  2. Cologne Advances to VHLE Finals In a surprising turn of events, the Cologne Express powered through the first round of the VHLE playoffs, sweeping aside the Rome Gladiators in a decisive 4-0 victory. The series showcased Cologne's dominance on both ends of the ice but especially in net where goaltender Clark put up multiple shutout performances. The defensive core, led by Joseph Dubois and Jordan Bennett, proved instrumental in stifling Rome's offensive efforts, allowing a mere four goals throughout the entire series. Also notable were the performances of Theo Allard and Baby Moo Moo who stepped up big time to demonstrate their offensive prowess, contributing crucial goals when needed. Joshua Schwarzer, who had already showcased his scoring touch in the latter part of the regular season, continued his offensive impact with three goals in the series. But the shining star was really goaltender Clark stood tall, boasting an impressive .971 save percentage and securing two shutouts in the four-game sweep. The team's defensive resilience and offensive firepower were on full display, signaling their readiness for the challenges that lie ahead in the postseason. With this sweep, the Cologne Express advances to the finals with confidence and momentum. They wait the winner of Vasteras and Stockholm which is currently tied 2-2. Either team would be a formidable opponent but right now Cologne looks poised to repeat!

  4. 1: The Chicago Phoenix have clinched a playoff spot. ARE YOU IN? I'm IN! In the sense I will be cheering the team on from Europe and watching on TV 2: How would you rate this regular season 1 out of 10? And why would you give it the rating you have? I would say a 8. Finishing top 3 in the conference is a huge accomplishment but still lots of room for improvement! 4: What is your least favorite NHL hockey team and why? Probably Boston given the teams overall success and rivalry with the Canucks 5: Who is your favorite actor? Keanu Reeves currently is pretty awesome. Used to like Simon Baker a lot as well 6: Do you believe the MCU has fallen off? Would you like it if they did a reboot of the universe? A bit ya and I think the quantity of releases has burnt people out. Would like them to focus on quality and maybe another overall theme then the current multiverse arc 8: What is the best cartoon theme song? A couple of my faves growing up were Pokemon, Arthur, and Bananas in Pyjamas
  5. 1: Here's an odd question. Which VHL season was your favorite so far? Doesn't have to be with your current character. S56 with my old goalie Apollo Skye. was nice to win a cup with a great team! 2: Who is your favorite Celebrity from Chicago? I'm probably not aware of everyone from Chicago but maybe Michael Jordan? 3: What is a fun hobby of yours? The VHL or is that too meta? Have been enjoying board game nights and escape rooms with friends recently. 4: If you were to take a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go? At the moment probably between Japan or Italy. 6: Do you believe in the statement that Defense wins championships? In the context of VHL then yes I think it's an incredibly important attribute and a solid defence core and goalie can win you a championship. 8: What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Strawberry Cheesecake is pretty amazing.
  6. VHLE Trade Deadline Review It was an overall quiet trade deadline in the VHLE with only 3 moves being made. Trade 1: Bratislava receives: Pipo Popa Oslo receives: S92 OSL 3rd Quick thoughts: A trade that isn’t really that impactful this season but is interesting for next season. Popa was my VHLM goalie last year in Houston and will be a solid goalie for Bratislava next season. Great pick up for a 3rd round pick and Oslo is able to add some draft capital to get another skater. Trade 2: Cologne receives: S93 STO 2nd S93 STO 4th Stockholm receives: Swinsola S92 COL 3rd S92 COL 4th Quick thoughts: I was quite interested in what this trade might be since it impacts my time. Really like this trade for Stockholm, it gives them a 4th defenceman at 378 TPE and should help them solidify their playoff position. On the Cologne side of things they get some good S93 picks to continue their strong roster that season while still having 4 defenceman for the current season. Trade 3: Bratislava receives: S92 ROM 1st Rome receives: BjorkaBjorn BjornaBjorkson S92 BRA 4th Quick thoughts: Hey it’s Jardy, and he is back in Rome. Probably the biggest trade of the deadline where the team at the top of the standings get a capped out player to help them secure the cup this season. This also gives them 9 forwards. Makes a lot of sense for Bratislava as well if they think next season is a better shot at the cup.
