Hacob 29
When the buzzer finally sounded in the final game of the championship, and the him and his fellow Philadelphia Reapers had been crowned as champions, Feka Ohi Kau had obviously been elated. The dream of winning a cup and finally been accomplished. However, something just did not feel quite right. Although the trade deadline move to Philadelphia had been perfect in any regard - the departure from Houston and his teammates went fine, the trip, move and house search went fine, meeting and getting to know the new team went fine, and obviously the play on the ice was fine - the experience was not quite what he was hoping it would be. As they celebrated and departed the stadium to go celebrate at with a dinner at Butcher and Singer, his mind wandered trying to figure out what was missing, however he decided to shut down the thoughts for the moment and fully let the achievement sink in and celebrate with his teammates while he still had time. Once the offseason hit, Feka's mind had nothing to do except for think. No matter whether he was skating, lifting, shooting, or preparing for the football, basketball, or baseball season, he was still trying to figure out why it felt off. When he was taking a break in between batting practice sessions, he was scrolling back through his Instagram feed and saw a picture of him with AJW handing him Houston jersey. The joy and elation on his face was striking. Then he found a video of him goofing off with his JST teammates and their GM @jacobcarson877 after they had won a cup, and that same feeling of pure elation was still there. Both of these posts brought back the crushing memories of leaving the situations. Although the Yukon Rush had won the cup, that did not soften the blow of having to leave the friends behind to go back to Houston. And when @AJW announced that he was stepping back from GMing, the locker room just was not the same anymore. That pure joy and passion for the game had disappeared when he left and thats when he realized, it was not the hockey being played on the ice, nor the quality of the facilities, nor the number of fans, nor the teammates, it felt off because the culture that the GMs had brought that he had grown accustomed to had vanished. Upon realizing this, he knew that he would just need to keep going in Philly and hope to find that same environment in a future destination. After all, Philly had been a great spot and he had no reason to want to go to any of the other VHLM teams. Yes, the extreme joy may not be found, but he was literally getting paid to hockey and he had no complaints about his GMs or his fellow Reapers so there would be no reason to quit. As he was walking into the Colorado training for an offseason football workout, an ESPN notification popped up that read "@jacobcarson877 to replace Twists as Houston Bulls GM"... 518 Words - Claiming this week 8/13 Edited October 13 by Hacob Triller, jacobcarson877 and AJW 1 1 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/152166-we-won-the-cup/ Share on other sites

Smarch 3,182
Review: it’s always a great feeling to play the last game of the season and win it as well. Getting traded midseason to the eventual cup winners, must have felt great as well after winning the cup. Good read, it’s alway tough to leave a team even if it’s for better things in your career. It appears Jacobcarson had a big impact on you in the JST and it good to hear your reunited and it likely feels so good. jacobcarson877 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/152166-we-won-the-cup/#findComment-1041513 Share on other sites
