                            Oreo McFleury - Hello Europe/Oslo!

Fresh off a Founders Cup victory with the San Diego Marlins, Oreo McFleury was drafted 5th overall to the Oslo Storm and 5th overall to the Vancouver Wolves. Following his 101 points in 92 regular season games in the VHLM, and 25 in 16 playoff matchups, Oreo storms onto the European scene (pun intended).

Oreo is in search of a Renaissance Cup, to take one step closer to winning all three in his career, as well as (hopefully) World Cup gold eventually. He aims to have a very successful season and be among the league leaders in scoring after a lot of training this offseason. Specifically, he wants to overtake Brock Hampton who is returning after leading the league in points with the Cologne Express. However, he mainly wants to see his team do well, and likes the offensive firepower Oslo appears to have heading in. He is familiar with Halvar Torbjorn already from their time together in Mexico City at the end of Season 85, and trained with draftmate Jimi Jaks in the offseason.

As for the type of forward Oreo wants to be: a two-way forward with high end scoring ability. He’s shown to be nearly equally good at making plays and netting goals himself, with 46 goals and 45 assists last season with the Marlins.

Also worth mentioning is how there will be some brotherly competition this season, with Reese McFleury playing with the Istanbul Red Wolves, whom his agent used to work for. Oreo is looking forward to facing off against Reese, especially with him being a defenseman. Sadly, the third brother, Skor, will not be playing another season in the VHLE after dominating with the Express last season. Instead, he will be lacing up his skates with the Riga Reign in the big league, where Oreo and Reese will compete against him soon with the Vancouver Wolves.

As for Oslo, the team is trying to win their third straight championship, which Oreo is glad to be a part of. As always, it won’t be easy, as several different teams are eyeing a run. Cologne, for one, who has developed a rivalry with the Storm, is again looking to be a real contender. None other than fellow Marlin alum Justin Lion will be tending their goal, so it will take a bit of mental adjustment for Oreo to learn to score on his former goalie.

Overall, Oreo would love to score more points than his brother Skor did, and lead Oslo to another Renaissance cup. He has a great feeling about what the season will bring and is happy to be playing with some excellent players. Five players remain in Oslo from the S86 season, and Oreo knows he’s lucky to get the chance to take the ice with them, in addition to the numerous additions to the team.
