do 100% everyday and we can make something great
 
2.The management is very helpful with the players they are always there for us on and off ice too
 
3.i would love to work on my defensive and scoring skills but it would be great to be a better goal scorer too
 
4.i got my offer from this team and it is a great franchise so i was sure that i want to play here
 
5.i would say Draisatl he works very hard everyday
 
6.i dont have one yet but hopefully i will get as much as it possible
