  1. Saskatoon Wild Midseason Report As the VHLM season reaches its midpoint, the Saskatoon Wild are making a strong case as contenders in the Western Conference with 25 wins, 10 losses, and 4 overtime losses in 39 games. Riding a four-game winning streak, the Wild are displaying consistency and resilience as they chase the top spot thanks to impressive performances from key players. Jorji Costova has been a force to be reckoned with, tallying 17 goals and 21 assists for a total of 38 points. His impressive plus-minus of +16 underscores his two-way prowess, while his 69 hits exemplify his physical presence on the ice. Aeschylus Jigglejawns CXXXVII II has also been a standout center, contributing 12 goals and 20 assists for 32 points. His well-rounded play is reflected in his +18 plus-minus, and he's been a clutch performer with four game-winning goals. On the blue line, Callum Gary Yannick Janser and Rin Kagamine have been defensive stalwarts. They've combined for 10 goals and 42 assists, providing essential offensive support while maintaining solid defensive play. Janser's 129 hits showcase his physicality, while Kagamine's 44 blocked shots highlight their shot-blocking prowess. In the crease, Joseph Reed has been a reliable presence with a stellar 0.907 save percentage and a 2.14 goals-against average. He's notched three shutouts in 36 games, solidifying his status as a top-tier VHLM goaltender. The Saskatoon Wild's midseason performance is a testament to the contributions of these key players. With a strong core and a commitment to excellence, the Wild are poised to make a significant impact as the season progresses.
  2. The Bull Goes Wild In an unexpected turn of events, Joshua Schwarzer's journey through the VHLM took a surprising detour when he was traded from the Houston Bulls to the Saskatoon Wild. The trade, which included Schwarzer and a fourth-round pick, saw the Bulls acquire a valuable first-round pick in return. This move left the hockey world buzzing, as many questioned the rationale behind trading a player drafted in the third round for a prized first-round selection. Schwarzer himself was taken aback by the trade, as he had established himself as a key player for the Bulls. However, he quickly adapted to his new role with the Saskatoon Wild and made a memorable debut against his former team, the Houston Bulls, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Since joining the Wild, Schwarzer has been on a scoring spree, amassing 13 points, including seven goals, in just 10 games. His arrival has breathed new life into the Saskatoon team, which has remained undefeated since his addition. The trade, initially met with skepticism, has proven to be a game-changer for both Schwarzer and the Saskatoon Wild. As the team continues to build on its success with Schwarzer in the lineup, it's clear that this surprising trade has ignited a spark that could lead to great things for the Wild.
  3. 1. With the first full sim week in the books how do you think we are doing as a team? Didn't pay a ton of attention to the team in the first week but since I joined it has been nice to see the team pick up wins! 2. How do you feel your player has been playing? Happy with my player's performance who has been staying over a point per game and playing well defensively 3. What player on the roster do you think deserves to be the wilds captain for the season? I've seen both Alexandros Mograine and CGY Janser posting results and encouraging the team to keep up with updates in the LR, so I would vote for them. 4. Has anything surprised you so far this season? I have been pleasantly surprised by my own player's performance. 5. What is your dream vacation spot? A cruise around the Mediterranean 6. What is your favorite cheat meal? All you can eat Sushi
  4. 1) The season just started, how are you performing so far? Is it up to your expectations? Probably exceeding expectations on a personal level, hope the team can keep finding ways to win more games! 2) What is your expectations for your player for this season? Given my player's hot start, I hope to continue the strong performance and finish off as a top 5 forward in the league. 3) If you could go back in time and watch any goal in hockey history what would it be? Probably Bobby Orr scoring and flying through the air --- 1) What has the biggest surprise so far after a week of sims? 2) Who is a darkhorse to win a championship this season that people are underestimating? 3) Are their certain attributes (e.g SC, DF, PA) you are hoping to improve this season?