  7. 1. What do you think of the teams performance now we close in towards the trade deadline? We are doing alright thus far, well positioned to make the playoffs. Need to figure out how to prevent some goals against though. 2. Should the team make any moves, perhaps brining players in or trading some away? If something makes sense then I'm all for it. Maybe getting a capped out d man and goalie in exchange for some of the forward depth? 3. What do you think of your players start to the season so far are you performing above or below expected? Probably performing a bit above expected which is nice to see. Would be thrilled to end at a point per game pace. 4. Have we got it in us to win another cup and complete the three-peat and who is our biggest challenger? Definitely! Rome and Vasteras seem like the teams to beat currently. I think Vasteras will be especially scary come playoffs. 5. Are any players in the league surprising you so far perhaps in a good or bad way? Nice to see Spanish Moth Moon tearing up the league so that is a good surprise. 6. If you could pick the lines and ice time what set-up would you do for our team? I may try some suggestions we get! Does STHS 1.1 allow you to set ice times? If so I might try to go a little top heavier in the playoffs. Focus on players with strong defensive skills to prevent some goals against.
  8. Schwarzer Finds Scoring touch in VHLE In a surprising display of offensive prowess, Joshua Schwarzer has emerged as a key contributor for the Cologne Express, finding his scoring touch in the past few weeks. Currently standing at 7th overall in league scoring, Schwarzer has notched an impressive 39 points in 38 games, showcasing his ability to make an impact on the scoresheet. Adjusting seamlessly to new linemates, Schwarzer has played a pivotal role on both the second and fourth lines, forming effective partnerships with Theo Allard, Baby Moo Moo, Phillip Rave, and Martin Kemp. His versatility and adaptability have been crucial for the team's success, providing valuable depth across various lines. The offensive depth in Cologne is truly remarkable as Schwarzer’s teammates Anthony Simmons and Jordan Bennett have also been instrumental in Cologne's offensive surge and are above him in overall scoring. With the offensive side of things clicking, the team knows that the next step is to buckle down and improve their defensive game. While the Express lead the league in goals scored, they also have the third highest goals against. As the trade deadline looms, Cologne aims to leverage this positive momentum, positioning themselves strategically for a successful playoff run.
  9. 1: With an unexpected twist, the Chicago Phoenix are currently top of the league. What do you think is the biggest factor in our early success? Great Chemistry between the players! 2: What has been your favorite aspect of the VHL during your time as a member? Just having the opportunity to play on teams with some great members! 3: We've gotten a decent look at each VHL team so far, which team would you assume will win the cup this season? The Stars are looking pretty dominant in the NA conference so far and probably have a decent shot. 5: Which NHL team has surprised you the most so far? The Vancouver Canucks being quite decent! 6: If you were an NHL scout, which attribute would you look for in a player? In real life, probably speed and Hockey IQ. In STHS, DF. 8: What was the first video game you played or remember playing? I think it was some kids game like Jumpstart or Freddie Fish
  10. The Express 24 Games In The Cologne Express have shown promising signs in the early stages of the season, currently holding a respectable third place in the overall standings. With 28 points from 24 games, the team has displayed solid but inconsistent performances. Anthony Simmons has been a standout contributor, tallying 30 points, showcasing an impressive scoring touch. His ability to find the back of the net has been crucial for the Express. On the blue line, Jordan Bennett and Joseph Dubois have combined for 47 points, providing offensive support and showcasing defensive prowess. The depth of the team is evident, with forwards like Eric White Jr and Joshua Schwarzer contributing significantly. Their combined 45 points have added a dynamic element to the Express' forward lines while Lionel Collberg and Swinsola have also helped anchor the defense, displaying a balanced approach. The Express find themselves in a competitive field with the Vasteras Iron Eagles and Rome Gladiators setting the pace. However, the Cologne Express have proven their mettle in the playoffs before and remain poised for a strong push in the upcoming games. As the season progresses, maintaining consistency will be key for the Express. The individual contributions across all positions have created a well-rounded team that is capable of challenging any opponent. The upcoming matchups will undoubtedly test their resolve, but if they continue their current form, the Cologne Express could emerge as serious contenders.
