  1. Content: 3/3 - Channeling your inner Ron Artest? I'm going to assume the brawl was sparked by a tequila shot being thrown at World Peace, who was outraged by the alcohol abuse. This was hilarious and fun to read, well done! Grammar: 1.75/2 - A couple errors, which will get a little bit docked here. I will happily proofread your articles before you post them if you would like some help next time. obviously no mistaken = obviously no mistaking After having some mere games throughout the preseason = ? season 36 = Season 36 a few uncharacteristically losses = a few uncharacteristic losses his weird white German ass = his weird, white German ass only catched glimpses of seven = only caught glimpses of seven Appearance: 1/1 - Pascha is a real place? Can't say I've ever been there. Overall: 5.75/6 - Clean up the grammatical issues and you'll be getting an easy six with no problems!
  2. Content: 3/3 - Jeff Phinney has been a great asset to the Oslo Storm the last two seasons, happy to see him return to the VHL. Moe Mills has also done a pretty good job so far, I'm hoping he will return and reach the pros one day as well. Grammar: 2/2 - Just one little thing: Black Eagles = Iron Eagles Appearance: 1/1 - So patriotic! Overall: 6/6 - Well done sir.
  3. Oslo Off To Hot Start OSLO - Last season, the Oslo Storm were ultimately done in by a horrid beginning to their season, making a hole too big to overcome. This season, however, that is simply not the case. Led by a ridiculous 14 goals from left wing Johan Hallstrom, the Storm are off to a 3-1 start with some familiar faces stepping up big time in order to replace some excellent players. With the departure of goalie Kimmo Salo, along with defensemen Sami Kravinen and Jeff Phinney, many were unsure of what to expect from the Storm this season. But thanks to some big-time production, they have shattered all expectations thus far. Hallstrom, who scored a team-high 36 goals last season, already has nearly half of that total in just four games. After a solid first season in the VHLM, the Riga Reign prospect has absolutely dazzled the league thus far. Combined with five assists, Hallstrom has 19 points, nearly averaging an astronomical five points a game. Although he was hoping to reach the VHL this season, Riga certainly must be happy to see the dominance being shown by their prized prospect thus far, knowing that they have yet another dangerous weapon to add to their young roster. Although Sami Kravinen made the leap to the VHL with the Vasteras Iron Eagles this season (recently notching the first goal of his career), Thomas Landry found that the best replacement was already on the roster: the recently re-named Penis Anthony Hudson. Playing on the team's second pairing last season, Hudson is poised to have an even bigger season this year. He leads the team in hits (24) and is tied with free agent pick-up Moe Mills with 11 assists. Hudson and Mills have gelled fantastically thus far and are proving to be an effective tandem. Speaking of the Iron Eagles, Vasteras has the rights to another Oslo player, perhaps their most overlooked player: Luke Riggs. The winger has been quietly developing into a power forward type of player and his hard work has paid off fantastically. He has been recently placed on the first line with veteran DuJuan Cook and Johan Hallstrom, which should make for an absolutely deadly first line. For a team that lacked offensive consistency last season, suddenly the Storm are very potent with the puck. "It's a testament to just how hard the boys have worked," said Landry following a team practice. "A lot of people were quick to count us out last season, but they worked very hard and never gave up. Even though guys like Salo, Kravinen and Phinney aren't here anymore, that mentality is still here. Although the main priority is getting them all ready to take their game to the next level and reach the pros, nobody has ever complained about winning. They have the opportunity to reach the goals they set for themselves last year and I can't wait to see them reach that this year." After reaching the Founder's Cup Finals in Season 35, the Storm failed to reach the playoffs last year in a stacked European Conference. Despite that, Oslo finished strong, actually finishing with a record that would have resulted in a playoff berth had they been in the North American Conference. However, with enough returning talent stepping up in big ways, it looks like the Oslo Storm could be on their way back to the post-season once again. 4. Congrats on your first VHL goal Kravinen!
  5. Hallstrom is going to eat the VHLM alive this year.
  6. Ugh, this year is going to be brutal for Dallas. Losing Ware sucks, but if they don't bring Jason Hatcher back, they'll have absolutely nothing up front besides George Selvie.