  5. Breakout Performance for Houston Bulls Forward Schwarzer In the midst of the VHLM season, Joshua Schwarzer has emerged as a standout player for the Houston Bulls, contributing significantly to the team's efforts on the ice. With a current record of 4 wins, 8 losses, and 1 overtime loss, the Bulls are experiencing a mixed start to the season, but Schwarzer's presence has been a consistent bright spot. Schwarzer's individual performance is nothing short of remarkable, amassing 8 goals and 14 assists in just 13 games played. His impressive point total reflects not only his scoring prowess but also his ability to set up plays and involve his teammates effectively. With a commendable +8 plus-minus rating, Schwarzer's presence on the ice has often correlated with the Bulls' success. Schwarzer shared his thoughts on his transition from a fourth-line role in Philadelphia to being a key player for the Bulls: "It's been an invigorating change. While my previous role was important, stepping into a more substantial role here has been incredibly motivating. I'm embracing the added responsibilities and relishing the chance to contribute more. It's a testament to the organization's trust in me, and I'm determined to live up to that expectation." As the VHLM season progresses, the Bulls focus remains on development throughout the season and Schwarzer hopes to continue to be a driving force behind the team's efforts to climb the standings.
  6. 1. What are your thoughts about your first season in the league? Have you found your GM/AGM helpful? Looking forward to my first full season! STZ has offered help to some of our newer league members in the LR which is nice to see! 2. How long do you plan to stay in the VHLM? Do you plan on eventually being in the VHL or staying in Europe (I hear it's nice there)? Given that I am pretty much at 200 TPE I would assume I play in the VHLE next season and then hopefully make the VHL someday! 3. Who's the most suspicious player (by name, style, or karaoke skills) in the league? Reinhard von Kongming for sure. I don't think that is his real name and he is always shifty when I see him 4. If you participate in #general on the main Discord, who's your favorite regular and why? If you don't, why not? Don't regularly check the channel but have sometimes when I play games with some VHLers. Big Nykonax fan personally. 5. If you had an opportunity to have the whole world/league listen to you during a press conference and could say anything, what would you want to tell them about? I would probably just get shy and awkward and mumble to myself. 6. Do you have more fun answering questions about your player's season/performance, their off-season/leisure plans, or things about you in real life? I generally like questions more focused on my player/team performance but open for anything!
  7. Houston Bulls Hope to Surprise in Upcoming VHLM Season As the VHLM season approaches its kickoff, the Houston Bulls are hoping to exceed expectations with a team that has defied initial predictions. Despite having limited high-round picks, the Bulls have managed to assemble a squad that boasts both talent and potential, showcasing their adept management skills. With only one second-round pick, Toby Kadachi, and one third-round pick, Joshua Schwarzer, the Bulls have proved that quality trumps quantity. The team's prowess in scouting and drafting has been evident, as they strategically selected players like Isaac Mcflopper, Pipo Popa, Joseph Holm, and Luna Everdeen in later rounds, all of whom have shown promising potential. The players, hungry to prove themselves, have a shared goal of enhancing their draft stock in both the VHL and VHLE. With determination fueling their efforts, they are poised to make a significant impact on the ice and put the league on notice. Despite facing challenges, the Bulls are entering the season with high spirits. Their optimism is fueled by the belief that their collective dedication and hard work will translate into success on the scoreboard. Ultimately, Bulls fans who had low expectations of the team heading into the draft have found themselves with a new wind of optimism and excitement for the upcoming season as their team plans to charge forward and seize every opportunity that comes their way.
  8. Schwarzer Excited for VHLM Season in Houston Joshua Schwarzer's journey took an unexpected turn as he was drafted by the Houston Bulls in the third round of the VHLM draft, going at the 29th overall pick. The versatile player, initially anticipating a mid-second-round selection, expressed a hint of surprise. "I was definitely caught off guard dropping to the third round and landing in Houston," Schwarzer admitted. "I had my sights set on a slighter earlier pick, but I believe everything happens for a reason." Schwarzer's outlook remains optimistic as he eagerly anticipates the upcoming season. His agent’s familiarity with the Houston Bulls' General Manager, STZ, adds an element of comfort. "Having a connection with STZ gives me confidence. I know the team values my potential," he shared. Looking forward to a fresh start, Schwarzer is determined to make his presence felt on the ice, aspiring to play a pivotal role in the Bulls' success in the upcoming VHLM season.