  11. 1. What do you think of managements choice of Captain and Alternate Captain's this season? Seems to be a nice mix of some vets and fresh talent that can hopefully add some energy to the team! 2. If your player could change to any other position on the team which would you choose and why? Probably defence since my player has pretty decent defence already 3. What is your expectation for production this year for goals and assists, and for goalies SV% and GAA? Being a point per game player would be nice so 30-40 goals and 30-40 assists would be nice by the end of the season 4. What do you think of the teams start to the season so far are we performing above or below expected? Still trying to get things clicking optimally but happy with the start and hope to continue improving from here 5. What do you think of your players start to the season so far are you performing above or below expected? About as expected, I think I played only a a few minutes in the first couple of games due to a line error but after that have been around a point per game with solid +/- 6. If you could pick out a nickname for myself and Fradin what would you call us and why? Super Sjin and Fantastic Fradin!
  12. The Curious Case of Chicago The Chicago Phoenix have surprised many with their impressive start to the season, defying initial projections that had placed them near the bottom of the standings. With 8 wins and 2 overtime losses in their first 10 games, the team has accumulated 18 points, propelling them to the top of the North American Conference. Led by the experienced Scotty Sundin, who has tallied an impressive 20 points, the team has found unexpected success early on. Complementing his efforts, Legacy Gaming and Dank Turtle have also contributed significantly, displaying a notable scoring touch and a strong presence on the ice. The Phoenix's defensive unit, anchored by players such as Michael Shotter and Reinhard von Kongming, has exhibited resilience, effectively thwarting opponents' attacks and contributing to the team's strong defensive performances. Additionally, the team's rookie netminder, Ryan Artyomov, has been a standout performer, showcasing exceptional reflexes and even some playmaking abilities, evident in his remarkable save percentage of 0.933, goals-against average of 2.49, and adding an assist. Despite their strong start, the true test for the Phoenix lies in their ability to maintain this early momentum and uphold their current form throughout the grueling course of the season. As the competition intensifies, the team will need to stay focused and continue their stellar performances to solidify their position in the league.
  13. Hello Cologne, Thanks for Having Me! S91 draftee Joshua Schwarzer has made the leap from the VHLM to the VHLE and is now setting his sights on having an extraordinary debut season with the Cologne Express. Eager to further refine his skills and elevate his game to new heights, Schwarzer has his sights firmly set on making a tremendous impact in the upcoming season and fortifying his gameplay to rival the seasoned competitors of the league. Over the offseason, Schwarzer demonstrated a strong commitment to his intensive training regimen. While reflecting on his transition, Schwarzer emphasized his commitment to enhancing both his offensive prowess and defensive fortitude, with the ultimate goal of becoming a more well-rounded player who is capable of dictating the flow of the game. With the Cologne Express boasting a remarkable track record of back-to-back consecutive championship victories, the team's expectations for the upcoming season are nothing short of accomplishing the three-peat and becoming winners again. As Schwarzer integrates into the roster, the collective Express fanbase are hoping he is able to seamlessly adapt to the much faster paced VHLE game. With the Express fielding a huge roster of players this season, creating a cohesive and dynamic team environment will be key to a successful season. Whenever he is on the ice, Schwarzer knows he has to create strategic turnovers and add substantial firepower for the team or risk losing his spot in the lineup. However, it won’t just be Schwarzer integrating into this championship winning environment though. He is joined by a plethora of formidable S91 draftees in Lionel Collberg, Phillip Rave, and Theo Allard. This infusion of youthful energy into the team's dynamic represents a promising but perhaps chaotic chemistry that will have to be sorted out early in the season. While acknowledging the caliber of talent prevalent within his own team as well as opposing teams in the VHLE, Schwarzer remains undaunted, viewing the competitive landscape as a challenge to showcase his capabilities on a grander stage. As the season kicks off, Schwarzer is just letting it all soak in and enjoying the experience. "Cologne has welcomed me with open arms, and I couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this incredible team. The support and camaraderie here are unparalleled, and I am eager to repay their faith in me by giving my all on the ice. Together, we're set to achieve great things, and I'm excited to contribute to our collective success." – Joshua Schwarzer Schwarzer making his VHLE debut
