  1. TBH I'm not sure yet. It's definitely breathed life into and revolutionized the action genre, and it's clearly the biggest subgenre out there to the point where the case can be made that it's its own genre, but I think it needs to prove more staying power first personally.
  2. I'm not saying it's gonna die completely. I'm just saying it's going to reach the point where their plans and massive 'phases' aren't going to be viable. Just because I say the bubble's going to burst doesn't mean I don't believe there's ever going to be superhero movies after that. At best it's going to come to a point where a couple of the franchises remain popular while others die off and fall out for a while before maybe another attempted reboot.
  3. Yeah I liked Stephen and was pulling for the runner up while knowing the eventual winner would probably win because she was the more sappy choice, although I did like her so I wasn't annoyed by it or anything.
  4. Master of None and Parks and Rec are great as well. As far as reality TV shows, as some of you know I'm really big into Hell's Kitchen. I actually skipped the most recent season, the first time I've done it, because I accidentally saw who the winner was, and because I got annoyed by the first episode where eeeeeeeeeveryone had a story (one girl went to prison, one lady's a mom, one guy's from New Jersey which suffices for a story to them, etc.). I'm also into Masterchef, but that can get pretty heavy-handed. The winner has always been the sappiest choice (including the winner of season 3 who was so obvious from the moment she made the top 20 or whatever that I nearly stopped watching the show after). Hmm, maybe I'll bring VHL Hell's Kitchen back. Or, you know, write two episodes and then walk away from it.
  5. There we go, I knew I forgot something -- Whose Line. That'd probably slot in at #4 for me. And I know we've had this debate before so I won't get into it but just know I disagree with you wholeheartedly re: Sunny. It's at the point where I catch new seasons on Netflix because I don't care enough to go out of my way to see them. Season 10 had two episodes I didn't watch in full the first time because they felt so 'been there, done that' with certain character interactions that I didn't really care to see where they went. Also, speaking of Walton Goggins, anyone see HBO's new show Vice Principals? It's not for everyone, the main characters are all grade A assholes, but it's a pretty entertaining show if you can bear that sort of thing.
  6. Boardwalk Empire was my favorite show of all time for a long time and I honestly didn't think anything could knock it off for a while until Peaky Blinders out-Boardwalk-Empire'd it. It's definitely a slower show but if you have interest in gangster shows/movies, 1920s prohibition America is a great backdrop for it.
  7. After 4 points in his first 15 games with Cologne Delicious finally delivers!
  8. Dennis from the SBA although I've been Muffins here for much longer.
  9. Psshh, my SBA NCAA sims all go in one thread so I just gotta post NCAA Sim #.
  10. I did my due dilligence and looked two pages for a general thread for this and couldn't find it. What's everyone watching now/what's everyone's favorite shows? Aside from Thrones obviously, I know you guys never stop watching that. Just recently watched Rick and Morty and am 2 episodes away from finishing Community. R&M was about as good as I was expecting it to be, Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon are beasts. Community's interesting for me, season 1 was great, and seasons 2 and 3 are really the sweet spot. I stopped watching long ago after hearing about how bad season 4 was but recently watched some favorite episodes which eventually got me back to watching everything. S4 was okay, I didn't hate it as much as a lot of people but I feel like I mainly liked it because I was invested into the characters. S5 and S6 are solid but it's tough to get through sometimes without some of the characters that have left. I'd say my listing of top 10 favorite shows of all time would probably have to be: 1. Peaky Blinders (ainec) 2. Boardwalk Empire (still need to finish the last season) 3. Breaking Bad 4. Arrested Development 5. One Piece (I'm about 10 real episodes behind) 6. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (until Season 7, everything after feels like it's just going through the motions) 7. Game of Thrones (stopped watching after season 4 because I'm not a big fan of books 4 and 5, I might get back into it but probably wanna read book 6 first) 8. Sons of Anarchy (first 5 seasons are great, season 6 was bad enough that I've never seen the last season and don't plan on it) 9. Rick and Morty 10. Community Probably forgetting about some stuff. But yeah. What's everyone else watching and shit?
