After a scoreless first period, both teams ratcheted up the offense and the goals started. Eastern Europe netted a pair of goals in the second period to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but the Canadians weren't going to go down without a fight. They found the back of the net, thanks to a goal from Aurelien Moreau, which cut the deficit to 2-1 as the teams went to the final period. Unfortunately for the Canadians, they couldn't make any headway in the final period, as they traded a pair of goals with Eastern Europe, before Team EE found the empty net to end any comeback hopes.