  7. Good game New York! Let's keep it going boys, we're looking awesome so far!
  8. Great start boys, the assists will be coming all season!
  9. Content: 3/3 - It's been a rumbling for quite a while now, but very happy to see it come to fruition. Doesn't hurt that you chose an awesome logo and mascot, especially the use of the color red. Very nice touch for a Russian team. Grammar: 2/2 - Pretty solid! there maybe fans saddened = there may be fans saddened The VHLM hold much more = The VHLM holds much more Appearance: 1/1 - Love love love the new logo and sweaters. Very sharp. Overall: 6/6 -
  10. Content: 3/3 - Pretty cool idea, pretty neat to see the regional origins of the players in the VHL. Interested to see how all the USA players are distributed by state/region. Grammar: 2/2 - This is really the only gray area when it comes to grading media spots. Writing styles and rules can differ by the country, even though it's technically the same language. I try not to dock for those things, even though I'm no expert on those differences. This article gets a six regardless, but I wouldn't have docked for the hyphens or not using the Oxford comma (I usually don't use it either). Not that it was wrong to dock for it, but it gives us the realization that we need to discuss how to handle stuff like this moving forward. Appearance: 1/1 - Yarr! Overall: 6/6 - I look forward to the next installment!
  11. Content: 3/3 - I definitely wasn't expecting to see Jones playing as a wing with the success he's had, but he could be absolutely lethal in this new role. Keep up the hard work and no one will be able to keep you out of the Hall of Fame. Grammar: 2/2 - Some minor errors, but not quite enough to dock. face off = face-off superior card", = superior card," mvp = MVP game 7 = Game 7 Appearance: 1/1 - I ain't even mad. Overall: 6/6 -
  12. Well boys, we've got another cup to win! Onward Davos!
  13. Congrats on a great career STZ!
  14. A great teammate and a guy who did absolutely everything he could for Davos. Some time ago, people would have never guessed I was describing Kesler. He's been a great guy for this team and Brovalenko will be sorely missed once he hangs up the skates. Let's get you one more cup brother!
  15. Either you can't read or this is some cute way of attacking me. So this is where I let you know that you're getting way too wound up over a fictional sports league and need to go calm down.
  16. This isn't California, keep your bodily fluids to yourself. Someone's salty they didn't get a banner in the rafters.
  17. Content: 3/3 - Man, we've got some BIG players signing up lately! Saw something that you may be retiring, but in case you decide to stay, here's some TPE for you! Sure hope both of the big guys make it to the pros! I actually liked the first-person writing here. I felt it was a great way to introduce us to Krill and I hope it won't be the last we see of him. Grammar: 1.75/2 - Like Slobo said, just take the time to look over the article before hitting that submit button. You'll be amazed at how many little things you can catch. I also would not mind proofreading your article at all before you submit it either. Appearance: 1/1 - Yes sir! Overall: 5.75/6 - Hope to see more from you! FINAL: 6/6
  18. Content: 3/3 - 6'8, 250 pounds? Daaaamn, you're going to be an absolute nightmare if you keep putting work in. It's a shame that the sim is text-based, we won't be able to see Ruud absolutely flattening people, but the pixels sure will feel it! Grammar: 1/2 - Slobo already handled this rather well, nothing further to add to his list. If you would like, I would be happy to help proofread your work before you submit. Also, don't forget that you can double the TPE of three point tasks, but I would wait to use them until you start earning six points. Appearance: 1/1 - You got this! Overall: 5/6 - Keep working at it, both your player and your writing will get better as a result!
  19. Content: 3/3 - Grammar: 1.5/2 - For the length of the piece, a bit too many errors for my liking: Both Americans general = Both the Americans' general American’s = Americans' (multiple times) My teammates have nothing surprising with the support they showed me was and = My teammates have nothing surprising with the support they showed me and give punch to the Americans second line = give punch to the Americans' second line Appearance: 1/1 - YARP Overall: 5.5/6 -
  20. Oslo offers: Year 1: $500,000 Year 2: $500,000 Year 3: $500,000
  21. Content: 3/3 - Well, the cat's out of the bag now, so don't expect to wait too long on draft day. Going to be an interesting draft for sure and it will likely all hinge on whether or not Blaine Olynick is heading up to the VHL or not. Grammar: 2/2 - Only one little thing: would be idea situations = would be ideal situations Appearance: 1/1 - Overall: 6/6 - (Y)