  11. TBH that scale's a little too tough to me. Let's say you have a balanced VHLM defenseman, your build at 175 TPE would be around: Checking: 50 Fighting: 40 Discipline: 40 Skating: 60 Strength: 50 Puck Handling: 50 Faceoffs: 40 Passing: 60 Scoring: 57.5 Defense: 70 Penalty Shot: 40 Experience: 40 Leadership: 40 IMO a scale that's too harsh doesn't allow for enough variance at lower TPE levels (like the VHLM). Now to go into travelling snake oil salesman mode here, I'm gonna once again advocate for my proposed scale since I'm not in the BOD. It is: 40-60: 1 point 60-70: 2 points 70-80: 3 points 80-90: 4 points 90-95: 5 points 95-99: 7 points So that's 163 to max an attribute. A 175 TPE balanced defenseman would be: Checking: 55 Fighting: 40 Discipline: 40 Skating: 70 Strength: 60 Puck Handling: 60 Faceoffs: 40 Passing: 60 Scoring: 60 Defense: 70 Penalty Shot: 40 Experience: 40 Leadership: 40 I feel like this scale works because it affects VHLM builds enough to create variance at the bottom while not feeling like your player really sucks even at the 175 cap, but it still makes it tougher at the top to dominate enough. Here's that same guy at 1,000 TPE under my proposed scale: Checking: 95 Fighting: 40 Discipline: 40 Skating: 99 Strength: 95 Puck Handling: 95 Faceoffs: 40 Passing: 95 Scoring: 95 Defense: 98 6/7 Penalty Shot: 40 Experience: 40 Leadership: 40 As you can see, even with 1,000 TPE applied, this player can be goat but not maxed out, and that doesn't apply to too many members since most of the people here can't get 1,000 TPE applied before first depreciation.
  12. Feedback: Pretty simple sig here, could use more going on in the background. The sig is too dark, mainly at the edges but in the center as well. The text could use better font choice and the lighting on it draws the eye away from the render which should be the main focus here most of the time.
  13. Feedback: Pretty simple sig here, could use more going on in the background. The sig is too dark, mainly at the edges but in the center as well. The text could use better font choice and the lighting on it draws the eye away from the render which should be the main focus here most of the time.
  14. Feedback: The text really needs to be blended in here, it stands out way too much against the sig. The stock over the render looks a bit low quality, try to stick to stocks that don't have too many different colors. The person that's over/to the right of the render also doesn't really fit here.
  15. Feedback: Nice and simple but it looks great. The text looks phenomenal and the lighting looks great on the render, although it's a bit too bright where it hits the background. Could maybe crop off a bit of the left side as well.
  16. Feedback: Very interesting and creative background work. The sig as a whole is too dark and I'm not a fan of the text being smudged in parts; the background would also benefit from being a bit smoother imo, the texture of it makes it look LQ in places.
  17. Feedback: Nice and creative, I like it. Color work looks great and the lighting works. Only thing I'd say is that the main text is hard to read.
  18. Feedback: Main text looks great, subtext is a bit too small to read, you know the drill. I like the background work and effects, although the render's face is a bit too underblended and I'm not a big fan of the lighting here.
  19. Feedback: Text work is clean as always, although the subtext is a bit to small and thus hard to read. I like the background work and the blending, although the lighting is a bit too flat.
  20. Feedback: I like the main text a lot, it looks clean as hell. Subtext could use some work, it's really flat compared to the main text and the second 'e' in draftee is hard to read. I don't mind the monotone, but the sig could use some better lighting to really jazz it up.
  21. Feedback: Solid work, simple but effective. Lighting could be stronger, the render's hair is a bit too negative in parts and the edges of the sig are kinda wasted space because they're just black, but overall I like what you have here.
  22. Feedback: I like the sig but I have some gripes with it. The colors don't really flow well from left to right, and the white space to the left of the render and on the right of the sig kinda bring this sig down. I'm also not a big fan of part of the text being blurred.
  23. Feedback: Background could really use some texture and the lighting takes up too much of the sig making the whole thing look like a gradient. Font choice could definitely be better as well.
  24. Feedback: Great work, everything here flows really well together and you pulled off the grunge very well. Only minor gripe is that the lighting is too subtle, but good job.
