  1. Aaaaand we're back! It feels like the last tournament just ended, but maybe we're just all coming down from the high that was the S75 WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP! https://imgur.com/o5FnilL We're here in the JOB APPLICATIONS forum because we need to hire GMs for this elite minor league tournament. Getting a GM gig here pretty much automatically guarantees you'll get a VHLM GM job. Just ask Thad. You want this job. Apply here. We need five general managers to run each of the teams in the tourney. This is an amazing opportunity for newer members, or experien
  2. Welcome back to coverage of the World Junior Championship here on VSN, today we will be reviewing how each team performed from 5th place down to the Gold Medalists. We will be taking a look at what went right and what went wrong for each of the teams. The S75 edition of the World Junior Championships ended up being a massive tale of rematches and revenge from S74 in both the Bronze and Gold medal games. Without further ado, let's begin the WJC recap! 5TH PLACE: TEAM ASIA GM: @Blazzer Round-Robin Record: 2-4-2 Lost Medal Round Qualifier against Team Canada Unfortunately for G
  3. It's the moooost wonderful time of the yeaaaaar This year is a special year for the World Junior Championship. An in-season tournament was fun, but let's be real, we need some excitement in the offseason so it was a great choice to move the WJC til after the Founder's Cup is awarded. We need five general managers to run each of the teams in the tourney. This is an amazing opportunity for newer members, or experienced members wanted to get into the management side of things. Your mission, if you choose to accept, will be to: Choose a full team, incl
  4. The rosters are set, the teams are preparing, and the players are ready to represent their nation(s) proudly. It’s time for the annual World Junior Championships! Every season, young players from across the globe compete with one another to see which team will take home the gold, silver, and bronze. Last season it was Team USA in a thrilling 3-2 victory over Team Europe; will they be able to recreate their success? Or will another come to take their place? Without further ado, let’s take a look at the teams to see who’s who, what’s what, and which team we at VSN think will take it all. In alph
  5. Before I announce the roster for this season's Team World, I first want to say that I'm very grateful to have been selected as GM for this team. I'm super excited that I got a chance to come back in a different way. I also want to give a huge thanks to @Zetterberg for helping me through this process. And without further ado... 6. It's that time of the season again. The WJC is up and coming and Team World is finalizing it's roster. World has not been blessed with as many accolades compared to other teams, and yet me @Zetterberg aim to build off the success of last season and form a team that rivals all the rest. A team united under one banner. No matter where you are, where you come from, we are all united. Because We are World. And to all those other teams out there, don't expect us to back down without a fight.
  7. It's you against the world, and we're coming for you.
  8. “It is easy to love your friend, but sometimes the hardest lesson to learn is to love your enemy.” - Sun Tzu As the WJC was nearing it's end, I had one prank left to execute. I would say it's my most impactful one yet. Something so shocking, so impossible to predict, that no one saw coming. It was the last few games of the round robin before the medal rounds. I knew for a fact that two teams will not win a medal in this tournament since there's only room for gold, silver, and bronze. So I thought it would be nice to give those teams a nice consolation prize. I had boug
  9. Thank You Thank you to the WJC in allowing these prospects a chance in representing, not just their countries, but the unity of earth on the international stage. The troubling times we face in the real world today encourage us to stand side by side. Whether it be our friends in the locker room, the fierce competition on the ice, or management and coaching staff, I want to wish you all good luck on your campaigns. Special thank you to Zetterberg, the Team World AGM and former two time Team World GM, for helping me get the groove of things. He's been a huge help to preparing fo

  13. "Man, what a fun ride that was!" James Rose, amidst the failure of moving onward past the semi finals in the s72 World Junior Championship, truly cherished his experience. "It was simply incredible to play with and against such awesome players. I had played with Kamenov last season in Mexico, Mjers was my defense partner in Halifax at the start of this season and we had some pretty great games over there, before we got moved to other teams. Now I play with Riley Knight Gee in Houston and we didn't get paired together but hey, I'm not the coach or in management. We're

  17. World Junior's Berth for LeBastard Not All That Miami Mauraders captain Andre LeBastard has been selected for the World Junior Hockey Championships set to commence shortly. Although, confusingly the player will not represent the nation of his birth: Canada, but instead will suit up for...well we think it is the world team but we are not quite sure. It would appear that every nation involved in the competition seems to share the one locker room, which, it has been reported, is making things very confusing. Not only is it quite tight trying to get dressed for practice, b

  19. From Outside to Insider, Shaka Lawal Eyes "Next Chapter" With USA Hockey On Monday, USA Hockey sent the sports world into a frenzy when they hired former SBA General Manager Shaka Lawal, a relative hockey-outsider, as Executive Director of the USA Junior National Team. The move, both heckled in inquisitiveness and praised for it's convergent thinking, showcases USA Hockey's desire to return to Gold form in S72 while simultaneously experimenting in culture-driven leadership. On Thursday, Lawal spoke on the move and elaborated on the "next chapter" in his illustrious sports managemen

  22. Spencer Elsby was one of the 4 youngest for Team Asia at the world junior championship. Team Asias GM was well aware these young men are just as talented if not more than the others that showed up to camp 2 or even 3 years older. I picked these young men for a reason and I am so happy and proud of all their performances. “I thought there youth certainly showed in it, each game you could see the young guys learning from the vets and using new skills that rubbed off from playing with great leaders” said Team Asias coach following his team’s 7-5 loss to Europe in the Gold

  24. Two months ago in Espoo, Finland , Spence Elsby Sr , GM of the Colorado Avalanche in the FNHL, was asked what he planned to do get back to the national level now that he had found himself back where he'd long wished to be and long should have been. After the still very untold and limited information leading up to Elsby Sr being blackballed during his playing career and seeing that happen again after amazing success as a GM in the OHL , people are finally getting past whatever happened and realizing this mans IQ and ability to assess players skills, and weakness and the intangible quality and k