  14. Prospect Scouting Report: Joshua Schwarzer VHLM Career Overview: Joshua Schwarzer has carved an interesting path through the VHLM, demonstrating a remarkable blend of skill, determination, and adaptability. Beginning his journey with a limited role on the Philadelphia Reapers, he quickly caught the attention of scouts and coaches alike with his tenacity and natural scoring ability. Schwarzer's on-ice presence was marked by his strong defensive awareness and a penchant for timely goals, making him a valuable asset for the Reapers. His transition to the Houston Bulls, followed by a mid season trade to the Saskatoon Wild elevated his game to new heights. Embracing a more prominent role within both teams, Schwarzer's leadership qualities began to shine through. Despite the challenges posed by increased competition, he consistently displayed a commendable work ethic and an unwavering commitment to team success. Strengths: Schwarzer's most prominent asset lies in his well-rounded playing style. Possessing a keen hockey sense, he demonstrates exceptional hockey IQ, often anticipating plays and creating scoring opportunities. His offensive prowess is complemented by an impressive defensive game, making him a reliable two-way player. Moreover, his ability to remain composed under pressure has made him a clutch performer in critical game situations. Schwarzer's strong work ethic and willingness to constantly improve have garnered praise from coaches and teammates alike, establishing him as a respected presence in the locker room. Areas for Improvement: While Schwarzer's performance has been consistently impressive, there remain areas where he could further refine his game. Notably, his consistency in maintaining high-level offensive production throughout the season has room for improvement. Developing a more varied offensive repertoire and enhancing his playmaking and skating abilities could also amplify his impact on the score sheet. Furthermore, refining his physical play and increasing his presence in the defensive zone could solidify his role as a reliable physical asset that makes him tough to play against. Projected Future: Given his remarkable progression in the VHLM, Schwarzer's transition to the professional league holds great promise. 15. 1. Great 2 wins by you guys to tie the series! Are we carrying the momentum and taking the series home? I definitely thought our adjustments were solid and our momentum would be enough to swing the series in our favour. 2. Brigade dominated round Robin and are cutting through the Rush like a knife through butter, leading their series 3-1. When you or your player aren't involved in the series, do you enjoy close nailbiter series, or examples of domination by one team? A bit of column A a bit of Column B. A Nailbiter is more interesting especially for a finals but some times nice for a quick series in lower rounds to get things moving. 3. We've re-worked penalty kill lineups, and generally adjusted strategy to play more "boring", defensive game limiting the Steel chances. Is this our new identity going forward, perhaps even to the finals? I think defence wins championships and it's a solid identity and strategy shift especially in the playoff 4. On top of those changes, we've also put Joshua Schwarzer, the wild card MVP, on the second line to open better matchups for him, now we can roll 2 lines both with an elite forward - Minion on 1st and Schwarzer on 2nd. Do you prefer when teams stack their top units, or are you more in favour of spreading the wealth? I think spreading talent is definitely valuable in the playoffs. Nice to perhaps load up and stat pad in the regular season but it takes a team effort to win the cup/ 5. Now the VHLM dispersal draft is behind us. If your player was eligible, how did it ho for you? If not, did you follow it and did you see something that surprised you? Didn't follow too much but I was a little surprised that Cole's player dropped a bit lower than i would have personally anticipated 6. No Cup hangover for the Golden Knights, Bruins still unbeaten after losing a ton of crucial players, Devils struggling and a ton of other weird or unexpected things going on in the NHL. What has been the biggest surprise for you this early in the season, for good or bad reason? The Canucks have been surprsingly alright thus far which has been nice for me to see!
