Jorgen Von Strangle

RW | 6' 3" | 213 lb. | Age: 17 | DE.png

Born originally in downtown Fairy World, Jorgen immigrated to Germany at the age of 15 to pursue his passion for hockey. Bursting onto the professional stage competing in the DEL for 2 seasons Jorgen walked away with a goal scoring title, playoff MVP award and a DEL championship in his final season. Looking to prove that he has what it takes to move forward Jorgen is looking to take his talents to the VHLM and participated in the junior showcase tournament. In his 12 showcase games Jorgen put up 3 goals and 4 assists with an average of 18.75 minutes per game. Along with contributing offensively Jorgen had more takeaways then giveaways and finished his 12 games as a +6 while being on a team who struggled defensively. While the sample size is limited, it appears that Von Strangle will be a valuable 2-way contributor in his career.

Pros

Defence: Standing at 6'3'' Jorgen takes full advantage of his reach and height. He is not afraid to get into puck battles in the corners and it's not often you will see him lose one. His defensive play style makes him a puck possession machine and only helps him get the puck out of his zone and into the opponents net. Along with proper development he should be a coaches dream as he moves up in his career.

Shooting: As a result of his long reach and massive muscles Jorgen has a stunner of a one timer. He looks to take advantage of scoring opportunities all over the ice. It doesn't matter what the scenario is, as long as he has a clean shot he will take it. Combined with his high puck possession numbers, Jorgen sends multiple pucks on net every game. This combination of powerful and high volume shooting is a goalies worst nightmare.

Cons

Fighting: Due to his large frame many people are surprised to hear that one of Jorgens weaknesses is fighting. Despite his intimidating appearance and willingness to participate in puck battles, he is often unwilling to fight in games. When he does choose to drop the hits his punches appear uncoordinated and lazy. It appears fighting is something he has no interest in and we should expect that to remain the same going forward.

Von Strangle appears to be a motivated young prospect who wants to establish himself in the league as one of the greatest 2-way forwards in to ever do it. Only time will tell if he is successful but it is certainly a goal that many teams will find appealing to have on their roster.
