1. What is going on in Davos? Older GM stepped away not so long ago. The new GM was announced and they have been busy at work by the look of it. Already we have seen two key players being traded away. Peepants went to Malmo and Tsujimoto went to Seattle. Those two trades brought back two first-round picks, a second-round pick, and a few third-round picks. What makes these trades interesting is the fact that Tsujimoto is the player of the previous GM, and Peepants is the player of an extremely active podcaster. Tsujimoto is retiring after next year, so it makes sense on some level to trade him away, but then again that is a tough call for the new GM to make. Keep the previous GM around or get rid of him? Trading Tsujimoto just for picks doesn't send a positive message to the remaining players. The Davos roster has quite a few older players who want to win now. When you get just picks in return, the team is not going to win now. Unless more trades are going to happen.

Peepants is a young defender who is known for his passing. He is one of the youngest players in the organization and someone that you could expect to be a leading player for years to come. Interesting decision to move a player like him. We can assume, that after the new GM came in players were given the opportunity to request a trade. If the new GM out of the blue got rid of Peepants, that would be a surprise and something that has to provoke some comments back and forth among Davos fans.

2. Analysis of trade thread messages

2.1 Tsujimoto

Here is a direct quote by the Seattle GM right after the trade was finished:

''*alex* Thanks for your offer and the great talks. ''

From that we can come to a clear conclusion that Alex offered Tsujimoto to Seattle. ''Thanks for your offer'' also reveals that Seattle GM could not wait to complete the deal. The casual nature of the statement is revealing. Veteran GM trying to keep things neutral and professional. We can also assume the Seattle GM was surprised that Tsujimoto was offered to Seattle as very little is said about the offer, other than the offer was appreciated. The contrast between the start of the quote and end shows that the Seattle GM was suprised to receive the offer. ''Great talks'' at the end suggests that both GM's were able to come into agreement in a quick fashion, which shows that a certain level of desperation was involved from the Davos GM side. Davos was selling and had to get a deal done fast. Perhaps the Davos GM felt that sending Taro to a team like Seattle is only ''right'' and that is where the desperation comes. Davos GM wanted to send Tsujimoto to a team that could win the championship. That is a clear sign of things to come in Davos. The current GM thinks Taro has a better chance to win somewhere else than in Davos. More trades coming?

2.2 Peepants

Here is a direct quote by Peepants after the trade was finished:

''Malmo overpaid, but I'm happy they're not cowing to the meta! Big thanks to *gustavmattias* for drafting incorrectly and being a top bloke. I'll miss the rest of the Davos squad, but I'll enjoy lurking General and being Traitorous Filth. David.''

Overpayment is mentioned. Is that Peepants being humble or too honest? Two first-round picks are a lot of value. Davos is not able to replace a player like Peepants. If they aim to do it via the draft, that is going to be at least three seasons from now before the replacement reaches Peepants current level. ''Cowing to the meta''. Now that is a revealing statement. When we look at the Davos GM, Alex. Their player is in Helsinki. Alex's player is clearly a shoot-first type of player. Combined with the decision to trade solid passer in Peepants, and Peepants comment, are we going to see a clear change of culture in Davos? Is Davos moving towards ''meta''? Is that the reason why Peepants wanted out? Is that the reason UnGuri has not signed a new deal? Peepants states that he will miss ''rest of the Davos squad'' and that he enjoys ''lurking general''. We can assume Peepants was removed from the main LR of Davos. ''Lurking general'' could also be a nod towards the VHL general chat. If that is the case, Peepants more than likely left the Davos LR for good. This also explains why he would say that he misses ''rest of the Davos squad. No words of encouragement were given to the new management in Davos by Peepants, which is interesting and shows that there could be tension. ''Traitorous Filth'' is some kind of inside joke and ''David'' is a name of some sort. Closer analysis of the last parts did not result in an additional commentary.

3. Interesting times in Davos

The assistant GM, N0hbdy, is a talented goalie that is surely going early in the upcoming VHL draft. Is Davos targeting the young goalie? The current starting goalie in Davos, UnGuri, is going to be a free agent. Was it a mistake to get rid of Tsujimoto and Peepants this early in the off-season? A player like UnGuri can make or break your season. If he leaves, that's it for Davos. If you trade two key players, the odds of UnGuri staying go down clearly. Was UnGuri leaving a known fact inside Davos early on, and that is why Tsujimoto and Peepants were moved? They did not want to go through a rebuild? As mentioned, Tsujimoto is an older player, so him being moved is not that odd, but at the same time, I'm sure Davos fans would have wanted a player like that to retire in Davos. Peepants is a different case. The face of the franchise. If not now, at least in a season or two from now. You don't move a player like that just for the fun of it. We can expect more trades from Davos during this off-season.

4. To the end few lines about Davos in poem like format

Gone and forgotten

Something inside smells rotten

Bottom is the direction

Between new and old is disconnection

At least Davos is pretty

Just shame the team is now shitty
