Veteran Presence - Rhynex Entertainment

 

Veteran presence? Well I guess it's true that Rhynex Entertainment is already the longest serving player on the young New York Americans team, but certainly not much of a veteran presence. There is just too much to learn, too much that is a mystery in the league known as the VHL.

 

The VHL experience and dream was not what Rhynex Entertainment had expected during his rookie season in S75. Rhynex Entertainment had a fantastic offensive and productive season as a rookie. He led all rookies with 35 goals and 54 assists in 72 games for 89 points! On top of that, his production came with a lack of assistance of a veteran presence on the New York Americans. But somehow, apparently production does not win you awards, in the terms for the Rookie of the Year. In fact Rhynex Entertainment did not even get a single vote for the honours. He was told his defensive game is not there.

 

Then came S76 where Rhynex Entertainment helped rookie superstar forward Red Lite win the Rookie of the Year as Red Lite led all rookies with 39 goals, 41 assists in 72 games for 80 points. Wait. Red Lite won because of production, given Rhynex Entertainment had a better defensive season on a weaker team than Red Lite. How mysterious! This is the wonderful game of hockey and the mysteriousness of the VHL. Another reason to why Rhynex Entertainment does not claim to be a Veteran in the league. Definitely a lack of knowledge of how the league works. Much, much to learn about how to be great in this league know as the VHL!

 

Furthermore, using his experience and the teachings of others, it has been said that training checking would help defensively and having more defensive mind than offensive would provide with more assists, but that production did not seem quite accurate. Rhynex Entertainment's production did not show a sign of being a massive productive assister, as he had shown in the VHLM where he won the Vladimir Boomchenko Trophy for leading the VHLM with assists in Season 74. In fact, Rhynex Entertainment finds himself scoring more goals instead, which isn't a bad thing. Moreover, with the increase in checking from training many, many hours, there does not seem to be any improvement to the amount of hitting or shot blocking for Rhynex Entertainment. Certainly a mystery, yet to be solved for the young forward. Simulation is a very mysterious phenomenon in the VHL!

 

With so much to learn, so much growth on the way. It's hard to talk about "veteran presence". Hopefully as time goes by, things will clear up and Rhynex Entertainment can finally enter the realms of a veteran.
