(Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats)

The season has picked up speed and our hockey exports played an other couple of games. We also will share Marcel's autograph card, for the first time in the Wranglers' Red, White and Black. But first to our featured matches.

3-4 (SO)

In a nailbiter of a game, the Wranglers had to concede to the Bears in a 4-3 shoot out loss. The Seattle team was on the board first with a power play goal, but Calgary's Tessier replied with a brace of his own, one of which was on the man advantage. And that is how the teams went into the first break. The Bears tied the game in the second frame with an other power play marker. In the third period both teams scored one goal each, with Kotkakoivu being successful for his colours and Seattle scoring for the third time in power play. The sudden death did not bring a winner, so the teams had to resort to the shootout for evaluating a victor. Wilson parried all Wranglers attempts and Dahl all but one from Seattle. The three stars were awarded to Tessier (2g/1a), Petrenko (1g/2a) and Kotkakoivu (1g/0a). Dahl's (.923) stellar performance brought a win in the netminder duel against Wilson (.914) but was not enough to carry his team across the goal line. The Wranglers' power play was okay (1/4) the box play was far from it (3/6) and decided ultimately the match.

Marcel was noted with 0g, 0a, +2 and 1sb.

Daniel had 0g, 0a, +0, 4 hits and 53.66% success at the draw.

2-1 (OT)

The Wranglers gave away a game against the Americans they had no business losing, judging by the shots totals. Both teams scored in the first period. Daniel found the back of the net for the Wranglers with 20 seconds to spare in the frame. Strasmore picks up a dumped puck and passes it to Jokinen. The veteran defenseman carries the biscuit into the Americans' zone and passes to Dan in front of the net. The Swiss forward one times it 12 inches above the ice via the post into the net. Unfortunately, that was all the scoring for the regulation time, though not for lack of trying from Calgary's side. As the three regulation periods did not find a winner, it was again time for the sudden death. Matchett delivered the dagger after less than five minutes into extra time. Kennedy (35 saves), Matchett (1g/0a) and Daniel (1g/0a) were given the three stars of the night. Dahl had a good game (.917) but was overshadowed by Kennedy's herculean effort in net (.972). The Wranglers' power play was a no show (0/2) but the penalty kill was immaculate (4/4).

Marcel logged 0g, 0a, -1 and 3sb.

Daniel was reported with 1g, 0a, +0, 3 hits and 58.33FO%.

Here are the Jansers' stats for the season (note that two match summaries are missing, which were not available when the cut off time came around. Rest assured they will be there in tomorrow's issue):

Marcel: 8gp, 0g, 2a, 2pts, +4, 5 hits, 14sb

Daniel: 8gp, 3g, 1a, 4pts, -3, 14 PIM, 26 hits, 4sb, 1ppg, 53.89FO%
