Thing X = this player making it up to the big league this season Player Y = that player A big part of this deal for me was clearing out roster space, and this was a player who might be able to make it up if they wanted to. It wouldn't exactly be great for us if they did, but I'm not about to discourage anyone from coming up and this provides a way to make the situation viable for us either way.
