  1. Tristan stepped right into his new role with the Mississauga Hounds knowing this was an exciting yet nerve-racking time for his career. His first shot at the big time show, he had to leave an impression. Well, the Hounds have left on an impression on him. Since joining the Hounds, Rangel has not known what it feels like to lose at this level. Every game has been full of heart pounding action, some closer than others, but all exciting and thrilling. Tristan has contributed 4 points in 6 games, all coming in the form of goals. He was awarded the coveted Bone for his first goal scored for the team, a highlight he won't forget soon. Tristan is excited to see if the hot form can continue, hoping to add some assists to his name. Could this hot streak mean trouble for the other teams come playoff time? Tristan hopes to make a deep run and a huge splash in the playoffs with the Hounds. Aim high, always! [Word Count 168]
  2. Tristan was born to a small family in Steven's Point, Wisconsin on February 25th 1996. His parents have frequently stated that before walking, he was in skates enjoying time on the pond behind the house. A natural love for hockey has always flowed through Tristan's veins, spending quality time with his dad on cold winter nights watching the the top leagues on tv wondering if one day he would make it. Tristan has never garnered much attention from scouts, teams, or anyone in general for that matter. He carries himself quietly and makes sure to keep a professional and focused attitude. Some may say he is a "bummer" and "a mood killer". These don't affect him as his goal has always been laser focused on improving his game. When it came time, Rangel was recruited by the University of Michigan Wolverines to play NCAA hockey for the university. Heading to Ann Arbor for freshman year was daunting for Tristan coming from a relatively small town, playing high school hockey and pond hockey with his friends. He didn't doubt his abilities but expectations for such a prominent hockey school were high, and he knew failure could derail his dreams. This was a high stakes make or break moment. Freshman year ended up being a nightmare. Ice time was rare, and when it came, Tristan knew he wasn't performing up to his abilities. Coach railed on him as the new country bumkin on the team. This in combination with mediocre grades and an almost non-existent social life led Tristan to truly doubt his decision. He decided to stick with it and boy was it the right decision. Sophomore year he began to flourish. Tristan would go on to lead the team in scoring his sophomore year after having put in hard work during the off season and really stepping into his own. He only continued to improve as the Wolverines captures 2 NCAA titles while Rangel was on the team during his Junior and Senior years. Beyond here his career now turns to VHLm where he has recently signed a contract with the Mississauga Hounds looking to kick start his career in fashion. His scoring nature is something to behold, and his calm cool collected nature has earned him the nickname Frost. A dedicated team player, hard worker and all around calming presence would be a benefit to most teams in the league. He's excited for this next chapter and hopes to leave a lasting mark on the hockey world. Word Count: 418