  9. 1. Are you participating in the VHFL this season, if so what pick are you and how do you think you're gonna do? I am indeed and had the 2nd overall pick, ended up selecting Frank's player so I hope he has a good season! 2. What are your thoughts on the condensing of the E? Seems like a healthy decision if the 8 teams weren't full. Will be interesting next year since I believe the S91 draft class is larger than usual. 3. What are your expectations for your player entering this season? Hope to play an increased role this season with Houston now that I have some more TPE under my belt. Put up some points and have some solid defensive play Questions: 1) Which team in the VHL/VHLE/VHLM do you think had a great offseason? 2) What are your player's performance goals for the upcoming season? 3) Which player in any league do you think will have a breakout season?
  10. VHLM Draft Combine Culture Fits I was excited to head into the VHLM Draft Combine to participate in some draft interviews. To my surprise all the teams had some interesting questions to gauge culture fit. Here were my takeaways for each team: San Diego Marlins: Their coach apparently likes to have players trade their flippers for skates during practice so they can swim through the ice like... fish out of water? I guess they won the cup, so the practice paid off. Mexico City Kings: These royal rulers of the rink are always ready to serve up a fiesta on ice. With their mandatory pre-game taco feasts, I worry I may need to take some bathroom breaks during the games though. Houston Bulls: This team sure loves their physical play. The GM made it very clear I need to be prepared charging onto the ice like a bull in a china shop – or rather, a hockey rink. Las Vegas Aces: These high-rolling aces are betting on their skills to win the jackpot. They believe in going all in every play and when we lose, we must all blame Simon for dealing us a "bad hand"? Saskatoon Wild: From the wilds of Saskatchewan, players on this team aren’t allowed to shave their beards all season. Also we must break into a howling chorus after a goal – it's all part of the wilderness vibe. Philadelphia Reapers: My former team! The reapers are here to harvest goals and take no prisoners and also do weekly team scary movie nights. Ottawa Lynx: The coach is big on prowling the ice to be ready to pounce on any loose pucks. And also practice drills where we chase laser pointers around. Mississauga Hounds: These hounds are hot on the scent of victory, and they're not about to let the competition escape. I was sold about this fit but I’m unsure about the post-game tail-wagging celebrations! Miami Marauders: I’m already bought into the culture in Miami just need to always talk like a pirate, score goals and take home the championship. I mean plunder goals and take home the treasure chest. Halifax 21st: These guys are big into analytics who needs the 20th century when you've got the 21st on your side? These players are armed with the best of modern technology, I just hope they don’t replace me with an AI.
  11. 1. what do you think about the new salary cap announcement? Haven't followed the exact specifics but I think it's good for a league to adapt and make changes as the league changes rather than always just staying stagnant with "old rules" that may not make sense anymore. 2. favorite car? or a vehicle you always wanted to own? A bright red Toyota Corolla 3. PlayStation or Xbox? (both are shit but still) I currently own a Playstation so will throw my vote that way. Also enjoy some of the exclusives such as God of War. Questions: 1) What is your favourite part of the off-season? 2) Does your player like to take some time off to relax in the off-season or is it all about the training? 3) Who is your early favourite to win the championship next season in your league?
  12. VHLM Finals: San Diego Marlins Lead Tight Series Against Philadelphia Reapers The VHLM Finals have taken hockey fans on a thrilling ride, as the San Diego Marlins and the Philadelphia Reapers battle it out for championship glory. The series, a best of seven showdown, has been nothing short of nail-biting, with every game decided by a single goal and two of the contests extending into nerve-wracking overtime periods. The intensity and competitiveness on display have kept fans on the edge of their seats. As it stands, the San Diego Marlins currently hold a 3-1 series lead, putting them one victory away from clinching the title. The close nature of the games reflects the razor-thin margin between these two talented teams, with every shift and play carrying immense significance. Throughout the Finals, both teams have showcased their defensive prowess and the brilliance of their goaltenders. With no team managing to score more than three goals in a single game, it's evident that the goalies have been in exceptional form, making spectacular saves and keeping the scores tight. As game five approaches, the pressure mounts for the Reapers. The Marlins are looking to close out the finals on the road with another victory, while the Reapers aim to rally back and force a dramatic comeback. Who will emerge victorious in the VHLM Finals? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain – this series will be remembered as a showcase of the very best that the VHLM has to offer. The players' dedication to their craft, the teamwork displayed on the ice, and the unforgettable goaltending performances have made this finals a spectacle to behold.