  16. Quick VHLE Power Rankings In preparation for my first ever season in the VHLE, I decided to take a quick skim through the roster pages and make a power ranking that will probably be wrong… 6. Oslo Storm – Roster looks quite barebones, 4 forwards, 2 defenceman and none currently above 300 TPE makes for a long season. 5. Stockholm Vikings – While I’m putting them fifth right now, I wouldn’t be surprised if they make the playoffs. A lot of good high earning S91 players and if they can even just find a fourth defenceman they might be set. The smaller roster might also give them an advantage over some teams who are splitting ice time away from star players. 4. Rome Gladiators – 4 forwards above 300 TPE, a strong defensive duo in Moth and Conference Prince-de-Galles, and Vidarsson in net means they shouldn’t have any problems picking up wins and being a solid dark horse. 3. Bratislava Watchmen – This team has 3 defencemen above 300 TPE and essentially a max TPE goalie, making them tough to play against right out of the gate… and they do say defence wins championships. 2. Vasteras Iron Eagles – 11 forwards, 6 defencemen, and 2 ~ 350 TPE goalies. Don’t think I have ever seen a roster that big in the VHL before! Icing 4 – 400 TPE players already, and 11 300+ TPE skaters total make them an easy cup favourite if they can make things click. 1. Cologne Express – Personal bias here and hard to bet against the defending champs! Another team with 11 forwards (7 that are 300 TPE+) and 3 300 TPE+ defencemen that should finish near the top. tl:dr Tier 1 – Cologne, Vasteras Tier 2 – Bratislava, Rome, Stockholm Tier 3 - Oslo
  17. 1. I'm posting this a few hours after the VHL entry draft. If your player was eligible, how did you do compared to your expectations? If not, the VHLM dispersal draft is coming soon, what are your expectations for the draft? My player was eligible and selected 6th overall to Chicago. Much higher than expected but excited to do my best for the franchise! 2. The Royals were sitting in the 3rd place for most of the tournament, but Rush was able to sneak past us. Can we reclaim the 3rd? In hindsight doesn't look like we were able to but I have no problems taking the hard road to winning the championship 3. Currently we're looking for a way to get the powerplay going. Make a quick case for your player to get more powerplay minutes here! I can shoot pucks good and sometimes you just need to keep it simple and get pucks on net. 4. Other than o you have other big concerns about the team and its performance? Looks like we have been playing sloppy defensively. Will need to clean it up for the playoffs to improve performance. 5. We have a complete roster now, with Viktor Vyzovsky running the Detroit boost joining the team, so now we have two players with some points in fighting. How much do you think this makes us harder to play against? Welcome to the team, nice to have some guys willing to standup for their teammates so the other teams don't take too many liberties. 6. The NHL season has started, finally. What's your team and how have they been doing so far? Been busy so haven't followed much. Usually follow the Canucks and Flames a little and they both look to be doing around .500
  18. Schwarzer Embarks on His VHLE Journey with Cologne Express Joshua Schwarzer's hockey journey continues as he was drafted 12th overall by the Cologne Express in the VHLE Entry Draft. He's eager to embark on this new chapter and make his mark with the two-time defending champions. Joining a championship-caliber team like the Express is an incredible opportunity, but it comes with high expectations. The Express have set the bar high with back-to-back championships, and Schwarzer is determined to contribute to their legacy. "It's an honor to be part of the Cologne Express," Schwarzer commented. "I'm ready to work hard and prove myself in any role that they need me. The team's success speaks for itself, and I want to be a part of their continued dominance." However, the Express's forward depth presents a challenge. With ten forwards on the roster, playing time may be at a premium, but Schwarzer is undeterred. "I'm prepared to give it my all to earn a spot in the top 6 and get some power play and penalty kill time," he stated with determination. "Competition only makes us better, and I'm excited for the challenge." Moreover, Schwarzer's upcoming season with Cologne will give him the chance to play alongside Lionel Collberg, who was also drafted to the Chicago Phoenix. The two promising talents are poised to be key pieces in the Phoenix's future, and building chemistry with Collberg in Cologne will be crucial for their success in Chicago.
  19. Wow what an honour! Thanks so much Frank I truly appreciate it
  20. Schwarzer Selected 6th Overall by Chicago Phoenix in VHL Entry Draft Joshua Schwarzer's dreams have taken a significant step forward as he was chosen 6th overall by the Chicago Phoenix in the VHL Entry Draft. This selection was not only a cause for celebration but also a surprise for the talented young forward, who had initially expected to hear his name called much later in the first round. Schwarzer shared his excitement about joining the Chicago Phoenix, saying, "I'm absolutely thrilled to be a part of this organization. It's an honour to be drafted so high, and I'm grateful for the trust they've placed in me. I'm looking forward to contributing to Chicago's future success." The added twist to this story is that Schwarzer’s agent Velevra will be reuniting with some familiar faces in Chicago, which makes the journey even more special for him. These connections will undoubtedly help him acclimate to his new surroundings and team quickly. However, before donning the Chicago Phoenix jersey in the VHL, Schwarzer will first spend a season in the VHLE to further hone his skills and prepare for the professional league. Fans of the Phoenix can eagerly anticipate Schwarzer's arrival as he embarks on this new chapter of his hockey career, aiming to make a significant impact on the team's fortunes.