  13. Ask 1. The VHLE teams contracted were decided based on branding and team history - was this the right decision or should current roster situation have taken precedent? I imagine any decision would have been a tough one and it's hard to please everyone. I might have split the difference and done 1 of the swedish teams with a worse roster and then 1 of the newer teams as well. 2. What is one area of the league that you believe is pretty much perfect and cannot be improved upon? Things could probably always be iterated and improved on but I really loved the change of trivia being incorporated / automated in the portal. Kudos to the team who implemented that. 3. Who are two members of the BOG or admin team that could be alts? Uh I honestly don't know. I see Nykonox is now on the BOG apparently so maybe he has a sneaky alt as someone Questions: 1. I'm set to be drafted to the VHLM. What VHLM team did you play for and what was your experience with them like? 2. What is your favourite branding in the league (or top 3) given the recent discussions on removing teams based on branding? 3. What are your player's go to toppings on a pizza?
  14. 1 - Do you have a favorite video game? Hmm hard to decide on just one but maybe Mass Effect 2? Q2 - Do you care who wins the VHL championship this year? I haven't followed the big leagues much since I joined but perhaps the Vancouver Wolves due to Frank and some old player connections. Q3 - Does your team have an on-site locker room? I don't believe so since I was only shared a discord link but I could be wrong. -------------- 1. How do you feel about league parity at the moment? 2. Do you prefer your players to be drafted high for the fame or lower for the underdog story and proving people wrong? 3. What sort of music do you listen to in order to get you pumped for a big game?
  15. Schwarzer Makes VHLM Playoffs Debut As the VHLM playoffs kick into gear, some scouts have started to notice talented rookie Joshua Schwarzer, who has become a nice complimentary piece of the puzzle for the Philadelphia Reapers. With the Reapers already up 2-0 on the Miami Marauders in the first round, the team's sights are set on the ultimate prize, and Schwarzer wants to be instrumental in their championship aspirations. In the two playoff games played thus far, Schwarzer has showcased his potential with every stride on the ice. Despite averaging just 9.68 minutes of ice time per game, he has made each moment count. The rookie forward has demonstrated his scoring ability, netting an important goal that helped swing the momentum in favor of the Reapers. Additionally, he has shown his physicality with two impressive hits, letting his opponents know he's a force to be reckoned with. One of Schwarzer's most noteworthy attributes during the playoffs has been his commendable +2 plus-minus rating. This statistic reflects his effectiveness on both ends of the ice, showing that he's not just contributing offensively but also playing a crucial role in the Reapers' defensive efforts. While Schwarzer's individual statistics may not dominate the scoresheet, his willingness to embrace his role and make a difference in limited minutes has impressed both teammates and coaching staff alike. With the playoffs being a high-stakes and pressure-packed environment, having players like Schwarzer who can thrive and deliver under these circumstances is a massive advantage for the Reapers. While the Reapers are up 2-0 on the Miami Marauders, Schwarzer knows the series isn’t over yet. In the remaining games, has set his sights on an even more significant challenge: shutting down Miami's top players, including the formidable Alexandre Crosby. In his post-game interview, Schwarzer acknowledged the challenge, saying, "Facing players like Alexandre Crosby is what playoff hockey is all about. I take pride in being a well-rounded player, and part of that means stepping up defensively to neutralize the opposition's threats. He already has four points in these past two games, so I have to do my part in limiting his impact on the ice to close out the series." The playoffs also act as the perfect opportunity for S91 rookies to prove their mettle, and Joshua Schwarzer is seizing this moment with tenacity and skill. With each game, he gains invaluable experience, learning from the intensity and pressure of postseason play. As he continues to grow and evolve as a player, his impact on the Reapers' championship run could prove to be the X-factor that sets them apart. When asked about the upcoming VHLM draft and his thoughts on the possibility of returning to the Philadelphia Reapers, he humbly stated, "The draft is an exciting time for any player, and while I would love to be drafted high and have the opportunity to return to the Reapers, my main focus right now is on the playoff run. We have a great group of guys here, and our goal is to bring home the championship. Everything else will fall into place when the time comes. For now, my heart and mind are fully dedicated to supporting my teammates and doing whatever it takes to help this team succeed in the playoffs." Assuming the Reapers can close out the series, they will eagerly await the outcome of the intense series between the Mississauga Hounds and the Mexico City Kings. As the series stands tied at 1-1, it's anyone's guess which team the Reapers will face next.