  21. 1. Is this your first JST? If it is, what would you consider a success - for you personally and for the team? If it's not, what way your biggest JST success? First JST I believe, don't think it was a thing back when I used to be in the league. Success would be making the finals at least I think! 2. How closely do you follow offseason tournaments? Do you follow them even when you're not directly involved? Usually only follow along with the ones I'm involved in. Checking Index and LR every now and then 3. The first sim is behind us, as I'm writing this. 8 games total, 6 of them saw 10 or more total goals scored, majority of forwards and a good chunk of defensers are over point per game. Do you think this trend will continue throughout the whole tournament? A little late answering these but that first sim was definitely an anomaly due to a different sim version being used. 4. Hand in hand with plethora of goals scored go at first glance underwhelming goaltender stats. No goaltender has a save percentage .900 or higher. Do you think any goalie - perhaps our own Dalkr Vidarsson - can break it and finish with better looking stats than this? Of course, once again I have the benefit of hindsight so things were corrected to be more standard. 5. Don't be afraid to overreact, what do you think about your player's and our team's performance so far? Player seems to be doing alright, we seem to be giving up a good chunk of goals though so wish I could perform a bit better defensively. 6. (After I post this, I'm gonna look at the form and name team's captain(s) so this question is relevant) What do you think of the leadership group of this season's Royals? Do you have some history with any of them? Should be a good group of guys. Some great guys like Zetterberg, Kaleeb, and Tetricide who seem quite active in the league.
  22. Schwarzer Eagerly Anticipates Offseason Opportunities Joshua Schwarzer's hockey journey is taking an exciting turn as he looks ahead to the offseason. Recently, he received the remarkable news that he's been selected 18th overall by the Royals for the upcoming Junior Showcase Tournament (JST). The opportunity to showcase his skills in this prestigious tournament has left Schwarzer elated. "I couldn't be more thrilled," Schwarzer shared. "The Junior Showcase Tournament is a significant stage to demonstrate what I can bring to the ice. It's a chance to play against some of the best young talents out there and make a statement." This selection also bodes well for his future in the VHL and VHLE Entry Drafts during the offseason. When asked about his draft goals he said: "Based on my JST draft position, I'm aiming for a late first-round or early second-round pick in the VHL draft," Schwarzer revealed. "And in the VHLE draft, I'm eyeing the late third round or early fourth round. It's an exciting time, and I'm ready to put in the work to make these goals a reality."
  23. The Rumor mill is churnin and the offseason hasn't even begun, what do you think will happen this offseason? Hope to see some interesting roster shuffles happen for a few teams via trades and free agency! Any way to early WJC nation winner picks? Got to vote for my home country in Canada Any way to early JST team winner picks? I was drafted to the Royals so they are may way too early and biased pick! --- Q1. Is there a certain need that your hope your team is able to address this offseason? Q2. Who do you think will win the VHL/VHLE/VHLM Finals and why? Q3. Any players you think will have a breakout season next year?
  24. 1. With there only being 2 games left in our regular season, do you think we will be able to lock up the 3 seed total and 2nd in the west? A little late but yes I was confident that the team could finish third overall to head into the playoffs 2. How has your players season been? Been pretty good, slowed down on the score sheet but feel like I brought solid defensive play and stability to the second line 3. Do you think you player met your expectations this season? Yup happy to have played a large role in the team's success which is all I wanted for the season 4. Did the Wild meet your expectations this season? I think so though the playoffs will be the ultimate decider of that. Top 3 is good for the season but hopefully we can at least make the finals! 5. What's your go to cheat meal? Way too much pizza 6. What's your go to healthy meal? A simple stir fry