  16. 1. How is the season going for your team? Is it going as expected? The season is going great! I had the privilege of joining the Reapers who are the top dogs in the VHLM. Hopefully the success carries over to the playoffs. 2. What is the biggest surprise for you this season? I just returned at the trade deadline so not really sure about what expectations were at the start of the season. I think overall I was surprised how much fuller VHLM teams are now than they were in the past though. 3. What is your player’s go to celebration? On the ice just a simple fist pump. Off the ice an nice sushi dinner! --------- 1. Are you looking forward to the playoffs? If not, how about the off-season? 2. Anything exciting so far about the summer? 3. Who do you think should be the MVP of the league you are in?
  17. Joshua Schwarzer Showing Promise in the VHLM As the Victory Hockey League Minors season unfolds, a new rookie has caught the attention of hockey enthusiasts with his steady progress and determined play. Joshua Schwarzer, the newcomer for the Philadelphia Reapers, is making strides in his debut season, leaving a mark on the ice and in the hearts of fans. Having played 18 games so far, Schwarzer has already shown glimpses of his potential. With 3 goals and 5 assists to his name, he is proving to be a valuable asset to the Reapers, contributing to crucial plays and elevating the team's performance. Beyond his contributions on the score sheet, Schwarzer is continuously adapting to the fast-paced nature of the VHLM, getting more comfortable with each game. His dedication to improvement has not gone unnoticed, and his teammates and coaching staff have lauded his work ethic and willingness to learn. What sets Schwarzer apart is his ambition to become a solid defensive player as the season progresses. Recognizing the importance of supporting the team in crucial moments, he aims to be a reliable and dependable presence on the ice during the playoffs.
  18. Thanks so much @Frank! This is amazing Hope you have been doing well and glad to see you still around!
  19. The Return of Velevra: Joshua Schwarzer Joins the Philadelphia Reapers in the Victory Hockey League In a stunning comeback to the Victory Hockey League (VHL), renowned user Velevra has made his triumphant return, this time under a new persona: Joshua Schwarzer. Velevra, known for his… well I’m not actually quite sure what I’m known for other than all the updating work I used to do but regardless I’m quite grateful for all the warm welcomes With ambitions of learning from legendary players, Schwarzer has chosen to embark on his hockey journey with the renowned Philadelphia Reapers. The VHLM serves as the perfect platform for young talents to make a name for themselves. Schwarzer's entry into the league has sparked curiosity and anticipation, as fans eagerly await his development under the guidance of established Reaper players such as Eno Velvson and Mina. As a fresh face in the Reapers' roster, Schwarzer brings with him a hunger to learn and a determination to prove himself. With the mentorship of Velvson and Mina, both accomplished players in their own right, he has a golden opportunity to hone his skills and develop a deeper understanding of the game. When asked for comment Schwarzer said “I always dreamed of handing out water bottles to legendary players such as Eno Velvson and Mina. I will make sure they are well hydrated for their playoff run!”
  20. 1. NHL offseason has begun!!!! What moves you liking so far if you pay attention to it at all. If you don't know much about the NHL what do you hope your team in any sport accomplishes this year in general? Haven't been following a ton but some highlights for me have been the suspected Flames blowup and the drama in Toronto with the departure of Dubas. Also the Canucks buying out OEL. 2. Do we miss the Key Tracker? I've been busy and would love to retroactively go back and hand them out if people want it but I'll gauge interest here. Not quite sure what that was but happy for it to come back and check it out! 3. What team if any are we dreading meeting in the postseason? Houston and San Diego look like the other top dogs at the moment so I would keep an eye out for them. 4. Do we want more emojis of my cat in the discord? I advise all the emojis as possible. 5. We are doing well with the roster we have, but should we be considering trading for assets to bolster for the playoffs? I would have stuck to what was working and not change much in order to keep the chemistry going. 6. Former cup winner and 2x Reaper Jeffery Blake is OTB, do we trade for the franchise legend and let him ride the pine to his second ship, or is that a waste of time? I think trading for him sounds great but he should play! I'm hoping to ride the pine to a championship on the coattails of Nykonax myself.
